GO HERE. STOP SHOPPING AROUND. QUALITY WORK AT DECENT PRICING. I TRUST THEM.
I called around looking for quotes on installing new rotors and this place seemed to be the cheapest with the best quality from Yelp. So I decided to swing by obviously. You can't miss this place. They have a huge welcoming billboard of a sign right off Cherry and 10th. Upon arriving there I was welcomed by the owner's son, Kaya. Told me where to park and helped me get started on replacing my rotors. They took me in immediately. My car was in the air in less than 5 minutes. Kaya is still learning, but he can do almost everything from the looks of it. He owns a Ford truck on air, and a S14 that'll be a drift missile. The owner, Marlon, is super friendly and nice. You could mistake the two guys as brothers! They got me a great price and were very helpful on explaining how it works along with what the outcomes could be, and how to proceed from there. While doing my brakes, I realized I only had half of the rotors that I needed and with my car in the air with the wheels off.. Kaya was super helpful in taking me home to grab the other half of my rotors and back. I really appreciated that! They're a super super nice family that does honest work. He even tried to help me get cheaper brand new tires than discount tires. They do it all here. From basic oil changes, all the way to welding chassis, turbo installs, custom piping, custom air suspension, you name it. Marlon was featured on the front cover of a magazine so he definitely stands by his work. So far, I trust them with my car. Now it's just for the test of time.
All in all, come here. 100% recommended. Skip the bullshit at all the other sketchy places that'll give you the cold shoulder after you pay them a buttload for their shitty work that falls apart. Maybe it won't fall apart if you're lucky, but you still gave up an arm and a leg. Marlon told me himself, he stands behind his work. That's all an auto shop has, their quality of work. I'll be back for more work on more than just my car! Thank you so much Marlon, Kaya, and the Filipino looking guy with the glasses.

my car was driving wonky so I took my car in and Marlon noticed immediately I needed new tires. I knew the tread was low but they actually had a bubble in 2 tires. they ordered a set of tires and the next day my car was back on the road. Marlon and Victor and all staff greeted me right away and very nice and made sure my work was completed before i drove off. I will definitely be bringing my car here in the future for any other needs. Bonus is i live right around the corner!

Had my boyfriend take our Honda Civic si in, to get it dropped. They did a really good job for a good price too. I'm really happy with my car! I bought my own suspension kit for them to use, I bought a D2 suspension kit.
I've spoken to the owner a while back before. He has a very trusting personality. I went to other car shops and I didn't feel comfortable leaving our car with other people. But I felt completely comfortable w/ Marlon.

Having just moved from the East coast and being new to Long Beach, I was worried about finding a decent place to take my Corolla without getting nickled and dimed by corporate hounds. Trust me when I tell you that this place IS THE SPOT to get your car looked at. I was helped by Victor and his boss Marlon. Super friendly, super informative, and super awesome service all around. They gave me an oil change and noted that my brakes had been jacked up by all the salt in Massachusetts. They didn't push me to buy anything or force any service. Honesty and professionalism encompass the overall atmosphere of this shop. Go here and save yourself the headache. You wont regret it!

Really fast service! I didn't think they would actually get the parts my car needed and repaired within the 2 hours I was quoted. But it was done on time and with a reasonable price. The owners son was very nice and knowledgeable about cars even when the best I could do was strangely explain what was wrong and he figured it out. They didn't "recommend" a lot of extra services either which I appreciated. I would definitely come again!

I have changed my 4 tires, battery, brakes and change oil in this place. To find out that I have been driving for two days without my oil cap. The engine oil been splashing all over. Engine light was on that's how I found out. I had to buy engine oil and new cap. I went here to hopefully have my car well maintained and this happened. -However they compensated the damage and took care of this issue right away I am still giving them the 5 stars they deserved.

I took my suv in for some wheel sounds and the owner was honest about the non-urgency of the situation, explaining it will eventually need to be addressed but with the holidays approaching, if I wanted to wait a couple months it would be fine. Which I decided to do and plan to go back as soon as I return from vacation.
Then I asked them - after the free diagnostic - to change my oil, and they first looked at the oil then said "No, it doesn't need to be changed, its still new looking." Who says that! According to my Jiffy Lube sticker it needed to be replaced a couple thousand miles ago.
These guys are so honest and reliable, it's shocking. I'll be going to them for EVERYTHING from now on!

