the car shifts very smooth and feels like a new car. They have being servicing my transmission for years on all of my vehicles and have always done a great job and now they do other repairs.

My Acura was due for a transmission fluid change and I was referred to Metro. Walked in on Wednesday afternoon and requested a quote and made an appointment for the following week. (That's how booked they were) Eric in the office was very helpful and knew exactly what I needed. I arrived Tuesday at 7 am for my appointment and took my car in right away. Probably the quickest service I've ever received. He said it would take about an hour...I was out in 40 minutes! I would definitely recommend anyone to Metro for their excellent service!

I bought my daughter an old Jeep Grand Cherokee and the transmission went out. It needed a ton of work. Metro did an awesome job, they were prompt, upfront and executed really well. For me, the bottom line is I didn't feel like I was being taken...they are friendly and Eric (I believe it was Eric) did a great job of communicating with me. I brought my Jetta to get serviced at another shop down the street and after hours of waiting they told me that only the dealer would have the correct tools to perform the service. I called around and a few more shops told me the same thing. After a day wasted, I scheduled an appt with Metro. I dropped the car off, told them my story and Eric assured me they would be able to do the service with no problems. I left the shop a little skeptical. After about 2 hours, I received a call from Metro that my car was ready for pickup. Yep, it was that painless! On top of all this, I saved over half of what the dealer was going to charge! Metro has earned all of my future business. Keep up the good work guys!

I youst to work at a place down the street from here and they started taking there work and here and from having my old work van serviced here I learned this people here are very honest , fair, and trustworthy !!!
All FAMILY owned and they treat the workers like family as well . Since having my old work van services here and learning how great they are I ONLY !!!! Recommend them to ALL my friends and family and yes I even take ALL my personal vehicles here for service and I live in Ramona it's a 45 min to a hour drive one way . That's how much I trust Metro Transmission .

Had the tranny on my diesel Jetta rebuilt here back in April or May of 2013. Naturally there was a delay in getting the parts in. After it was completed, we had to take it back 3 damn times! The first was because the gaskets were leaking. If I hadn't had the oil changed after I got the car back we never would've discovered the leak and things could've ended up worse.
The second was due to something that was out of place and making a vibrating noise. It took them literally all of 5 minutes to adjust it. Yet the head service writer bitched at me for just showing up and not calling ahead to make an appointment first.
The third was for the 12,000 mile service on the trans. We thought it would be covered by the warranty. It wasn't. It still cost $140 to have the fluid changed.
Before that, something got caught on the power steering rack and tore the rubber boot. It hemorrhaged fluid. I had that replaced there too. I had a warranty on that part through O'Reilly's, which is nearby. Normally they don't install customer supplied parts, but they made an exception. However, they still screwed it up. The threads on the bolts were stripped when they put them in and the hoses were crossed. It lasted 5-6 months before it started leaking, again! Then I had to have it replaced, again! That time I went some place else that charged $100 less than Metro and actually did it right.

Professional and considerate of the cost. Also had a great coupon/certificate on Yelp which saved me some money on the labor. Coupon was easy to use too, but does require purchase for savings. Utilized their drop box so that I could leave car in the parking lot and drop the keys with envelop in a secure lock box. It's not cheap but the quality and service is there.

My experience with this shop and its staff started about a 1 1/2 years ago. My neighbor recommended them for a transmission job in a van I am restoring with a lot of miles on it. The transmission needed to be replaced along with the rear end rebuild. They did an excellent job and it came with a good warranty. They even said if I wanted to do the engine at the same time since I was spending so much they would give it to me at cost which is a more than fair deal but I couldn't afford it at the time. Fast forward to three weeks ago, they put a factory crate new motor they found for me in my van, oversaw the complete rebuilt of the suspension and took care of a/c problem took the dash out and many other small issues including gauge cluster refresh.
What I like most is the friendly and knowledgeable staff, fair deal and the attention to detail, I am still noticing things that they painted or cleaned. They also took out a bunch of old wire repairs and soldered new wires in because it was the right way to do it and they couldn't stand to see it like it was, very clean job. Eric kept me informed all along the way and Luis did fantastic job on the motor. It's really nice to find an honest shop that treats you fair. I've spent a lot of money at this place and they have earned my business I never go to another shop. Great job!

