I brought over some old / yellowed DA6 headlights with some surface defects but otherwise clean (I rated them 8/10) and these guys seriously did a great job cleaning them up that these are easily a 9/10 now.
Quick service and amazing results. The off-the-shelf fixes from auto parts stores don't really re-seal the plastic like these guys do. Definitely have more headlights to bring in the near future :)

The place is not easy to find and parking can be tricky, but I was very satisfied with the service. Sam did an awesome job of repairing chip damage on my windshield. The process took about 30 min and the "dot" is barely noticeable. He invited me to waiting at the office after turning the A/C on because the day was hot when I came. Sam is polite and easy to work with. Will call him to restore the headlights of my car soon.

Had a rock chip my front windshield on my car. Only discovered the ding yesterday, and the crack was already starting to spread. Found California Car Glass on Yelp and when I called Sam invited me to come in right away to get it fixed. 30 minutes later he was working on it and within a few minutes the crack was gone. Sam was very polite nice to work with. He said if I had waited another day the crack could have spread and I would have been stuck with an expensive windshield replacement.

This place is like WOW!!!!!
They restored my baby in an hour for $65. I scheduled for my car to get serviced in the morning for $65 the day before. When I got there I saw a sign that says 25% off. As I was walking to Starbucks, I was thinking that I should ask for the discount. When I saw the results of their work, I just paid and gave Luis a handshake.
Luis even gave me some tips on maintenance. Thank you!!!!

Amazing! The place is a little hard to find, tucked inside a used car lot, but I was very satisfied with the service.
$64 to bring both my foggy headlights to an amazingly clear finish. Sam did the consultation and setting up the appointment and Luiz did the work in less than an hour. Stellar.

This place did an amazing job of restoring the headlights on my 2006 Toyota Corolla. The service took about an hour and they look brand new! Sam and his staff were very friendly and helpful. I waited in their office and used their wifi while I was there. I recommend them to everyone!

I brought my Mercedes here to restore the headlights. They were looking old and dingy and all the products I used to restore them myself, simply didn't work! CA Car Glass and Auto City did an EXCELLENT JOB in making my headlights LOOK BRAND NEW. Definitely gave my car the facelift it needed. Thanks for the great work!!! Definitely recommended.

It's rare that you deal with someone both professional and friendly who can offer services at an amazing price. Our headlight lamps were so dirty I believed it was time for an optometry appointment. After checking online to see whether or not we could use a kit to clean them, it seemed like the consensus was "get someone from craigslist to do it". We were able to arrange an appointment the same day with Sam over the phone.
When we arrived, he joked with us for a bit; then we wandered around downtown Redwood City for a few hours (there's plenty to do there). Sam said we could pick it up after a half hour, but it's best to permit the UV coating he applies to the headlamps as much time in the sun as possible for drying, so you might want to keep this in mind when scheduling an appointment.
When we returned we were able to see the results from across the street -- our headlamps looked brand new, and more importantly, provided much better lighting at night.
Sam printed us out a receipt, gave us a small bottle of polish to use once or twice a year to maintain the headlights, and offered to send the before/after photos to my email (which I've uploaded here). All this for less than the cost of a new pair of headlamp bulbs.
I usually don't review a place after having only been there once, but with the job Sam has done I'll probably never need to go back. Highly recommended.

If you get a chip or crack in your windshield, Sam will repair it for you. He fixed mine for $35, and it took about 30 minutes. $35 is way cheaper than the other places that I called (which were $59 to $69). I think he did a great job because all I can see now is a tiny, barely noticeable dot (maybe ~2 mm).
NOTE: Cash or check only.

If you can't get your cracked or chipped windshield fixed right away, Sam's tip for temporarily preventing the crack from spreading is:
"Apply a thin layer of clear nail polish on the outside surface, wherever the crack is." Don't put the nail polish on the inside because that's pointless. When you take it to get fixed, they'll first remove the nail polish & then fix it for you.
Also, for only $50-$89, Sam'll fix your faded/foggy-looking/yellowed headlights and get them looking clear again.

