Frankly, I only review on Yelp when I've had a particularly good experience or a particularly bad one. I don't really bother with the in between.
A few weeks back, I bought an 06 mini with high mileage knowing that it would need a bit of work to be fully road ready. Chose to bring it into A&D based on Yelp reviews, location, and the fact that they specialized in BMWs and Minis.
Asked them to do a full inspection, and they ended up replacing a leaking gasket and worn out front brakes for a very reasonable price. A week later, I had some issues with the coolant, and they graciously took a look at it. Although no problems were evident, they inspected and refilled my coolant at no charge. Will need to keep my eye on it to see if it happens again. This week, noticed that the engine was still leaking oil - leaky crank shaft. The guys at A&D owned up to not finding the problem the first time around and did the work at no charge.
On top of all that, these guys are knowledgable and communicate well with customers (not just with me, but other customers I've seen going in and out of the shop).
Despite having to go into the shop more often that I would've liked, I have found A&D to be good to work with and highly reliable.

I haven't spent a penny for their service but I am writing a review to share my first experience with them. I got my car warranty expiring soon, so I called them up to schedule an appointment for a full inspection. Adam (the owner) asked me about any concerns about my car, and he listened to my two little complaints about my car that might not actually be any problems, but he still took a drive to see if he feels anything wrong right away. Then he also got my car up and had it checked visually. In the end, everything looks good and he said it's FREE! He spent like half an hour on my car and he doesn't charge me any which I think I owe him a review. So here it is! Thanks Adam. I will be back to you after my warranty expires.

Trust and through knowledge of your car is extremely important! I brought my Highlander in do to a check engine light and Dominic reported back to me on a loose hose and he fixed it promptly and I was on my way! He could of said ANYTHING and pretty much your stuck on what they say and do. Are you really going to drive around waste time on 2nd -3rd opinions?
These guys are the best and most honest Mechanics around! And also HUGE Sharks and Barracuda fans to boot! 1st class operations!

I definitely recommend this place 5 stars to the top. The mechanics seem to know what they are doing. Adam and/or Dominique were professional over the phone and in person scheduling my appointment and/or concerns. I have a 2005 Audi A4, and maintenance for it can sometimes be challenging. Especially when your searching for a reputable company. I kept my options open. Thank goodness I was able to complete and resolve issues with my car here. This place has a friendly and cool atmosphere/environment. Waiting area maybe limited, which shouldn't be s problem if you schedule your vehicle to be service in advance and return upon completion. I'm 19 years old & I drive a 2010 BMW 328i. It's can be so hard to get people to take me seriously. But all the guys here actually listen and they explain what's going on and it's amazing! Like, I took my car the BMW to fix an issue and the service rep completely blew me off, they kept my car for a week & didn't even fix anything! But then I found A&D for an oil change and I mentioned to Dom what was going on with my car. He immediately had some ideas about what was going on. And it only took them a day to fix it. That was months ago, but since then I've continued having some issues with my car. I've continued taking it back to A&D and they have continually gone above and beyond to help me out.

This is long overdue.
My Lexus 350H is no longer under warranty. My last visit to the Lexus service dealership cost me a pretty penny. So for my 90K tuneup I took a chance and brought my car to A&D.
Adam said they could do my tuneup and at a reasonable cost. He did an excellent job.
I liked the fact that he didn't talk down to me - an older female.
I missed the dealership perks of free beverages and snacks and a clean car at the end; but A&D saved me about $500. That buys me a lot of snacks. And I did take my car in for a wash that cost about $20 including tip.
I'll return to Adam's for my future service needs - I enjoyed their great care, service, and attitude. I felt very comfortable having my car service by them.
Oh and they gave me a "Kama'aina" discount! So a sixth star for that!

I had a great experience at A&D. I called, and spoke to Adam, I explained to him that my daughters mini was not holding a charge. He advised me to bring the car in and they would take a look at it. After having to jump start my daughters mini, we drove it to his shop, on the spot Adam came out and went through a list of possible issues. My daughter and I left the car there for about a half hour to get a bite to eat, upon our return, Adam had diagnosed and fixed the problem. In addition to diagnosing and addressing the problem, without an appointment, he didn't charge me for the service!! A&D definitely has my repeat business!!

Taken my car here a couple times. Once for a new battery another for something small. Service is always good. Pricing is also very competitive. Technicians are super knowledgeable about BMWs. Sometimes hard to get a call through but other than that, can't complain.

I have had my BMW serviced twice by A & D Autowerks. I couldn't be happier with their customer interaction, pricing and work. I had received 2 quotes from other businesses for an expensive module and had postponed replacing it. Working with Adam, they were able to do the work for almost half what the other businesses had quoted. I also appreciate having an auto repair shop tell me work DIDN'T need to be done, rather than the laundry list most other shops try to persuade you to have done. Recommend you try this shop!!

