We take all our cars to George. It's not very pretty there, but seems like he always goes the extra mile and will help/ tell you what you need to know to pass the smog. Also he's great at analyzing other problems, especially if you're able to leave your car with him for a while. Nothing but honest. I'm really surprised that someone on here gave him a one star? Maybe she had the wrong place.

Needed a STAR smog check on a Sunday. I called this place to see if they had an appointment available. Good thing, since the place isn't necessarily open on Sundays--but you can arrange to meet at a specific time. We loosely planned to meet in the afternoon at 3pm. He was a little tardy, due to other obligations, but once he arrived everything went quick. A good price for a fast and reliable service. I recommend.

The reviews are true!!
I took my 93 Toyota pickup to George after 2 attempts to smog it at another smog and repair place( Eddie's Auto Care). They had some good reviews on yelp, but they couldn't tell me what the problem was but also didn't charge me for the second attempt at smoging my truck (which was good).
I explained the issues to George and I left it with him to figure out. I also told him that he was my last resort and that I was trusting him to figure it out and not give up. Well, he found several issues and the end result was a better running truck that passed smog with flying colors! Thank you,George, for helping me out and not giving up... you've earned my business for life. It was very affordable as well. I will highly recommend you to everyone!

Small shop with a nice Hungarian man. He said he checks to see if a car passes before he charges the $50. So if you feel like you might fail, this might be a good option. Quick. Efficient. Friendly.

Came to this place after failing at another smog place and paying $40 bucks. So I called up this place based on the good reviews on Yelp. Called him up, he seemed like an honest man, said he wouldn't charge me until I pass smog. So I came here, he failed me, told me I needed a new catalytic converter and since my car was newer the only place I could get the part was from the dealership. So I went to the dealership and paid $724 for a new catalytic converter. Didn't have the money right away to have the part put on. So I was waiting til I had the money. Meanwhile I've gotten 2 tickets for expired tags. Just today I went to Good Year for a basic oil change and ended up talking to the guy about my situation. He ran smog on my car because he was confused as to why a newer car (09) would fail, boom, PASSED. Immediately went to Honda to return the part and they charged me a 20% restocking fee. So altogether I've lost $174 plus 2 $90 tickets for an easy smog I should have passed no problem all because of these SNAKES and DISHONEST men trying to screw a girl over! DO NOT GO HERE PEOPLE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

I would give them them more stars if I could. The customer service was exceptional. But more than that, this guy knows what he's doing. If you are having a problem with your car passing smog or anything else, and your tired of getting the run - a - round from mechanics that dont know what they're doing, then this is the place to go. George took only few days because he had to wait on a part. But l also love that he takes the time to explain what he found. He's excited to work on your car. I am happy to say I found a new mechanic who is very professional and takes pride in his work. I will DEFINATELY be returning.

I showed up to George's shop a Monday morning even before he opened in need of a smog check. He did an amazing job and truly knows what he is doing. He caught an issue with my tire and offered to switch it for me . Great guy and very humble. Very honest and great prices. If you have been to other sketchy places you will know that George is very honest the moment you walk inside his shop.
He also refereed me to a different place for additional services that I needed. Do not hesitate to go , he will not disappoint you

Made some calls around the area that I found through Yelp, and this place was definitely the most affordable/cheapest! I came in and was immediately seen. Owner was very friendly and professional, and finished the job in a timely manner (~20mins). Would recommend this place to anyone that needed a quick and affordable smog check! I realized on a Sunday morning that not only did I forget my car registration needed to be paid on that day but it was the first year the car needed to be smogged. Where was I going to find a smog station open on a Sunday? I called a few places hoping to get lucky. George from Good Guys Smog was the only one that answered. The called had rolled-over to his cell and he was so gracious to set up a time to meet him at the shop to smog the car. At the shop, I met George. He was very kind and had me out of there in less than 30 minutes. I can't thank him enough for his flexibility and customer service. He's certainly earned my business.

This was the best smog test experience ever. I had the urgent need to have a car smoged on Sunday and just about every other place is closed. This place is open by appointment only on Sundays. I did not have an appointment but when I called the owner answered and he came over and opened up his shop to do the smog test for me. incredible service, very professional, and a great place to have this type of work done. I will never take any of my cars anywhere else.

What can i say, i had the most amazing experience here. I recently moved from texas and needed to get multiple vehicles a smog. After wasting time and going to multiple places i finally found Good Guys. I was given the run around by other smog places telling me that i needed very expensive repairs in order to pass smog but it was a scam. George from Good guys was the only one that gave me an honest fix and answer in order to pass my vehicles. The repair turned out to be a very minor inexpensive clean up of one of my sensors and with just that i passed my smog. I don't have to tell you guys how rare it is to find someone that is really honest. I will never go to another smog place again and neither should you. Thanks George for the service and honesty because of that you will have return business for a long time!

Mr. George he is definitely a "good guy" just like the name of his shop. I have been going to him about 4 years. My boss Kathy B. originally introduced me to his place to take the company vehicles and George is always there to help. I would take all of my cars over there. I always get plenty of information and details of whats wrong with my vehicle.
The service is fast but if you are really in a rush call ahead.
I do recommend to check out the spot especially if you don't want to get charged an arm and a leg else where.

I needed to get my car smogged on a Sunday to sell it. Good Guys was one of the only places that had Sunday hours. Called the number at 7 on Saturday, thinking they might have the hours listed on the phone message, but was surprised when George picked up and told me to come by at noon the next day.
Smog check went well, and he did a couple of things above and beyond - taking the time to polish up the headlights. He also noticed that the gas cap o-ring was cracked and replaced it for free. He wouldn't let me pay him for it.
Good guy, friendly, knows what he is doing. I highly recommend him.

Excellent Service!!

George, the proprietor of this establishment, is very knowledgeable about California emissions and what it takes for a car to pass. I make the drive all the way from Riverside because I know that Good Guys is an honest and reputable business. Unlike many of the other smog check stations in Southern California, Good Guys has never ripped me off, given me FREE pre-checks (so you can be notified ahead of time if your car may not pass thereby dodging the "Scarlet Number" paper branded on failed vehicles), and conducts themselves with the utmost honesty and integrity at a very reasonable price. With so many crooked and fraudulent smog checks out there now, Good Guys is a diamond in the rough.

I came to Good Guys smog after failing at another smog place and being charged $40. I called good guys after reading good reviews and he said he wouldn't charge me until I passed. So I brought my 09 Civic to him and it failed. He told me to drive around for an hour or so and bring it back. I did, and it still failed. He told me I had a bad catalytic converter and the only place I could buy one is from the dealership. So I went and bought the part. Not having the money to pay for the labor right away, I was waiting to do the repair. Meanwhile I've collected 2 tickets for expired tags. Well the other morning my car made a funny noise so knowing I was due for an oil change I took it to Good Year and ended up telling them about my situation. Confused as to why an 09 civic wasn't passing smog the guy asked if he could run smog on my car to see for himself. It PASSED, no problem. I'm still in shock as to how I got scammed by 2 different places. DISHONEST BUSINESSMEN, people do not give your money to these snakes at Good Guys Smog and 5 Point Gas Station. They are dishonest men trying to make a little extra cash off females like me that don't know much about cars. I've lost $174, gotten 2 $90 tickets and wasted 5 months on something that should have passed no problem the first time around all because of men like this.

Go visit this gentleman, if you need your car smogged. You will not be disappointed. Very few mechanics go out of their way to serve people like us. I own a 2001 VWPassat.
