I bring all of our family vehicles to this place when we need a smog. I have to say that I love this place. Never have I had a problem. They are very friendly and efficient. I was there on Saturday the 30th of April to get my daughters car smogged.
They open at 8 but I got there at 7:40am. I am glad I did because a whole lot of other people had the same idea. I was second in line and there was a minor issue with the car. "Will" came in and told me that he had to do some minor repairs and retest it. I said yes without asking about price or what was wrong with it. I just needed it done. Well he came back in and said its done. I held on to my purse a little tighter because I was scared of what the bill was going to be. Well, guess what?? I was just charged for the price of the smog test. I was so grateful for this. Minor repair or not, he could have charged me.
I cannot emphasize enough how honest and professional they conduct themselves at this place.

The staff was nice and my service was fast. However, their credit card reader was acting up and I was charged a total of 5 times. 3 times on my credit card and 2 times on my bank/debit card. I wanted to pay with my credit card so I got that fixed with Capital One. But when I had the company refund me my money to my bank account, it came through then on the same day the money was taken out again by them. I spoke to my bank and they show that I was charged twice on the 16th, refunded twice on the 18th, then charged twice again also on the 18th. I spoke with a manager at the smog shop and he said their books show that I was refunded. It's now been 3 days and I don't have my money and I'm not able to pay my phone bill because of it. So if you ever go here and use your card, make sure you weren't over charged.
I just got off the phone with 1 Stop and my credit card company. 1 Stop won't give me my money back! They haven't validated my Capital One charge so it's showing that I haven't payed. So technically I've still payed TWICE because they kept all my money from my bank card! They owe me $136.40! I need that money because I was unable to pay my phone bill. If I don't have my money and my phone gets shut off, I will take them to small claims court. I am extremely pissed off right now.

I came here many years ago when I had my little 2000 VW Bug. I was inexperienced with Repair shops and just knew I'd be taken advantage of. I'm so glad I chose 1 Stop. They were very thorough, kind, and prompt. I ended up having to get my A/C hose thingy repaired (see what I mean about my inexperience?). They wrote everything up before committing to repairs. There were no hidden fees. Just exactly what was quoted.
The lady at the front counter was especially nice and explained everything very clearly. I certainly appreciate that. No intimidation what so ever, and no pushy sales techniques.
I was very happy with the service and the price!

We had gone here for years and years. Yesterday we took my son's ugly little car in for smog. We did not expect it to pass, figured it would likely need a catalytic converter or something else. Well folks, take it to someone who cares. The service guy at the desk was rude, disrespectful and they refused to diagnose why it did not pass. They treated my husband as if he were retarded. When he asked what area of the smog was troublesome, he said "it didn't pass." Well, duh. In what area? Additionally, he refused to diagnose the problem that day, refused to keep the ticket open so it could be looked at on Monday and generally implied they were not interested in our business. His answers and comments were absolutely condescending. If I were the owner I would either send this loser to an intensive class on customer service or relieve him of his duties. In this line of work, repeat customer business is a necessity. 1 Stop Smog lost a return customer with us. I'll never go back, I'll never have nice things to share with people I know about them and I'll write reviews everywhere I can about the shoddy customer service and dishonest tactics. Shame on you.

I went first thing in the morning by 8am and was done 45 minutes later. This is the 2nd time ive used them and ive never had any issues. One employee didnt smile and obviously was lacking In a sense of humor when I tried to lighten up his mood, which is fine. But this place is good if you want a place that is to the point and in and out.