(Issue: no start, no crank on my 2000 bmw x5)
I hate to write an updated negative review for them because I am a true yelper and honest with all my reviews but I have to.
Here's the story: Thursday-July 19, 2015 my car went on limp mode and was able to park it at my house and when I turned off the engine because I was worried, when I started it back again, it wouldnt start back on. No crank nothing! Just lights on my dash. I called A&D autowerks to see if they are available to check my car the following day because I have to tow it to them after work. They said "yes just bring it over". They are very accommodating because It was an emergency situation so the next day before I went to work I passed by and they said they will call me when they got the diagnosis. Afternoon, they called me back to update me and they said it might be the immobilizer etc., so they need to diagnose it more. The following day, they called me to tell that Adam must see the car because he has more experience, unfortunately he will be back tuesday the following week. I said ok, I cannot drive my car anywhere anyway. Wednesday I called they said, its the gear selector module that needs replacement and the part alone cost around $800 on special order from BMW plus labor for a Total of $1088. I said "lets go ahead fix it". So they ordered the part they said hopefully by friday it will arrive. I called Friday, part wasnt there yet. Called again by Monday, they said the part that was delivered was not the right part so they have to send it back. (Still patiently waiting) I waited till Tuesday (August 4) they said my car is ready. *happy
Had my friend pick up my car that Tuesday bec I work until 6:30 pm they are closed by 5. She picked it up, drove it home and parked it. The next day im about to go to work, started the car, no crank no start! *arghh! Back to the original problem. I called same day that I have the same problem as from day one and I needed to tow it back to A&D autowerks again. ( too much hassle and time spent already) the next day I called and they said, they could t explain why a circuit keeps on blowing up. I said "please try to figure it out because I badly needed a car and I only rely on my brothers car, We just juggle our tine to make it work it is very hard and lots of sacrifice just going to work everyday". They said they understand. Next day, they said it might be the alternator. I told them, if there is a rebuilt one, i could just use that because im getting too frustrated and spent $1088 already. They said ok, they found me one for $200. Said ok, put it in. Another day had passed, they said its not the alternator, so they wont charge me for it. They said they even consulted BMW on the possible causes of my car. So theyre trying to eliminate possible problem at a time. So they said it might be the Transmission control module and it costs about $1200 from BMW and they could get a used one from ebay for $250. I said awesome. Lets do it! Otherwise, its the transmission itself. I firmly told them that my transmission is not at all acting up or have had any symptoms so I am sure its not the transmission. TCM arrived on August 20,2015. Replaced, still no luck on starting. Adam particularly was in charge of my car and finally admitted he could not fix my car. (Went in an argument with him for not wanting to refund my money because he said he had spent tons of time on my car) as a customer, I have agreed with them and patiently waited for a month for them to fix my car with all the sacrifices without your own car is very difficult especially when you work mon- sat from 8:30-6:30. Its my daily ride and hearing from them that I need to send it to the dealer because they couldnt fix it anymore is not acceptable. The reason why I brought my car to A&D is because of their great reviews and years of BMW experience (as they claim) unfortunately, the stress, time and inconvenience that I have gone through while my car is with them was not truly valued as they thought I have all the patience in the world for them to trial and error my car. I felt very disappointed about what they claim regarding their 14 yrs of BMW experience. I put my trust and confidence with them. They did not deliver any of my expectations. Its sad to write this very long story but its the truth. Finally agreed to refund my money despite the parts that were replaced. I said to put the old parts back instead. I would feel bad by not giving them $125 for the diagnostic fee as they have spent some of their time as well.. Im sorry Adam, but this time I am truly disappointed and I needed to write my experience from your establishment. Time is valuable and trying to fix it for a month is not acceptable. You should've just referred me straight to the dealer if at the 2 week mark, it has not been fixed still. Paying a little extra to the dealer is better because for sure they will be able to give you good news despite the money you may need to spend.

Simply put, these guys get it done right.
I knew from a few weeks ago that my 60K service was coming up real quick, so I decided to do some research on where to take my car next. Rewind 20,000 miles ago and the VW dealer charged me nearly $600 for the "major "tune up. Sure, I may have been in a better peace of mind by having the work done by a reputable shop, but my wallet definitely felt A LOT lighter after that.
When all is said and done, I knew that there are other reliable ways of getting the same work completed. Smaller shops are often overlooked because there are so many of them. I came across A&D because of their reputation on Yelp and had a well felt gut feeling about them.
Either on the phone or in person, every single one of the people I came in contact with were extremely courteous and professional.
Yet, no business can be perfect. There is one huge flaw that could possibly end any future visits to this honored establishment.

Stopped by because I heard they fix Mini Coopers. My mini needed some work on the bumper after catching a bump in a parking lot. They were super friendly and helpful and checked out my car thoroughly. Turns out that I only needed to get a screw replaced. They did that for FREE and tuned up my car a bit too! Super grateful for their wonderful service. I will only go to them from now on for servicing.

Adam and Dominic are the best! I have a BMW 3-series that I have serviced at A&D almost exclusively.
They helped me diagnose a particularly hard-to-diagnose Check Engine light, and it took several visits to get to the bottom of it. During each visit, they disassembled one area of interest, looked around and tested, and put the thing back together and charged me NOTHING until they found the root cause of the issue. We finally nailed the problem: a fuel injector bank going bad. The issue was then fixed for a reasonable price.
Adam and Dominic are trustworthy, honest, and easy-going. They don't use scare tactics or sleazy tricks to get your money. They charge reasonable rates, and they don't pad your bill with services you don't need.
If you have a BMW or Mini that's out of warranty, go to A&D instead of your dealership for service. Your wallet and your sanity will thank you, and you'll meet a bunch of awesome people in the process.

It's rare these days to get a free diagnosis, from there they let me know what was necessary vs. a nice to have and what I could prolong without further damaging things. A&D quoted me the lowest price out of 5 other top ranked yelp choices. The work was amazing, I brought my 2008 750i in with a whistling engine issue. A&D inspected my car and found that it was a different issue and kept my car over night. The next day the issue was located and fixed. After it was all said and done I had 3 separate procedures and it was still cheaper than most most other places quoted me for just one. Great group of honest professionals. I will definitely be brining my car back here for any and everything! Thank you!!!!

Excellent service! I brought by a 2012 Mini Clubman today for a pre sale inspection, having called in advance. Dominic did a through inspection, and then patiently walked me through everything that might signal an issue. He pointed out one spot to watch for a leak, and explained the two off codes.
I'm absolutely delighted with this shop, and bought used from a dealer knowing what I was getting. I'd be delighted to have A&D as my regular shop.

