I had my car at a tire and wheel shop here in SF. What started with a simple brake job turned in to a long term repair. I had to take my car from the Tire and Wheel shop.
I searched Yelp for a good mechanic. Talked to the guys, Mike and Gunther, at All Pro and they assured me they could solve the problem.
They ended up changing everything in the brake system. I picked up the car, but it still had the weak braking as before the first attempt.
I brought it back to All Pro and they went to work again. They changed everything multiple times. Trying different manufactures parts, and anything else they could.
When it was all said and done. They only charged me for the original repair. They must have spent 20 times the hours needed to complete this repair. They stood by their word and guarantee and worked on it till it was fixed and I was satisfied.
When I picked up the car, they told me to drive it around a while and bring it back so they can check it out.
Great Service, Great People, Great Shop.

Came here because of the Advertiser, they had an ad here with the cheapest alignment rates. So I came here to get my alignment and didn't have a Costco card before so couldn't get some food while I waited.
Well 45 minutes later, the guy hands me the bill and says it is done. He didn't tell me the machine was out of paper prior to doing the job and worst of all they didn't use seat liners and my car smell of sweat from the guy who was doing my alignment.
So I had to pay on the word of the owner that my alignment was done correctly and drive my car that smell like a locker room from someone else's sweat.

Been using All Pro for years now, they've done a lot of painting and mechanical on my personal cars as well as some of my customers cars. Being in the same business I can appreciate the honesty and integrity that Mike and Gunther bring to the table. They painted my 65 Ford Falcon and I couldn't be more happy. Good paint jobs are not cheap, you get what you pay for.
Gunther had his guys take my Falcon to bare metal, removed my doors, they went above and beyond my expectations and as long as they're there I'll always use them for my paint and body work.
The important thing to know is All Pro stands behind their work, if you have a problem they'll do whatever it takes to make you happy.
Go in and meet Mike and Gunther, they'll treat you great.

This is the best shop in the city. These guys know what they are doing and get you on the road in no time. I have a 1964 1/2 Mustang which needed some major motor work. Within a week they fixed my cylinders, tweaked my carb, and did a major tune up to have my Stang running like never before. I have a transmission which was rebuilt from these guys too and the work was excellent.

As a woman trying to find an honest mechanic can seem so impossible these day's.. All Pro Mechanicx are not only honest they're respectful, trustworthy, knowledgeable, professional and reasonably priced for high quality work. Mike and his staff elude excellence in all that they do.

I started going to All Pro Mechanicx after my former mechanic retired and recommended them. I've now been going to them for something like 5 years straight, and they are top-notch in all ways.
Great service, high quality work, reasonable prices, quick turnaround, and they stand behind their work.
It can hard to find a good, trustworthy mechanic, so whenever a friend asks if I know of one, I tell them to go to All Pro Mechanicx
I'd recommend the same to anybody looking for a mechanic--I've never been to a better one and I will continue taking my car to them for the foreseeable future.

Mechanics are a rare breed. At first glance we are a bit skeptical and then hopefully we warm up to the idea that they truly know what they're talking about and can help us out. Now by "help", I mean physically fix our vehicles and the binds that we're in without breaking our budget. And also not cheating us out of products/services we need. I had a not-so-unique experience with All Pro Mechanics.
I took my car in to get some things repaired on my recently purchased used vehicle. I knew there were specific things that needed to get done and I read the previous reviews so I thought, what the heck - let's do it. The biggest factor that made my decision for me was the fact that they could get me in on the day I called. BIG plus, I thought, but I guess that could've been a bad sign seeing as how every other mechanic I called was busy at least a week out. I went inside anyhow. Gunther greeted me while his boss typed away on the computer behind him. He seemed like a pleasant fellow and was eager to please while assuring me my car could be fixed within the same day. GREAT! I asked about prices and they said they'd give me a call if they noticed any other issues.
First things first... I asked them to fix my camshaft actuator so that I could take my car in to pass smog and get my DMV registration all settled. They replaced the camshaft solenoid and realized that there was still a problem(check engine light was still on). Ok, that's fine but could you please put my old solenoid back on so that A. you won't charge me for the part I didn't need and B. fix the real issue at hand. None of the above happened. Not only was I charged for the part and service, my car still needed work on the specific issue at hand, AND I noticed that when the car was missing when I came to pick it up they said it was on a trip around the block for a test drive. Well that test drive lasted 40mins and I saw them take a computer tower out of my passenger seat. Running errands much? SUPER sketchy.
I wanted to continue with my faith in their honesty...I asked if they would fix my blinker problem since my front blinkers wouldn't blink. They said they checked the fuses and everything was fine, replaced the bulbs and still nothing blinked so they explained that it was probably an electrical issue, but don't worry "we wont charge you for the bulbs". I assume that was all "cheap" work so they leaned in to dig deeper into my pocket with "missing" seals and engine leaks left and right. After they said the next job was going to be $1,600+(saw service estimate on actual bill) I ended up taking my car away from them, paid them for the work they did and went on my way. Did they fix the camshaft actuator issue I originally asked them to? Yes, but I was still charged for the solenoid I didn't need when the belt just needed proper placement, and various hours of service charges in which my car was supposed to be done in less than 1 day.
This seemed a bit sketchy to me and yet I STILL wanted to believe they were good-hearted people. Wrong. I took my car to a Volvo dealership and they were done in less than an hour!!! My lights blinked again(they said they just needed new fuses). Hmmm I thought All Pro said the fuses were fine? The Volvo dealership also fixed my 12-volt charger(something I originally asked All Pro to fix but they never got to - again just a fuse issue), placed a new cap on my engine (the seal was missing and that was causing some of the oil leak), gave me an overall inspection, AND detailed the car for me. All-in-all costing me $134!!! That's about $600 less than what I paid at All Pro. The dealership said that the breaks needed a bit or work and there was still a small oil leak. I fixed it all and at the end of the day I walked away paying WAY less than the $1500 All Pro quoted me for JUST the oil leak issue.
I would NEVER go back to this place again and even though this was JUST my experience, I don't think this shop is on the side of the customer.