This place is absolutely terrible. Apparently they are permanently short-staffed and unless you have the luxury of being able to drop of your car for days at a time until they can finally get around to looking at it, don't go here.
I went on a Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. and waited for 2 1/2 hours for them to test my car. They said it would be an hour. Then finally they tested it and it was slightly over so it failed. They said they were too backed up to work on it that day and to bring it back Monday. I should have known there was a problem right there.
I brought it back Monday and dropped it off at 8 a.m. I then started biking an hour to work each way in 100-degree weather while my car sat there untouched. She said she would need it overnight, so I figured I would hear something by Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon came, no call and I called and they said they hadn't had time to look at it yet. I called again just before closing time, and not only had they not even looked at it, but said there were still five cars ahead of me - after two full days. I immediately went down and picked it up. Who knows how many days it would have taken.
To top things all off, I got there and my windows were down and the keys were in my car. No one had time to look at it, but they left it out there for the taking. I could have totally just got right in the car and driven away.
They didn't care that they didn't get to it and don't seem to be doing anything to fix their short-staffed, horrible wait time.
Don't ever go here!

I have used this shop for smog checks for about 9 years with several vehicles. I have never had to leave a vehicle more than 4 hours (I usually just get there when they open and wait for my vehicle) I have never paid more than the standard rate for a smog-but I also make sure I dont have a check engine light on! They ask every time if I do, so they can warn me if necessary about extra time and cost. Bonus for me-they are close to my home.

I've been going to these guys for over 10 years. They are honest, fast and good. What more could you ask for. In life you need a good accountant, a good dentist and a good mechanic. This takes care of 1 out of 3.

Honest, great work, friendly, fairly priced. What more can you ask for? I've been taking my cars there for 6yrs. Never any problems. I would highly recommend.

I used to like them but now I feel scammed! I went to get my car smogged and the check engine light was on. So they ran a $95 diagnostic test and charged $60 for the smog which they will resmog if it fails. Turns out we had to replace the evaporative canister... We find out that the part cost $250 online and they charged $350 for it. We asked why and they said they charge a 40%!!!! yes!!! FORTY PERCENT MARKUP on their orders for car parts! That is an extra $100 in their pocket just for ordering it which is not even a hassle worth 100 dollars! We had no choice but to take what they offered because apparently you cannot buy your own part and ask/pay a mechanic to install it for you, which in my opinion is really tough on people hard pressed for money and it is not a mechanic's business to tell us how much we should spend on a part. I feel like this company is partially fraudulent because they say "we don't try to scam you because all our workers are already paid by the hour" and yet that is how they make more money, with a large part price markup! We will not be going there again, and we will let them know as soon as they give us the keys back. I strongly advise you not to go here. Please go somewhere else and ask what their markup price is for ordering parts. We have found some to be 25%!!! Much better than 40%!!! In short, it's too expensive for the middle class Joe!