Great shop and very honest. My mom used to visit here religiously when she was alive. They took care of her Nissan Sentra and kept it running smooth way past 150 miles when we sold the car. I sent my daughter there for a repair we thought would be in the thousands, however it was a quick easy transmission fix for about $300. The nice thing, is that when you get your estimate you will know it is only for what is really need and no one will try and sell you a transmission you don't need. We recently received an estimate to replace our Ford transmission that was fair and inline with what other shops were charging. We didn't do the repair because the age and milage of the truck surpassed putting further investment in it. For our transmission work, I wouldn't use anyone else in San Diego County.

In December I had high-pressure oil pump problems. I went into Metro transmission where I met Eric. It was not long before I found out what the problem was and I picked it up in a reasonable time.
Few months later I have another problem with my truck different from before and I was in a hurry to leave town Eric handle it and I made it to my destination, and back.
Three days ago I discovered something else not related to previous problems. Within a couple hours I was on my Way to work.
A friend recommended Metro Transmission Inc and I'm very happy that he did.

I came in with an issue with my brakes. I had no idea what this sound was. Eric was the associate who assisted me with my problem. Instead of jumping blindly into the issue, he offered to inspect my vehicle free of charge. After the inspection they stated that the noise was nothing to worry about and educated me on the issue. They put back together my car checked my air free of charge and let me go about my day. Very friendly people and great customer service. And I now feel extremely comfortable with my car.

I started with Metro by taking my 1951 Chevy Business Coupe, if they can get this classic to work the way I want it, then they have my business. I now have taken all my 4 vehicles to them for service. If for some reason the job they dod goes wrong, they will fix it, period. Richard the owner is personable and has a ton of transmission knowledge. Eric, Brenda and Michelle know their business and are always very pleasant to deal with. Went in to get a transmission fluid and filter service. I mention the problem my car had the staff was very nice and straight to the point with information. As a female going alone they did not try to sell me more for what I went in for or you can put it they did not try to rip me off. The price is fairly good but they have a Yelp check-in discount which made it a Great price for the service. All they said was to get a routine service and with that staff was not pushy. I will definitely go back and recommend to go there that is why I gave them a five star!

I give no stars for this place. Erick called me a liar and hung up on me. Very rude. I leave my car over night so they can check it the next morning, and when I go to drive it I can't even go past 20 mph anymore, even though the day before I was driving 60 on the freeway. Some how it magically got ruined overnight and I'm a liar for saying that it wasn't running that slow. Go there only if you want to spend $3,000 dollars for one service.

Heard about this place from our neighbor and it was a perfect experience. Found a coolant leak while getting an oil change and they fit me in to their packed schedule and found the problem and got it fixed faster than expected. They literally fixed the thing in one hour and it was just a minor part. I was so happy. They have a great staff and always friendly. I went into this shop thinking that I needed another rebuild on my automatic transmission (quoted $2600 to $2800 at another shop). My 2002 Ford Explorer transmision was rebuilt by the Ford dealer in 2009 and was slipping from 2nd to 3rd gear for the past 4 years. He recently started having trouble shifting in reverse. Eric did some testing and diagnosed that it was just the solenoid (about $800) that needed replacing and said he could do it that day. He also found a minor oil leak and fixed that too. Tested car for a few days and it's running like new! Very pleased with the service. Would recommend.

