It's been a couple of years since I reviewed PA&T so maybe it's time to do it again. Then again, it's still the same great service. They're fair with their prices and their assessments of what needs to be done now and what can wait until later.
We regularly get new vehicles so any problems are covered under the manufacturer's warranty. But of course, to keep the warranty valid, all the scheduled maintenance must be kept up - and the dealers are more than happy to provide the service. To my wonderful surprise, Paradise can do those routine maintenance services (he keeps a record of them) and that will fulfill the requirements if and when I do need warranty service.
And that's great, too.

-Been coming here for 4+ years now. They are really friendly with a non intimidating customer approach and service. Although I'm male; - this is where the "blond girl" will get treated fair. Several of my own friends and clients get their vehicles serviced here. I get ongoing phone calls and emails from them, thanking me for sending them to Paradise Auto. This place and their staff make me look good to my best friend and client. I highly recommend!

Yelp needs 6 stars to rate Charlie and Paradise! My Kia broke down for the 1st time in 10 years. I had no mechanic so I was referred to Charlie from a co-worker who said he's been using Charlie for several years.
Not only did he explain to me all the work but he showed me everything he was doing to my car. Been driving for 23 years. This is the 1st time I've been treated so well at a mechanic.
Definitely coming back, hopefully not too soon, ;) but I will be back!

Charlie was a life saver for me and my family!
I had started experiencing a lot of play in my steering and some awful noises coming from my suspension so I decided to bring it in to the most honest auto repair guy I knew :) Charlie found out I had a snapped control arm, tore boot and shot front axle. He gave me a couple of price ranges to choose from, one being fixing everything and one being repairing the items that would allow me to at least drive safely... both being far below what my previous auto repair guy would have charged me. I had a lot of work to do and Charlie and his team did it fast and at a price my family could afford.
All my thanks to such a wonderful person. I know no other team in San Diego who I would bring my repairs to in the future. I can't explain enough how good it is to have someone as honest in this industry to help you out in those tough times. Charlie is the greatest!

Paradise has done a fantastic job for me on several cars through the years. They recently did some brake work, and replaced the struts, on my 2000 Sable and it is now a better ride than when it was new! It's great to get so much pleasure from driving a car that's been paid off for 10 years!

I found Paradise Auto & Truck, Diesel & Marine through a local business networking group. I decided to try Charlie's shop to support other members of the weekly group we were both in. I was already happy with another North County mechanic I'd gone to for 3 or 4 years. I figured I'd just quickly switch back if it didn't work out ... my other original guy would never even know I left. ;)
I've had several good experiences with Paradise but all the details boil down to a feeling of trust. I can rely on what Charlie and Darrin his service manager tell me needs to be done and what is merely optional at this point and can wait weeks or even months. This type of honest prioritization and explanation is very helpful for me. Definitely a (non-mechanical female) female-friendly car joint!

Always interesting to see only a handful of reviews all positive. Clearly friends.
They told my mom (little old lady) she needed a radiator, spark plugs timing belt, $1,500. Keep in mind it's a Toyota with 80,000 miles on it.
Took to a real mechanic: spark plug wires? someonone drunk? timing belt? it was replaced by Paradise 11,000 miles ago. In reality it needed brakes but apparently they don't make enough money off those.

I've been taking my cars to Paradise Auto since 2000, when Dan was the owner. I have always been impressed by their honesty, integrity and customer service. This has always been the shop I have recommended to my friends and family, since I absolutely trust their honesty, diagnostics and competence.
When Charlie bought the business, I was wary, but he has continued the tradition of honest and thorough repair work with excellent customer service. I just picked up my truck from a repair there this morning, and I was pleased to see that they have instituted a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty policy. This is nearly unheard of in the auto repair industry. I will continue to enthusiastically recommend this business to everyone who needs auto or truck repair!