All-pro mechanics has fulfilled the stereotype of mechanics being swindlers. I've brought my ford explorer here 2 times over the course of 3 months. The first time they were supposed to figure out why the engine sounded like a train, and fix some doors so that they would open again (the latch or handles were broken), and fix a break light. They kept it for 4 days. At first they said it would be ready at the end of the day, but when I took a bus to pick it up they asked to keep it over the weekend and confidently reassured me that it would be ready on Monday morning at 10 am. I told them I'd be by Monday around 5:30 pm. When I arrived yet again by bus it was not ready. They promised it would be ready Tuesday morning. So again I just told them they could keep it all day Tuesday. In the meantime, I'm borrowing my bosses car during the day because 3-4 hours of my work day involves driving around the mission picking up dogs and going to fort funston across the city for off-leash walks. When I came at 530 pm, I tried the drivers side door and it would not open. They proceeded to hurriedly try to fix the driver door handle. It did not look like they replaced anything, but rather they were trying to fiddle with the latch and wires. They said they changed the engine filter and fixed the handles. The drivers side door still felt a little janky when opened but I was not about to leave the car for another day. I needed my car back because my bosses needed hers back and I could not afford to be out of work. Gunther said that if anything broke again within a year or 12,000 miles they would fix it again for free. They charged me $500 for back break bulb, 2 door handles, and an engine filter. At no point did they call me or inform me how much the repairs would cost. It's also frustrating that when I called to make an appointment thy made it sound as though my car would be ready at the end of the day. Instead of being honest and letting me know they're booked up and/or needed a few days to work on it I was always informed last minute, at a great inconvenience to me, that they needed more time. If they had just been upfront, I could have made an appointment elsewhere or planned around their work. The next day, the driver side door broke again. I called all pro mechancx to inform them of this but that I would not be able to bring it back anytime soon because I could not take off work. So I had to continue to climb in through the passengers side to get into the drivers seat, which is unimaginably irritating when I'm getting in the car 20 times a day picking up and dropping off dogs. A week and a half later the break light went out again. I finally quit dog walking 3 months later and brought my car in immediately. This time, I assumed they were going to spend 3-4 days fixing one door handle, despite Gunthers assurances that it's be done the day of. I called before getting on the bus to pick it up. Each time they again informed me it'd be ready in the morning the next day. This continued for 4 days. I finally went to pick up the car with my boyfriend (the true owner of the vehicle and my designated male to ensure I didn't get swindled by a mechanic). Gunther said they changed a fuse and replaced the latch, and that it would be $200. Again, he never called me to inform me of the repair costs prior to working on the car. I asked him why they were charging me for repairs I already paid for. Gunther did his spiel and said he'd remove the labor cost, dropping it to $150. It was transparent that he had planned to do this to pacify me if I caused problems. His 'reasoning' was that they fixed the locks last time, and this time they replaced the latch (forgetting to acknowledge the fact that he was still charging me for the brake light). At this point my boyfriend stepped in and informed them that I came in the first time to have the doors fixed PERIOD. If they did not do what they needed to fix it the first time, that is on them and they need to eat the cost. It also did not help that my boyfriend had taken off the inner door panel after the first time to see they had not, in fact replaced or fixed anything. It did not take much arguing to convince Gunther otherwise, and thankfully I left without being swindled again. I was so frazzled that I did not notice until I was home that the handle they replaced is black (my car is green) and not primed (which means it will rust off in a few years). I don't care what my car looks like. I already have a black, unprimed panel on my car, but it would have been courteous and ethical to call the owner of the vehicle that the door handle you're putting on their car won't match any of the others... I'm so glad to be done with all pro mechanicx. You could not pay me to take my car back there. They've wasted my time, money, and lied to me. I understand being overworked, or bosses biting off more than their employees can chew, but nothing justifies exploiting people.

Wow, talk about the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic. I took my VW Golf here for body work and transmission issues due to an accident. Gunther took care of me, and Mike the owner really stepped up to the plate. They outsourced the transmission rebuild to a different location, but when I got the vehicle back I had a completely different issue. It did take a long time, but so many parts and repairs were done to the vehicle without me having to pay any more than the original estimate. They really stepped up and took care of me, and are honestly great mechanics and good people. They won't try to sell you something you don't need, and really do their very best to take care of you. My car started having trouble right in front of All Pro. I was in the neighborhood to use the coin-op car wash across the street. The owner crossed the street with me and diagnosed my faulty clutch pedal for me and told me it was probably the fault of the last mechanic who worked on the clutch system. I asked him if he wanted to fix it, and he said he'd be happy to, but honestly told me I should make the other mechanic do it for free, rather than pay him to do it. I ended up having All Pro doing it, since the other mechanic was much too far away.
There was a hiccup from the BMW dealer, but once All Pro finally got the parts (not their fault) they installed it quickly for me. Great service. Gunther is the main man there, and he treated me great.