AMAAAAAZZZZING!!! Not only have I used Metro once but I came back again because the service was literally AMAZING! I would like to first point out that, I usually have a difficult time with my wife's vehicle. Even the dealership has issues with part ordering and certain services, but METRO's professional mechanic's are so well educated on vehicles of all sorts that they too know how to deal with different makes and models. Erick who literally walked my wife and I through our first issue, treated us as if we were royalty. All to find out it took all of twenty minutes and cost them nearly nothing and a little time, which in fact, they literally charged us nothing, talk about being more than fair. It was like winning the lottery!!!
Metro did give us a couple of suggestions and pricing of what items that needed to be addressed as the vehicle did have some miles on it. Which leads me to now, three months later, so I scheduled an appointment last week, and I brought our car in for the suggested service as it was in deed definitely time for it. I'm telling you, it was like they rolled out the red carpet for me. Erick was literally addressing the parts needed for my vehicles make and model, Brenda was processing any and all paper work and within 3 minutes of walking through the door and checking the car in I was done, until the vehicle was ready. A short time later I received a phone call stating my vehicle was ready. My wife and I went to pick up her car, upon picking it up, not only was it truly ready for pick up but was priced very reasonably, especially considering what all the other establishments were charging. Our car is now running PUUURRRRRRfect, and we could not be more pleased by METRO, Erick, Brenda and all of the professional staff. I simply can't thank them enough for the feeling, and service they left us with, makes us smile ear to ear!
We have three cars and they have only seen one so far, but I can tell you from my experience that they will always be our go to mechanic as they truly have their customers best interest and are willing to go the extra mile. I was recommended by our friends to Metro who also use them, and now I am recommending them to my fellow friends, family and YELPERS!!!

Now that I found Metro, I will never go anywhere else!!!!
Eric was very helpful in explaining what the problem was with my car and what my options were with getting it fixed. I liked that he didn't try to "up sell" me on services that I did not need. He actually used the words, "you don't need to do that yet." You don't find honesty like that at other shops. Anywhere!
Fixing my car happened same day. (Not sure if that was luck, but it sure was convenient.)
Brenda gave me my total and asked if I have AAA, which I do, so I saved money there too! Yeah!
I highly recommend bringing your car here. Honest, and they get the job done right. 5 stars!

BEWARE My first experance with this company was good so I thought. I belived they did a good job on my service. The second time I came in for service for a different vehice Eric told me that it needed over $700 in parts plus labor. The part I was quoted for DID NOT EVEN EXIST NOR EVER HAS ON MY VEHICLE. I guess he forgets about smart phones. When I told him this he said there was a mix up in the computer, how can wiggling a mouse instantly fix the computer. I left. Later on I took the first car I brought to Metro to the dealer because it was leaking oil. The transmission fill plug had been stripped out in the transmissn case, costing over $1000 to repair. Avoid this place. They don't stand behind they're work, and cannot be trusted. I would give you no stars but I can't.

I am picky about who I take my cars to. There are too many dishonest shops out there and I have run into a couple, mostly whenever I try to save a couple pennies. I have been going to Metro since I could drive and they have always treated me right. They are not always the cheapest, but that is the point. I have used them for everything from a major transmission rebuild on a performance mustang to daily drivers. They know their stuff and will tell you front if they think somthing will be more than a normal cost and why that is.

I took my Ford focus to the Ford dealership when the transmission was failing. All I got was a call that said that I needed a new transmission which was basically going to cost the same amount as the cost of the car! I called Eric at Metro Transmissions and he ran down what it could be and what they'd look for. I decided to take my car to them -- which when I told Ford I was taking the car back they recanted and said maybe I won't need a whole new transmission and they may be able to fix it for less, but by then I didn't trust them. Once I had my car at Metro, they quickly diagnosed the problem and I'd be happy to take my car to them in the future.

