Al and the team at Agape are first rate all around. They are the most trustworthy and honest auto repair folks I have dealt with in a long time. My short story .... Brought them a 2010 suburban for a second opinion ( after bringing it to the dealer) on a loud engine noise. For a very reasonable amount Al spent time opening up the engine and looking into the issue. While the news was not what I wanted to hear Al spent the better part of 30 minutes or more reviewing my options, some frankly speaking, would not benefit him at all. I really felt he was looking out for my best interest regardless of whether I would be additional billable work for his shop. What a true breath of fresh air Al brings to the auto repair business... Focusing on building long term customers not just the next work order.
I have six cars ( including my sad suburban) and we are now Agape customers for all our repair needs. These guys are first rate and honest through and through. Give Al a shot at your auto repair business, he's certainly earned mine, and I think you will be very happy!

12 years ago I moved into the Riverside Co. area and was looking for a dependable mechanic. Hitting the yellow pages I saw Al and his son, Dominic, in a father/son photo in the ad with the Christian fish symbol. I thought, "If you can't trust a Christian, who can you trust?" Al has saved me (literally) thousands of dollars over the past decade, and has been a wonderful friend too. His family works there as well, so the family business is top notch. They take great care of my truck and my wife's car too. They never sell you anything you don't need or pressure you either. Al always (patiently) explains what happened and what you need. I expect only the best from him, and that's what I receive...EVERY TIME!

I called Agape for a quote over the phone to compare to the dealership. Agape's price was 62 percent cheaper for the same work! I took my car in and was extremely satisfied with the girl at the front desk and with Al, who may be the owner. My car was finished in an hour and a half as promised. Great place. Everyone there was very helpful. I have been there twice now. I'll start with most recent I went threw a nightmare with another mechanic who broke my wife's doing a simple oil change I also got one done there. I had them inspect it. They took there time and made sure nothing was wrong with it. Which thankfully there wasnt. They were genuinely sympathetic and gave me a lot of good advice. The first time I went there was for an oil change an inspection and a brake job. They were very quick did everything correct my car still hasn't had any problems. There prices are very fair. There hard working and it's easy to tell the care about there customers and have a passion for what they do. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Hope this helps anyone considering going to them for the first time.

Agape is the most trusting mechanic I have ever been to. Al and his team are outstanding. I have been taking my cars to Agape for almost 10 years. Agape is fair, they are fast, and they give it to you straight. If something needs to be fixed immediately, they tell you. I love Agape! They have been wonderful! The staff was awesome and worked with me on my car problem! I had a car that we had them repair and then another problem came up and we decided not to keep the car any longer. Al inspected a used car I had purchased and even swapped around my rims and tires from my old car to my new car and didn't charge me any extra for it! Inland Empire's exemplary mechanic! I have had multiple cars maintained in one way or another through Agape within the past 3 to 4 years. The owner, Al, is everything you want from a mechanic and portrays an incredibly courteous, friendly, cheerful, professional and honest character. You are not left with any doubts or wondering what you paid for - as a female 20-something - this is a very comforting feeling!
So today I noticed a bolt in my garage accompanied by rattling and vibration from my engine while driving in 1st and 2nd gear. I immediately gave Al a call to tell him what I had found. Without hesitation, he invited me to bring the car in to have a look at where the bolt came from. Thank God I did - the mount from which the bolt fell out from was shot! Al quoted me fair and reasonable prices for parts and labor. He told me honestly what needed attention right away and what I could wait to repair if I was strapped for cash. He gave me realistic options without pressuring the work to be done at his shop. I was able to go to work, leave the car at the shop while they had the repairs done by the end of the work day! I highly recommend Al and his family's shop for any auto maintenance/repair :)

About five years ago I made a really bad used car purchased. As a young twenty year old who had just spent a lot of her savings I was feeling hurt and shocked that someone could do sell me a car like that. My dad took the car over to AGAPE to get it checked out and the mechanic said "We can't believe someone would do this to you." and did not charge us for looking at it.
I bought a new car after that and haven't needed work on it until now. When my car started acting up I called my dad to see the name of the place and he sent me back to Agape. I hate taking my car to dealers because I feel like they take advantage of me. At Agape I felt like the woman at the front explained what was happening to my car in language I could understand. They were efficient and inexpensive. The only thing lacking was that the chairs aren't comfortable. But for the service I would take a little bit of discomfort.
I will definitely recommend Agape to friends!