I have been thinking of getting my foggy, crusty headlamps polished for a long time, but was put off by the cost. Nine years of scratches take their toll. I, too, have heard of using Never Dull or other DIY methods, but I don't relish experimenting on things as expensive as a car. I am REALLY glad I had the job done by California Car Glass/Auto City instead.
I rode my bicycle into Sam's shop because it's in my neighborhood, and I figured I'd be less tempted into a hasty decision not having the car with me. Being Memorial Day weekend, there was a special on, bringing the cost down to $65. I've seen the same service advertised elsewhere for much more, even taking into account the "$50. coupon". The ad may have been talking about all four headlamps, or other extra services, but I won't need to find out because I found California Auto Glass.
Besides having the headlights done to a clear, shiny perfection, Sam and I talked cars in general for a while. Combined with the reviews for Auto City, this seems like one of those rare small businesses that still value a customer as a long term investment, building a relationship rather than just concluding a transaction or pushing an extra sale. I totally recommend California Car Glass, and I may return to do business with Auto City used cars.

I found California Care Glass on yelp after I searched for places to do head light restoration. I called Sam and he asked me about what I wanted done and gave me an appointment the very same day. I took the car in and within an hour the restoration was done by Luis who took his time and not damage the paint on my car. I was impressed enough to find out whether they did any auto detailing and sure enough they did. The price quoted was unbeatable. For $200 I had the restoration and detailing done.
The same would have cost more than $400 in the city. I am glad I tried these guys.
Definitely will recommend them.

My headlights were very oxidized and after the great service here, they are like brand new now. It took about an hour and a half, which is good. They took the time to make sure everything was done right. While I waited, they allowed me to work on my laptop and use their wifi. Overall, it was a positive experience and I am very satisfied with the work done on my headlights.

Sam did it again! I just called him today and he was more than willing to accommodate me the same day to restore another pair of highly oxidized headlights...this time on an 11 year old civic. Within 45 minutes, the result was simply night and day. The quality and execution of his work is second to NONE. He really takes the proper time to prep the front end with protective tape, and he definitely has the patience and the eye for perfection. He finishes the restoration with an application of protective UV coating and a special light to speed up the curing process. Furthermore, the other gentleman working today was also polite and courteous as well. Forget the DIY kits and get the job done right and professionally at California Car Glass.
EDIT: I have come back three times...I even entrusted him with caring for a rare set of JDM STI headlights imported from Japan. And all three times, California Car Glass has restored the lights to showroom perfection.

Sam is the best with professional quality service and worksmanship! They were having a special for Headlight Restoration and mind you we brought in an SUV with fogged up, barely visible lighting at night headlights. We were told to come back in 1 hour and it was like pure magic when we arrived for pick up!
From a distance, my gf and I noticed a very nice bling and crystal clear shininess! I can tell you from personal experience that buying those "do it yourself" products from Kragen does not work! They did an amazing and super quick job with pro Headlight Restoration!!!
The most memorable thing was how Sam really made sure everything exceeded our standards and expectations! I highly recommend this place for Headlight Restoration and more!

Tried the do it yourself kit to clean up my headlights bc a buddy of mine claimed it was easy to do. Spent about $20, an hr of my time, and broke a sweat in the sun. Result: milky headlights that were even worse than before. Brought my car here after doing some yelp research and now my headlights look extra crispy and for an extremely reasonable price. Sam's guy Luis even cleaned up the dirt created by the restoration off the front bumper of the car. Couldn't be any happier with the service here and will be recommending this spot to all my friends and family with ugly headlights!

I had headlights on a 2004 subaru that were oxidized and yellow like crazy. Sam was able to sand/buff/polish/cure that stuff all off and my headlights looked like BRAND NEW. I trusted these reviews and took a gamble with Sam and this place and it paid off. He gave a great deal (cheapest quote I found) on the headlight restoration, had it done in 30 minutes, and even fixed a crack in my windshield while I waited.
dont waste your money on any kit from the auto parts store or on new headlamps. take it to sam first.

Excellent service and price for auto detail. Contacted California Car Glass at Auto City for headlight restoration and ended up getting an exterior detail in addition to the headlight cleaning. My car's finish looks great and the headlights look brand new. Again, price was less than other shops in the area.

Sam is super friendly and eager to get out and work on cars. His work speaks for itself!
My daily commute consists of about 60 miles a day on I-280. In about a year I have gotten 2 windsheild chip on my OEM BMW glass. An original BMW windshield can cost over $1000 to replace.
A quick call to Sam and he was able to come out and repair my windshield at a very minimal fee. I was very happy with his work and the chip is 95% gone.
