Although they try to but it is still a a very costly franchise and I do not know if they try to make money out of our ignorance or they do not know what they are doing . My car had starting trouble and I toed it to there place and battery was dead so they replace it still did nothing. They told me to took it to super mechanic shop as their super mechanic is out and then they told me they will do a diagnostic test for $90 and most likely it is the fuel pump which will cost $500 plus to fix . I made some call moved my call to magic auto who without a diagnostic figured it out that it had electric wire malfunction and fixed my car for total 140.00. Really you spent more that half a day and the end result is that you do not know . No guess work please .
Now after this review some body from pep boys will reply that please contact us with full detail . Please do not do it . Thanks

When I entered the store I was professionally greeted immediately. The technician was very professional and did not try to sell me unnecessary items or services I do not need for my vehicle. The location of the store is great and it wasn't busy at all they offer a wide variety of services and tires and the work they do is professional and quality. The wait time isn't to bad the prices are great and inexpensive. They have a nice waiting area with nice comfortable leather chairs and a big screen TV also free Kahrig coffee the facility is clean and neat. The technician explains everything in detail and makes sure you have a full understanding of the work that is going to be performed on your vehicle. There is good honest people working at this location come and check them out.

The first couple times I went there, I thought I was getting great service. Then I broke down and had my car towed. I was told it would be over $500 to repair a part and hose.
I called a mechanic friend in Sacramento and he told me to bring my car home amd he would drive down to fix it. He got the part for $100 came down and it WASN'T the problem. All I needed was a washer and hose. It costs $10.71 to fix.
TEN DOLLARS AND SEVENTY ONE CENTS!!!!!
I was shocked. And now.... I have lost all trust in them.

I love their service, I called to ask for a starter replacement and I was told hold on a second please and they have the balls to ignore me and answer another call, I love this kind of F****** service, Every shop in Bako act the same. If you don't need our money CLOSE THIS S*** DOWN. I'm tired of this crap. Damn Bakersfield businesses

I made my appointment on line a day in advance. Here I sit my appointment was at 1pm it is now 1:52 and my truck is still in the parking lot never moved.
All I need is an oil change and tire rotation(45 mins tops usually)
When I came in I waited 15 mins to even be greeted. One worker busy on phone other busy flerting with customer (chit chatting)
Once I was aknowledged I was scolded (service tech) said you made appointment on line it is best if you call and make sure the time you booked is a good time for us.
Wow! Why have booking online if it is not correct.
To me as a coustomer that is the problem of the company offering the service not me as the coustomer.
I was only taking advantage of a offered service. Not real happy; pretty sad as I am a loyal regular customer for more then 15 years.
I guess I need to find a new auto servive place that actually wants a coustomer to use their online services.

This pepboys is nice! There weren't a lot of people at this location. I called ahead to all the other pepboys in town and this one wasn't as busy as the other ones on a Friday afternoon. The waiting room had air conditioning, a Keurig coffee maker with cups, a water filter machine, and comfortable seats and a tv. Restrooms were also available. I would recommend!

Ok customer service.
Awesome waiting room. Comes with AC, TV, filtered water, charging station, Keurig coffee.
I went in to fix a flat, but the nail didn't go all the way through, so they didn't charge. Can't really comment on service.
I waited quite a while and they only had 2 mechanics on staff on a Sunday. They get 3 stars for that, but because it's a Sunday (when no one is usually open) and they have an awesome waiting room, I give them a 3.5, average to 4 star (hesitently).

I experienced great service. Better than their competitors in the parking lot. I highly recommend this place. The waiting area is awesome!!! The service spectacular. Plus they open early and stay late. What more could you ask for? This is one of the best places in town.

The only good thing this place has going for it is the new waiting area. Which serves as a distraction so you don't realize how long you've been waiting only to see that your car hasn't been looked at yet.
I went in for an oil change and was told it would be about an hour wait which I was prepared for. After an hour and a half my car was still sitting in the parking lot. I asked the cashier how much longer and she proceeded to chat with the other employees in the shop for 5 minutes before walking back in the waiting area. I asked for my keys and left. No apology from her. She was probably glad to have 1 less car to worry about.
There was another guy just standing around in the shop who I'm sure could manage to change my oil. Bottom line is this is a chain repair shop and they could care less about you. Check the reviews of the other locations in Bakersfield and you'll see the same trend. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

I recently went in to this pep boys location to get a set of new tires. I was explaining to the lady at the front desk that I wanted to get tires that are larger than the ones I had on originally. While I was explaining to her what I wanted another employee walked in and heard the conversation and said they wouldn't fit. I was willing to pay any extra charges they might have to make the tires fit but they just shut me down and I felt they were just glad to get another from being in the shop. So I went to my car and called AMERICAN TIRES ON GOSFORD RD. across from Walmart and there friendly staff helped me out quickly and did what ever they can to fit the tire size I wanted that was true customer service.

I had the best experience anyone could ask for. The service manager was out for the day, but with my good fortune Jack from the Roseville store was taking over for the day. His expertise and excellent customer service made me beyond happy. The quality of work was great and the process were superb! I can't speak highly enough of how I was treated and how well my BMW was taken care of. The showroom is gorgeous and the staff, very polite. They four Cooper tires I purchased had a buy three get one free instant rebate that was pocket pleasing. They ride super smooth and have wonderful performance. The free alignment check helped top determine that my settings were slightly off, so I opted to have them perform that work as well. Since I was close to my oil change maintenance interval, Jack offered a full synthetic Castrol Oil change sty much less than the dealer, so of course I couldn't pass that up either. Even though I was just passing through town, I'm very happy I stopped in. As a loyal Pepboys customer I'm happy to say that Pepboys has one again gone above and beyond to earn my business.

Will never go here again. My wife took in our 2008 Chevy pick-up for smog check. They gave her back a truck that wouldn't start (but passed smog). When my wife asked why it wouldnt start they offered to do a diagnostic...for $95. When she passed on that, they offered to put in a new starter....for $395. If I give a business a well maintained working vehicle, and they return a vehicle that does not work, the onus and responsibility is on them to send me off with a vehicle that worked as well as it did when I dropped it off, or at minimum tell me what's wrong. Highly recommend against this business.

I've been coming here for 14 years. They've repaired my '95 Toyota so it will pass the smog test twice. When it didn't pass, they directed me on how to get a $500 voucher to pay for repairs. Very helpful staff!

One Stop Auto Care Centers is a family owned and operated company here in Bakersfield since 1988. The family is a Christian family that started this busines because the Mother was ripped off by a national Chain repair facilty, they wanted to give their town a place where someone could go and know they will not get ripped off. Their Employees are salaried with no commissions paid so customers are not sold something they do not need. One Stop specializes in Smog and repairs to get your vehicle to pass smog but also offers other services for your vehicle such as: Engine diagnosis, trouble shooting, heating/air conditioning, tires, Alignments, brakes, tune-ups, transmission services, oil and filter changes, and many many other services. Upholding the highest of standards, 2 of One Stops employees have went on the work for the Bakersfield office of the B.A.R. which monitors repair facilities to make sure they are performing correctly with in California's rules and regulations. A company definitely setting standards that others strive for, One Stop is the place to take your vehicle when needed.
