I would give Mike and his team more than 5 stars if possible! I cannot remember experiencing a higher level of customer service. It was especially valuable to me that they were so knowledgeable, patient and clearly such experts- I don't know anything about cars, but I trusted 100% that I was in good hands!! All the work they performed far exceeded my expectations and the total cost was MUCH less than I anticipated!! If you go anywhere else, you are crazy, this is the place for all your servicing needs!! I was down to NO brakes in my car and the dealer wasn't willing to see me for a whole week- regardless of how unsafe that was. Mike told me to bring the car in ASAP and I was all fixed-up and ready to go within a few hours! I will be a loyal customer forever and will be recommending Mike's Foreign Sports to everyone I know!

I was looking for a place to repair my BMW other than the dealer. I had a repair that was quoted as pretty expensive at the dealer. So I checked around, asked around and read reviews. I called Mikes and Greg answered and I explained my problem. Greg was super friendly and helpful and I felt comfortable making an appointment to bring my car in. I was greeted by Greg on arrival and he immediately drive my car in and they went to work on it. Realizing it was going to be a longer repair than we hoped, Greg offered to have someone give me a ride. He called after a couple hours and let me know it was fixed and at 1/2 the price quoted by the dealer! Greg also addressed my cars immediate upcoming service and needs. I am extremely happy with the service and quality of work I received at Mikes. I definitely recommend it to anyone needing German car repair. I will certainly use them for my upcoming needs.

We have been going to Mike's since 1990s when we started buying German cars. We have never been let down and the place is very trustworthy. We never take our cars to any dealerships but only to Mike's because the place knows what it is doing.. Good job Mike and Greg!

I came here for a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) on a BMW 3-Series car. They scanned the car's computer (DME) and found fault code, "185 Function, exhaust VANOS". I was immediately concerned because I knew that the VANOS was a costly component but the mechanic reassured me that it wasn't a problem because it was a "one-time occurrence". He claimed that the S54 engine was very sensitive and having such a "one-time occurrence" was perfectly normal. I figured he was the expert and I took his word for it. I assumed that this fault code was triggered a long time ago and was no longer an issue. Being excited about buying a car after months of searching, I blindly trusted his opinion and ultimately purchased the car.
As you might have guessed, the mechanic's "one-time" fault code assertion was wrong. After about 500 miles of ownership, the SES light appeared with the same VANOS fault code. After about 2 months of troubleshooting, I discovered that the car had a faulty VANOS actuator.
I learned from my current mechanic that there is a specific VANOS test that could have been run to discover the true nature of the original fault code. This test is simple to run and only takes about 5 mins. to complete. It is still a mystery to me why the mechanic at Mike's Foreign didn't run this test after he found the original VANOS fault code. Had he run the test, it probably would have saved me thousands of dollars! Just as a good doctor will order a full battery of tests if there is suspicion of a disease, a good mechanic will run all available tests when there is an indication of a problem. The fact that this shop did not take the next step is a clear red flag. Needless to say, they have lost my trust and my future business.

The guys at Mike's Foreign Sports, in particular Greg and Fernando, far exceeded my expectations. My situation is unique; as a professional Real Estate Appraiser, comparison analysis is what I've made a living at. Here i decided to take my car to 4+ shops for a run down as to this mysterious issue that was causing my car to stall. The guys that properly analyzed and solved the issues were Greg and Fernando
The first thing that increased my confidence level, was the trust that they were going to fix what was needed, NOTHING MORE, with the communication of future items that could be fixed given i want to be proactive. This is exactly the type of analysis that is missing with many repair shops. You really cant be sure they have diagnosed the right issues, and if they do you then have a second dilemma of not knowing if they are going to communicate things that you don't need now, but might in the near future. Mike's Foreign Sports does both facets AND at a reasonable price.
Highly recommended; 5 stars on communication, pricing and service!

Absolutely terrific shop!
Had Mike's remove and replace engine and transaxle in my VW Vanagon Westfalia. Job included new radiator, hoses, belts, cv joints and axle rebuild, plus installing custom gauges, converting exterior lights to LED and lots more. Major job.
Mike and Greg were outstanding to work with. Price was fair and Mike's work was well beyond just first class. They stayed in touch throughout the job, offered great advice when a decision was to be made ...and went way beyond the call in tracking down hard to find parts.
Fantastic experience, would recommend this shop without questions.

They are honest, competitive and you never have to worry that you need to bring the car back because something was not fixed correctly the first time. They get it right! I was traveling through the area about a month ago and my Jetta TDI wouldnt start. i called around and no place could take me for a week except these guys. As you can imagine, I was as nervous as if I walked into an empty restaurant at 7 pm. My fears were unjustified. These guys took good care of my car, consulting with me at every step to make sure we were both on the same page, and pushed themselves hard to get my car ready for me by closing time Friday. My car felt great on the way home (after a fairly major repair) and I was surprised and delighted to receive a phone call on Monday morning making sure I made it home safe. These guys didn't give me the "women can't talk car" attitude (more common than you think!) and they never made me feel rushed, even thought they clearly sacrificed their schedule for me. I find myself wishing they weren't 700 miles away as I look at my future repairs to 2 aging but beloved TDIs. Thanks guys!

I have a 2008, 535 with 75k miles. I had the car serviced at the local dealer while it was under warranty, but that is now over. I had a 'check engine' light on and brought it to the dealer. They thought they diagnosed it and changed a part, but that did not work so they put my old part back in (but did not charge me for this, other than the diagnosis fee). They said the repair needed now is a carbon cleaning ($800) and replace the fuel injector. They also said they cannot replace one injector, but instead have to replace all of them even if only one is causing a problem, and this was going to be $2200. Instead, I brought the car to Hal, at Bavarian Performance, and he did their carbon cleaning for half the dealer price. Hal also was skeptical of the need for injectors so certainly suggested not replacing those. Result? The car is running sweet again! My car will be going back to Hal, when something is needed.

Hal is awesome!!! I had him survey a BMW for me before purchasing and he was extremely thorough. He takes his time with the vehicle, truly understands every aspect of it, and impressed the owners of the vehicle with his knowledge as well. We all benefited from his knowledge and this experience. Hal took the time to describe the maintenance issues and needs in detail and was more than fair on price. I would highly recommend him for all of your vehicle needs. Keep up the great work Hal!

I had a self-induced problem with the electronics of my new 2012 BMW 535 M-Sport. I went to Bavarian Performance Specialists and met Hal, the owner, and explained what had happened. I had several fault codes that need to be cleared and a module that needed to be reprogramed. Hal took his time and explained what he was going to do in an attempt to fix what I had messed up. While I waited for Hal to complete his work I had an opportunity to watch his interaction with his customers and his employees. I found him to not only to be extremely knowledgeable, but also very professional. He knows BMWs and knows how to treat people, whether they are customers or employees. In the end he fixed my car without issue and in short order. I will be back. Finding an honest, knowledgeable and professional mechanic is not an easy task. I highly recommend this shop to anyone with a BMW that is looking for an independent shop.

...but in the end, I ended up doing my own work. Hal, the owner, has been working on BMWs for decades and comes with lots of experience and the technicians are great, courteous, and also knowledgable. The shop is very professional and has great ethics and get your car back on time as promised, but the billing rates are pretty high - almost dealership price. The price steered me away, but it's a good shop.

Took my car here as they were supposedly "experts". Was charged more than the dealer for diagnostics and then spent months (yes months) of bringing the car in and out of the shop with no results. Problems were never fixed. Poor communication. I finally didn't go back, found a real expert from a BMW forum and they (the new shop) had my car fixed in 1 visit.