My daughter lives in Temecula and I needed someone to fix her first car. As you can imagine the worry I had sending her to a mechanic"?!?! Al is the most honest mechanic I've ever met.
I don't normally write review updates, but I owe it to him. I have a 2002 Mitsu Galant that's been parked in my garage since October 2010. The timing belt snapped and instead of getting it fixed, I bought a new car instead.
Impractical?
I should think so.
But due to foreseen circumstances, it was time to bring the Galant out of hiding. I knew the timing belt needed to be replaced but I didn't know that there were other components that needed upgrading as well. I also got a new starter and an Idle Control Valve. Mind you, only the dealer makes the control valve (this is an important detail that will be revisited at the end of the review).
So here's a list of items that were replaced with either factory or factory-quality parts:
Timing belt
Water Pump
Bearing (timing belt)
Starter
Idle Control Valve
This was a major repair and my bottom line was lower than I expected. You see, Al's been in business so long that suppliers give him better deals than other mechanics. Not only that, he pays his suppliers on time. After 24 years in the same location, you can rest assured that you will get the best price on the best part for your vehicle.
If you want to know how much I paid for everything, then please message me and I'll gladly gloat. But the car is running like a champ again and I only have Al to thank.

Most horrible place I've ever been to! I spent $1300 for them to fix my car that was over heating & 2 days after bringing it home it starts over heating again! They told me it was probably a blown head gasket & that I'd have to pay between $2,000-$3,000 to have that repaired. I just recently took it to another local mechanic who told me the last mechanic didn't do anything to my car & that to get a new head gasket replaced would only take $1500. This place has ripped off my whole family and I. Was supposed to be an honest Christian mechanic, they've ripped us off for thousands of dollars! Don't be fooled by the sticker in the window! Just advertising... They are not honest Christian people!

Didn't actually get my car worked on at this auto service place. But I called for some advice I changed out my own water pump and belts and I had a question about the mixture of antifreeze I need to go through my cooling system. AL answered the phone and spend about 10-15 minutes explaining to me what I needed to do as far as the anti-freeze to water ratio.I called Al in the past for advice and he's always been very helpful and this mechanic knows his stuff.

Great service, great people.
My car sprung a power steering leak as I was pulling out of the DMV so I drove the car over into thir parking lot to get into some shade. I didn't even know there was a Auto Repair shop until I got out of the car and looked up. Talk about luck!
Al came out and immediately saw the leak. Super nice guy with fast and HONEST service! I found my new mechanic!
Oh, and check out their parrots outside the shop dooors. There is one that makes car engine noises, like an engine cranking over.

Agape Auto has given me a lot of peace when I think about my vehicles. After moving to Temecula, I was really worried about finding an honest auto repair mechanic and I definitely didn't want to pay dealership prices. I brought my minivan to Al based on Yelp reviews, and I had the most pleasant service writing experience in my life. He calmly let me describe what I wanted to do and have checked out.
One of the best parts is that when he had diagnosed the problems in the car, he called the extended warranty company and got a ton of repairs approved -- which is not an easy task with these aftermarket warranties! When we got the car back, I didn't recognize it, it was night and day better. We had only bought it a year earlier (used) and thought it was supposed to sound noisy. Now it runs smooth and quiet.
I was so impressed I brought him my other car and he suggested some reasonable suspension repairs, and now I can't remember the last time my car felt so good. I'm very pleased and am very thankful to find a mechanic who lives his faith daily in his business.

My first time here. Al was very nice as previously noted in prior reviews. The problem with my car was bigger than I hoped as I suspected...here's the kicker: Al had a guy from an auto body shop come and inspect & advise on my car, like it was nothing!!! He estimated the time & possible cost associated with the necessary repairs...next thing I know, I'm leaving with the promise of a best case scenario quote to follow....
What you might have missed is this, he didn't say, sorry, I can't help you, go down the street & talk to some other guy, take more time out of your day, incur charges at his shop. Then come find me later to fix it later. No smoke & mirrors...the phone calls etc were right in front of me, no odd feeling that. "I really don't need most of this stuff he's suggesting but I probably should get it done before something bad happens" I will definitely be back. I have cars, they have some minor issues, we're going to Agape.

I was having issues with my vehicle intermittently for a few months and suddenly the day came that it just up and quit on me and for all the research and talk I could not pin point the problem... I called Agape Auto Repair late on a Friday morning and had my vehicle towed to their location.... I spoke with Al around 11:30am and he promised to call before the end of the day with news... not only did they call on time but they also had my vehicle repaired by the end of the day with an oil change to boot all for a heck of a lot less than what I was expecting!!! Great service from all employees I spoke with and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICE!!!

Temecula if you are looking for one of the last and rarest finds on the planet, a genuine honest mechanic, then look no further, you have found it at Agape Auto Repair! Al and his family are honest, very courteous, and were extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of my vehicles needs. We drove our Land cruiser across the country pulling a trailer the whole way through the 100+ desert heat and she basically collapsed when she finally made it here. Al and his expert crew were able to diagnose and fix her issues and bring her back to life, all at a fraction of the cost of what I KNOW I would be paying at the dealership! Needless to say, Agape Auto Repair has more than earned my business and we will be bringing all of our vehicles to Al and his family from here on out.