Took my mom for $576.00 for a $75.00 dollar part. They had the truck for 3 days for a 1.8 hour repair and it still doesn't run right. First Day: couldn't get to it to diagnose the problem Second Day: Couldn't get the part ( carquest had it in stock 1 block west on Rosedale) Third Day: Picked up the truck ( still has a miss ) suggested 6 plugs and wires $230.00 ( I'll do it myself for those prices ) The part was $75.00 (they marked it up to $230.00/ 300%) The labor was $110.00 an hour and they padded it to two hours The diagnoses was $110.00 on top of the repair charge ( no credit for repairs ) When I went in to question their charges they acted like they could care less and when I told them they were ripping people off they told me " Gotta keep the lights on" Stay away from this place in my opinion.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. If you had provided an option for zero stars that is what I would have chosen. Day 1: I left my pickup there for a smog cert (check engine light was on) on Monday, 6-17-13 at 1:29pm. Within a couple of hours I rec'd a call from them saying I had a bad gas tank neck and the fix would be about $250ish plus the $95.00 diagnostic fee. They also said that there may be more work necessary but they couldn't know until first replacing the tank neck. I ok'd the work even though I was puzzled that the entire gas tank had been previously replaced by Toyota under warranty, and the truck only has about 67000 miles on it presently. Day 2: The next day I received another call from them, saying that they had misdiagnosed the computer readings, and that what the truck needed was some kind of an evaporative canister that unfortunately would push the repair cost to about ($560.00 more or less) material and labor. It didn't seem like I had a choice so I told them to proceed (this is my work truck and this was the second day they had it tied up). The work was not finished that day (Tuesday 6-18) either. Day 3: Wednesday 6-19 I called about the status of the truck (twice at different times) and on the last call I was told the technician was out driving the truck after having made repairs to the canister, in order to reset some sensors or something which takes about 50 miles of driving to do. A while later I went down there to get the vehicle and was told the tech was still driving it. I was also told that there were two additional air leaks , the causes of which were not yet diagnosed and that could cause additional repairs and charges. The tech arrived back at the shop with my truck shortly thereafter, and said he didn't get the sensors to kick in because it needed driven some more. I took the truck home at that point, I just couldn't do without it any longer. Day 4: I put the requisite mileage on the truck and took it back to 1 Stop at about 3pm yesterday 6-25-13, expecting that they would put me first in line since this was my third or fourth day trying to get a simple smog cert. No such luck. Leave the truck or come back another day. Day 5: This morning (6-26-13) at about 9:30 am I went back to 1 Stop's shop only to be told they couldn't give an estimate of when they would get it finished and to once again leave the truck. The counter person also repeated that there were more leaks to be diagnosed and that the repairs could increase. This was the last straw for me, so I told them to figure up what I owed them up to that point, and that I was taking the vehicle to another smog shop. I also told them that I wanted the alleged defective part (canister) that they had replaced. I was told that they probably didn't have the part, and I reminded them that by law they were required to keep the part. The counterperson argued that I hadn't requested the used part when I first came in so it was probably gone. I told them that if they didn't produce the used part that my next stop would be at the Bureau of Automotive Repair. At that time, the counterperson went into a back office and made phone call(s), and when he came back he offered to refund my entire $200. deposit I had charged on my AMEX card. I accepted the offer. He than told me the original smog part (canister) was STILL ON THE TRUCK and had never been replaced. I then took my truck down the street to SPEED A WAY SMOG on 5260 Rosedale Highway and left it. Within two hours I received a call that the truck had passed smog after they replaced the GAS CAP for $16.89.

PLEASE, DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I could give them zero stars for their rude and extremely inconsiderate staff. I have never left a negative review for a business, but this was unbelievable. I went to this business for the first time to get my car smogged. I dropped it off, and asked them to call me when finished. I never received a phone call, so I went back 10 minutes before closing. The girl at the front desk told me that my car was never smogged because they couldn't "turn the ignition". (My ignition hasn't had any issues in the 8 years of owning it.) The part that pissed me off was that they NEVER called me to inform me that my car wasn't getting smogged. They just let my car sit out in the parking lot until they closed so that when I showed up, they had no time to smog it. Since it was now the end of the day, everywhere else was closed as well. A simple phone call about the "ignition problem" could have bypassed this entire situation. When I got back into my car, the ignition turned on smoothly as usual too. Needless to say, I will be finding another business that isn't such a waste of my time. I will never go back here again.

They don't deserve a star.... Just had to rate a one in order to comment. I have been coming here for years because I trust there work and fairness. When asked for a loyalty discount, I was informed that had to bring in a coupon...( What!!! A person who has never used there service can come in and get a better price than a loyal return customer!!!) Shame on you Whittington's!! Buy the way, the cocky look and attitude of the service person was not very pleasing!

Complete rip off. I have gone here for years, but apparently there is new staff managing the shop. Had to wait over 2 hours when they said it would only take an hour. My van failed smog due to a visual inspection of the catalytic converter that showed the converter I have is for a previous model year and not the model year of my car. What?!? My car passed smog at this very same shop 3 previous times with no mention ever of a catalytic converter issue. They treated me like I had somehow tampered with my vehicle! I was very offended and now I have to go to the referee to get my car pass smog as there is no repair according to them for my vehicle. If they were an honest shop they would have done the visual inspection first and saved me the time and money. I also found out they charge at least $20.00 more than other smog shops in the area.
