Can't say enough about this shop. I feel confident every time I bring my RX-8 to Yoshi, that it will be diagnosed properly and fixed promptly. Yes the labor is a little more expensive but it is worth every penny for piece of mind. On top of that I always find that Yoshi goes far beyond the requirements of the repair or service I need. A couple months ago he spent tons of time cleaning the entire chassis and undercarriage before putting on a new plastic under tray and installing some other parts. Other mechanics wouldn't go to this length. He also repaired a front lip without me ever asking. Same thing goes for a recent repair he did, he fixed audio equipment and secured a loose aero part. I'll always bring my rotary to him. He's also an incredibly nice guy.

Back again to get the oil changed in the truck. The guys were fast, clean, and thorough. I wanted to put a higher grade oil in since the truck is 11 years old, but I was told it would be expensive and that it wasn't necessary since the mileage on the truck is so low and the engine is in very good condition.
Saved me $15. :)
Honest. Friendly. Quality work. I REALLY wish they worked on bikes. Haha.

Honesty, honesty, and honesty. Brought my Mazda 3 in for check engine light came on. Mr. Kawasaki did a throughout check and stated nothing wrong with the engine. He cleared the code. Check engine have not appears since.....wooohoooo. The front desk customer rep is polite and friendly. The shop is clean, and well organized. And thank you again Neptune Speed. I sure will come back for all my other cars services there in the near future.

Trying to find an honest mechanic or shop seemed like trying to find a leprechaun or a unicorn but they do exist and Neptune Speed IS THAT SHOP! They are very honest. They don't try and up-sell you on some bogus stuff.

I've been coming to Neptune a couple years now and in my experience, it's rare to find a shop where I have so much trust in the mechanics. They are all nice, respectful, and knowledgeable, but I have generally just dealt with David and Yohei, who are both fantastic. Don't let their age fool you, they know their stuff. They have done great work on my Camry these past few years. I think their prices are fairly reasonable, especially for any major mechanical work or tune ups, their prices have beaten the Toyote dealer's time and again.

Master Yoshi knows how to spin your rotors and turbos.
Some say he charges too much. I say you get what you pay for even if he really does charge a lot.
He's done racing before. I've raced my car throughout the years. He's definitely one of the very few mechanics I could fully trust at the track.

This guy is amazing. I have a Mazda rx-8 and it has given me so much trouble. When it was under warranty I would take it to the Hb Mazda dealership and it seemed like it would be there at least once a month. Since warranty has run out I've taken my car here 2 in the past 2 years and never had any trouble with the quality or price of the work.
Great shop, not that expensive and quality work. I can not state how much I appreciate this shop.

This was the best and most pleasant Autoshop experience of my life.
I found Neptune Speed on Yelp out of necessity by being screwed over by another mechanic. I was so beyond frustrated and disenchanted with mechanics. The previous mechanic and charged me $1200 when they had quoted me $500 and broke more of my car including the part that I had paid for them to fix. I had never actually used Yelp before but desperate times call for desperate measures. Neptune Speed seemed to have the highest reviews within my area so I figured I'd give them a shot.
Once I called them I realized that they specialize in much nicer performance cars than my average PT cruiser and that they were booked practically a month in advance. Despite not being the type of cars they prefer they kindly obliged me.
We scheduled an appointment and I brought my car to them. They quickly identified the problem and were extremely pleasant and professional to talk with. Still being weary of mechanics after my horrible experience I expressed my dissatisfaction with the previous mechanic.
They fixed my car extremely quickly and even walked me through where and physically how the other mechanic had broken my car. Including giving me the parts I had paid the last mechanic to replace which I had to pay Neptune to re-replace.
On a personal level. These guys are just good men. I ran into one of them almost a year later randomly at the post office and he approached me, remembered me by name and the exact make, color, and problem with my blue PR cruiser. This alone would be reason enough for me to go back.
On a professional level. It's been a year and a half and what they fixed has not acted up ONCE! For more details about what was wrong with my car read my negative 1star review of "Ervin Auto"
I STRONGLY recommend Neptune Auto again anytime and I plan on going in soon to get my car checked by them again!!!!