First off, this is a great little spot, located on the corner of 10th and Cherry. Its convenient and fast.
I came to City garage for a few reasons. I believe that the independent shop owners take more pride in their work than larger comercial business, and because they care about the brand recognition with their guests. The second is that the yelps reviews were all amazing.
I went with the intention of having my brakes worked on, when I arrived i was greeted by the owner Marlon, he was very polite and professional. He and his team were able to get my car in, and on the racks and with in minutes. With in less than 5 min, Marlon had diagnosed my brake problem and gave me a qoute.
I was in his shop less than hour and he had changed my entire front brakes. This was a great experience and i will definitely be back. If your in need of service make sure you stop by.

Marlin met me the minute I arrived on Monday at 1pm with no prior appt was extremely friendly and knowlegable about what the car needs were, and at no point tried to up sell me. I was in and out in under 30min having an oil change and tire rotation at 5000 miles I paid much less then other places quoted. I'm over the moon with every part of my first time visit to City Garage. I look forward to a long future here and will tell everyone I know to come here as well. I was also impressed with the waiting area it was very clean and comfortable the have the kewlest toilet seat lid btw it's a must see haha. I met Marions son who works here and hung out with his adorable little girl who entertained me in the waiting room, super cute. Nice family atmosphere. I wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars :)

Found this place over a year ago, I was in need of an oil change and didn't know where to go since moving back to Long Beach. I looked up places on Google and they had a lot of positive reviews so I decided to check them out, I haven't been disappointed since. Marlon and his entire team of guys are honest, hard working and do their best to get you in and out. I found this place on yelp and I couldn't be any more satisfied with the work Marlon and his team did on my 2008 Honda Accord. I called all over to price match on installing my clutch. He was by far the best price and the best customer service . He took car of me and my brother. His theory is simple , charge cheap and do a great job, customer will appreciate and will always come back.

Called for pricing to get my fenders rolled and was told it was cost 70$. Then when I went in they said the job cost 90$ after they rolled my fenders just because they were a "little" busy. If you're too busy then maybe you shouldn't take a job. Would not recommend unless you want to be robbed on the spot. First time here and my last time.

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile but got busy. But i'm making sure to write it because this place was such a blessing!! Marlon was so kind, his people skills on the phone and in person were phenomenal. My alternator went out over the weekend on my Mustang and Monday morning I called a lot of places for price quotes and repair times. City Garage had the best prices and they got me in and out in an hour!! I didn't even have to miss class! Every single worker was friendly and upfront with me. I appreciate them so much. Being a young woman, a lot of auto mechanics assume you don't know anything about cars and will try to play you and overcharge you. Not these guys! I usually go to Pep Boys to get my oil changed, but always had to wait until I got a coupon so it wouldn't be so expensive. I just moved to the area and really needed an oil change. I found the guys at City Garage and I never want to go to another chain store again for my oil change. They were really nice and helpful (especially since I was clueless about car stuff) and my oil change was cheaper than going to Pep Boys. They also had me in and out of there in half the time they said it would take, which I'm ecstatic about because it would usually take me 2 hours elsewhere.

I went in because my check engine light was on. They helped me right away. I told them about the problem I had been having, and one of the guys told me what could possibly be wrong, but they wouldn't know for sure until they popped the hood. I ended up needing a few things done. The pricing was fair, and they gave me a heads up on what my car would possibly need in the future. My car was done within 2 hours. City Garage has friendly, well-priced, and quick service. I'm always concerned that mechanics will take advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars and try to charge me for unnecessary things, but that definitely was not the case for this place. I'm glad I found them on yelp, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I have a 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman that began misfiring. I looked at the reviews for City Garage and immediately determined that I wanted to go try these guys out. I called and talked to Marlon and he told me to bring it in and he would look at it no charge. I took it in, he diagnosed the problem and for about 1/2 of what it would have cost me to get it fixed at the dealership, I was out the door in about an hour.

