I bought a lemon! Usually when you say that you want to get rid of it as fast as possible. I truly bought a car that needed more work than you can imagine. From the first month I had it needed major repairs, since I just paid for it in cash I was short on funds.
I thought I can't get rid of it because it's in such bad shape but I can't drive it either so I started to search for the ideal mechanic to do all the work I found many mechanics that would do the work with high prices and I debated just getting rid of this car even though I would lose what I put into it.
Then I found Ed and Ed and now I won't give up my car.
Edwin is my go to man for all of my repairs. He makes my car run like it's new. And if I need a little extra work done he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. Their prices are very fair all work is done professionally. So if you have car troubles this is the place to go. Make sure you tell them Sueanne sent you.

First off, this is a great location for an auto repair shop, I used to live in the valley in the past and have been going to some shitty repair shops in the Van Nuys, North Hollywood areas.
I've been been coming to this shop since 2010 and met the owner ED JR. He is truly a great guy. In addition he knows exactly what he's talking about and offers great help and most importantly gets the job done on time.
I actually called the shop prior to one week to see if he can get me a new clutch for my Acura Rsx, he gave me several options and quoted me a great price, and also told him change my oil and transmission fluid as well. He told me it would take a him a couple hours but promised me it would be done on time. The outcome of the work was great I left that shop feeling happy with the price I paid.
Overall I think this a great shop to get your car fixed, great prices also does body & paint work. His shop does get busy so I recommend calling him and setting appointment.
P.S. I referred him to my family & friends and all of them say he does good work with the best prices.

QUALITY YOU CAN TRUST PEOPLE YOU CAN TRUST
All i have to say is that hooking up with Ed, son of Ed (hahaha) has been a blessing sent from above. All my life my family has been screwed left and right by wack mechanics. As for me...? Nope! Not since I've been coming out here. I've NEVER had customer service like this EVER. Typically after coming from the dealer after having something fixed...I already feel something else is wrong! NOT WITH ED & ED! I'm serious man...Ed is an honest guy you can trust...and that is rare in every business.
This dude may look young but he has better skills than any mechanic I have worked with. He is so accomodating too. I ahave already recommended my brother and my uncle to Ed and they have NO complaints.
If you want a really good mechanic with no gimmicks and straight to the point who will tell you like it is and won't try to takeadvantage of you, go here. You won't be sorry. Trust me.
Not sure why there are two wack reviews but some people just hate to hate. All I know is that this joint is great! So I congratulate...go now and don't wait.
Ed if you read this...you're the Man bro!
P.S. Breakfast Burritos a 1/2 block away at The Corner Cottage...THE BOMB!!

Ok so I have been coming here for years. Ever since I was 18. I am 25 now. So first with the good. Very nice and does a good job for very good prices.
Now the bad. Very unprofessional. Very disorganized. So for the past 7 years I came here and every time I talk to him he asks for my number again. He doesn't have any records. He never calls you back and sometimes doesn't pick up the phone when you call.
I left my car with him in early March and did not get it back til May. He kept delaying and making excuses for not getting it done. Don't come here unless you're desperate.

I think the "Ed's" do good work. They're honest and have good prices. I've managed to have my car serviced in 24 hours without any hiccups. I just got a new fuel pump put on my car and Ed jr. worked around my schedule. I'll keep going here over and over again!

Rude owner (The Ed Sr), the son, (Ed Jr) will give you the runaround..."It will be ready by 3". Oh, he meant by 3 days. Yes, that's how he works. If you are in a hurry and want a quick, clean work, look elsewhere.
These people are very unprofessional. Will NEVER recommend. I've learned my lesson the hard way.
"Get's the job done on time".... yeah right. Too bad MOST of their customers are not computer savvy.

