I took in my 99' Tacoma truck in for an alignment after getting new tires. The steering wheel has been out of whack for a long time. Tried to have it re-aligned at Sears a year ago they really didn't align it right. The steering wheel was still like 5 degrees to the left.
Because of th new tires, I decided to get it realign again and found a $20 coupon for Brake Master and decided to give them a try.
The sales rep wrote me up for the typical alignment, something like $89-$20 (coupon) =$69. I then waited and about 20 minutes later, he called saying that mines is pretty bad and they needed to add shims and pull it straight, which will cost me around $130 total or so.
I decided to proceed with the repair and it took about 1.5 hour for the job.
But that was money well spent since the steering wheel is now on center and there is no drifting left or right.

Created a Yelp account just to write this review. DONT GO HERE. My car was making a noise and I saw it was missing a bolt near the wheel bracket. Took and car here and spoke to the manager/owner ( I'm not sure) told him what had happened and ask if he or one of his employees could come out to the parking lot to look at it. He told me it would be a Minimum of 45 dollars. Even if it was something they would not be able to fix. He was rude and not helpful at all.
I asked again if he or an employee could just bend down to look at the problem and tell me if they can fix it. He refused and stated " I'm running a business." Well I took my business across the street and they were able to fix my car.

The front desk person "Oscar" is rude. Been here for an hour and asked how long it will be to get my car looked at. He told me his guys were on lunch. I don't know how long their lunch is but there was no communication with me(male). But he spoke like a bird to the other two lady's in the lobby with me. So as a first time visiter I will not return here for air in my tire. I will drive on flat and no brakes before I turn in a #BrakeMaster. Good luck trying to ask a question.

SUMMARY: Poor customer service, poor mechanical practices, steer clear folks.
I was referred here by America's Tire after they cross threaded one of my wheel studs about a year ago. I walked in and spoke with the Manager Alvaro "Al" Cruz. I explained the referral and he was prepared to charge me $70 for the service unless I had America's Tire call and give him a verbal okay.
Once I called America's Tire (THEY are very professional) they quickly called Al. Standing only a few feet from Al, he proceeds to lie and tell them I said the stud was damaged a few days ago. I confronted Al about this fact to which he is quick to talk to me like a child, saying he "assumed" it was a few days ago because why would ANYONE wait a year to get the stud repaired. Well AL, some of us have busy lives and since America's Tire didn't leave me missing a lug nut, I was in no rush. Bottom line, Al you lack customer service skills and I will be sure to tell people to steer clear of your shop. I will drive to Norco next time.
Not to mention I walk over to see the service being performed only to see the technician left my caliper HANGING by the brake line. REALLY? I asked my pal Al about this, but of course he defended it while again trying to make me feel dumb saying that it's not a problem unless it's a 100k plus vehicle with brittle brake lines. I'm just a garage mechanic but even I know you shouldn't let the caliper hang by the brake line, you suspend it from the frame or somewhere above the axle.

Came here for break pad change and oil change. I asked the mechanic how long will it take since I'll be waiting here. The mechanic said "it will not take that long" and we will get your car done "shortly." 2 and a fifteen hours later. The mechanic came back and told me the front breaks needed to be changed. All this time I thought they were working on it already. Not a single thing was done. Completely wasted my time. I don't know what the deal is weather they were short staff atleast be honest and tell me. Also, price for front break pads and oil change cost 209!!! Considering I have a coupon of 48 dollars from Americas tires. I called other places since I'm waiting for my car to be done. Roughly break pads change cost average about $140. Some shady business.
3 hours later.....I'm still here.

I had never heard of this place until I got referred by America's Tire center. AT doesn't offer alignment service and it's very important you follow with that service because of your investment on new tires. Anyway, the store is located on a very busy street (Sierra) and it's strictly a brake shop with other services available like alignment, oil change. I arrived at 3:00 pm on a Saturday and it was busy but they were able to accommodate and I am great full because I would've had to waited till next Saturday had I been turned away. Our conversation got off on the right direction and didn't seem to have a issue working on a newer Volvo XC90, parts are limited and need to go through Volvo at times. I was told it would be around 6PM for completion and I accepted. I asked about also having oil service and they agreed despite work load. The return call came much earlier to which is always good news, it was ready by 5PM. Service manager went over the alignment readings and it was in desperate need of canter alignment and toe alignment, very off. My overall experience was excellent dealing with the manager with his attentive mannerism to make sure I understood the mechanics of alignment. I scheduled my truck for next Saturday. Competely satisfied :)

