I am so happy with my experience with San Diego Auto Body! I was in a minor fender bender in my office parking lot a few weeks ago and since I am about to turn my leased car in, I needed it to be fixed. The entire process went so smoothly! The price was very affordable and it was fixed in just a few days. I will for sure be going back there if I ever need any type of body work or paint done again.

They did a great job on my Honda overall but ... I was told every part replaced was factory original. I installed some fog lights and realized the bumper is aftermarket but looks original the paint did match but I was mad because they do wash your car and I didn't notice right away but someone there did a terrible job and left swirls on my cars paint. Never going here again definitely way better options out there

Had a slightly unusual painting job on a motorcycle. Wanted to get a top case painted to match the rest of the bike. It seems as soon as you mention the word motorcycle, most body shops act like they do not want your business and want to run away or charge some ridiculous amount of money. Liz was very happy to work with me and quoted a price that I thought was reasonable for the work being done. The price she quoted me was the exact price I paid. Also, she did not blink at the word motorcycle. She stated 3 days but called me in 2 days to let me know it was ready. The top case turned out exactly the way I wanted it to.
The credit card machine was acting up so she had to do an old manual paper slip. Later that day she proactively e-mailed me a copy of the receipt showing the correct amount was charged. (I like that kind of follow up where you don't have to chase people down.)
All in all a pleasant experience with people who show they appreciate your business and want the customer to be happy.

Delighted with their work!
We got several estimates around town when I needed some minor repair on my new (to me) Mercedes. Liz followed up daily, and while it took a day or two longer than what we originally talked about- I told them to keep it as long as they needed to, I would rather them not rush the work. It looks AMAZING....and guess what? Was HALF of what the highest bid was.

Had an bad experience with this place. Once car was finished I came to find out my keyless start had an error and I couldn't lock and unlock my car! Their excuse was "things happen". It was working before I gave them my car and even reminded them before they started to check that function because my door handle was scratched. They had to take it into the dealer to resolve it. I also didn't like the way they detailed the car after. There were white marks where detailer wax was applied. I also found some debris on my leather seats! I wouldn't be going back.

The BEST Body Shop in San Diego. I have taken my 1954 Chevrolet, 2012 Honda Civic, and 2007 Nissan Titan to them and ALWAYS receive OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
If after picking up your vehicle, something was missed during the inspection just call them, Tarek & Liz will make it right.

This is my first review on yelp, and I feel obligated to because of my terrible experience getting my car fixed here SDABnP. I am very objective with my review as I know how important reviews are and its impact on a business. See below for detailed reason why my experience was a ONE STAR.
Background: My honda was in a minor head on collision with a parked SUV inside my apartment complex just after returning from costco gas station. It needed bumper, and one side fender and headlight replacement. The car can still start and still drivable. I obtained two quotes and SDABnP was cheaper by approx 100 dollars, both of which promised one week for completion.
Pro: - Liz (lady at the front desk) is polite and courteous
- My car looks flawless (from out side) now.
Cons (reason for star deduction:
ONE- They took exactly 30 days to get my car back to me (so I had to pay a rental car extra 20 days beyond what SDABnP originally promised 7 business day...20 days x 40 dollar per day = $800 I had to pay additional due to the delay) ---1 Star deduction
TWO- I had to proactively call SDABnP to find out latest status and each time a different reason for additional delay (1. sorry we are waiting on couple parts to arrive, 2. we put it together but your car won't start, 3. see point FOUR...etc) ---1 Star deduction
THREE- They charge me extra to put in a new starter. But my car starter was good because Liz actually started my car and drove the car from parking into their garage yard on the day I dropped off my car. ---1/2 star deduction
FOUR- On 29th I went to pick up my car, I saw a crack (approx 8 cm long) on the windshield. They argued that the crack was already there, then I had to show them the pictures I took on day one just outside their office to prove the windshield had absolutely no crack to begin with. So they finally agreed to replace the windshield without charge ---1 star deduction.
FIVE- My car had a full tank of gas when I dropped off my car, but was only half full on day of pick up. ---1/2 star deduction
SIX- The interior of my car including hand rest and rear seating area and driver side seat was soiled. My dad hand washes my car twice weekly so it is always clean as if coming from car dealership. ---1/4 star deduction
While my experience appears different than many other reviews here, I want to stress that each word above is true and come straight out of my heart and actual experience.
In conclusion, if you have an extra car and don't mind the possibility of extended delay in having your car back, then by all means you can try having your car fixed here at SDABnP. Just make sure you take good pictures of your car to protect yourself from having to pay for additional damages during the repair process.