Gunther has another friend for life. I went in this morning thinking there was something wrong with my airconditioning and wanted it fixed because i'm going to be spending a week in the Central Valley.
His guy looked at it and showed me that the problem was in how i was trying to turn it on.
Didn't charge me.
I slipped him a twenty for the worker (and for my embarrassment), and now i'm eagerly waiting for the damn thing to actually fail so i can go to Gunther to have if fixed.

My clutch started slipping and I was in need of a new one.. So I started calling around gathering estimates, everyone's prices were through the roof... Then I remembered All Pro Mechanicx. I have used them twice before, with jobs too big for me to do on my own on, and they were always very friendly and very helpful. This visit I Spoke to Gunther, who not only quoted me what I thought was a fair price, but also took my truck in that day. It was ready early the next afternoon. The other three shops couldn't do the job for 2-3 days.
Upon pick up, Gunther let me know he noticed my rear main seal was leaking, so he went ahead and replaced it while they were doing the clutch.. Now that is good service! This was a pain free visit to the auto shop. Gunther and the crews great service and attention to detail will definitely have me coming back in the future.

Quick, professional, and very helpful. I called the day before for an oil change and they took my car in the next day. They actually did the service for free, because I am a new customer. When I came back to pick up my car I told him I noticed my tail light came loose a few days ago. He said I need a new light, but recommended going to the dealership to cover it under warranty. He did as much as he could to make it stay for the time being. Gunther and his team really went above and beyond.

The engine light came on in my 2007 Nissan Sentra and I knew I was due for an oil change so I decided to go to All Pro because they had great reviews. I haven't owned a car in years and I was nervous being a woman and going into a shop not knowing if there is anything wrong with my car.
Gunther was really kind and straightforward, they ran a diagnostic scan on my car free of charge. They told me I had a minor problem with my emissions system. But he assured me my car was fine to drive and it was nothing that I had to deal right away (which was good because I am a student and on a tight budget).
Also my side mirror was attached to my car with duck tape at the time (some jerk had clipped it off while my car was parked on the street in my neighborhood). I hadn't planned on getting it fixed because I didn't know how much it would cost or if I would have to get a new one. They offered to reattach it for me...which was awesome.
All I was charged for was the oil change...$30! They didn't even charge me for reattaching the mirror. That was very kind of them. I was thoroughly grateful, and I drove off with much needed peace of mind.
Amazing service! I will definitely be back next time I need anything done for my car!

Got my front breaks done here and they did such a great job I came back when it was time for the rear breaks to be done... Not only did they do a great job on the rear breaks but when I asked if they could replace a turn signal lamp that had failed they told me after replacing Tue bulb that the socket needed to be replaced and I would have to come back tomorrow. When I brought my Jaguar back the next day not only did they replace the turn lamp socket for free they thru in an oil change!! How awesome is that!!?? I'm never taking my car any place else! Ever!

Referred by my boss. This shop is SOMA and freeway convenient off the 9th St. exit What I appreciate about this shop is that I have found mechanic I can trust that speedily gets that job done for less -- less than my dealer, less (tires) than COSTCO. Gunther worked with me to get the work done AND made suggestions that make sense and save money. Talked me out of run flats and into top of the line Pirellis for less. Now that's value!

Called in last friday about a leak I had in my rear differential on my BMW 330i. Came in about 12 and that was right when they had lunch. I waited for about an hour and my car was taken on the lift right after the guys got back from lunch. After tightening some screws the manager told me that the screws were loose and did not take any money for their time.
Its hard to find shops that don't try to squeeze every last penny out of you but those guys treated me fair and I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of.

I just moved to SF from Seattle and my car needed a Brake job. All 4 rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced. I have an Audi Q7 and the dealers were asking over $1600 for the whole job. All pro Mechanicx not only fix the brakes at 40% less than dealer price, they also did an excellent job. I had concerns about the fix and went twice after they fix it and they were happy to answer the questions and explained me each and every detail with a smile.
Overall honest and prompt in fixing and they honor there commitment, Definitely recommend.

It pains me to write this review, but I must. First thing: Raul is the best mechanic I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. He's quick, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about my precious BMW(s). He ran this shop like a well oiled machine and left me with a smile on my face every single time. Prior to my experience over the past few weeks, I'd give this place 5 stars without a thought, they used to be incredible and Raul is THE reason for that (single day turnarounds without warning on my part, fixing major repairs...all Raul's beautiful mind and his team that he led so well).
The owner on the other hand, is the polar opposite of Raul. Mike has been rude and unpleasant towards myself and my significant other, despite 5 years of loyalty to this shop and a hell of a lot of money spent on 3 BMW's over the years (all that loyalty is solely because of Raul, he's a wonderful man). Not only is Mike rude and dismissive, but he missed crucial mechanical failures in a pre-inspection service for a newer BMW I'm considering buying. He's become a cancer at this previously incredible shop and I will never go back again. You seemed to have pushed Raul away and you just lost a LOT of referrals and a LOT of business Mike...you should understand your customer before you dismiss them so brashly and you should understand the quality and service Raul brings to this shop. You have failed.
That said, if Raul moves on, I have utter faith in his abilities and I'll follow him where he goes. Mike, you done messed up your business proper. Raul is a great man, a great mechanic, a great manager, and you've officially lost a loyal customer with a lot of pull. Raul is/was/has always been, the key to your business model and you've failed to observe that for your own reasons that I simply cannot fathom (I won't pretend to understand the underlying issues that may be infecting this shop...did Raul murder your cat or something? Use your brain, man)..not good.
Raul I wish you the best brother, and to anyone considering this shop this is fair warning...if it's not Raul, it's not legit. Take your car elsewhere if you care about your investment.