I took my Honda civic in for a front and rear brake job with rotors. After waiting for hours in the waiting room a "tech" walks up to me and shows me his dirty gloved finger and proceeds to tell me that my brake system has been contaminated and that I need new calipers on the front. I immediately call his BS, telling him that it was not contaminated before my visit here and that my calipers have been in perfect working order prior to my visit. I usually do my own brake work, but had been sort on time and decided to take it into a shop, so I knew he was bs'ing me right away. After calling his bluff he nods and ducks back into the garage saying he'll see what he can do to help me out. Miraculously after leaving me sitting for another hour he says that they were some how able to work out the issues and that I would only need a brake fluid flush. Finally after 5 and a half hours they are done with my car and at that point I'm just happy to pay him so I can leave.
The drama didn't end there, the brake job they had performed was one of the worst I'd ever had. My system was now noisy and had a spongy peddle. So I took my car back in to have them fix the crappy brake job they did. After an hour of waiting they bring my car around again and its basically the same and no issues had been resolved. At that point I decided I wasn't bringing my car back here again.
Here is the biggest kicker. I had decided to do my next brake job at home for fear of receiving another crapy job. In the process of the repair I noticed that my bottom brake caliper mounting plate was missing a bolt (this is what hold your caliper to your car so you can actually stop.) Both sides had been missing a bolt on the bottom actually and needed to be replaced, I assumed they had simply vibrated loose since brake masters probably didn't torque them properly. Turns out that both sides had been completely stripped out and they had simply shoved a cheep heli-coil (thread replacement) in its place as the threads simply fell out while I was trying to tighten the new bolts. It was at that time that it occurred to me that he had been trying to buy himself time when he claimed my my calipers were bad because the plate isn't sold separately from the dealer and is actually sold as a set with a new caliper. So had I rolled over and agreed to the repair I would have had to buy two new calipers because they have zero accountability and would not be wiling to pay for their own screw ups.
TL;DR: Crappy customer service, viciously deceptive up-sale tactics, zero accountability for their mistakes. This let me drive off their property in a dangerous vehicle and likely could have cost me my life had I not repaired the issue sooner. They have complete disregard for your safety and only care about getting your money.
Do not have your vehicle services here, it may cost you much more than you bargained for.

This is the BEST service I have received in a very long time, and I will definitely be back for more! I came in to get an oil change before a long trip to Laughlin, Nevada and I was in & out in about 20 minutes, even with cars ahead of mine being worked on. Great customer service and very fast and accurate work. The manager Al Cruz was extremely nice and very helpful. Also, It was kind of interesting watching how they align tires on a big machine. The staff definitely knew how to handle their equipment. After examining my tires Al let me know there was a nail in one, which i was extremely glad he told me about before i took the long drive out of town. An employee by the name of Levvi was also very helpful. He made me feel appreciated and thanked me for my business. I am so glad I tried this place. Brake Masters will have my business from now on!

If I could give less than one star I would. This business is running a total scam. I went in for my brakes to be inspected. I knew that they would try to up sell me on some type of repair. Just because I am a female, they must have thought I was dumb and do not know anything about working on vehicles. Well they got that one wrong. Not only did they try to tell me that I had to replace my axel for a torn CV boot, but it was for the exact same repair that they suggested the last time I was there almost a year ago that was already repaired by the dealership. Where they tried to show me where oil was "spewing" all over, was dried dirt and CV boot grease. When I called the manager out on it, he didn't know what to say. Nice try brake masters. You are not about to swindle this girl out of $250. Thought this was suppose to be a honest and reliable company, guess not!!!!

This place is slow. Americas tire recommended this place. I called and they said no problem, very short wait. Drove over and it took almost 2 hours to get it inside, then they went to lunch, it has been almost 3 hours and it is still not done. All I needed was an alignment.
My recommendation is if your time is valuable try somewhere else.

I honestly cannot relate to the negative reviews previously listed - my experience was nothing short of pleasant. Customer service was excellent - got a great deal on the services that I came in for (oil change and battery replacement), and everything was done in less than an hour. Super pleased and would recommend to others.

this is the worst place I have been to, the place is called brake masters, and after getting the worst oil change I have gotten, I take my car to another shop after hearing a noise that was not there before I took my car to this place, and they tell me one brake pad is at 10% and the other is at 50%. thanks "brake" masters. please do not go here for the safety of your car, and your own life. only gave it one star because it wouldn't let me give zero

Hubby & I came here few times, but last time left a bad taste in my mouth. It's frustrating when your busy with work and running errands, and all you want is a quick oil change, but when you walk into an auto place, sometimes they see a woman by herself and take you for a fool. So you go in with for a quick oil change, and they come back with a list of things adding up to hundreds of dollars that you need done to your car. I've never had a bad experience with my car, it's been super duper dependable, but when it was time to pick up my car, my battery was completely dead. it wouldn't even take the charge. I found this extremely strange. Nonetheless I refused to do any additional services, and had to get a new battery. I have not returned since.