San Diego Auto Body & Paint is awesome! Found them online as one of the top rated body shops in my area and decided to check them out.
Recently took the rear spoiler off of my 2002 Mustang. As with any older car, rings are left where the spoiler used to sit. Looked up body shops in the Escondido area and found San Diego Auto Body & Paint. Was greeted by Tarek and I started to ask for advice as to how I would approach the issue with the rings left by the spoiler. He was very friendly and offered to try buffing it by hand to see what he could do. We could see that it was removing a little bit of the ring but more work would be required. Tarek told me to come back during the weekday and they'll take care of it. Brought my car back in, talked to Elisabeth, and she immediately had Salomon work on it. They did a great job and I am extremely happy with it. Must have only taken Solomon minutes where it would have taken me hours to do.
The people at San Diego Auto Body & Paint are great. Even though I only had a limited interaction with them, it was enough to showcase their quality of craftsmanship, professionalism, and service. Definitely will come back if I need any more work done. Check these guys out before going anywhere else.

Ok it's been a year now since my paint job. I wanted to wait to see how the paint held up to give a fair review. Sooo.... paint looked awesome when first done. They detailed it after they painted it and left minor swirl marks, but no biggie to me since it was a much improvement from before.
There were some areas that were not done correctly and Tarek was annoyed when I pointed them out. After going back and forth and getting some of the items address I gave up and accept the car.
I LOVED how my car looked but it's been a year now and the paint is already comming off on the hood. Very small but I only drive this car maybe 2 times a week and it's garaged. Also I can see where they skipped painting areas because the paint is oxidizing (that is the reason I wanted to get it painted, to get rid of that). I spent $3k and probably got ripped off. I should have went with another company I was looking into the charged 1.5 K more and would have done it right.
From what I can see is if u are an insurance customer u will get good service and results but if your a solo customer that wont be the case.

Once again they exceded my expectations. My car was parked on PB drive and someone ran into my car on a beach cruiser.
I was surprised with how much damage was done, It looked like I had been in a major accident, I'm glad the girl on the bike was ok. SD Auto body not only fixed the body damage at less than half the cost, but deliverd my car before I expected. Tarek is awesome! I took my car in today after finding SD Auto Body and Paint on the internet. I just moved to SD and bought my car through a rent2buy program... I didn't realize until I got home that the bumper was unclipped on the side-- the bumper popped out of place each time I drove it.
When I went to SD Auto Body and Paint I told Tarek the issue and what probably needed to be done other than fully replacing the bumper. Tarek was friendly and professional and matched a quote I had previously received from another mechanic. Tarek had my bumper fixed in 30 for free of charge (such a nice surprise)! It was definitely a warm welcome to my new neighbourhood. I will definitely be coming back!! Thank you!

KEEP LOOKING!
I found San Diego Auto Body and Paint using Yelp and now I wish I would have kept looking.
Went to see them about replacing my back bumper after being hit. I went through the other persons insurance, the accident not being my fault.
Anyway, I took it in on a Tuesday and the manager said it should be ready early next week (so 1 week). Almost 2 weeks later I finally got my vehicle back.
During the two weeks they had my vehicle there were many issues with San Diego Auto Body and Paint not communicating with the insurance company I was going through. This caused hours of phone calls and headaches.
After getting my vehicle back I noticed they completely missed painting a spot on the new bumper and found multiple scratches on my car that were not there before! So, I talked to the manager and he said to bring it in and they would take a look/fix it. I picked my vehicle up later that same day and was NOT impressed with the results. I could still see the scratches they made.
Frustrated and angry I arrive home and notice yet another deep scratch in my vehicle that was not there before. I proceeded to email the manager twice over the next week and have never heard back.
San Diego Auto Body and Paint gave poor service and did a poor job. Keep looking.