I found this place in 2011 because of the reviews. I spoke to Eric. I was convinced of his ethics. They did work for us and we were pleased. We've been back several times since then. However, our latest visit on Feb. 14 has caused me to doubt everything from the past. On 10/1/12 my wife took it in for one thing, and were told we needed a water pump, serpintine belt, thermostat, thermostat o-ring, upper hose, lower hose, coolant and hose clamp. Trusting them, we had the work done. When my wife went back in on 2/14/13 for a transmission fluid change she was told that, guess what, she needed the hoses, thermostat, etc. HUH? She called me and asked what we had done last time. I looked at the invoice. So she told Eric that we just had that done. He acted confused and looked in the computer and found "there was a filing mistake and it was under a different vehicle." DOUBLE HUH?
What in the world does that have to do with anything. It does not matter what computer records may show, it either needs new hoses or it does not. And how does it go from needing new hoses to not needing them after looking at the computer?
Fortunately, since we suffered no damages there is nothing to "sue" them for but I sure wish I could sue for general principles. This is despicable! I guess when you are a woman with an accent all bets are off. We will never, ever, EVER return. We used to recommend them. NOT ANY MORE!
It's a damn shame that this sort of stuff happens. No wonder customers go to mechanics with the same apprehension as they do lawyers. I wish I could give zero stars. Beware.

I took my camaro into metro from my mechanics referral.. From the service to the customer service the staff were superb i will always refer my friends and family to them they were really understanding and they explained everything to me with great detail!!! The clutch needed to be repaired and they did a awesome job and also took the time to diagnose some other issues completely unrelated .. like my water pump that pep boys did two months earlier and said it was leaking low and behold pep boys covered the part and not there bad labor... Metro is my new place to take both my camaro and my silverado they were honest and helpful and patient with someone who is completely clueless to the automotive field! Finally!! "My faith restored in mankind and mechanic-kind as well"...........Let me start this with a little advise to you Audi owners. Stay AWAY FROM CARLSBAD AUDI for service. Wait, let me start this with my credentials one way or another I've been turning wrench all my life starting with (unfortunately) my mothers appliances moved on to bigger things motorcycles, cars and then into the military where I had become a power-plants mechanic working on Navy Jets aboard the USS Constellation. I was also an auto mechanic at my Dads shop, once I was off active duty. I was also a service writer for Surfside Nissan in Oceanside and Pacific Beach Nissan under Ron Houston and then a store manager for Big O Tires in Oceanside. I have said all that to show you the reader .....I know my way around a car or two. (For the complete saga, please see my previous posts re: Hoehn Audi in Carlsbad.) But we're not here to hear about the expensive nasty past.....but rather to celebrate the awesome service and attitude from METRO TRANSMISSION. I give this shop all five stars for such impeccable no hassle service. If you have the unfortunate experience of a transmission problem ....I don't care if you have to tow your car across country......do whatever it take just get it to this awesome shop. I can't sing their praises enough.
A nightmare situation from Hohen in our 2003 Audi TT was corrected for $2600.00 instead of $7000.00 PLUS Metro even went above and beyond and replaced the air pump which was going out for a fraction of what the dealer wanted. It made a hell of a sucking sound when started and was getting worse. I just hadn't gotten to it yet. Point was, Metro took care of it for me! Above and beyond .
This vehicle only has 65k on it and the transmission started shifting really hard ....
(like toss you through the window on downshift hard) I was told by another shop that it was a transmission issue and it would not be warrantable.
I bought a computer interface and software to check the fault codes and the system showed a code 17116 or PO732--003 reading a Gear 2 :incorrect ratio. When I called METRO the young lady who answered the phone stated: "Oh, yeah.....that's the code usually that shows when the problem is within the valve body of the transmission". True to her word that was the issue. This thing runs better than it ever did and the cost of the repair ......? way .....way ..below the other estimates I'd gotten, but most importantly METRO heard me out and treated me with professional care and respect, communicating clearly all the way through the repair.....and the job was done like next day!! I wish we had more conscientious shops like Metro around. As for Hoehn Audi, well please hear me in this, I have turned wrench for many years and have never met with such mechanical incompetence. Originally this vehicle was towed to them with after overheating. They sold a mass air flow meter, sensor and gage cluster saying that the vehicle in fact hadn't overheated but rather was giving a false reading due to the bad instrument cluster. $2100.00 dollars later. I picked up the vehicle for Paul the owner. The car was a mess ...covered in dust and dirt from sitting outside for two weeks or more during this repair and yet the receipt I held showed a "hand car wash" had been done. Made me wonder. Driving away from the dealer I made it about one mile when the vehicle overheated again !! I was so pissed off I would rather take a bullet to the head than take this back to them to mess it up more. Turns out that Audi used a fiber type impeller blade on their water pumps and the thing failed causing the overheating issue which led to a blown head gasket, which Hoehn totally missed. Now on top of all this the gas gage started working backwards. I got hold of an on line Audi tech service who i informed me that will happen if the wrong part is installed, the wrong cluster. Well needless to say, I was in no hurry to take the car back there for repairs at that time, plus the transmission had started acting up. So I opted to just leave the car parked until the owner came home from college. By the time Paul returned, he was done with Audi and the money he had poured into this vehicle and just wanted it gone-- Bottom line we gave Hoehn Audi the chance to make this right took the vehicle into them to have the gas gage corrected.....they came back wanting $750.00 more dollars saying it was in fact the fuel sending unit and NOT the gage. I couldn't believe they were doing this again, so we took the vehicle to another shop and payed them $400.00 to pull the sending unit and verify it was not working. They found that it was in fact the instrument cluster. We had them document everything and called Escondido Audi to have them check it out. They found that Hoehn had in fact installed the wrong cluster part and Paul shelled out another $1400.00 to have their mistake corrected. Now ? Know any good lawyers?

