I have been around a long time, I am 68 Years Old, and a YELP user, Hi I am known as, A.W. By my friends. I have been repeatedly relaying on YELP, and YOU folks who use it to give me and my family feedback and your perspective. Well I recently used it to locate an automotive repair shop to fix my car. I found a repair shop named A-Tech Mobile Auto Repair here on YELP and I contacted the owner Ramon Antonio "Tony" Lerma, This shop is located distance from where I live and is near Marconi & Fulton Avenues in the Arden -Arcade area along with other repair shops. When I first spoke with Tony by phone, I explained to him I had a fuel leak, it was possibly coming from around the fuel pump area. I have had many prior years of experience and knew my way around mostly older cars and those from the late 90's, but since I have a newer type of Jaguar, did not want to have to do the work myself. When I spoke with Tony and he assured me he was more than capable of determining the source of the fuel leak and to fixing it at a very reasonable price. I told him I did not have a lot of money to spend, since I am semi- retired, I still work part-time and my family and I have fixed income.I've worked all my life to have a nicer ride for me and my family and I still can do some things myself, but I relay on others for the critical stuff. My original contact with Tony was over the phone, He sounded so confident in his abilities, He explained he had ASE certifications and that he had many years of experience having previously worked at several higher end automotive dealerships before starting his own shop. Based on ALL the great reviews I read here on YELP, plus his stated experience/expertise, and that he assured me he could have the job done/completed in a very short-time
I was pleased to have him work on my ride. I had even passed up several other repair shops because THEY HAD INDICATED it may take up to three to four days to complete. On December 28th I had my vehicle towed to Tony's Shop, He eventually made the repairs and I paid him and picked up my vehicle from this shop
NOW Here is some IMPORTANT DETAILS I DID NOT MENTION ABOVE: As I said my car was towed to Tony's shop on the early afternoon of Dec 28, 2015, and it actually took (16) YES sixteen days until I got it back from Tony on Jan13, 2016. After the first few days the vehicle was at the shop, I attempted to contact Tony by phone several times, when I was finally able to reach him, he assured me he was on it and would have it done ASAP. He told me the issue was a plastic cracked tube at the top of the fuel pump itself and that he tried to use a J-B Weld type bonding product on the plastic tube to fix the leak, he explained he was trying to stay within my budget.Well I don't understand why when he discovered the issue he did not immediately let me know and why would use such a product on a critical fuel component and not tell me that the upper fuel pump was cracked beyond repair. He then told me I was going to have to get a another fuel pump, he would later find a used one he said cost $150, Tony later told me he had installed it and that the vehicle still had a fuel leaking issue and that he would have to replace two rubber fuel seals at a cost $22 each and that he could only get the seals from a specialty parts vendor called FPS and that it would take a few days for them to arrive at his shop.I mention that O'Reilly carried the same seals for less than $15 each. My biggest MISTAKE was trusting him, what I had read about him on here and not going up to his shop and meeting him in person when I had my car towed to his shop. To say the least I and my family spent 16 days without my vehicle being repaired, my wife and I took off about a week from working because we had no vehicle; we caught the trolley, bus and rides from friends during this time. On more than five occasions, I came up to the shop to see the progress of the repair, I should have known the first time this place was not the place for my vehicle to be, He has a small lot full of trash and junk vehicles. even how he maintains the inside portion of his repair shop indicated he was messy. sloppy and disorganized.
I only saw Tony briefly present at his shop once, I mostly could not even reach him by phone. I have only met him face to face twice the last time was when I paid him. On one occasion I found my vehicle outside of his shop, with the passenger window cracked open and the vehicle was left unlocked, giving anyone access to my personal belongs and that it had significant smell of gasoline emitting throughout the my vehicle. How he treats my vehicle was unacceptable to me and made me angry. I thought about taking my vehicle, but weight the options I really Thought the other TWO bad reviews on here were just made up stuff, NOW I know those folks were really TELLING the TRUTH about TONY'S LYING ASS!. You can see he got new reviews up here that was left for him the same day I got my car

We called on a Sunday while looking at an old bronco for sale by owner. Tony answered the call and came within the hour to our location for a full pre purchase inspection. Really Nice guy, and very knowledgable. Honest guy who walked us through the concerns. Took the car for a thorough test drive after full inspection. We were very pleased. Fair price.

UNPROFESSIONAL and RIPOFF.
This guy is a joke. Confirmed with him twice that we would meet at his shop at 8:25am but he didn't show up until 8:48am. Once he did show up he took his sweet time opening his shop, changing his shoes and talking on his phone.
Charged me $75 for a diagnostic when I had already told him what was wrong with my car. He said he still had to check himself to make sure. Charged me $160 to simply switch my break light fuse.
Run, turn around don't get fooled by this guy.