After coming from De Anza Auto Repair this place was heaven.
Side note: never bring your bmw to De Anza Auto Repair, they dont even know how to take the body cover off not to mention they don't have a computer to check.
I made an appointment with the guys at A&D Autowerks for a 2pm pre-purchase inspection for a 2007 BMW 530i I was planning on getting. This was important to me because this would be my first car. The guys knew their way around a bmw, checked quickly yet thoroughly and had a computer check the codes with a print out.
There was only 1 error code which was inconsequential (adam was quite surprised that the car was so well taken care of actually). He just recommended a change of the front brakes with a fairly priced quote. Nothing like the $3,500 of repairs De Anza auto repairs was trying to scam from me (from faulty transmission fluid to worn control arms, struts and shocks).
For BMW's/MINI's: these guys are excellent, honest and quick. All you could ask for and that validates their 5 star reviews all around. Kudos!

These guys are awesome. I dropped my BMW off to have them look at a suspension issue I've been having. They test drove it and recommended that I try getting an alignment first, before spending money on replacing stuff. Imagine my surprise when there was no charge for the inspection! This has become my go to mechanic. They are always responsive when I leave a message the night before and they call back right away the next day. They are always able to take my car in as well. They also offer discounts on rental cars if needed. I recently went here to repair a splash guard on my underside of the car and they repaired it free of charge and helped drive my car back to my house since I drove separate when my car was towed there. They also are extremely nice and professional. They work on both our BMW and Audi and we are happy with their service. Their new location is very clean and professional looking as well.

I have a 2000 BMW 328i. While I haven't had any major issues yet, it's getting to an age where things are naturally wearing out. Recently my serpentine belt broke while I was driving on highway. Thankfully I was just exiting and didn't lose control. Since I couldn't drive the car anymore, I had to look for a shop close to where the car broke down. I found A&D on Yelp with its great reviews and decided to give it a try.
Adam scheduled me for the next day. He was professional, straight forward, and patient. I stupidly ran my car for about a mile after the belt broke and the engine almost overheated! Adam examined the engine and assured me that I narrowly avoided a costly mistake. I ended up changing two belts, two tensioners, and a pulley. The price was very competitive.
A week later, my coolant light came on and I wasn't sure if it was related the failure before. I brought it back to A&D and it turned out to be a leaky plastic screw cap on the coolant tank. The screw basically disintegrated with age and broke as we removed it. They had to drill it out and then fill the tank back with coolant. Although this was unrelated to the first repair, they only charged me for the replacement plastic screw! I was very impressed by their commitment to their customer.
I've been to many shops around the South Bay for BMW service. A&D is among the best and they will be my go-to shop for my many future services.

Nice place to get your BMW service ! amazing guys ! very knowledgable ! Reasonable price with good service ! I took my BMW 328i 2009 coupe to these guys for front brake services. Tried to compare quotes with other good service places (searched on yelp). They had good price and got my brakes. First 2 days I was worried that brakes were poorly performing compared my old one. So after 2 days I called them up and gave my feedback about new brakes. They explained me that brakes have to get used to new rotors and give it like a week or so. After a week big difference ! worked amazing.
The 2nd experience was, I bought interior lights in amazon and found it difficult to install them for front interior lights. Went to these guys for help. I just asked them a question on how to fit them. I expected them to give a way to install them; instead they fixed it for me out of courtesy of being a customer! awesome ! Will be going soon for rear brakes, break fluid change and 60k service too ! will update the new review once I get these done ! stay tuned ;-)

Don't buy a Mini Cooper. I know they're cute, I know you've been thinking about it for a while. Don't. Trust me on this.
If your wife HAS TO HAVE one, and you give in after a ton of eye rolling and sighing, in a few thousands miles when it starts to fall apart, take it to A&D. Trust me on this too.
Problem number three so far was a coolant leak at 56K miles... Wait, did I buy a '79 Camaro or a 2008 Mini Cooper?
The Mini dealer in Pleasanton wanted slightly over $900 to change my leaking thermostat housing. You should have heard the BS they let fly when I asked why! Oh, and lets not forget it was going to take a few days so they'd be glad to provide me with a rental car. Here's a thought: change my $120 part in the two hours you're charging me for, then let me go home in my own car, on time, for a reasonable price. Impossible? Must be!
Adam at A&D HANDLED it. I called a few days ahead and made an appointment to come by. I rolled up about 2:00pm. The shop gave me a ride to Starbucks so I could kill some time. Then he swapped my thermostat housing out for a new Mini OEM one in two hours. The shop picked me up, charged me less than half of what the dealer wanted and let me drive home... wait for it.... IN MY OWN CAR, ON TIME, FOR A REASONABLE PRICE.
Well done A&D. I'll see you for the next Mini Cooper design flaw, probably sooner than I would like.

The first question I ask myself is why I did not bring my car to these guys sooner!
I have been dealing with the BMW dealership since I purchased my car a number of years ago.
I am really diligent about taking car of the cars I have owned and my BMW was no exception. However when I ended up every week (no lie) back at the dealership when one thing after another after another went wrong, that was it. I will not even go into all the things which went wrong at once (coincidentally these things would happen when I would drive away from the dealership) but enough was enough.
I asked around and the resounding response was A&D Autowerks. Again why did I not go here sooner. Adam took me right in, drove around with me in my own car back to my office (smartest thing to do so I could discuss the issues I was having) and unlike the dealer (who, on two different occasions took 1 week to diagnose a problem even after I brought it back twice and went for a drive with them) was able to give me a call that afternoon and explain to me that they had an idea what it was but to make certain, they wanted to keep it a bit longer.
The next day they told me what was wrong, told me how long it would take to get the part, the cost and also, which was a first for me, told me that as this was a complicated issue, it may only solve 75% of the issue. Normally the dealer would guarantee 100% the problem would be fixed. Adam was honest and I never felt pressured into making a decision. He told me to take my time and think on it.
I cannot say enough about A&D Autowerks and don't hesitate to give them a call and bring your car in as you will not be disappointed with them and their level of service.