Let's start off with the bad stuff - I totally missed the shop when trying to find it, and SF is very unforgiving about trying to go just go around a block. But once I finally got to the shop I was in good hands.
I brought in my 2000 Toyota 4Runner to get my 150k miles inspection done and was expecting the worst. My check engine light was on and the car rattled like crazy when driving above 60mph. Took it to Gunther at All Pro Mechanicx and he said he'd only charge me the cost of an oil change to look at the whole car, which was fine by me as I needed an oil change as well. Turned out my fuel injector was busted, my valve gasket cover was leaking oil, and my tires needed to be balanced.
The shining star was really Gunther as he talked me through exactly what sort of work was involved and what my options where. He recommended doing them both at the same time to save me money as to do the fuel injector (my main problem) they would have to take off the manifold and other fun engine parts and the gasket cover would be right there. Doing one now and one later would just double the cost. Even better, he worked with me on a price and threw in fixing my rear joint and tire balancing for free!
I would definitely recommend this shop for taking care of your car in SF. I called other shops once I knew what the problems were and their quotes where way higher than All Pro's.

As much as I hate bringing my car in for repairs, I love taking it to the guys at All Pro. They are friendly and honest. I usually come with a list of things my dealer said I needed with a huge price tag, the guys at All Pro actually check my car before determining what needs to be done and are often able to knock a few things off the list. They always save me money and don't fix things that aren't broken.

Gunther and his crew did a very good job fixing the transmission on my 2002 Saturn SL. Transmission problems for these cars are very common and they fixed it up for me. Gunther was willing to negotiate on the price for me which was really nice too. Repair only took a week, including waiting for the part to arrive.

The check-engine light in my '97 Ford Crown-victoria burned out. Car can't be smogged without it (& this is my year, sigh).
Dealer originally said $145; then $360; then "maybe more"; would have to do lots of checking; could be *another* $360 if (insert list).
Found ALL PRO via Google and great YELP reviews; Ford **experts** ! I called, and Gunther said 'bring it in' & i did. When I explained i only wanted the bulb replaced, literally nothing else, he quoted $180 based on the time it takes to get at it; had the bulb in stock (!)
When I picked the car up 2 hours later, he had found and replaced 9 dead bulbs !! Dash now far more usable !! No extra charge. Advised me regarding computer codes, smog tests, and more; they did additional tests, and Mike, the owner, contributed even more knowledge. No extra charge.
These guys mean to be helpful, and are.
STRONGLY RECOMMEND.

By far one of the best mechanic shops I have ever been to. As a woman you always feel as though you are being scammed by your mechanic, but that is not the case with this place. I live in the area, and when I came in for an oil change not only did they give me a great price, but they also gave me a discount on my windshield wipers as well. They owner and manager Gunther were so respectful and nice. I recommend this place before any other mechanic shop! Wonderful people, wonderful work, and great deals! This is now my go to place for any work that needs to be done on my car.

Gunther and his crew are angels of mercy as far as I'm concerned. My left front tire was rapidly deflating after I'd run over a bolt-head screw. I got directions to the nearest garage, this one, fortunately less than a half mile away. Though the garage was full with other repair jobs, they immediately removed the bolt and sealed and reinflated the tire and sent me on my way!

Amateurs. They replaced my brakes. My brakes squealed. They had no idea how to fix it and were far less than honest. Rather than continue to deal with them I went somewhere else to have their incompetence repaired. Steer clear.

So after i read all of the reviews that talked about how Gunther was the man. I took my car to this shop after breaking down on the freeway. My car's harmonic balancer had broken off...major problem. So when i took it there i assumed that they would just replace the broken parts and send me on my way. Well, they went the extra mile and inspected the timing belt since the timing belt cover had shown visible damage from the harmonic balancer pulley was rubbing against it. I am so glad they did because they found my timing belt to be in horrible shape... its amazing my car was even still running at all with the timing belt completely shredded up. So after they found that i hadn't fouled my heads up, they replaced the timing belt and the harmonic balancer pulley and all the belts and i got my car back the next day. Very please with their service and i don't plan on taking my car anywhere else. Gunther seemed very honest and they even gave me free advise for other slight issues that i had been having with the car... They were extremely knowledgeable and friendly i would recommend this shop to anyone who wants quality work, honest mechanic, and fair pricing. Please come see for yourself...

I cannot say enough good things about Gunther and rest of the great, great crew at All Pro Mechanicx. Our trusty 1987 Honda Civic died (perhaps we had not monitored the engine oil level closely enough - life is busy) and after 230K miles our car needed a new, used engine (some online research showed us immediately that a new car or even a new, used car was not in the cards). After pricing the job to a half dozen auto mechanic shops all over San Francisco and beyond, All Pro Mechanicx gave us a quote 40% less than the closest competing bid. I met AAA with our car in tow at All Pro in SOMA and meet Gunther who explained in detail all the procedures required to replace the engine and all the connecting components. He stuck to the price he quoted over the telephone, though I could tell he was not expecting a car in such a beat-up state as ours (my wife uses the car for animal rescue work so the car is off road much of the time). Two days after I meet the crew at All Pro, the engine replacement was completed, the car runs beautifully AND at their own expense - All Pro bought and put seat covers over our ravaged upholstery! Something we'd wanted to do for sometime, but now not only is our trusted car running like a top, it even looks good, and all for 40% less than the closest competition. I urge you to check out All Pro with any of your auto repair needs; I know that's where I will be going with our cars from now on. Thank you again All Pro Mechanicx.