5 stars is not enough for this guy, he took care of my baby & returned her in tip top shape! I'm referring to my 2009 ML 350 Mercedes Benz.. Prior to taking my car to Tony, I took it to Mercedes for my $450 maintenance check & of course after they recommended $3k worth of repairs..I love Mercedes Benz service dept, but um ya not happening found tony & he saved the day!!! Tony replaced my thermostat, steering pump, brake pads & rotors & all for an affordable price..nearly 1/2 of what the dealer was asking!!! My car runs amazing & was returned to me in 2 days as promised. The only downfall is he didn't provide a brand new Mercedes loaner or fresh coffee, but hey, he saved my pocket book right before Uncle Sam came to visit save yourself the time, stress & hassle, go see Tony..he will take care of your ride!!!

I've used the service a couple times, during a used car buying experience. It was great to get some help in the process! I had a tech come out and look at an older Tahoe with me and the guy spent a lot of time combing over the vehicle, running scanners, and test driving it. I wound up not buying the vehicle (after hearing all the problems/likely problems) which saved me some guaranteed headaches and $$$ down the road! Way worth the pre-purchase inspection fee!

Reached out to Anthony because I my car stopped running after messing with the car alarm and needed a mobile mechanic. Anthony really knows his stuff and explained what he thought was wrong. Turned out the battery needed to fully reset and I just needed to be patient. He didn't even need to come and and it didn't cost me a dime so I really appreciate it. I will be going to him next time for sure!

TONY rocked!
We needed a pre-purchase inspection ASAP and in just over an hour Tony rolls up. Cargo shorts and a wad of chew in his lip he tells it like it is. No bullshit. We were so close to buying this van and after he looked it over... Well, we didn't. He looked up other vans on Craigslist with us and gave us a discount to inspect a second van. We headed out to another sellers place and BAM! Got a van that's solid! Thanks Tony!

I called Anthony regarding my 2007 Toyota Prius he quoted me no problem he wasn't trying to sell me something I didn't need. He later followed up by texting and staying in contact with me arranging for me to drop my car with ease. Every text I sent to him I received fast responses with no extra bs. The man completes his work in a timely matter and holds his word. Would highly recommend dealing with Anthony over any other shop. I've been servicing my car at Toyota for 8 years and now I'm changing. He does good work.

Tony is the man.
I broke down a mile from his shop (My idler pulley was loose and fell right off on my 1997 Nissan Maxima).
I texted him our location and he showed up within 15 minutes. He made sure we were safe to drive to his shop, set us up with parts, made a run when he needed more parts, charged 95$ for about an hour and a half of labor (including all his back and forth trips to the parts store). Friendly, honest, helpful. I would recommend especially if you from are out of town and are stuck on the roadside.
Bonus note: This was on a Sunday morning and squeezed this in before brunch with his kids.

Happy to add another 5 star review for this business.
I called this morning to request a quote and Tony was able to give me a quote instantly and let me know his mobile repair schedule as well. The price quote was extremely fair for Sunday service with only an hours notice.
When Tony arrived he was very personable, friendly and knowledgable. The repair took 40 minutes, if we would have tried to do it ourselves it probably would have taken us a few hours if we were lucky. I am very glad that we called A-Tech Mobile and that Tony had time for us today!

As I begin to write a review, I now realize that I forgot to catch the guy's name, but he was awesome. I have had the worst luck with my car lately and have been scarred from terrible car services in the past. However, this guy totally exceeded my expectation. I called him around noon to acquire a quote on installment of a side view mirror. By 12:45pm he was in the parking lot at my work, repairing my mirror on site during my lunch break. It only took him about 15 minutes. He was knowledgeable, honest, and very helpful. Although the price seemed a little high for the simplicity of the work he was doing, I can't complain about the same day, last minute service and the mobility he has to meet you at your location. Great service and cool guy!! I'll definitely be giving him a call in the future with any car issues that may arise.