I usually dole 5*s with utter care. But I tell ya these guys deserve the stars right away. Great fast service.
I call at around 8am to ask about an oil change appointment for my '05 mini cooper s. Guy told me to come at 10a. Went there at 9.30a. He started working on what he could (oil filter didn't come until 10). By the time 10.10a roll ins, my car was ready.
I mentioned that my coolant level tends to get low quickly. So they looked around an identified a leak with my thermostat gasket and crank sensor. I knew about the coolant leak but didn't know about the oil one. Adam did say I didn't have to worry about the oil one any time soon but I figured might as well get it all done.
They ordered parts and worked on my car right away.
Most importantly, they were awesome enough to drive my car back to me since I can't get a ride at an early time.
So apparently they are BMW & Mini shop but they also work on other cars as well.

BMW quoted me $2100 for both front and read brake rotors and pad plus an oil service. Came online to yelp and saw A&D Autowerks as the highest rated non affiliated BMW service center. Talked to Adam - very upfront in 4 hours time got all the work done for exactly half of what BMW quoted me. Earlier the second highest rated non affiliated service center had done my brakes and they squeaked the moment i drove out from their garage. So yep I switched and very very happy with A&D. I found Adam very honest and professional. He is an athlete - I trust athletes - they push themselves to the limit to earn something. This review is not just about the money savings - it is about the no frills talk, the trust, the work, the savings of course, two young guys trying to make it in the world and amazing customer service.
Oh by the way if you wait, there are two very good restaurants just near by - Paradise (same parking lot) and Peacock by Kiely

I had an overheating problem with my 2003 BMW X5. A&D Autowerks had great reviews and I gave them a call. I took my car over at about 10 am. Dominic was very friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that they would do a diagnostic and get back to me. He was very prompt and gave me a realistic view of what was required.
The quote was very reasonable and he even picked me up and dropped me off from the garage. He finished the job by the end of the day and I have my car back again! I would definitely recommend visiting for any issues.

After searching for a place near the office to get an oil change done on my 08 M6 -- I stumbled across A&D.
The 5 star reviews are real -- no hype.
Both Adam and Dominic are legit BMW techs / mechanics. They wrapped the oil change in less than an hour, although swamped with other jobs, and charged me a very reasonable / cheap $150.00. The dealer quoted me $275 -- as the V10 requires 10 quarts of 10W60. (Rare and expensive oil.)
They also did a full inspection -- and merely suggested that I do the brakes in about 4-6 months.
I'll definitely be back! Keep up the good work A & D.

Brought here my recently-bought girlfriend's Mini, 100K miles pre-owned so it had a bunch "typical" Mini problems to get fixed (coolant and oil leaks). Their rate was around 30% lower than the Mini dealer, and delivered it on the same day, just as promised. Plus, drove my to my work and picked me up as well.

I have never felt more comfortable taking my car to be serviced! These guys are so extremely helpful and even go beyond what I would consider great service. I thought my car was having engine trouble, but really, it was user error and the oil was extremely low. They took the time to show me how much oil was needed and even filled it up with me there...and then only charged me the price of the oil I needed! If you have a Mini, I definitely recommend taking your car here!

I notice a very bad oil leak coming from my 2008 BMW 335i when I was swapping out my wheels and went on Yelp to find a good independent repair shop.
Adam with A&D had great reviews so I called, and discussed my issue on the phone with him. Adam took the time to describe the most common areas where the oil could be coming from based on my 335i and description and said he'd have a better idea after seeing the car in person and up on the rack.
I met with Adam at 8:30am and up the car went and was surprised with just how much oil leak all over the place after removing the belly pan. Since I didn't want to leave the car overnight, even after being offered a loan car...Adam helped me out by working on the car while I waited and replaced the oil housing gaskets as well as cleaning up the oil leaking residue on various components.
During my time there, I got to talk to Adam and Dominic who are very friendly and down to earth. As an added bonus, I found out they have ties to Hawaii and it's always nice to talk and reminisce about where you were born and raised.
I'll be using A&D for all my BMW service needs from now on and would highly recommend them.

After getting my BMW e46 serviced by A&D, I was compelled to write a review for the first time. Take my (and the previous 4 Yelpers who wrote a review) word -- these guys are the BEST. Quality of work, pricing and customer service.
My car started stalling at full stop the other day, and after doing a quick Yelp look up, I took a chance (due to small # of reviews) and drove straight (limping actually) to A&D.
Adam did a quick code read, gave me an estimate, and my car was done in less than an hour which I found awesome. Other shops usually require you to leave your car and give you some long *ss estimate on how long it takes to get things done.
I did, however, end up spending an extra hour in the shop....just chatting with Adam and Dominic 8) These guys know their stuff...which is not surprising because Adam used to work as a mechanic/technician from one of the BMW dealerships in South Bay.
All the previous reviews are accurate. My car was also given an 8-point check and a detailed estimate of the total cost (I have a 10-yr old car and some major work is due) which I found the most inexpensive among European car repair shops in the bay area.
Do yourselves a favor -- before taking your car anywhere next time, come by and see these guys first. You won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for a shop that won't cost you an arm and leg to get your BMW serviced, especially if it's out of warranty, then A&D Autowerks is the place. Their service is straightforward, honest, and professional. Adam use to work at Mountain View BMW, and Dom is an absolute pleasure to interact with. They are great listeners and worked with me on prioritizing next steps for maintaining. I had my 2006 E90 330i auto in for Mechatronic Sealing Sleeve changed and they did a great job. I gave them 4.5 stars, because they did mention to me that my coolant needed to be change out after I got my car back. I wish they had mention it to me as they did service for my car, so I wouldn't have to make another appointment, but at least I know they are honest guys. I will definitely be taking my services here from now on and recommend them to all my BMW friends.