This place sucks!!!! I got a new tires from American tires and they referred and give me coupon for this place, so I called and ask how much is alignment for my car. The guy on the phone quoted me $109 without me telling them that I got a coupon from American tires. When I got to the shop the guy in the front told me it's $109 for a alignment for my car so I told him I got a coupon for $20 and the said well it's $129 without a coupon and it's $109 with a coupon. Wtf?!?!? I got quoted $109 on the phone without me telling them I have a coupon. A few days past by I noticed that my car is pulling to the right so I call this shop to tell them about it so the guy on the phone told me to come by so they can check it. Once I got to the shop the guy in the front dest told me that there's nothing they can do about that. He told me to take my car to american tires where I got my tires so they can rotate my tires. They made me drive to their shop to tell me that?? Really?? They've just tell me that on the phone. IM NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE!!! People take your business somewhere else. These people don't care about you, they just want to take your money.

My wife has been getting her oil done here for a quite a few years. I brought it in yesterday just for an oil change and it's a fairly quick service. The use Penzoil which is a fair okay oil brand to use. There were already about 5 customers in front of me getting work done on their cars but I still got my car done in less than 30 minutes.

First Off, let me start by saying that these mechanics are some lazy dudes. I came in their shop on 8-11-12 for a wheel alignment. 2 of their guys were in the front lobby reading magazines and watching T.V. with no regard to my need to get service done on my vehicle so I was ignored. That was a huge fail on their end. I finally got some service after 10 minutes of waiting mind you the Other Mechanics still there chopping it up with each other like its Club Med. After 45 minutes I got my car back. I paid for the Service and left. I noticed right after that my alignment was not what I was expecting. Steering still veered to the right. Came back the next day to Tell Manager about my issue. He told me the reason for my steering wheel veering to the right was due to the front right tire being worn out. You'd figure a good shop would give you that kind of heads up after the service so you wouldn't think they did a crappy job. I explained to him I was frustrated about the service and not the Tire being worn out. I had asked why weren't any of the He had a smirk and laughed. I called him out on that and he said that he didn't wanna get into an argument. So not only was he deflecting my question (which was a legitimate one) but he tried deflecting my question with his response which was and I quote "Ive been doing this for 17 years" which is code for you don't know what your talking about only I do which is an insult to a customer. Manager was not genuine and I wouldn't recommended their service to anyone. Take your hard earned money and go elsewhere.

I got new tires on my 06 Nissan Maxima and wanted to have a 4 wheel alignment done. I found a coupon in the paper that was for the Norco, CA location. I had work done there several years prior without any problems. I went online and found many negative reviews for the particular location. I knew there was another location in Fontana and not finding any negative reviews, I decided to visit the Fontana shop. I spoke Ken, the manager, day prior to inquire about the cost of an alignment. He gave me a quote for a 2 wheel and a 4 wheel alignment. He also stated that if they got it up on the rack and the back wheels were within specs, he would only alignment the front wheels. I found a $10 off an alignment coupon online and set out the following day to have the work done. I was the second person in line, and work was done within 30 minutes. Ken accepted my coupon without any problems and did not charge me extra for having 18" rims on my car. He also did not try to push any unnecessary services and gave me a print out of how each wheel was corrected. I have no complaints about the Fontana Brake Masters, maybe they need to send Ken over to the Norco location to clean that shop up and bring it back to it's former glory!

First off, great location in middle of town off sierra. Other exhaust shops are hard to find or in areas that you cant get to in a lowered car. Was greated instantly without having to look for someone as with most shops. Fixed the problem with no upsale pressure or trying to talk me into anything else. Great price and great repair, didn't have an appointment and wasnt treated like scum when I didnt have one.

Good welder at a fair price but dishonest. I went to Gorilla’s Muffler like I have been doing for the last 4 years but this experience was different. I bought a car with a bad catalytic convertor but I had a very low mile one put away. When I asked if it would fit and work he said yes. It did work by the way. He said $50 which is good but the problem came when he tried to remove the 02 sensor on the catalytic convertor. He told me it was very tight and he needed to use a impact gun. He also said it had a small dent on it but I told him I just came back from a smog place the day before and they all passed but I needed the cat and a cam gear which is unrelated. He was holding channel lock plyers which are obviously not intended to remove 02 sensors like a simple $30 02 wrench or a $10 02 socket which he used on the impact gun. I knew 02 sensors were delicate, when I asked around other muffler shops I was told you never use a impact gun on a 02 sensor because they have a ceramic core which is easily breakable. I got home and went to check to see if I could pass the catalytic converter test and it did but it immediately kept on showing a short on the 02 sensor he said had a dent. I removed it to check it and it was obvious that I had just been damaged by Gorilla Muffler because the dents were very shinny like when you apply pressure on metal. I called Gorilla Muffler and the owner said it wasn’t him so I drove to his shop to show him how obvious the newly exposed metal showed it was him since no one had touched it for the 2 weeks I have had it. He said he understood why I would think that but it wasn’t him. He said I see the newly exposed metal but that was coincidence that it is broken now and shows an immediate short. This was no coincidence but a mistake that he could have easily been honest about and tried to replace it or even just offered me my money back. I had even given him an extra $10 before I knew he trashed the 02 sensor. Bottom line this guy does good work at fair prices but is dishonest and he would rather lose a long time customer then to be honest about a mistake.