Very good service at All Pro. The owner, Mike, is always around the business and oversees all repairs and work. I have been going here for 4 years and he knows my car completely. The last time I went in with a check engine light on in my volvo xc90, he knew exactly what was wrong within minutes and was able to have my car ready with a couple hours. All Pro not only gives great service, but I trust them which is hard to build. I would reccomend All Pro to anyone with auto repair needs.

Awesome shop and customer service!
I live in Fresno and was in the city for a giants game. After the game my car wouldn't go into gear, kept stopping. I finally gave up and started looking for a nearby shop, found this one. Got a tow and waited all night out front until Mike opened. He took my car right in, 30 minutes later knew what the problem was, and i was back on the road by noon.
Mike went above and beyond for us, explained everything and was very reasonably priced. Made it home with no problem. Wish I had a shop like this here in Fresno

Raul is awesome! After my car was broken into, the jerks who stole my radio also messed up the air system. I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong but called All Pro yesterday to get a quote. Raul told me he couldn't tell me the exact price until he looked at my car but that it would be $105 just to check everything out and then if more parts were needed, the cost would go up. I took my car in today and Raul checked it out and within 10 minutes he had fixed the problem - for FREE! His generosity and kindness is much appreciated!
**I lowered my rating only because I found out that Raul cut out wires that I eventually needed to install my new radio.

Raul's pretty damn cool. I've had four different vehicles go through this shop, and never had a complaint on the workmanship, time it took to get the job done, or having issues after-the-fact.
It's tiny in there, but they're busy as all hell. I did read a review online somewhere about one of the owners being involved in some insurance fraud, but this has not deterred my going, or compromised their service.

I discovered All-Pro and Raul when I moved back to San Francisco in 2004. I was driving a Ford Taurus at the time and well it was a lemon. Raul and his team saw me all the time. I never walked away unhappy and they always explained exactly what was going on with my car. When I was getting ready to sell it... I brought it in to have a complete tuneup. When I told Raul I was selling it he did a happy dance for me!
I now drive an Acura. I rarely see the guys at All-Pro but they always remember me when I do come in. I showed up today because my battery died a couple of days ago and when my car was jumped the check engine light came on. I showed up at All-Pro, told Raul what was going on and he had the car checked right away. I explained that money was tight these days, so if I didn't need to do anything that would be best. He said lets see. Well as it ends up nothing was wrong. They charged me NOTHING for the diagnostic and sent me on my way. That is why as long as I live in San Francisco I will continue to use All-Pro!

I first visited All Pro way back in the early 2000's and was always happy with their work and especially their "customer care." Then somewhere along the line I switched to a mechanic closer to home, one I could easily walk to, and lost touch with All Pro.
But recently I returned to All Pro and they performed a miracle. Since 2009 (it's now 2011) I've been having really strange issues with my car. It was probably completely unsafe to drive (e.g. wouldn't accelerate when I was merging onto a highway) and near the end would barely start. My mechanic at that time tried multiple times to fix it and in the end advised that I get a new car. At some point, I also took it to a VW expert and he was reluctant to work on it stating that my transmission was weak. So I ended up tolerating a barely working car for over 2 years.
I was near ready to replace the car when on a whim, I decided to take it to All Pro. Raul actually remembered me from years ago - which was immediately comforting. Again, he engendered in me a sense of peace and trust....that my poor, suffering car was in good hands. A day later - miracle!! The car is as good as new, drives like a normal car should. Yippee! I think it's taking my muscles a while to get used to the fact that when I give the car gas, it actually moves forward - that when I turn the key in the ignition, the car actually starts. I could not be a happier customer!

WHY THIS REVIEW KEEPS BEING PULLED OFF IS CURIOUS.
Hello,
I suggest you DO NOT bring your car here for transmission work. I was charged $170.00 to install a part (labor +part) on my transmission. When it did not solve the problem I brought my car back and then they told me I needed a NEW transmission. I found this hard to believe so I brought my car to Ammco and the Ammco mechanic told me the part was installed incorrectly and charge me $65.00 to fix it.
Ammco also told me his shop usually did All Pro's transmission work and when I told him that they charged me $170.00, he clearly did not approve.
I went back to All Pro to ask for my labor money (approximately $140.00) back since they did the work wrong and incorrectly told me I needed a NEW transmission. I informed them that Ammco fixed the car for $65.00 and my transmission is FINE. No new transmission necessary.
Even though it was clear they did the work wrong, they would not give me back the $140.00 for labor (170.00 total - 30.00 for part = 140.00 labor), instead they only gave me the $65.00 I paid at Ammco. So they kept $80.00 for doing work incorrectly and giving me a bad diagnosis.
I had no problem paying for the part, but they should have given me back the proper amount. I have no problem if someone makes a mistake, but you DO NOT tell a customer their transmission is blown when you do not have the facts.
Maybe they are better at this now, but I have never been back. I was so pissed, I was going to take them to small claims court, but it is not worth my time for $80.00 bucks (140.00 labor -60.00 they paid me = 80.00 still owe). SUPER LAME! I would have given them zero stars, but yelp won't let me.