I was referred to A&D by a buddy of mine and I'm so happy! I found Adam to be an honest, straight-forward professional who gave me some great, no BS advice on some repairs my BMW dealership said I needed to do.
After calling to make an appointment, I met with Adam, and went over what I thought needed to be done (oil leak, halo light, microfilter, taillight), reviewed the checklist of items my dealership gave me and finally what the car's computer was indicating. He let me know what was critical and what wasn't and quoted me about half of the price of what my dealership was going to charge me for the repairs! HALF = a $600 savings!!
I let him know what my schedule was like for the day and he busted his butt to get the repairs done and the car back to me in time.

As a very poorly maintained 325Ci that leaked 1 or 2 quarts of oil per week, I suffered from several ailments before visiting A&D.
On my first visit, I got the yummy oil stand housing, thermostat assembly, a double order of drive belts, with a PCV on the side. I was also fitted with a new valve cover to replace the existing one which had been cracked by an incompetent repair shop. Considering how bad my oil leak was, I think the guys cleaned up my engine and engine compartment real well, too!
On my second visit, I got a new alternator.
After that, I was hooked! I simply could not wait for my next component failure because I love it when Adam's big arms are cranking his wrench on my bolts! Owner said we are getting a new Radiator today! So I got the Radiator Special and a oil change with a magnetic oil plug to catch any metal fragments in the engine.
And my human is happy, too! As he can still afford to eat!
Oh! And do these guys a favor from time to time, by not always depending on them for a ride, (much less two rides! lol!). This is a independent business. A start-up of sorts. It's not a BMW dealership with layers and layers of employees to do everything from wash your car to making you a sandwich, or processing your billing and handing your keys back to you.
Consider hiring a taxi to help out the process of getting your car repaired. Thus, allowing them to devote as much of their time toward what they do best... that is, fixing your car and running the biz smoothly. But if you can't they will try to accommodate you. They are amazingly good people!
Unless their policy has changed, if you pay with 100% cash, then the discount achieved by avoiding the heinous credit card transaction is returned to you! Suh-weeeet!!! This may pay for your taxi quite handily! Most of us can afford a taxi from time to time. There may be no excuse, now. lol! :)

I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S. I Went here a few weeks ago for a transmission problem. Dominic greeted me right away and called Adam to do a diagnosis. Adam hooked up his OBD and found no faults. Then Adam did a short test drive. When he came back he told me that it could be a valve body problem in my transmission. He immediately directed me to go to a tranny shop around the area. Now here's the best part...Adam and Dominic did not charge me a dime for spending time in diagnosing my car. I try to fix stuff in my car as much as possible, but in case I have issues with my car that I can't handle, definitely I will go to this shop. Thanks adam and Dominic! God bless...mabuhay!!

Was referred to this shop when the auto shop couldn't fix the issue with my 2002 Audi S4 was at. Adam was great to deal with, they ran multiple tests on my car until they figured out the exact issue. I do have a regular mechanic I go to but needed a second opinion. With that said, WOW...Adam and Dominic.
1. My z4 was smoking only while idle.
The oil light went on and off sporadically w/full oil level.
And after, my car decided that it's going to turn itself off while at a stop light.
2. Found and called A&D thanks to my fellow yelpers and got Adam on the line answering all my questions as calm, cool and concerned as can be. Got an appointment first thing in the morning.
3. Come morning, was greeted by both guys wearing warm smiles, wrote down very basic information on a simple notepad (no dental records necessary), dropped my car off, got dropped off at work myself by Dominic. Had a great chat. Said "We'll come to you to take care of everything else before you leave work."
4. They dropped off my car, explained in detail the test they ran and what was at fault. Clear as day on the printed test report; DME Motor Electronics, GM5 module 5 and something that came out of an inspection; a deteriorating valve cover gasket.
They gave me a quote and told me what can wait to get done so I can still afford to feed myself. Said if and when I wanted to get it done, they've already ordered the parts and they'll just wait for me to call the shots.
Sum: 5+ stars for ridiculously, awesome service, minus a star bc even my arm couldn't cover labor.

Screw going to BMW to get your car repaired/checked out.... when you can go to A&D Autowerks for the same, qualtiy service, if not, better, AND at a lower cost!!!
I have gone to A&D Autowerks to get my car fixed a few times now, and each time has been great! And what really brings me back here is because of the customer service. When I needed to get something done right away, Adam (co-owner of AT SCP), was always there to rescue my car, He has been very responsive to my car needs and knows exactly what to do to, making my sick 2001 BMW sedan feel brand new all over again.

Took my BMW for oil & filter change and for flushing out the coolant and brake fluids. The reviews at Yelp are true. They were pleasant to work with. They even detected a micro filter that needed to be changed and let me know. Overall good pricing when compared to dealership and good service... My car runs healthier now.
Cool thing I must mentioned is that they offered to drop me at my work place. Though I ended up not using that option, it was a very nice gesture, I thought I'd mention here.

