What is it about Five Star Automotive Repair that makes me return again and again for all of my car services? Is it the familial place where you feel like you're being taken care of? Is it Joe's insane skills at finding the right issue with my car every time? Is it the hour they spent on the phone trying to find the best deal for me for an expensive part?
I have been a happy customer ever since this place has been under Joe's management. It is such a pleasure to walk in and be greeted by your name and made to feel like you're the best customer in the world. I live in San Diego, but have commuted to work in LA many times. I always schedule an appointment for maintenance service on the way there and be in and out in a timely matter.
I highly recommend this place.

First of all let me start by saying I never post reviews on Yelp. I came by the shop because my brake light was on. Upon going to other shops their diagnosis was that I needed both front and rear rotors and pads! The costs ranging from $450-$600! I came by 5 Star Auto because I heard that they were honest and straight forward and boy was that true!!! Right when I came in I was greeted by Jack and he came outside immediately to cater to my needs. He attentively took down my information and waved over the nearest tech to get started on my vehicle. They were packed with cars and I was still able to get my car in within 15 minutes!! Joe (the owner) looked at my car and said all I needed was front pads and rotors and the price he gave me was very reasonable. What I liked most was his honesty. It is very rare to see that now a days in the auto industry. I am a customer for life!! Thanks 5 Star Auto for the amazing service and utmost professionalism.

As someone who isn't very knowledgeable about cars, I really appreciate someone finally explaining to me how everything works. I was about to get ripped off by my dealership (saving me more than $400!), and I'm so lucky that I talked with Joe and his son instead! I highly recommend this wonderful, family-owned business!

Great Service! Very knowledgeable in their craft and what they were doing. I brought my car in for an AC compressor issue and Joe the owner and head mechanic was very nice and explained to me all the different options I have in going about the issue. They explained absolutely everything. I left feeling very comfortable because there was no grey area, in what needed to be done.
Being a college student it is important for me to get this type of obligation done with the cheapest and most reliable way possible, and bringing my car here was perfect for that. They brought up the option that other places never mentioned... rebuilding it in house, which saved me A LOT of money. I ended up taking this route and had them rebuild the whole compressor in house which saved me a whopping $250. My AC has been working wonderfully ever since and I'm ready for the hot weather coming soon!. I strongly recommend this place to anyone.

Great service. I went in for a check engine light. They checked it and gave me suggestions. They were honest and friendly. I felt right at home. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is clueless about car repairs. They inform you of options, and they will not rip you off.

Was driving through Moreno Valley when i felt like there was something wrong with one of my front wheels. I found this place and from the beginning the owner made me feel a lot better. He checked out everything and explained what was wrong with my car. After that I felt very comfortable leaving my car with him. They really are a fantastic mechanic shop and honestly pretty cheap as well.

I took my car in a couple months ago to get my rotors fixed. Joe is probably one of the few mechanics that I actually trust! I went in and they took a look at my car right away. The diagnostics was free and they got to work right away. Joe sanded down my rotors and all I paid for was labor and new brake pads. When it came time to pay, my card wouldn't read, and Joe was nice enough to offer to take me to the ATM himself so I can withdraw cash. I ended up going with one of his customers since the shop was pretty busy that day. Overall, I had great service, nothing was done without my permission, and my car is running good as new. I'll definitely be coming back if anymore repairs are needed on my car.

Their service was awesome. Everyone was super nice and had a drop everything attitude when it came to their customers. I love how their prices were appealing to my budget, and the quality of service was extraordinary. Joe was super helpful and explained everything to me in a manner that I actually understood. Drove my car in on Saturday 1/10/15 with a noisy flywheel. Matt said they would charge $350 to pull the transmission and look at the flywheel to see what the problem was. Matt called me and told me that there were 2 flywheel bolts which broke off in the housing, and that the other 6 were loose. I come here to get my car worked on because it's better then places I have been to. The hospitality is very friendly, you get a great vibe from the owner. The owner and mechanic are very informative with what is going on and really needs to be done. It's awesomely affordable. I can sit and wait for my car service peacefully knowing it's getting done professionally to be safe. My family and friends come here they know there is no place better. Finally a Honest,Reliable auto repair shop. It is ASE certified and charges reasonable prices. very experienced staff. Both my vehicles had the timing belts changed, quick job. all problems address, a ride home, phones calls to let me know what was going on. GREAT SERVICE- Matt the owner keep up the good work.