Just had my car fixed here and am very happy with the whole experience. I went to a big franchise collision repair first for their estimate recommended by Farmers. Got a $2000 estimate. Seeing as I was paying out of pocket for this I had to find somewhere else. Plus this place was busy and not personable. I yelped and got What I was hoping for. Liz explained exactly what they were going to do, had it in writing, said it would be 3 days (not 5 like the other place), and it was $1,300. That felt like an honest price. Everything went smoothly and I was really happy with the results. I'm going back in July to touch up the rest of the car before turning in my leased vehicle.

Tarek and Liz were both wonderful to work with. They are both very knowledgeable, friendly and professionial. They are also always available when I visit or call,or return my messages right away.
I brought in my 2007 Mazdaspeed3 around the first quarter of 2013 for collision repair, which was covered by insurance. I also asked for a quote for a repair that was unrelated to that accident and Tarek was able to give me a very fair quote. Although this additional repair was an out of pocket expense for me, Tarek was able to save me money on paint, labor, etc. by having both repairs done at that time.
My car has special license plate brackets in front and special plate screws in the back. ***In the past, OTHER shops removed these and didn't know what to do with them later on... they either installed them incorrectly, or I found them in a plastic bag in the trunk.*** I forgot to mention/explain this when I dropped off my vehicle and expected the same result when I returned to pick up my vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised to find the both plates installed correctly. This is an example of their attention to detail. the actual repairs, without question, was incredible. Everything was aligned and the paint matched perfectly.
I should also mention that, for those of you who are having work done out of pocket, Tarek is is very good at exploring options for you (i.e. parts repair vs. replacement, certified used parts vs. new, etc.). I also never felt pressured with the decisions I had to make. Even when I first met Tarek and asked for a quote, I was clearly non-commital, but he was very patient with me and thoroughly answered my questions.
I'm also a huge supporter of pet-friendly businesses! On a few visits, Tarek's adorable dog was in the shop, which I thought was awesome. Pet friendly = people friendly in my book.
While I never like being a frequent visitor at a collision repair facility, I'm glad that I can always come back to SD Auto Body & Paint, should the need arise.
This review is way overdue but better late than never!

Not all Yelps are created equal. I've become a big Yelp fan over the last few months, and am learning how to filter the comments.
No filtering is needed with San Diego Auto Body & Paint. Tarek went out of his way to honor to the best of his ability a phone quote that I had received from Liz, the office manager. No haggling, no excuses - just good honest business.
The peeling paint on the tailgate of our backup truck had been bothering me for a year. It was promised back in 7 days - we got it in 5. The truck was also washed and vacuumed better than it has been in some time.
It's nice to know that I now have a Go-To place to take our vehicles for all those dings, scratches and other irritating paint and body related issues.
San Diego Auto Body & Paint - Great service, Great people, Great pricing. Believe the hype!

Got some really good treatment here to fix up the Infiniti after the Perry dealership referred me. Our insurance company had no problem with us selecting this place instead of another company besides the one they wanted us to choose (a big chain down the street). Anyway, this was not small Earl Scheib/Maaco type work. This was a major crash where I hit the center divider and scratched deeply from nose to tail down the driver's side. In just over 2 and a half weeks, it looks brand new.
Two things I was happy enough to Yelp about: the deductible handling was very cool. And they got me into a rental in record time, which was very helpful in the transition. Maybe all auto body work in Escondido is done this way, it was my first experience with it, but I was favorably impressed.
One star gone because the lobby got busy ahead of me and my first appointment was delayed a while.