Currently I am sitting at Tony's shop. Brief background my car overheated and tony was the only person who could come see the car. He told me he would come look at the car the next day around 8:30 am. But Tony never showed up, I wasted a day and missed work. Now finally he's had a chance to look at it, I've already paid 120.00 for basically a diagnostic. No work has been yet and his attire is unprofessional. He's smoking cigarettes, cursing, and didn't replace anything. He told me my 120 would go towards the repairs but it didn't. He blamed the fact that it's an "American" car. And after all this "work" he did which I paid all my money towards, my car stops working 3 miles from his shop. Literally at a stop light and it dies. I called him back and he said "well the oil leak can make the car not start." So originally quotes 280 to replace all the spark plugs, my oil leak, thermostat, and another service which I thought was great but I only had 205 at the time but when I called back and he said well the thermostat will cost 180, plus 50 for the oil leak repair. And now I'm stranded on the side of the road with no money because he took it all and my car isn't fixed. If the oil leak was a huge deal then why not fix that rather than just switching plugs around. Never doing this again, I didn't know anything about cars and I just feel manipulated. I did appreciate him checking in with me but I have to pay for a tow home and back because he's not at his shop even though it's open until 8. Ugh

He could have easily just came out here and charged me to tell me the same thing he just told me over the phone. Anytime I have a problem with Big Moma (my truck) Tony will be the first person I call.

So a few days ago I went out to my car and it didn't start. I tried jumping it and it still didn't start. Things were still turning on so I knew it wasn't the battery... But what I did know was that it was something else. Something that I didn't save for and plan on spending money on. So I called my insurance company and they said they can tow my car within 10 miles of my location because that's where the nearest dealership is, 10 miles away. I know I didn't want to go to a dealership cause that would cost an arm and a leg and I have a 93 Honda Civic, so I know I can get parts for cheaper, but the true question was where? The first place that popped up on my yelp feed was A-Tech, and now I know why. I called first to see if they would be able to help me and Tony said, no problem, bring the car in. I brought in the car and within an hour or less Tony figured out what the problem was... My distributor. A few hours later the car was back up and running. He even helped me with a few cosmetic problems on my car for free. Tony was very helpful and informative. I'll definitely be going back to Tony if I have any car problems in the future.

Tony is awesome. I broke down 845 monday morning with a 1 year old in the car so I needed someone to come to me fast as I was stranded in a parking lot. Tony was able to come help me right when I called. It could have been the timing being perfect but he showed up in about 15 minutes, fixed my jeeps issue soon after getting there and had me back on the road in no time. I would recommend him to anyone and kept his number in my contacts as I am sure I will use his services again. Thanks for everything.

Your new mechanic is an honest business man and quite the character. He did the used car check up for me today. Thank God the problem was just a bad battery. He changed the battery, a headlight (for free!!), and calmed me down because I know nothing about cars. Plus he got me in the same day I called him!! May not sound like a lot but if you're like me and you can't function with no car then save his number in your phone because not only does he have a shop ( it was neat since no car was being rebuilt), he is a mobile mechanic too. Import or domestic you are in good hands. I will definitely come back and have started telling my friends about this place already. Thanx again Tony

Tony is amazing, I called him on a Saturday night because my car was making a weird noise & sparks were coming from under the hood. He came out by 10am Sunday morning & diagnosed it with a bad alternator. I also had a family emergency & I needed it fixed ASAP, so he got the part & my car was running again smoothly by 1pm. He also cleaned some scratches off the body that I said were an eyesore. I will definitely be using him again if anything else goes wrong on my car, he was really quick & extremely knowledgeable.

Tony is the man. When my power steering pump blew and started oozing fluid all over my street, I called him and setup an appointment for the next morning. He came to my house and after deciding that he needed to make the repair at his shop, I followed him there and dropped off my truck. 4 hours later I picked it up (took an extra few minutes as Tony likes to meticulously clean any grease smudges off of other parts under the hood) and everything is good as new. He understood that I couldn't pay cash and happily took my credit card. The financial damage wasn't as bad as I had expected, either. Moral of the story: Tony is just a friendly, straight forward, no BS mechanic.

Tony really saved my bacon. Drove to Sacramento in a vintage auto on a Friday afternoon for a weekend trip. Overheated on the way and then the brakes quit on Friday evening. The corner garage that my mother-in-law has used for decades wouldn't commit take a look, but said they might. Saturday morning, the called to say they couldn't squeeze me in. Thanks to Yelp I found some repair shops open on Saturdays. Called Tony from A-tech Mobile Auto Repair. He gladly agreed to meet me at his shop around 9:45 a.m. I brought the car over and I was a little concerned. The shop looks disorganized and dirty. Tony got in the car and took it for a test drive with me, quickly diagnosed the problem and agreed to take care of it. I had some things to do (that I had come to Sacramento for), so I took off. He called me in a couple of hours. He had been able to find the necessary parts (after driving to several places), gave me an estimate and said he could have it done in a few hours. He called me around 5 pm saying the car was almost ready. I had my wife drop me off. He had the brakes fixed and adjusted (replaced master cylinder, replaced brake shoes, and all four wheel cylinders) and was installing a fan shroud so I would get better cooling on the way home. Was able to drive home on a warm Sunday with the AC on full blast for 2 hours without any overheating, and the brakes worked perfectly.
I wouldn't hesitate to call Tony again in the future. On top of everything, he's a really nice guy. Really fun to talk to. Don't worry about the disorganized shop. Tony is a great mechanic and a really great guy.