I like these guys a lot!
I was worried when my brakes started making a weird, screechy sound. I brought my car to Neptune Speed without an appointment, and even though they were busy, one of the guys took a little time to check my brakes out. 5 minutes later he came back and reassured me that they were fine for at least another 10,000 miles and that the sound was probably due to some harmless dust. They didn't charge me a penny. I think a lot of other mechanics would've taken advantage of my concern and urged me to buy new brake pads on the spot. Needless to say when I actually need new brake pads, I'll be going to these guys. Thanks!

David was extremely friendly and accommodating. I scheduled a Saturday appointment a month in advance for new F/R pads on my S2000. A few days before the appointment, I found a great deal on a Mugen header and asked him if he could fit it in the same time slot. He said NO PROBLEM! I also asked if he could install a 4-point front strut bar and rear lower tie bar. I dropped off the car first thing Saturday morning and (a little nervous) handed over the keys to my pristine low mileage S2000. I got a call later in the afternoon from David telling me that the header and brakes were almost done, but he could not fit in the install of the bars. No problem. I came by to pick up the car and after paying, was on my way.
It's so difficult to find a shop that you trust, mechanics that are just honest down-to-earth, yet knowledgeable and capable of the job, but this IS THE shop. I would not trust anyone else, aside from myself, with my 2000 S2000 with 30k miles on the clock - all OEM aside from the Mugen header.
Highly recommended shop. Did I mention they were honest?

The painful experiences of taking my car to a mechanic are finally over! I have never seen an organized and honest auto shop like Neptune.
I took my Toyota Prius there for a 60mile regular check up and they charged me a very fair amount, did a great job.
Second time my boyfriend took a car there for inspection as we wanted to buy it from craigslist and get an inspection beforehand. He was very helpful and thorough and initially he quoted $20 for the whole 30 minutes inspection. At the end he didn't charge us anything, because we ended up not buying the car.
I want to give a big shout out for this place and a thumbs up for their customer service.

My original review of this place was 1 star. I wasn't happy about my car's performance after bringing it in for a routine 100,000 mile maintenance. When I took the car home I discovered a cylinder misfire that was brand new. I was furious that they would let me drive off the lot like that. I called David and left a voicemail about my car's issues. This is where I started getting heart palpitations, because good, honest mechanics are so hard to find, and I had yet to actually stumble across one in my 18 years of driving. Admittedly, I was happy with the original price to do the work, as I had the same service done on my previous vehicle about 10 years ago, and it cost twice as much when I took that one to the dealership, so Neptune Speed's prices are absolutely competitive... but at what ultimate cost? They were saying it could be the ignition coil, but these problems didn't exist prior to the maintenance, so I was thinking this was the beginning of several costly repairs.
They were frantic about the situation. I don't know if it was my tone or their dedication to the trade, but they insisted I bring it back in as soon as possible so they could fix it. Well, again, is this where the billing machine actually starts? Simply put: no. They spent the day swapping out the engine coils and testing a number of other possible issues, but ultimately found that the new spark plugs provided by Ford were defective. They swapped them out under their purchase warranty, and put my car in front of me good as new that afternoon. The best part? I wasn't charged one additional cent. They felt terrible about the problem that occurred, and I saw as others have previously posted, that they care about their customers and the cars that are brought in.
Adversity is how true character is revealed, and they faced many challenges with my car that were related to issues created by Ford. They handled everything with grace and poise, and they have earned a customer for life.