Al at Agape is a great guy, I recently had my Dodge Durango break down it wouldn't start and I had the worst fear that my keyless entry key had wiped out my computer on my sub.(it happened in the past and almost cost $400 last time) so I was told by the tow truck guys that it was probably the same issue again! So I am trying to figure out how I am going to pay for this again! Luckily I looked up Al and Agape and I read the reviews on Yelp and I took a chance. Thank God I did, not only was he very polite and professional he and his crew fixed my truck and just found a loose part that was causing my truck not to start! It was so simple! he only charged me for $ 75 for labor. I can t thank him enough for being so honest and saving me a lot of money! Any other mechanic would have ripped me off for sure and I wouldn't have been able to tell.
I will definitely be taking both my cars here from now on.

I love this place. You couldn't find a more honest mechanic if you tried! I needed a bulb replaced in my running lamp and was quoted a ridiculous amount from the dealer. I called Agape (my usual mechanic) and Dominic very honestly explained the process and why it could potentially cost an hour's worth of labor (something the dealership didn't bother to do). He even suggested I call an auto body shop which might be even cheaper. I did just that and saved a TON of money! I am always so impressed with the honesty and integrity of this business. I took my car into Agape Auto Repair and I really couldn't be happier with the results. First of all, what I thought was going to be an $800 repair turned out to be $75. He could have told me that what I needed was going to be that much and I'd have paid it, but he took the time to diagnose the problem and all it required was cleaning the censors. He didn't charge me extra, just the initial $75 diagnostic fee.
I am so pleased to have found an honest auto repair man when I am in Temecula. I HIGHLY recommend this place:)

I have been dealing with Al Maldonado for the past 9 months. We just moved to Temecula from Vancouver, Canada and finding a trustworthy, reliable and reasonable mechanic was a priority. I actually found Agape on Yelp while I was waiting at the Temecula DMV (Just down the street). We have a 2000 Honda Odyssey mini van and my wife drives my kids everywhere in this van, so knowing I could trust Al with the maintenance was important. He has exceeded my expectations every time we have been to the shop and he has been very good at communicating before doing any work. His shop is a class act and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic you get to know on a first name basis and you know he has your back.

I was need of a timing belt change, after going to the dealership and was told a 1000 for the timing belt and 400 for changing six spark plugs, I was beside myself. I was looking for a good mechanic on yelp and came across agape. From the first phone call and the quote, I was impressed with the professionalism. I called them a week prior to the work and said if I can't find someone to drive my family home he would even though he was swapped. I did not need him to drive me back, the thoughts counts. He advised me if the water pump was leaking he would replaced it. He had my car complete with spark plug change for more than half what the dealership wanted. He earned my respect and my business. my car was acting weird... so i looked up auto repair on yelp. this place sounded decent (and in true womanly style, i picked it because i like the name "agape"), so i figured i'd give it a try and see how much it hurt my pocketbook.
the problem was found quickly and inexpensively. al was super helpful and kind; neither my husband nor myself felt like we were being taken advantage of.
sadly, my car broke down in a couple of days (the non-urgent problem decided to become urgent). al found a replacement part as quickly and inexpensively as he could. it was fixed and has never run better!
i definitely recommend this place. they seem to have a great reputation in the community and are worth the try if you're looking for an honest mechanic.

Apage Auto repair is probably one of the few honest repair places in America. I was able to speak to Dominic and he never stopped assisting me with solving a problem that several other mechanics wanted to overcharge on. I told Dominic that I may need some major work completed on my vehicle, but the money needed to get the work done was over my budget. He agreed that the worked needed on my car would be expensive, but worked with me on getting only the parts needed at the prices that I could afford. Some of the parts he could not warranty because they were not parts that he would normally use, but he definitely guaranteed the labor. He never said that the labor would be cheap, but guaranteed to be upfront and honest about the work that would be done. I would highly recommend Agape Auto Repair as a place that you should always consider when looking for a mechanic to do work on your vehicle.

I highly recommend Agape Auto Repair. The service was great, Al was super nice, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I took my Honda Civic CNG to him because I bought the car used and on the way home from purchasing the car, the transmission when out. Luckily the dealer took the car back and replaced the transmission without charge. However I was concerned over some noises and other small vibrations while the car idled. Al explained to me what the issues were and made recommendations and a time frame for possible repairs I may need to make in the future. He never pressured me and I felt he was very honest when talking to me.
In addition to the great service, you can't beat his price. I will take all of my auto needs to this place in the future.