I was new the LA area and had to buy a car to get to and from work. I was naive and bought a car from a guy Chris who sells Honda accords. Needing a car quickly I trusted Chris was selling quality cars. I bought an older accord from him and that was my biggest mistake.
After a week of driving my new car I immediately knew a few things were wrong and needed to get it looked at. I heard about Edwin and his father at Ed & Ed Auto from a friend and decided to take my accord there because my friend said they were honest and didn't rip people off.
Back home my father is a mechanic and I was really leery about trusted a new mechanic to work on any car of mine. Being thousands of miles from home I had no choice but to trust Edwin with my new used car.
The first time I took it into Edwin I had him replace all the brakes, replace front window motor, replace all belts, pulleys and water pump. the price was fair for all the work he did.
A week or two later my accord overheated an I took it back to Edwin to see if he could find out what was wrong. He immediately found a small hole in my radiator, showed me the hole and I asked him to replace the radiator. He only charged me $125 for that service. He did tell me that if the car overheated again to immediately shut it down or i could cause further damage to the head.
A few weeks later I let a friend borrow my car for a few hours and he let it overheat, didn't shut it down immediately and the car was dead in the water on the Santa Monica Pier. This was a Friday evening and I had nowhere to tow the car so I called Edwin and asked if he could help. He was very gracious and let me have my car towed to his shop and even met the tow driver at the shop to accept it, as I was working and could not accompany the tow driver. After looking at the head he sent it to a machinist to grind it down in hopes that I wouldn't have to get a new one altogether. He was able to save the head and Edwin was able to get my car running smoothly again, after replacing a leaking water hose, for under a thousand dollars.
Overall, this car has been a nightmare for me (Don't ever buy a car from a guy named "Chris" or his girlfriend as they will surely rip you off). But Edwin has been my saving grace throughout this ordeal as he always helped me get my car running again and for a fair price. My car my not have always been done on time but it was a non-issue for me as I never needed it right away. If you ever need a trust worthy honest mechanic in the Valley I would recommend Edwin and his father at Ed & Ed Auto.

Just got done at the Subaru dealership yesterday after Ed & Ed had been working on my car for the past two weeks. They advised me not to drive it home and said the car should have never left the shop like that. Contrary to any 5 star review here I am writing this to state the truth about this horrible shop. Ed jr. got in contact with me and after reading the reviews here I decided to go with the shop, which was the worst mistake I have ever made.
I have good friends who are mechanics and I myself know a lot about my car, which helped me to deal with these idiots. First they lied to me by telling me they were going to pick up my transmission, and later the other business owner finally admitted all the lies Ed Sr. was telling him to tell me. Not only did it take longer to get the transmission because they lied to say they were picking it up (they never went but told me they drove to San Diego and the transmission was still in the car which was another lie). I ended up paying to have it delivered. After they delivered it Ed Jr. got the wrong clutch kit for my car even though I have told him the model. Next they told me the transmission was bad and I needed a new one. I called the shop in San Diego who told me that Ed Sr. was lying to me and to drive up there to see the car myself. I rented a car and drove up there. They had told me the night before they stayed late to work on my car and take the transmission off so they could swap it quickly in the morning. When I got there the transmission was still on my car. They also admitted to the shop owner in San Diego they used a lighter transmission fluid than 75w 90, causing second gear to be tough to shift into. Again they made a huge (amateur) mistake and tried to lie about what had happened.
After almost two weeks I got my car back when the work should have taken 2 full days tops because all the work was fairly minor. They also forgot to put another exhaust bolt on my headers and left a bolt missing from my transmission mount, which was noted by Subaru as being highly unacceptable. The new drive axel they installed on my car broke a seal and had thrown grease all over my wheel well and brake caliper causing a very unsafe condition for the car to drive. Subaru told me they would have never let the car leave the shop in the condition they handed it over to me in.
Ed Sr. admitted that he was holding my car because I had openly questioned their ethics and procedures as to why it was taking so long. I have never been to a shop where not only the owner would lie, but he would go as far as to ask another honest business owner to lie to me as well. Luckily the business owner saw Ed & Ed for what they are, a bunch of low-life crooks who steal hard earned money from their customers, and put a stop to their manipulation.
In addition there are a TON of new scratches all over my car and the inside was never protected so grease is all over the carpet. The shop is extremely dirty and unorganized.
But don't take it from me.... here is the email the other business owner sent that should sum up this shop. If you are new to the area and rely on misleading reviews on here, please read the two other brave people who rated this shop correctly and STAY FAR AWAY.
Email:
The Buyer and his mechanic called our shop asking for a transmission. The buyer's mechanic called after 2 days, asking my sales person to specifically lie and say "if the customer calls, tell him that I am at your shop buying the transmission", which is incorrect because the mechanic never stopped by. After a couple of days, The Buyer called us and asked to pay for the transmission and its delivery so it can be delivered to Los Angeles. We delivered the transmission on January 11th, 2013. The Buyer accepted the deal to deliver and we did as planned. On January 15th, 2013, The Buyer called our salesman saying that his mechanic informed him that there is an issue with the transmission, that shifting to the second gear is difficult. The next morning, I spoke to The Buyer's mechanic, and I was asking about the issue with the transmission since I got news from The Buyer that there was a problem with it. The mechanic informed me that they had put in the wrong type of oil in the transmission, and that they changed the oil to the right type and the transmission began to work normally and that we did not need to send another transmission over. The mechanic asked us once again to lie to The Buyer if he were to call us again and tell him that "we are sending over another transmission", when in fact we were not since the mechanic had informed us the transmission we sent over was perfectly fine. I called The Buyer and informed him of the whole situation, about how the mechanic wanted us to lie to him. I also informed The Buyer that we will not be taking the transmission back since we are 100% sure the transmission was perfectly fine when we sold it, and The Buyer's mechanic informed us that it works.