Best Mechanic Period.
I've gone through a few mechanics and stopped going to the dealership a while back when everytime I went the bill was always $500+.
I went to Marlon and the guys at City Garage after seeing the great reviews on Yelp and wasn't disappointed. I have a 2011 Mini Cooper with some brake pad issues. Marlon was the first person to have my car raised and to actually show me the brake pads and rotors on my car so I knew exactly what they were working on. They had me rolling out the door in no time and almost half what the dealership would have charged me for the same job.
They finished everything in no time and they're got my business for life. I'm a Long Beach local but I would recommend anyone to make the trip to get their car worked on here.

I will not take my car to another over priced hack shop again - City Garage is the BEST!! I shopped around for the price of an oil change and 2 bulb replacements - I have a Mercedes C320, and everyone wanted to charge me over $150 for the oil change and up to $45 per light (front and rear) - to change a bulb!
When I called City Garage, I spoke with the owner, Marlon, who explained everything to me and gave me a great estimate. He was so gracious and kind on the phone - patiently answering all my questions and discussing the needs of my vehicle. A few weeks later I popped in - the place is really small, but they get it on, and its CLEAN - yep, clean and doesn't smell like nasty grease and oil.
I dropped Sadie and came back a few hours later - she was ready to go. I paid my bill and drove off. Then I thought, "hang on - that can't be right." I actually called him back to make sure he didn't undercharge me. He did not - his prices are just that awesome. What the hell, an honest and reasonable auto shop - absolutely unheard of until now.

Brought in my '04 Chevy Tahoe last week on Thursday, 03/05/15. I knew my Tahoe was jacked up because it was making noises and tbh, I didn't take care of it like I was supposed to. Took it in that same day to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change and they told us that the oil was milky looking and that meant something about the head gasket. Sorry I don't know about cars. Lol! But, that just sounded expensive.
But the guy from Jiffy Lube told us about City Garage so we took it in right after.
2 words to sum up City Garage just off the bat.... TRUSTWORTHY!!!! Not once did Marlin haggle us about anything. He told us what possibly could be the problem and told us worst case scenario. Told us to let him check it out and we did. Called us later and told us what was up, what we should do, and gave us our options.
To bring this story to an end, we just picked it up today, which was a day earlier than what we were told, and it is running like new.
Annnnnnnd just to kinda get a ballpark of what we were thinking we were gonna spend, I did a lot of research online and calling around to numerous dealerships. Let's just say we saved THOUSANDS with the labor alone!!!!
We are definitely bring our cars here for service. They do oil changes for $23 and do custom work too!!!
(In no way do we know the employees of City Garage personally. We were referred to them from the garage manager at jiffy lube in Long Beach. From experience, you always find the best people through word of mouth!!! Marlin and his guys know what they're talking about and know what they're doing!!!)

I came upon this spot because my friend had previously had an issue with her car and she knew the owner of the business through a mutual friendship. My boyfriend's car stopped in the middle of an intersection after getting off from work. We weren't able to start the car. We called AAA and took him home. There's was no repair shop open so we were trying to figure out where to go. I simply went on social media and there u saw my beautiful friend Diana April. I was like omg, her and her husband own a shop. So I messaged her, telling her my sob story and she told me to bring his car in the morning. When we got to the shop Marlon and his son welcomed us with warm smiles. Marlon then asked us what happen, we told him the story and he then told us he will get on it and give us a free consultation. He later called us and inform us that it was our distribution wiring and all that auto talk. He gave us a price and we proceed. A couple of hours later he called us again and inform us that our car is ready. My overall experience here was delightful. They knew what they were doing and kept it simple for me to understand. They showed that they cared and made sure they deliver up to our expectations. I would recommend everyone who needs a good mechanic to go to City Garage. They know what their doing and prices is reasonable.

I brought in my 99 civic because the tranny mount broke. I wasn't able to drive it to Long Beach so I had to tow it there with a car Dolly. I got there around 2:45 pm and they had other cars that they were working on. I believe they close at 5 pm but they went a little over that to finish up my car. I forgot the name of the person who personally welded my mount back into place, but he did a pretty solid job. Marlon is a cool guy. We talked a bit about his "project" car.
For what its worth, I live in Anaheim (like 14 miles away from LBC) and I towed my car to this shop instead of going somewhere local. I've seen their work so I trusted them with this job. I would have given them 5 stars, but the job cost a little more than I thought it would. They did a great job overall!

