The guys here are honest, friendly and take great care of their customers! My mom found this place because she was tired of spending hundreds of unnecessary dollars at Firestone! It's hard to find an Auto shop that you can trust, especially being a woman. Brian makes us feel comfortable and explains our car issues thoroughly and let's us make the choice to spend our money. He's not out to get you like most mechanics are. Any issue big or small, I bring it to Bobs Automotive because they are the only guys I trust !

Didn't get actual work done at this place. For one, the quote I got for a brake job was WAY overpriced... might as well go to the dealership... the quote to just slap on the brake pads I would provide was equally as ridiculous... then to top it off... I was told the earliest I could even get that done would be 4 days from then... REALLY?
Luckily there isn't a shortage of places around here to get some simple work done the same day, within a couple of hours, for much less. Saved myself some money and a few days. Perhaps they just didn't want the business. Either way, I'd never go back. I'd say shop around... they seem to be open before most other shops, but waiting was worth it.

Trust this shop with all our cars, currently have a 1953 Chevy truck there for much need transmission and clutch work and some good advice on upgrading to 12 volt. Recently to gave us some very good advice after doing a vehicle inspection before my son purchased a used car. They said walk away, the repairs that it needed to bring things up to date on basic maintenance it need would have cost as much as the car itself. Walked away from that money pit. Thank you Brian and all the guys at Bob's Automotive.

My dad took his cars here for as long as I can remember. That only happened when he could not repair it himself. When I started going to Bob's it was the second generation of the family in charge. Always great work. They have always gone the extra mile, and are honest and keep you informed about the progress when working on problem. A+++

As you can see, many people LOVE Bob's Automotive! They are definitely my family's car mechanic! The staff they employ are well-rounded in their knowledge, are honest, friendly, thorough, and I always give them my full trust. They have open communication with you regarding your vehicle, and are always helpful. I have been going to Bob's Automotive for at least 15 years, and I highly recommend them.

I have used Bob's several times over the past 10 years for our 3 cars. I have always found them to be very competent. I once had an intermittent problem with my car. It would stall out and not start for a while, leaving me stranded for an hour or so with the kids, but it was intermittent, it did not happen everyday. Bob's checked it and gave it back, no charge when the could not find a problem (it never did it when my husband drove it either! He thought I was nuts). After another week, it did it again, so I sent the car back to Bob's. They kept the car for a couple of days,eventually it did stall for them, and they fixed it. They spent a lot of time on my car. It was the computer. Yes, cars are expensive to fix, but I surely did not get charged for all the time they put into it. This was a very weird intermittent glich. I really appreciated their extensive effort.

Bryan was totally rude on the phone. Suggested i should go somewhere else to fix my vacum leak. Which is very surprising to hear from a manager whom in goodfaith should have customers best interest in mind, but apparently not for this vulgar fraud and crook-like manager.

We have been dealing with Bob's Automotive for the past 20+ years when Dan ran it. Now Brian runs the shop and couldn't be happier. Recently took a potential car to them to do a pre-purchase check up on a car my son was thinking of buying, it looked good on the outside, but the carfax showed some possible concerns. Brian had one the techs check it out and came up with some real concerns. Advised us on what the costs would be and advised us to walk away from this one. Sure glad we did as the repairs and required maintenance (that hadn't been done in years) would have cost us the same as the price on the car. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

I called for an estimate for a broken throttle cord in my car. They called me back saying it was going to be 165$ to 175$ part and labor. I felt like that was a rip off. The part was only 25$ so i just fixed it myself in 30 min. Everything runs perfect. If they would have gave me a fair price and everything went smooth i believe they would have had a good customer with all my project cars i would have like to fix. They sound very nice and trustworthy but dont be fooled. Business must be good or they didnt want to work on my car.

I was introduced to Bob's Automotive in 1993 by my then-girlfriend. I needed work done on my '89 Sunbird, and was leery of the work I'd had done by "name brand" auto stores prior to that. Over the next 20 years, Bob's Automotive proved themselves to be as reliable, dependable, and friendly as one could ever ask from an auto service. They kept my '95 Corolla in excellent condition until 2012 (when I was ready to upgrade to a new vehicle), and my '04 Corolla to this day. I lived within walking distance, but they always offered me a ride to or from their facility, especially in poor weather. They always gave my cars a once-over, whether they were in for an oil change or something more serious. If they found anything of any severity, Dan, the owner, would call and discuss it with me -- I never once showed up to a "surprise" bill -- and together we would determine whether or not I really needed it worked on right away or if it could wait. Many times Dan would tell me, "I think you can probably put it off until next time ..." and never once did this advice come back to haunt us. Likewise, during the handful of times where something was wrong that Bob's didn't have the proper equipment to handle (such as, I believe, flushing my air conditioner system? Something like that), Dan would recommend different mechanics in the area, and tell me what price I could likely expect to pay. He would then leave it up to me as to the final choice of where to take my vehicle, but his suggestions panned out every single time. When it finally came time for my family to move away earlier this year, we knew we would sorely miss living so close to a trustworthy mechanic. If it weren't so impracticable, we would be seriously tempted to continue using Bob's Automotive even from 20+ miles further away. If you live in or around the Garden Grove area, I strongly recommend Bob's Automotive. If you are a do-it-yourself mechanic, sure, I imagine you can find cheaper parts and take matters into your own hands. But if you are less comfortable with automotive maintenance, and yet want the ease-of-mind of a reliable service, you will have difficulty finding any place better than Bob's Automotive.

Bob's Automotive is a good repair shop

Bob's is a great place to take your car. My mom took her car there and they were very nice and did not tell her oh you need this and this trying to get more money out of her they just fixed what needed to be fixed and her car runs great.