All the bad reviews on here are totally correct. The one star is only because I can tell that Ed Jr.would like to run the place better. I feel sorry for him because he is stuck with his lying, disorganized, dad, with the bad temper. The good reviews on here must be planted or they just had a stroke of good luck!
Like all the other bad reviews on here, I had some work done and Ed Sr(the liar) kept my car for 2 months! He had excuse after excuse. After that, it wasn't even fixed right. On top of that screws were left off of places that they were supposed to go. When you challenge Ed Sr.on his excuses and lies, then he lashes out at you and hangs up in your face.
After reading the other reviews, my car details are unecessary. Basically you are dealing with an unprofessional place. There are no call backs to let you know what the deal is with your car. He always lies about when it will be done. So if you are in a hurry, please, please don't go here! You will be screwed. He screws people like that so much that it doesn't mean anything to him if you say, " I have a flight in two days and I have to have my car by then to get to the airport!" He will tell you don't worry it will be ready, then your car will sit for those two days without anything being done to it. Then he will pull one of his well rehersed lies out of his bag and give it to you. Your problem doesn't matter. It goes in one ear and out the other, because this guy isn't even listening. Half the time they don't even answer the phone.
See, if he would tell the truth, and say," I have a lot of cars here and there is only me and my son working on cars, so it will take at least a week to fix your car." At least then a person could make other plans, or have options.
You have been forewarned several times by different people in this posting area, so go there at your own risk. You will have no one to blame but yourself if you have the same experience.

Only gave one star because you can't give no stars. DON'T GO HERE!!!! Ed is a friend of my father - BUT he still owes us $1200 for a bad transmission job (or as the mechanic who fixed it said, NO transmission job). Long story and long history but we quit taking our vehicles there a couple years ago because nothing gets fixed. The junk car that he kept fixing for my father finally died and he sold it to Edwin for $100 (probably just added that to the rest of the money he's loaned him) and mysteriously, the handicapped placard is missing. He is very friendly, but don't let him fool you.

Best mechanic in Burbank. My starter went out on my car and Ed did a great job helping me out. Gave me a fair price and got me on the road in no time. Thanks Ed.