I'll admit that having a vagina comes in VERY handy sometimes... (You ladies know what I mean!!!) People yield for us in a busy intersection, offer to let you go ahead of them in a long line, some give up their seats on a busy bus or subway.... and some of you... like me... have talked your way out of a traffic ticket by playing the sweet innocent "Huh? Wha? There was a red light WHERE?" card.
But when your car breaks down and you need to get it repaired, being a woman is possibly the worst possible senario. You're basically a walking target entering a man's world saying "I don't know $*%& about cars, please charge me whatever you wish".
But there is a reason Neptune Speed gets 5 stars on yelp. Yoshi is like the older brother I wish I had. Polite, honest, and goes out of his way to make sure you don't get ripped off by the scary world of car mechanics. His pricing is very fair, seeks out the best parts for your car, and your car is ready when he says it will be... he and his co-worker work at "Neptune Speed" because I've never had to wait more than 2 days to get my car back.
Yoshi has saved me a ton of money getting my brakes repaired, my fuel pump exchanged among others.... in addition, rather than telling me "Your check engine light is on and it will be $250 for (JUST) a diagnostic test" like every dealership I've been to... he went ahead and did it for me anyway, didn't charge me a dime, and flat out told me... "Yeah, the check light is on because of a small problem with the oxygen emission sensor and it's totally worthless to get it fixed so don't worry about that". I mean ..... talk about lookin' out! Thanks Yoshi! You's my bro' for realz! :)

I first learned of Neptune Speed through a friend and Im glad i did!
They specialize in Rotarys, but can handle pretty much anything. Yoshiya-San is very knowledgeable and nice. He doesnt mind sitting there and answering all your questions and explaining things to you.
I was even there when they were working on the Weld 240sx that was brought here straight from Japan. These guys are awesome.

Knowledgeable, trust-worthy, honest mechanic. And really, isn't that what you're looking for when your car suddenly stops working?
I had my old Civic repaired there 3 times, and each time the mechanic would tell me exactly what he thought was wrong, and then give me options as to what I could do. He even saved me money when he asked if I wanted to use a refurbished part instead of a new part.
And the best part... every repair was spot on. Bottom line, this guy knows what he is doing, and doesn't gauge you to get there. Flat out the only guy I would trust my Honda to repair (besides the dealer).

Excellent shop! I had my BMW 5 with over 210,000 miles worked on here. It was having stuttering idling and acceleration issues and this place was able to identify the problems and fixed it quickly. They had concerns about one part--thought that it needed to be replaced, however, when they went in and saw that it was okay, they left it alone (signs of an honest mechanic). He showed me the parts that were causing me problems (a few cracked hoses). This shop is popular, so it may be prudent to call ahead and make an appointment; they will not take in more work than they can handle (another sign of an honest, meticulous mechanic)

Definitely THE best / honest if not the only mechanic i'd go to
I go there whenever I get an oil change or need some work done on my rx-8 if im not able to do it, he even gives a first time customer discount which i found really funny and awesome at the same time (awesome!) he also does a free CEL diagnosis!
short story, when i first had my 8 I had a misfire on the 2nd rotor and he even took the time to get fresh ignition coils for me and put them in my car to see if that was the problem, turns out it was the spark plugs and even then he didnt charge me for the labor for the ignition coils (what an awesome guy!)
all that im trying to say is, if your looking for a top shelf mechanic and who won't lie to you, Yoshi is the man to go to!

There are places that love your money, and there are places that love your car.
Neptune Speed are one of those that genuinely love your cars.
This is a small shop run by two people. The owner, I think his name is Yoshi, and his worker Leon.
These guys own and rebuild rotary engines. That alone should tell you that they love Mazdas.
If you have a Mazda bring it here and save yourself a bunch of money by not going to a dealership. That said, they also work on other makes. I saw a Porsche and an Acura in the garage being worked on.
My car had a weird idle problem. I called a dealership with decent ratings on Yelp (Browning Mazda). When asked if they would charge me just to diagnose the issue I was told it was going to be $115 just go get the car looked at. OVER A HUNDRED FREAKING BUCKS!
So I called Neptune Speed up. Leon picked up and he admitted that if the car needs an ECU reflash they would not have the tool to do it and I have no choice but to take it to a dealer.
I described the problem to him and he said he knows for sure it's not an ECU issue but rather a problem with the air intake and oxygen sensor. He told me there would be no charge for the diagnosis. So I brought the car in and have it looked at. Sure enough when I came in the intake and oxygen sensor was really dirty. At start up the butterfly valves would get stuck causing the car to go crazy.
Leon decided to stay behind after closing time to work on my car. After everything was done he hooked up an OBD-II scanner to make sure that the car was idling just right (after comparing specs with the stickers on the car).
When he rang me up at the register he even gave me a small discount for being a first time customer. Leon told me that whenever I work on my own car and need some help just call him and he'll tell me what to do. This sort of thing you never see at a dealership. His price was really reasonable.
Needless to say next time my Mazda needs a major service I'll be coming here instead of a dealer.