Long story short, my front passenger window decided not to roll up and I couldn't very well leave it parked in the city like that. I panicked and called my dad, who helped me find a dealership nearby. Well, they did not even have their own service place, but I went to where the guy sent me in SOMA. I ended up in front of a tiny one lane place with no where to pull up to on the curb or to pull into. When I pulled back around and tried calling to ask where to park, I could hear the phone ringing from where I was and guys were standing around and nothing was happening. I was pissed and left.
All of the auto places in SOMA, there was bound to be something near. I saw All Pro after a few minutes and pulled in (wow). Raul helped me right away, explained the situation clearly & did not treat me like a clueless female (that I am). He also said it was great I did not end up at the other place because their labor rates are crazy. He showed me the part I needed on their comp system and what they had to do. Next day, I picked the car up by noon and Raul expressed that he would have washed it, but his guys were at lunch. How sweet! I did not feel so bad about dropping $300 on a window. All Pro is courteous, professional, honest & quick. WHile I hope the circumstance does not permit my return, I wouldn't mind it.

Awesome shop. Mike and Raul are friendly, knowledgeable, get things done and don't rip people off. They know their stuff and make sure I am taken care of. I am an Audi owner and they know that car bumper to bumper. They are there for me when i fly in without an appointment with car trouble, and when i drop the car off for service they get it done and get it done right; and on time. On a side note, gotta love the classic muscle cars they always have in there that collectors have them working on and restoring. I have to stay focused on the task at hand which is my car and stop staring at the Ferrari, or '67 Pontiac GTO.

I first discovered this place in my pre-Yelp days using (dare I say it) Citysearch. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Raul. I had failed a smog check due to a problem with the car's computer (lame) and he got it all sorted out in the same day.
Since I work down on the Peninsula and usually drive my car, this location made it easy to get to work using public transit. I hopped on Muni just a few blocks down and took that to Caltrain which took me down to work.
I hate to say that I didn't shop around for pricing, but I was a bit pressed for time thanks to the bureaucratic agency that is the DMV and this was the most convenient. Mechanic labor was priced around $105/hour and body work was a bit cheaper, something like $85.
All in all this was an excellent experience and I'd recommend this place to anyone. I definitely plan on using these guys in the future if something else ever comes up.

I've been a customer of All Pro Mechancx for a long time. I Love these Guys! Mike(owner) and Raul(who might as well be the owner also because he works the miracles), both are awesome! The entire All Pro Mechanicx team do FINE Work! Treats my car(s) and I like family. They live up to their title(ALL PRO MECHANICS). Mike and especially Raul is who I deal with the most are very honest guys and won't steer you in the wrong direction! Its a beautiful thing when you have a mechanic you can trust and have a relationship with and that I have! I travel from Hayward to SF to see these Mechanics because I have the highest trust in these guys and nobody else!

I often take my Beemer across the bay to a specialist in Berkley. When my car broke down in SF I decided that I need a repair quickly and close by so I didn't have to rent a car. A friend recommended All-Pro and I have to say that they fixed me up fast and under budget. They treated my car with love and respect! This might sound silly because it is just a car but it's kind of like going to a new doctor, you never know what you are going to get. I was sooooooo very pleased with the work All-Pro did (big love to Raul) and it was also awesome that they are open on Saturdays.
I LOVE THESE GUYS! I will definitely take my ride back there next time.

This place is the real deal. Being female and autmobile-illiterate, I stress when it comes to mechanics. I ask everyone I know and then double check. My search led me to All-Pro and I can't be more pleased. Raul is upfront and honest. He clearly knows his stuff and doesn't B.S. Business is obviously good for them so they don't have to nickel and dime you.

there's never a good time to get into a car accident, however, one especially bad time is when you're 3 hours out from leaving for a 2 week vacation in bali.
it was "rush hour" on a friday night (aka the time that all of SOMA turns into a massive cluster of aggressive bay bridge on-rampers) when an impatient commuter ran a red light directly across my path. i proceeded to lose it while my smashed-in car proceeded to spew radiator fluid and smoke from the under the hood. luckily, my much calmer boyfriend proceeded to search google for a nearby mechanic.
we caught raul at 5:59 p.m., just as he was locking up shop to head to a giant's game. apparently he is some sort of saint because he told us he would wait until we could get the car there so he could have a look. upon learning that we were hours away from leaving the country, he told us all we needed to do was file the accident with the insurance company, text him the claim # and go enjoy our vacation - he would take care of the rest.
2 weeks later, the insurance companies had hashed it out, raul had worked with the adjuster, and everything was worked out. although my car had officially kicked the bucket, raul had saved us from what could've been an enormous nightmare.
i obviously can't speak to All Pro Mechanicx' skills in fixing a car since mine was totaled, but i can say that raul is extremely helpful and very trustworthy. i will definitely keep them in mind for the future.