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper and I had my camshaft sensor replaced today. I stopped by for a quick minute in the morning to get a quote and hearing a decent price I decided to keep my afternoon appointment. I thought I had to have my car overnight and pick it up the next day but Adam got everything done under an hour! I've been to the mini dealership and other 3rd party auto shops but nothing really compares to this place! Not just for the affordable quotes but the quality of service. Adam is such an awesome and humble person! They will definitely take care of you! They truly separate themselves and shine above other auto shops because you DONT feel the pressure of having to fix everything to get money out of you and quoting you way more than you should pay, I felt very comfortable and they gained my trust quickly. he did tell me some other issues on my car that I am definitely planning to come back to get it fixed. I can see why these guys get great reviews - honest, thorough and straight shooters.
Brake sensor on my BMW X5 was going off and it'd been awhile since the last change, so figured I was due. I didn't have a mechanic since wed moved so I called them up and they were able to see me same day. Adam did a quick check on the pads, let me know they did not need to be changed and ran diagnostics to see the source of the error...nothing found so no additional work to be done. Realizing that brake changes rank only second to oil changes when it comes to "upsell", pressure and opportunity to sell unnecessary work, it was refreshing to find someone who knew how to diagnose and more importantly took the time to walk me through the results.
I'd also mentioned my washer fluid had an issue with leaking out (common BMW issue, from what I've read). He quickly checked it out, found it was leaky pumps and offered to replace at the cost of the parts if I'd bring it by the next day.
Our X5 just found it's new mechanic!

Issue:
My 2009 Hyundai started up this morning and the check light engine was on. I panicked because I commute over 100 miles a day. I called the Hyundai dealership where I purchased the car and talked to one of the service advisers and couldn't get an appointment that day and I absolutely needed to take care of the issue asap because I need my car. I called around and was ready and willing to pay the ridiculous prices I was being quoted because I was in a panic and needed this issue fixed urgently.
Solution:
After calling few shops and reading reviews, I found A&D Autowerks, they gave me a much lower quote with same day repair. I waited couple hours for the parts to arrive for them to fix my ignition issue. Adam and Dom were very nice and professional. They had answers to all my concerning questions and were very knowledgeable. They charged me much less than other shops quoted me. Not only that, but they had it all fixed amazingly quickly. I am so grateful how they handled it, I finally decided to write my 1rst YELP REVIEW because they truly deserve it. I went here after reading through reviews. It's a small shop, but these guys know what they're doing. I took in my '93 Camry and had them do simple stuff like oil change and tire rotation, but they also helped me to fix my trunk, which was broken and replaced my rear brake lights, since they were out. They didn't gouge me on price. I felt like I was talking to buddies. Both Domonic and Adam were very friendly and easy to work with.

I'm relatively new to the Bay Area having just moved here from Southern California a few months ago. I was a loyal customer to a certain BMW/MINI repair shop when I was living down in SoCal so when washer fluid started leaking out of my MINI I thought that I could just wait until I visited again in a few weeks and have them take a look at it. Well, that washer fluid indicator light started getting on my nerves so I knew that I had no choice but to get it fixed as it did seem pretty silly to cock my steering wheel at a certain angle when I parked so that the light would not be in my field of vision when I started up my car.
A quick Yelp search led me to A&D Autowerks here in Santa Clara and Adam was able to figure out the problem in a few minutes so I was no longer at risk of developing a seizure disorder from that darn blinking light. Oh and I could clean my windshield again. Thank you so much Adam! I will definitely be back for further routine maintenance on my car now that I know there's a local shop that I can trust to work on my MINI.

Absolutely my favorite mechanics of all time. Adam and Dominic are nice, polite, patient, and try to get you the best deal on everything and don't sell you on services you don't need. They fixed an issue on my 02 Jetta 1.8T that 3 other mechanics were not able to figure out. My car does a hard shift when it's in lower gears and they showed me how to reset the adaptive module, which took care of the problem for the most part. They also get me tires etc at cost. Really great guys who took the time to explain everything and even brought me to work and picked me up again. Easy to talk to and true experts at what they do. If you look up "going the extra mile" in the dictionary, there will be a picture of them!!!

I always specifically asked for Adam to service my 335i when he was with BMW of Mountain View. He's very knowledgeable and always professional. So when he told me he opened up his own shop, I was very happy since my warranty and free service through BMW has expired.
Adam recently replaced my brake pads and performed the Inspection 2 Service. He did an amazing job and was definitely priced lower than taking it to BMW. The shop is very clean and organized.
A&D Autowerks will be the only place I take my 335i to be repaired or serviced.

These guys are awesome! Just really laid back and generous guys.. I came by a while back just to have my mini cooper looked at because my service sign was on. I called and made an appointment, and they even called me back when an earlier time slot was available. Very considerate and super responsive! They took their time inspecting the car and letting me know what things should be done, gave a thorough explanation for everything and didn't try to sell me anything. They told me that I had months before needing to service anything so they turned off my service sign and was all done! I took up their time, didn't charge a dime. Really honest, cool guys.

From reading all the prior positive reviews on this merchant, I figured I would give them a try and I'm glad I did. I had a minor leak in my Mini Cooper S that drenched the bottom of the oil pan but couldn't figure out where the leak came from. I did some research and mentioned to Adam that it could be the crank sensor seal as a common area. He agreed and quoted me the cost to replace if that's the case. The entire undercarriage of my car is now clean and with no noticeable leak since. I highly recommend these guys!