Nothing but great things to say about Marlon and the guys at City Garage. We took my wife's 06 mini cooper s to get new front rotors and ceramic pads. 1st off, mini dealer of long beach quoted us close to 800 for the fronts with labor and everything. Of course we all know dealer is way overpriced. I purchased some drilled/slotted rotors and pads online, and out of the 10 local places I called, Marlon and his team installed them for the lowest price actually beating some of the other places by 100 bucks. Highly recommend these guys!

This was the third shop we visited on Saturday morning - most didn't have an electrical guy there over the weekend to diagnose. City Garage showed us the parts we needed & sent us to VW parts - then brought to them to install. They were done in 90 minutes - our total out of pocket was about $500, with $400 in factory parts. The first shop to quote us was over $1,000 which sent us to the Yelp listings. This shop is new and has top ratings but not as many as other, more established places. Marlon is one of the owners - they are keen to be successful and provide quick, good and affordable service - with our car issue they were terrific.

Came in for and cheap oil change 20.00. They where about to close. As i back up a bolt fell off my car ... Didnt know what was going on Marlin said the tire about to come off ... Marlin checked it out and said a very import bolt came off he fixed that for me without charge. they told me what was wrong explain to me what has to be done and the best way to do it. Nice kind and friendly staff .. A must go if in needed of repairs would give more stars if i could.. Ask for Marlin he the best.

My husband and I just moved to long beach and were looking for a place to get an oil change. We just so happen to pass by city garage and thought, "why not?" Boy was it our lucky day! This place is awesome!!! Not only did they change our oil but were able to identify this horrible load sound that was coming from our back tire. (Something that a previous mechanic did not do and insisted it was our tires) turned out it was my bearings. Marlon was friendly, knowledgeable and Gave us a great price! We will definitely be back here again.

I drive by this place all the time on the way to and from work. I came in one day to get an oil change because of their 19.99 summer special. My car was serviced immediately and I was out in about 30 mins. Marlon and his team over here were very nice and approachable. While servicing my car Marlon spotted a few issues that Id have to address in the near future (break pads change). He didn't sound like he was pressuring me to spend more money, which was awesome for once. Also, they rotated my tires for me. I'll be back to get more work done on my car from these guys.

I went to City Garage a few weeks ago to get an oil change. Without asking they checked my tires and brakes and suggested I change a few things. I came in today to get four new tires and my brakes changed. They did a great job; my car drives like new!! Marlon was very friendly and professional. Gave me great rates! I absolutely LOVE the QUALITY of service that I received at City Garage! I will admit that I had run my poor car into what felt like the ground but after one visit with City Garage, I felt like my baby "car" would run like new again & I am glad to report it does. Before working on my car they did a walk around with me to show me every issues that required work & then told me what I should do right away and the other issues that can wait if it's not within my budget. I really appreciate the customer services provided by Marlon & his awesome team. I high recommend these guys!!!!

We frequent Long Beach annually for car shows and festivals. On our way down from San Francisco my car started burning through my light weight oil, so I had to switch to a heavier oil before my trek back. Our other vehicle had the dirtiest black oil you can think of. Being I'm not from this area I turned to yelp for help. I called in advance to make sure there was no wait and then took my cars in. The prices are reasonable and they do great work. Without asking they even added air to my tires and checked my fluids. The guys here are very nice and knowledgeable. They work on everything from customs to everyday maintenance. I would definitely return to this shop if I'm stuck on a mechanical bind while I'm in Long Beach.

Came in here today wt a clutch cable issue. Within minutes the mechanic Mr.Hong had me on my way. Took my jeep to several other shops in the area and felt the price gouge ! Marlin was very helpful in getting me back on the road. Solid shop, great work & excellent customer care. I've lived in this neighborhood for decades and am very glad to see quality shops like the "City Garage" guys here.

I needed my car serviced so I asked my friend if she can recommend an honest and good auto repair shop. She highly recommended the City Garage on the corner of 10th and Cherry in Long Beach. They do everything from mechanical repairs, tires, and they even customize cars and trucks. I was very satisfied with the City Garage. Marlon had excellent customer service. He didn't try to hike up the list of repairs and they completed the job in less time than I expected. The price was right and my car runs great! Thanks to the City Garage! Just got my car back from City Garage and I was Super Happy with the impressive welding they did on my car, they reinforced it with steel and some gussets to help with more support on my engine mount.