I've been coming to All Pro for years and have always been satisfied with the work they've done on my Jeep. When they recently switched garage managers from Raul to Mike I was little worried that the same level of service wouldn't be kept up.
I recently took my Jeep for basic maintenance and to look into why my engine light came on. Mike and the mechanics identified a busted sensor and also found a fuel hose that needed to be replaced. A few weeks later the engine light came back on. I took it back to Mike. With zero hassle Mike warranted their work and went back and tracked down the lingering problem. While fixing the original problem he noticed a rattle. I had heard it before myself and didn't think much of it. It turns out my I was headed towards a major breakdown. Mike patiently explained everything to me and answered my questions with no BS. His mechanics fixed the problem and my Jeep is running like new. Had they not caught the problem, my bill would have easily been twice as much and 10X the headache to get it fixed after the fact.
My Jeep is 10 years old and has nearly 150k miles, it's been offroading in the Sierra's, got me through Donner Pass when it was -12*f and through Vegas when it was 118*f. Things are going wear out and break but the guys at All Pro keep it running.

This was my 1st visit to All-Pro Mechanicx. I needed a shop to work on my classic Mini Cooper. I was concerned because the car is somewhat unique but Mike had some experience with Minis so I gave him a shot. They did an outstanding job and kept me informed every step of the way. The car was done on time and within budget without any surprises.The work was performed very neatly and the car now runs great. I am thrilled to have a shop I can go to that will do great work and reasonable prices.

I know where to go if I need help in car (well, knock on wood!).
One garage few blocks from them ripped me off with $110 for nothing. As soon as I finally made it to their garage, Mike asked me what's the problem and he opened the car hood right way in front of me. I told him the problem and he explain me what's wrong with the car, then told me what they will do to fix it and the cost.
They fixed my car for few hours with reasonable price.
They explained the problem to me and did not look at me like "Hey..you just A GIRL who knows NOTHING about cars!"

Excellent!
I left my regular mechanic's shop unhappy with the results of my most recent visit. Promised that the shop owner would call me, while I waited for the phone to ring, I decided to shop around. Because of their high ratings here on yelp and citysearch, All Pro Mechanicx caught my attention.
Raul gave me an estimate for a water pump and related parts and labor off the top of his head that was much lower than any other quotes I had received from other reputable mechanics in the city. Then when I brought the car in he remembered all the details of our conversation, including the estimate, which didn't go up as he plugged the numbers into his computer.
Not only did I find faster, more reliable, and more professional service at All Pro, I also saved over 200 dollars--hands down the most reasonably priced mechanic in the city.
I was with my first mechanic for almost nine years, and only left him when I left southern California. I wasn't happy to leave my old mechanic after four loyal years, but now I'm glad I did. All Pro is definitely the one. I'm sure I'll have other cars, but as long as I'm in the city, I won't have another mechanic.

I've been bringing my car to them for about a year now and they've consistently given me great service.
These guys are straight shooters, certainly a rarity in the automotive world. I've brought my car in on several instances and they've told me not to be concerned about certain issues, whereas the dealer wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars to get something fixed because it was "absolutely necessary". They don't charge for really minor things, and give good prices on the things they do charge for. The cost of labor is relatively cheap here. They seem to be on your side when it comes to car repair. All-Pro is also efficient. They get your car out as quickly as possible, and are particularly swift when it comes to acquiring parts they don't have in stock.
My experience with All-Pro has been excellent and I will continue to have my car serviced there.

I just drove over the Bay Bridge and turned down Harrison. And I noticed that the temperature gauge on my 20 year old wondercar was completely maxed out.
I get a good scare: I'm about to fry the engine...the car is through...I'll need to scrape money together for a new one.
So I pull into the first proper garage.
I open the hood. The fan is working. The coolant is good. So they use the laser thermometer device to take the temperature of everything. And a couple of them get all over it, checking and rechecking things. They spend some time with it and conclude that it's not overheating. That the temperature sensor is blown out and that I'll need to get the part from a specialist, or someone who has ancient Saab bits around.
When I ask how much I owe, they wave me off, and say come back if you need some real repairs done.
So these guys seem like they're on the level. But here's the irony...I figure before I post this review I'll do a google search on them. And what shows up? A little run-in with the law. Where they were caught helping a customer run one past State Farm Insurance.

I needed an oil change today and so I went on Yelp and found All Pro Mechanicx and thought I'd give them a try since they are located next to my home and whatnot. (It also helped that they were able to schedule me an appointment for the same day). I dealt with a gentleman by the name of Gunther and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with, the antithesis of most every other mechanic I've ever interacted with. I needed an oil change and I got one for $30 because of a promotion on Yelp but I ended up getting so much more. Gunther not only changed my oil but he also checked the air-pressure of my tires and did a visual brake inspection at no extra charge. He also gave the engine a quick look and confirmed what I already knew, that my 16 year old Saturn was mechanically sound just so long as I kept putting fluids into her. I've had so many negative experiences with mechanics in the past that I feel compelled to acknowledge Gunther and the professionalism and courtesy that he displayed toward me when I visited him. A great experience indeed!

I go to All-Pro Mechanix without hesitation. Raul is the shit, he really knows everything, can do anything and is super easy going. Raul and his team treat all customers like family and always have the "can do- better & cheaper" attitude that keeps people like me coming back for everything auto related. Turnaround is quick and prices are more than reasonable. I never need a second opinion when getting work done here.
As a FEMALE who's been screwed over countlessly by mechanics, I'm happy to say that I've finally found a legitimate auto mechanic in San Francisco who I recommend HIGHLY, to everyone.