The engine oil light indicator came on on my 2007 BMW X5 right after the extended service & warranty on my car expired. I turned to Yelp to find a reliable car workshop to handle this.
After much research, I called up A&D Autowerks and spoke with Adam. Given that this was the first time an independent repair shop is working on my car, I asked a lot questions. Adam was very patient and answered all my question readily.
On the day of the oil change, everything went smoothly and it was done in an hour. Adam also noted that my brake is due for changing soon.
While waiting for my car, I chatted with Dominic, who told me that Adam was the master mechanic at BMW Mountain View dealership for 10 year before leaving to set up A&D Autowerks 17 months ago.
I got a quotation for my brake and will be bringing my car back to A&D Autowerks when it's time for my brake change.

I was pretty unsure bringing my BMW X5 to any shop. I usually have warranty on all my cars but I guess this was my first to have an expired warranty. Just my luck my warranty was up a month ago and I just dropped it off at BMW before my warranty was up. BMW could not fix my light bulb after leaving it there for 4 days and I was out of time because I was leaving to London and told BMW I was going to pick up my car even thought they could not fix the light bulb.
I asked some friends some recommendation and everyone mentioned other places, although A and D autowerks was recommended by two people. One was a BMW mechanic and the other was a friend that owned an X5 also. I figure if they can trust Dominic and Adam then I can trust them. When I called for information they where very helpful and willing to help. They mentioned they can drop off and pick up customers to go to work and that was a plus for me. These two partners are very genuine in how they do business. When they called to let me know the outcome of the situation they went over the cost over the phone in detail and mentioned some things that can be replaced also but isn't needed yet. I mentioned other things about the car and they helped me with parts I needed and also checked out my rear light bulb that BMW could not fix. The best thing was they didn't charge me to look at the light bulb. It was just loose.
Anyways, these guys did an amazing job and I have no complaints over the work. They focus on the customers which is real important to me and I don't mind supporting small business that do quality work. They are real affordable and pricing is fair.

I feel SO lucky to have found A&D Autowerks in the nick of time!
My 2000 BMW was on the verge of overheating for a second time, and the coolant leak was getting so bad that it was leaking straight out, I knew I needed to have it repaired.
I discovered A&D Autowerks via Yelp, and from the second I called, Dominic was very helpful. He assured me I could leave my car after hours and followed up with me right away the following morning. He and Adam were able to repair my car in one day and for a fraction of the cost I was anticipating, had I gone to the dealer or a different repair shop. They kept in contact through the whole process and even provided me a ride from work so I could pick up my car on my lunch break!!
I couldn't have asked for better service when I needed it the most. Dominic and Adam really took care of me, and I can tell that's their standard of service with all their customers!

Amazing service!! Everything went so smoothly and it does not feel like going to a mechanic! I have a mini cooper S from 2007 and yesterday the check engine light went on. I found this shop on yelp and so I took my car to A&D Autowerks.Dominic dropped me at work and a bit later he called me and told me that I needed a thermostat. And when I came back to pick up my car the same day, they showed me the defective piece and explained to me what went wrong. They are very professional and they seem to know about European cars. I would definitely go back here!

Brought my 2009 Mini Cooper here because Mini said I needed to replace the thermostat housing as it was leaking coolant. A&D took care of it quickly for much less money than mini wanted. If you are a Cooper owner definitely take your car here for any out of warranty work. These guys are the professionals.

Seeing a leak is no fun, particularly if you're a new grad who's just starting to make some money after a two-year hiatus. However, Adam and Dominic made the process of getting my precious Mini Cooper repaired less painful. They are super friendly, down to earth, and very helpful. Not only were they able to drop me off and pick me up from work, but they were great in outlining what service I needed to get done now, and what could wait - very important for someone with a limited budget! The shop is new, and I'm told their website will be up soon, but I hope you give them a shot if you're a BMW or MINI owner. Reasonable prices and excellent customer service - what more can you ask for?

Dominic and Adam....you guys rock!
After a month of owning a M3, the alternator decided to take a dump on me. I was getting ready to head out to lunch and found the battery warning light come on when I started the car. Since I didn't know much about BMWs, I quickly did a search on the forums to see what this warning light was about. Ran a few quick test on the battery itself and i pretty much determined it was an alternator problem. Looked on Yelp to see if there was any reputable shop that can repair beemers and found A&D Autowerks. Good thing they were like 5 mins away from me, so I call them to ask if they can replace it for me. Dominic said he could do his best on getting it done the same day, but I had a feeling the quickest turn around time was the following day due to getting the part in. I brought in the car to them anyway and did a chat with them on how much the part and replacement will be. I got a quote which was far below what the dealer would of charged. Super awesome cuz I know how much it would of been!
Since I didn't have a car to get back to work, they offered to give me a ride back. This is VIP service considering they were the only two guys operating the shop.
An hour later, Dominic called me to confirm the alternator was at fault so it wasn't charging the battery, but they couldn't get my car back til the next day, which was A-ok for me. After getting my car back the next day, i was even more impressed because what I paid was actually lower than the quote they gave me. Couldn't be anymore happier that day with a working car and a not so damaged wallet.
If anyone needs work to be done on their beemer or euro, I would highly recommend A&D Autowerks. Thanks Dom and Adam!!!

I recently moved back to the bay area and I was in search of an honest BMW service facility. I had a broken window track on my make and model of BMW. The problem is quite common for my model so I knew what it should cost for parts and labor.
My former mechanic was honest and affordable. Quite frankly, I didn't think I would ever find anyone like him anywhere until I called A and D Autowerks and talked to Dominic. I found him to be honest and knowledgeable and he was able to" squeeze me in" that day for service.
Adam worked on my car. He is meticulous and takes pride in his work as I discovered talking to him. After he was done, he pointed out some issues that needed to be addresses with my car as a courtesy to me.
The price for my window repair was well within reason!
I was so impressed with both Adam and Dominic that I will be going back again.

