Ive heard good things about this place... Even from other mechanics.
So, I got here a little after 9am on a Thurs. They took us immediately for an oil change said it would take about 20 min. Friendly staff. Prices online are slightly different than listed on their walls by about $5 (synthetic oil change) but the guy at the desk agreed to online price.
20 min later and we are done!
Happy customer here. Will be back.

There are certain businesses I have frequented that I immediately knew I would end up being a loyal customer, and GT Automotive was one of them. Owner Greg Roberts and his talented technicians are a class act. Kudos for the fine folks at Automotive Diesel Service (Freddie & Tom) recommending them to me. Having been there multiple times now, I feel I can honestly give them the 5 star rating I feel they deserve.
My first experience at GT Automotive was for a check engine light and malfunctioning fuel gauge on my wife's SUV. Unfortunately, the diagnosis wasn't what I wanted to hear, as the fuel level sensor and fuel pump were malfunctioning. And like most newer cars, the fuel pump is in the tank, which requires dropping the tank to replace the fuel pump. Anyway, they quoted me a very fair price, and got the job done the same day.
My second experience was a few months later for the same SUV, as the check engine light came on again. Greg's diagnostic equipment was telling him it was the anti lock brakes. Luckily for me, he has a great rapport with a local Nissan dealer. At no extra charge to me, a factory Nissan technician visited his shop with a Nissan "scan tool" to provide a second opinion. It ended up being a loose connection to the anti lock brake "pump" and all they had to do was crimp the wire to secure it. I got an oil change while I was there and I was out the door in a few hours with a bill that was less than $100.00. Whew!
My most recent trip was for a Royal Purple full synthetic oil change for my car. For all you gear-heads, Royal Purple oil costs over $8.00 per quart in a retail store. However, GT Automotive changed my oil with 8 quarts of Royal Purple oil and a Royal Purple oil filter for under $100.00; including labor. Furthermore, I asked him to inspect my brakes and change them if needed. Being the honest mechanics that they are, they advised me that my brakes had 40-50% pad life remaining and that I was good to go. Lastly, they didn't even charge me for the brake inspection. That's what I call looking out for your customers.

I have been taking my car to GT Automotive for years, and will continue for years to come. They are very helpful anytime I need to put my car in the shop for a fix or maintenance or just need an oil change. Oil changes are done quickly, and if any repair work needs to be done they usually only need a day or two to get everything fixed. More often than not they only need one day, especially if I drop it off when they open.
Just a tip, it's always better to call ahead and let them know why your bringing your car so they can be better prepared to help when you arrive.

I read all the great reviews and took my car in a few weeks ago. Battery wasn't charging and I specifically mentioned that I figured it was the alternator. They took a week checking it and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I picked it up Friday for $120 and it wouldn't start Saturday morning. Took it to my old shop uptown, they diagnosed and replaced the alternator and I had it back in two days. Greg and the team are nice guys and I had high hopes, but I should've just stuck to my shop uptown. Maybe it was an off week, but I won't be bringing any of my vehicles back there. Also, just a heads up, replacing 2 tires is about $50 cheaper at the shop uptown and $20 cheaper at Costco.

As good as it gets for sure. These guys are true professionals. High quality technicians on staff. Drop by for maintenance and you will see for yourself how cool these guys are. I used a Groupon voucher for a deluxe oil change. I knew going in that their will be some add ons. They told me that I needed a transmission flush. Greg took me in the back to show me the machine and to explain the process and why it's important. I trust them with my car. It's hard to find people to trust, especially when it comes to automotive mechanics. I trust these guys.

Greg and the team at GT Automotive really know how to take care of their customers. I recently had some hesitation when I accelerated in my vehicle. He asked if we could drop it off and may need to have if for a few days to diagnose the issue. By 5pm the same day he had called to let us know the car was ready. It was a few minor things and we were back on the road in no time! If you want a reputable automotive repair shop, look no further! This place will make you feel at home in no time!

I decided to keep my 2008 4Runner and Greg and his team took great care of my vehicle and me. He worked with me to give me the best price he could to get everything done that was needed at almost 100,000 miles. This is the best place I have ever taken any of my cars for repair. A friend suggested it for my Honda as he had always taken his Honda there and found them reasonable, honest,and efficient mechanics. Well, I can say the same thing. In addition, they showed me what they replaced and were able to show me, a person who knows not much about cars, what had gone wrong and how not to have that happen again. Plus, they were friendly and professional. I will go back for any future repairs or service that my car might need. They score at the top of the businesses that I have used for car repairs. A+

Highly recommend this place. Greg, the owner, knows how to run a business. Their customer service on the phone was exceptional, they were inviting and gave informative answers to questions. I was concerned I couldn't wait till the next day to have my vehicle serviced and the owner even recommended a place that he thought could get it done same day essentially forfeiting my business. Their prices were competitive compared to local Metairie/Kenner businesses as well. Also, the price quote given to me over the phone was without taxes and upon checkout I was upset because I didn't realize the quote didn't include taxes, but the owner took the $50 off due to the misunderstanding. That never happens. And unlike most automotive places, their waiting room is pleasant. They even had a Keurig. The reps (Jonathan to name one) was very welcoming and kind as well. I'm so happy to finally find a mechanic company I feel is trustworthy, fair, and ethical.

Got in for a brake job on a MONDAY! in by 1pm ( asked to wait on superior parts which was NO PROBLEM) and I was out by 3pm- NEarby places to wait if waiting room not your style- I am glad i went! I got OIL Changed at great cost and Brake job on my 2007 Toyo Sienna Would certainly recommend! Good, clean mechanics with great local contacts!