Outstanding in every way. We brought our gourmet food truck in to have the engine replaced and not only did they do an excellent job, they did it in a timely manner so that we would not miss any work. I live 30 minutes away and go to Paradise because they always quote me a very fair price. They never upsell me. I get an occasional oil change closer to my home and they never hassle me about it. When I ask questions they aren't annoyed and answer them clearly. BUT,,,, last week my battery died while doing errands. I wasn't near home or Paradise and I called Paradise and they confirmed that the battery was under warranty. It was 15 minutes before closing... I couldn't turn my car off or would need a jump or be stuck waiting for AAA. What a nightmare. He told me if I could get there by 5:15 he would replace my battery. He was waiting for me ready to go. Told me he couldn't let me be stranded somewhere. I was one my way within 30 minutes... no charge of course, made sure all was ok. All after hours..
oh.... and I am NOT a friend. I live 4 towns away and my dad found them, living 3 states away, from referral from the BBB. I am just a girl who likes honest work at honest prices.

My 2006 Escalade truck had this horrible and constant squeaking noise in the front left wheel area. I took her in to Charlie @ Paradise after it had been seen by two other mechanics (I tried to ignore it but it was driving me crazy). Charlie dropped me off at work (yay...points for excellent customer service...after all if I am not working how do I pay for car repairs?). They took apart everything apart and found a lose screw in the wheel that has something to do with alignment that apparently nobody else could find. I waited over a week to review to make sure the repair was effective and happy to report no more squeaking! As far as the cost, I am positive he lost money on this deal, he barely charged me at all....but now I will be back...thanks Charlie!

I've taken my Sequoia in to Paradise twice in the last 6 months. Both visits were a great experience. My brakes are getting low, but they did not pressure me into a brake job. They were honest and let me know I had another 5,000 miles before I needed to come in to have them replaced. They have fixed a few other things on my vehicle and have never made me feel uncomfortable by trying upsell me on other services, which I immensely appreciate. Their prices are fair and I love thier 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

This place has honest folks running the show and fixing cars. I often go here to get my oil changed and they never try to up-sell me or feed me a bunch of BS just to bump up the cost. They're honest and hardworking. The guy at the front desk is always up for a chat about college football and from what I can tell, has a great rapport with the customers. It's clear to see why this place does so well. If you're looking to get just an oil change, that's what you'll get. That's not to say that they won't tell you if they see something wrong with your car, but they'll leave the decision-making up to you.

Being new to the area, my wife and I knew that finding a good garage to get our cars worked on would likely be an ordeal. Fortunately I was lucky enough to be introduced to Charlie, and he has been taking care of us ever since. There aren't many shops that will actually tell you when something doesn't need to be done these days, but Paradise keeps it honest. About 2 months ago, my wife stopped at one of those "express oil" places and they told her that her brakes needed to be done, but when we took it to Charlie's shop they were kind enough to tell us that she had at least 5-7,000 miles before they needed to be changed.
Also, their customer service is unmatched! They stand by the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty they provide and cut no corners. What a great shop!

I was very pleased with Dan and his team at Paradise. I called at 7:30 am on a Tuesday. Dan picked up the phone and was very easy to talk to. What I really liked is that he asked all the right questions and got the paperwork ready so when I arrived he was ready to go. We talked for a few minutes about the fluid leak out of my 2003 Acura MDX. To me this shows that he was proactive and very interested in finding out the problem while saving me time. Within in an hour and a half he got back to me and let me know the cause of the problem and gave me an estimate over the phone and a time he would be finished. It did take them a day to get the parts but once they got them he was ready to go the afternoon he said he would be ready. I had very clear expectations of his timeframe. This happened to work for me so I was very happy. Also, my MDX was due for an oil change and he gave me a competitive price on that with synthetic oil like my ol' MDX needs. But the part that really made me pleasantly surprised was that he reduced the cost of the repair because his technician didn't need the estimated time to do the repair. Wow, what a great guy! I really appreciate it and if I'm ever back in San Marcos, Dan, you've earned my business forever. Thanks Paradise!!!! Thanks Dan!!!!

They went over all the pricing, advantages and disadvantages of each. I made my decision. My car was back in less time than I thought and less money than I thought it would be.