I just took my Nissan Murano in for a CVT (fancy) transmission fluid change, which they did for half the price. I was also worried about a thunk on acceleration. It turns out my wife's penchant for going over speed bumps too fast had shaken two engine mounts loose! Metro replaced them, fixed the damage to surrounding radiator hoses, and completed the transmission maintenance in time for me to bring in my Z the same day for a fluid change.
It was a great use of my time, I am confident again in the safety of my wife's vehicle, and their charges were very fair.

I asked if they could check out my squeaky front shocks and they referred me back to Rob's Automotive in Vista who had referred me to Metro since the repair required Metro's transmission expertise. I'm good with mechanical things but I draw the line at anything involving the transmission, so I was absolutely terrified when it came time to find someone to rebuild my tranny. Luckily a friend referred me to Eric at Metro Transmission, and I could not be more please with their service. I came in wanting to check my transmission. Car drove almost smoothly just getting a check list done. Left it there for a day and when I got it back, car was not drive able. They told me my back engine seal was cracked. Car wouldn't go past 20 after the inspection. Got it towed to a mechanic my family knew for a while. Turns out this place unplugged a sensor in my car, and tried to charge me 1000.86 to plug it back in. Engine seal was fine. I'm dying to hear an explanation.

Truly impressed. Two days ago I was calling around town trying to find a shop that I could use to diagnose what I thought was a transmission problem with our Ford F150. I was told by Metro Transmission that I could bring it in the next day for the diagnosis free of charge. We dropped off the truck yesterday morning and while describing the issue the mechanic thought he knew exactly what it was and referenced a recent service bulletin from Ford about the problem. Later that afternoon I called to check on the truck. Not only had they diagnosed the problem they had already fixed it and the truck was ready to pick up. It turned out to be exactly what the mechanic said he thought it was. Being an Auto Club approved shop was a bonus too because we got a lower price due to our Triple A membership. We were very happy with the prompt and accurate service and will definitely be back next time we need a repair.

Every time I have taken my Acura in for routine service or in need of repairs, even on an emergency type basis, the employees at Metro have been so cooperative and helpful. The repairs/service are always done in a timely manner and are much more affordable than using the dealership for this same service. I highly recommend Metro to all my friends, neighors and co-workers. This company is the best!

Eric and Rick and Brenda were fantastic. They all were very friendly and ensured that all my questions were answered. I had a failing CVT transmission and gave me several options to choose from. They also informed me of any repairs that needed to be done while doing the requested repair so that I wouldn't have to come back in later to pay more money to do the same repair while the initial repair on the tranny was being done. Many other shops would have kept an engine leak there in order to bring it back in for a costly repair. I appreciated the honesty and service they provide and recommend them to anyone needing service on their vehicle.