Our RV had some issues with the running lights & brake lights while we were on the way to Burning Man, so we stopped in Sacramento on a Sunday to try to fix it at a Pep Boys. They didn't have the parts we needed, and we were feeling sort of hopeless when we realized no one was going to be available on a Sunday to maintenance the RV. Then, we found Tony!
He went above and beyond to try to help us. His cheerful attitude and friendly smile helped soothe our nerves as he deftly fixed the lighting issues. He then took extra time to help us get new wiper blades and even made sure they were fitted just right.
When the brake lights failed again in Truckee and again in Reno, we called him both times and he talked us through changing the fuses. I could tell he would have jumped in his car to come help us if we were any closer! :)

Took in my 2003 Acura MDX after dealership wanted to replace my power steering pump. Tony checked out the noise and worked his magic, turned out it was ONLY the o-ring in the pump that need replacing!! It made sense since I only had the noisy pump when the car first started up in the morning...after it warmed up the noise went away.
Out the door price for diagnosis, parts, and labor was $75....saved me hundreds on the work!! Highly recommend this place, kind of hidden behind La Rosa Blanca on the southwest corner of Fulton & Marconi....
Save yourself some grief and cash, get this guy to fix your ride...btw, I spoke with Tony for a while and he had worked at Lexus, Acura, Toyota, GM and Ford dealerships before taking off on his own and living the American dream!!

This guy is AWESOME!!!! I called him mid-day to come out and do a diagnostic, and explained to him my financial situation wasn't too great and I was hoping to find out what was wrong and be able to have some one else fix it for me for cheap. So he did the diagnostic and told me exactly what was wrong, and let me know price estimates, and allowed me to try to have some one else fix the issue. Turns out, the guy friends that were supposed to help me replace the busted heater hose couldn't do it! I called Tony out at 7pm at night, after already having him out once that day, and he came out and fixed my heater hose for me in such a quick time, I was amazed! He is VERY friendly, and a great mechanic. I recommend him to everyone looking for quality work at fair prices, with great customer service. Honest and reliable! Definitely going to be my go-to mechanic from now on!

I am recommending all my friends and family to go here! I went to get my axels replaced only. While I was there, I asked if he could check out a leak I thought I had. He checked it and immediately realized it was just condensation from my a/c. First time a mechanic didnt tack on more than I needed. In passing conversation I told him about my squeaky breaks that I knew were just cheap, but he went above and beyond by resurfacing them and replaced a part that was really crappy, with a more sturdy part. I can tell he really enjoys his work. My car came out of his shop in perfect working condition for such a great deal too!

We rented a chevrolet suburban for a weekend in Tahoe and I broke the passenger side door handle while opening the door. We called around in sacramento and found very few places open on sunday. Also most of the places told us we would have to buy a new door handle from Chevrolet dealer which were closed on Sunday. We had to return the car on Sunday itself and could not wait for Monday. Only Tony responded positively and was willing to take a look at our car. We took the car to him and he was able to fix the issue in just half hour and charged us a very reasonable price. Tony is a great mechanic and a really nice honest person. We highly recommend him!!!

A friend of mine suggested a mobile mechanic for my 98 Camry, she was leaking oil terribly. I found Tony right here on yelp and gave him a call. Took my car to him that day for a look and since she was "really barfin' oil" Tony got me in on a Saturday morning! This dude is great! Gave me a great price, stuck to it and did a couple nice things like changing my radiator cap and fixing a vacuum leak I didnt even know was there. he did that with no extra charge, I am a customer for life and have already recommended him to my job for commercial van repair, and he hit that outta the ballpark, too!

I have been searching for a honest and great mechanic shop where I would feel much comfortable at and not feel like I am being taken advantage of and I must say I am so blessed an thankful to have found one. 1st Choice Auto Repair was a first-time experience I had with an auto service without feeling unsure as to what I was getting myself into. Not only was the customer service, fast, efficient and professional, they worked my car into their busy schedule in order to accommodate my immediate transportation needs. I did a lot of price checking prior to making an appointment and 1st Choice Auto's were unbeatable. They also gave me a free oil change for doing business with them as a first-time customer. The mechanical issues were thoroughly explained, taken care of and there were no "surprises" or additional fees for anything extra that my vehicle didnt need. I'm happy to say I'll look no further and can rely on them for their expertise auto repair knowledge and service.