I took my 1991 Toyota MR2 to get the clutch replaced and their service was disappointing.
The Bad:
-It took two days when they said it would take one
-Their clutch kit was a lot more expensive than everyone elses when I received estimates from two other shops (And one was for a Toyota OEM clutch which is better)
-Their labor is more expensive than other shops
-They charged me to adjust my idle when my idle was not adjusted at all
(Their reasoning was whatever work we do on your car we have to count it towards labor.) I don't care. If they didn't fix anything, I'm not going to pay for it. And it was their suggestion to adjust it anyways.
-After they were finished replacing my clutch, I came to pick up my car. I was driving home and I realized my temp. gauge was not working. So, they wasted more of my time. (They tried to play it off like it wasn't their fault by saying the sensor connection was bad. Which could have been the case, but it's not like it coincidentally broke as I drove it away from the shop.)
-They supposedly replaced my flywheel also. But I feel no difference. My engine goes through the rev range exactly the same as it did before. I seriously don't think they replaced it.
The Good:
-My engine was running rough and extremely slow because of a faulty fuel injector connection which they fixed for me without charge
-Clutch feels pretty good
Overall:
Don't go there.

My experience with this shop isn't been that great. I took my car to the shop the other day for a new clutch and front brake rotors, pads and rear pads and they did a great job n also in time but when I got my car back there was another sound from the front of the engine which wasn't there before. So I drove it for a day and again took it back to Raul n he mentioned that I need to replace PCV valve for my engine which I did on the same day at Kragen's. That weird sound was still there. So I took the car to the shop again and asked Raul n Mike to look at it. They did and told me that there is another thing that I need to replace. Anyways Other than that I got a quote for a couple of other things n checked the prices for those things online and the prices were way higher than the online prices. Anyways so I am not going to take it to those guyz again probably

I can't speak highly enough about this place. I've never trusted a mechanic shop more. I never feel like they're out for my money, and I truly have ALWAYS had a great experience. Raul is amazing, and always remembers me. The rest of the staff is just as friendly, and they always answer my questions to the fullest (no matter how ignorant my questions may be). I recommend this place to every person I know!!! Their quotes and pricing is also extremely affordable. I'm never shocked or overwhelmed by the estimates I am given. Go there, you won't be sorry!

Wow! Thats all I have to say. Mike and Raul are the best. Took my car to them because someone keyed my car on the passenger side. Like their website states any damage over 2k they waive the deductible.Mike went above and beyound, He even repaired and painted my bumper at no extra cost. I've been a customer of these guys for 5+ years now and applaud their straightforward, honest approach and personalised service. This no nonsense approach and reasonable pricing approach surely pays off with many returning customers.
I've used them both for my regular services and minor snags - they don't discover non-existent problems or charge huge fees for diagnosing simple issues (sometimes the 'quick look' has been gratis). Over the years- A/C system got punctured and needed replacing, battery replaced, check engine light (just needed to replace a piece of hose at no charge), replaced tires, etc.
eg. once my service there revealed worn struts and as that item was covered by the factory warranty, I foolishly took it to back to the (rip-off) Jeep dealer for the replacement. The Jeep dealer told me that minor parts- $350 of their $1500 repair (that ALL-Pro had quoted me $450 inclusive) would not be covered...As they had inspected the vehicle (ie bounced on the hood), not doing the repair with them would incur a $180 diagnosis fee! Wished I'd have paid All- Pro to take care of it in the first place. Lesson learned- I just don't bother with the dealer's warranty inspection/repairs and go straight to Raul for a more honest appraisal!

I had recently bought a used car and had to get it to pass smog. My dad had warned me about all the scams with all of the mechanic shops just "out to get your money." I went with All Pro because of their good ratings on yelp. Raul helped me and made the whole thing painless. I had gone in for a small evap leak and an oil change. I returned the next morning to pick up my car and it turns out they had only fixed the leak and not done the oil change. He would have done the oil change right then and there if I didn't have to be to work soon. So I brought it back the next morning and he did the oil change for free! Very nice and honest people NOT out just trying to get your money! I will be back for all of my future car repair needs.

This is my first official review on Yelp. It took a great experience at All Pro Mechanix to get me to write one. Mike and crew at All Pro have a top notch operation. Honest, skilled and humorous, they are as good as it gets in an industry plagued with people who don't care about you and only your money. I recently got a 1987 Grand Wagoneer that needed some work. I looked on Yelp and found that some of the top rated mechanics around town were not willing to work on this particular car. Absolute Jeep said the Wagoneer was problematic and hard to find parts for refusing to even take a look at it. FAIL!, Absolute Jeep. You have Jeep in your name! Other places said they dont work on old cars. But not Mike. This guy rules and now is the only guy Im going to for auto work. And Ill preach his name to anyone that will listen. They have fair prices and really do a great job. Not only did they fix the problems I was having but they also told me to take it back to another top rated mechanic because some things were done wrong. Did I mention Mike rules? I had drain in my car battery. They suggested I keep the car there overnight so that in the morning we'd be able to find the source of the drain. I don't know if this is actually the right process for such a situation, but let's gloss over that part. In the morning, I called and was told that I should just replace the battery. On the phone, I asked for the cost -- $95 for the battery + $35 for labor. When I arrived he asked for $215... I was "fortunate" enough to have my car randomly break down right in front of this place a couple of years ago. Raul is friendly, extremely considerate, and quick! I have had radiator hoses replaced by him, an alternator, and now a fuel pump. He always seems genuinely concerned with how I will get to work without my car (I work in East Oakland) and always manages to get my car back to me within one to two days in perfect running condition. At this point, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else!