I used these guys to fix my mothers VW CC. Ironically my brother got crashed into while picking me up from the hospital after I crashed my motorcycle. So I was badly smashed up with 5 broken bones and a collapsed lung. These guys made my car repairs very easy, and even delivered a comfortable rental car to the auto shop when I dropped off my car. They made it comfortable and easy, which was very important given the severity of my injuries.
Essentially they made every step easy, and convenient, and fixed my mom's car to perfection. I couldn't imagine having to go through that process without these guys catering to me every step of the way. I got a great rental, my car was perfectly repaired and most of all there was no stress to me, which really helped my recovery. This time it wasn't just about my car, they also treated me with respect. Great outcome. I highly recommend them for small or large jobs.

I have an old Toyota truck and as many of these great trucks their original paint doesn't do good after some years under the sun. I was searching on the web for a good realible and not too expensive place were they can bring the original look to my truck and make me feel good about it. I have to say that the guys at San Diego Auto Body are the best and they delivered an excellent job.
I want to say, thank you for the great job and I'm 110% sure if another one of my cars needs a paint job, now I know where to go.

I am a frequent visitor on Yelp to read reviews; however, this is actually the first review I have written.
I had large chips of paint come off my bumper during a car wash (the dealership I bought my car from did a poor job repainting my bumper before they sold it to me). I thought repainting the front bumper would really hit my wallet, but San Diego Auto Body & Paint did an extraordinary job at a very reasonable price.
I recommend anyone who wants a professional paint job at a reasonable price, go to this place first!

I was referred to SDAB by a friend of mine. My expensive car got hit by some idiot, and I wanted to make sure that whoever fixed it did a high-end job. I live about 30 minutes away from SDAB, but decided it would be worth the drive if the work would be done right. The owners were really helpful, gave me a comprehensive quote, and even hooked me up with a rental. The car was fixed on-time, and everything came out great. Outstanding work and Outstanding management to compliment it! I have been using San Diego Auto Body and paint for over 3 years. They have repaired over $19,000 in damage on my 2012 Mustang that took 4 Car show trophies after the work had been performed. I had a great experience at SD Auto Body when it came to repairing the door on my 2007 Lexus GS350. The staff was helpful and informative when it came to dealing with my insurance company, and I presume the insurance company of the person that hit me. They provided me with a rental car from the Avis down the street while my car was in the shop, and most importantly they kept me informed on the status of my car throughout the repair process and delivered it back to me when promised.
I hope I never have a reason to go back to an auto-body repair place, but if I do, I'm going to SD Auto Body & Paint.

This shop did a front end repair on my bmw 530. They pulled the frame and replaced the whole front end. The car drives straight and is so clean it looks factory. I got into an accident and aaa totaled the car out. I bought it back from aaa and had them bring it back to life for me. The car was washed inside and out and they did the whole repair on 2 weeks. Aaa said it was a 4 week repair. Excellent quality and service.

I had issues with the paint job that my PT Cruiser had. Took it to the shop and they were very helpful. They fixed my car's paint and gave the car back to me in a better shape in a reasonable time. I didn't have good experience with any body shop before, but found Tarek who is the general manager very helpful and a good businessman.

Tarek was absolutely wonderful. I showed up without calling and he came out and looked at my car immediately. My car was hit while parked by the beach and had awful black marks all along the drivers side, but Tarek pulled out some car polish and a cloth and rubbed them out right there on the spot for free. He then gave me an amazingly low estimate to pull the dent out. He was friendly, honest, and not pushy at all. My boyfriend and I were so pleased with the service that we may even bring his car down from Oregon to be fixed.

I've lived in San Diego for 12 years and unfortunately have been to a few body shops. San Diego auto body is by far the best. I wish I would've known sooner. Professional, courteous, timely and quality workmanship at a good value. They really care about cars and I can confidently say that I highly recommend this shop. They know what they're doing and they care. Believe all the positive hype, it's true. I won't take my car anywhere else!

Ziggy the Dog is King! People will tell you great stuff about a company when they get great price or a great service. I like both. I like value. I am a college student with a HUGE deductible in my insurance which made me look for the best cash deal near SMSU. I think I found it. At first I was worried because the shop is a little building in a really industrial area, but Liz and Ziggy the Dog made me feel right at home. We were able to work it out for price and I beat my deductible by a little bit. Which is good because my rates don't go up for a fender-bender. Thanks guys! I hope I won't be back!
