The guys who work here are pretty nice. I had to leave this review because I could not believe how rude the front desk was! When you would say something, she would just glare at you and say "yeah....." It just blows my mind that someone would be that blatantly rude to prospective customers. I'm glad I will never have to speak to her again.

The receptionist that answers the phone is rude and short, she is not helpful. They should get someone in there that knows what they are doing to help out more when a customer calls in.

Evil incarnate! I was locked out with a call in to AAA when a Ferra truck stopped up at the light beside me. I explained that I am disabled, low income, and was dreading having to use up one of my 2 remaining AAA service calls, knowing my 25 year old car may need to be towed soon & I asked if he could just open my door for me. He said, "Yeah, just let me turn my truck around." So I cancelled my AAA call as he did that, but when he arrived, he said it would cost me $60 to do it as a non-AAA call. What a jerk!!! Now I have to wait all over again and it's cold, it's raining, I have arthritis, and my dome light is on so my battery may be dead before I get help. I hope someone is as "kind" to him!

In the middle of the night I needed a tow, which was done on time which I was grateful for. The tow man was courteous and helpful. However this review is not about the tow man but the business. Two days later I showed up early in the morning to pay my bill and get my belongings out of my vehicle so that I can take the Greyhound home. They wouldn't let my finance go through my vehicle to get our stuff while I waited in line to pay the bill. Our bus was leaving in 45 min from downtown Pittsburgh, they knew this but still would not allow my finance access to the car so that our time is used efficiently and she organizes and packs our stuff while work out the bill in the office.
That wasn't the biggest problem. I had to hire a car transporter to get my vehicle out of Ferras to another mechanic shop close to home. The people in the office said that they would not help the driver of the car transporter push the car from the lot onto the street so that he can load it onto the tractor trailer (keep in mind that my car doesn't turn on). They said that they will be willing to steer the vehicle while the driver pushes and that if that they would charge an additional $150 if they need to use one of their vehicles to move it out.
I couldn't believe it. All I was asking for, is what any good samaritan would do, to just help the driver push the vehicle off their gravel lot onto to the street so that the driver can load it onto the trailer. They said that we will not help push and that we can use a vehicle for $150 extra charge.
There are plenty of other mechanic shops that are down to earth, that sympathize with the customer and help them out. Not these people. They are all about the dollar.

Terrible experience. Truck was tiwed and was told by front desk that I could pick my truck up after 430. I would just have to call and they would send somebody down. Called at 600 and was told that the guys were all out on tows and it would be an hour. 90 minutes later a truck showed up. The guy wouldn't even stop for half a second to hear me out. He said he just stopped to use the bathrrom and would have to wait for the next guy. He hit the road wi th out another word. Its now closing in on 8. Still no word back from them yet....

stuck on the interstate

My wife and I were on the way to visit our son in Ohio and while traveling on the P.A. Turnpike our car just stopped. A State Trooper soon pulled up and called for a tow. A truck [nicer than my car] soon arrived from Ferra Automotive. The driver was very polite and efficient. He had us loaded up and on the way to their shop in Sharpsburg in short order.The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a bad alternator. And after getting our approval on a very fair estimate [I called around while deciding] the car was back on the road and we were on our way in less than 3 hours. While we waited they offered to ride us to a local restaurant for a bite. I would highly recommend this company.

We had to deal with this auto mechanic three times. One of the times the estimate they gave us for a job was 40% more than where we ended up gotting the job done. Another time they charged us $40 a day to store the car outside of their garage, a hefty price for a garage located in cheap part of town. They were also not clear that it was going to be that expensive for storing it outside. And lastly, they were rude in interactions twice. I will never use this garage again and do not recommend it either