1. Don't know the owners before getting to the shop. I basically relied on the reviews, and the positive reviews were accurate. They know their craft and are friendly.
2. I brought the car (BMW 325i 2006, 117K) in for service. I bought the 100K service package for BMW, so outside of replacing the tires, this was my first experience with a third party provider. It turned out that the car only needed front brake service. I was going on a business trip on Tuesday, so I dropped off the car in the parking lot (lots of cars, so I felt better about leaving it) the night before. I requested the work to be done by the end of day on Thursday, but they were able to pull in to 3PM since I was able to get an earlier flight (called about 11AM).
3. I didn't meet them until I picked up the car in the afternoon. They showed me the pads they replaced and was efficient in the check out.
4. Yes, my biggest compliment I can give is that I would bring back my car for BMW service and repairs.

I took my Volvo X90 to be repaired by Dom this morning and was more than pleased. He quickly assessed the problem. Quickly replaced the faulty hose, and got me out of there in time for lunch. Thanks to all the previous reviewers, I drove my BMW 328i here and it was one of the best decisions I made. Dominic was very cordial and wrote up the 2 issues I had and even dropped me off @ work.
Later, Adam called me & explained that one of the problems (rattling noise) was very negligible and I'm better off not fixing it, unless I wanted to spend a whole lot fixing a non-issue. The best part was he didn't charge me for this. The showroom was going to rip me off just for checking it out
The other issue was a real problem and the charge was very reasonable. i'm a very happy camper now that I've found this shop and also recommending all my friends (people even with non-German cars) here. It's so hard to find guys who are honest and good @ what they do.

Both guys are friendly and professional and know their stuff. On top of giving me a great deal on my brake fluid flush, Adam fixed another minor issue that I'd pointed out free of charge. A&D Autowerks is the only place I'll go for repairs. Adam is a great mechanic and very fair. My '03 Honda Pilot had severe engine damage and Adam was very thorough before deciding what repairs were needed. The experience there was top notch, the quality of work was superb and the cost was beyond fair. A&D may specialize in BMW's, but they can fix any make of cars. It's not easy pairing the words honest and mechanic, but with A&D Autowerks, you can!

I live in LA but go to college up here and I have a BMW that hadn't gotten serviced in over 30,000 miles (horrible, I know, but it still worked perfectly). Anyway so I did a little research because I don't trust just anyone with my car and I came across A & D Autowerks. Read the reviews and when I called in Dominic was very nice and scheduled me for the next day. I came in and they got a lot of the work done the first day and when I came in the next day to have it finished they worked overtime just so I could have my car back the following day and I could drive to my dad's house to celebrate my birthday. Dominic and Marcus were very straightforward and honest throughout it all and gave me the best deal possible. My car now runs even better thanks to them (and I hope it doesn't hate me as much now). I would highly recommend going there for any car related issues because not only is their work superb, but they know of other reliable mechanics who can fix something if they can't.

It all started with my BMW Z4 getting to the end of its warranty. I went to the dealer and asked to do a full inspection and sure enough they found things to fix under warranty but also wear and tear services that are not covered under warranty. $1,000 to replace the front breaks, $200 each to flush the brake and coolant fluids and $160 to secure a rattling fog light. This is when I hesitantly called A&D Autowerks and asked for a quote. The quote was less than 50% of the dealer and it was clear that A&D Autowerks are very knowledgeable. I let them do the work and the outcome was more than professional service. They proved to be honest which I think is rare in this business. Dominic explained to me that there is no need to flush the coolant fluid (my water pump was replaced not long ago and thus the fluid was replaced), They secured the fog light for free and end up finding another problem for the dealer to fix before the warranty expires. I am extremely happy with the quality and service, and plan to service my car with them going forward.

i made a visit here because i saw the 5 stars on yelp. boy was that the BEST decision i ever made for my 2002 jetta. my check engine light came on that morning and that afternoon i met dominic at a & d. dominic was not only nice he was also sincere of what he could offer to repair my car. he diagnosed my car and found out my coil was causing my engine issue. we agreed to have the coil replaced as well as fixing my axles which were cracked (problem diagnosed at an oil change at a different establishment). before my repairs were to take place we have a phone conversation where dominic recommended not to follow this other establishment's advice to replace my axles. he said replacing the axles was an unnecessary and expensive repair. he said all i would need to do is replace my cv boots, this saving me almost $800. thanks dominic and a & d autowerks for getting this girl's jetta good as new and saving me some cash. my repairs were done in a timely manner. i highly recommend this place to anyone with a car problem and in need of a fix. you truly get a honest answers and a superior service that is unmatched by any body shop by far. i rarely write reviews unless i am completely impressed (or disappointed) by my entire experience. a & d autowerks everyone needs to know, you all rock!!

Got my Del Sol engine serviced here and I was impressed by how thorough they were in explaining what was needed and what we could hold off on. They took the time to find the best deals on the parts I needed and what really sets them apart is their customer service -- I've been to other autoshops and they usually try to upsell you on unneccessary repairs, but I really appreciated the straight talk Adam and Dominic expressed when servicing my car. These guys changed the water pump and thermostat on my 2008 BMW 535i. They didn't correctly torque the bolts on my electronic sway bar bracket therefore the bolts loosened and broke my sub frame. They didn't take any responsibility due to the fact that they think it would've happened immediately although it will happen regardless of mileage if not torqued down correctly. I've heard stories via the mechanics mouth himself messing peoples cars up and not taking responsibility. One story was he was not sure if he torqued a bolt down correctly inside the engine and was too lazy to take everything apart and check so he just started the engine and luckily it was fine. Should've listened to the stories because now I'm out thousands of dollars due to their inexperienced child mechanics. One of the owners of this shop used to work at Kragen Auto Parts. I think he should've stayed there.