Took my precious car into Neptune Speed for an oil change. Ever since a fall out with the dealership I have been searching for a trustworthy place to get my car serviced and tuned. Yoshiya and Yu were both excellent, honest and straight forward.
Having my car serviced here is so much more present than other auto shops. There is no pressure, you don't have to be on guard, no tricks, and no sales pitch. Their price is much more reasonable as well compared to most other shops I called. I am very glad to have found Neptune Speed. I'll be bringing my other vehicles to them in the future as well.
I had an oil change done there the other day and Yoshiya and Yui recommended this synthetic oil they said yields good results. I forgot the brand name but my God it made a huge difference in the smoothness of the engine right after the oil change. "Your car might feel alittle smoother after a couple of days" is a huge understatement. haha, feels like my car got a huge engine tune up just from an oil change. (and I have been using Mobil 1 for ages) Two thumbs up for Neptune Speed. :)

Having relocated to Huntington Beach recently, I needed to find a fair, reliable place to have my 2004 Mini Cooper serviced. My brake pad light came on and I immediately went to Yelp for help!
They were great! And less than I expected. I sent my bf over to have his Lexus driver side window fix - it was starting to fall off the track and making a bad noise when he would roll it up. Really frightening. It was $80 and not the $1200 that he would have paid if he went to the Lexus dealer.

Yoshi is the man! I found this place on Yelp and was super excited to go and see what all the hype was about....and needless to say I was impressed! Yoshi is very kind and very courteous and tells you what you do or do not need. I kept trying to say doesn't it need this....doesn't it need that....and he said No. Another mechanic had led me to believe my car needed a gazillion repairs. But Yoshi was honest and led me down the right affordable path! Since then i've been referring anyone who says they need a mechanic. Take your car there and you won't be disappointed!
oh...and when I needed a new radiator and thermostat I was being quoted at places for over $500 and Yoshi's price was much much more reasonable!

Having relocated to HB, I needed a new mechanic.
After reading all the reviews on here, I decided to check this place out. Like others, I'm skeptical going to new auto places. I figure I'd start off with an oil change and check up to see how it goes.
They were great. Quick and friendly service. The guy (I'm assuming owner) was very friendly and helpful. He checked on my car and informed me of the problems I had, how much it would cost and how long it would take. Prices are very reasonable. He saw that I was a first time customer and even gave me a discount!
Definitely taking my car back to get it serviced, as soon as I am not so lazy. :P

I am a very knowledgeable car guy and drive an rx7 which i enjoy tracking. I found neptune speed through my cars regional forums and had good reviews. So I took my car in to get a turbo installed and tuned since his website says he tunes apex'i power fc. I left idemitsu rotary synthetic oil in my car asking him to use it since I had dynamic seals in my turbo. Dynamic seals require the use of synthetic oil where as stock carbon seals use mineral oil. Once he had it together he put castrol mineral oil in it and already tuned it. He told me the oil didn't matter but the guy who built these turbos said it did. A month later my turbos start to leak oil and had to get them rebuilt. If your are a rotary person or looking to get a tune stay away from this place.

Great service, very helpful and honest mechanic. I took my RX-7 here for PowerFC tuning, and Yoshi really knows his stuff. Both he and Ken are really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guys for cars in general, but especially for performance vehicles and RX-7s.
They've got a few rotaries around the shop, and seem to be really open to just chatting if they've got the time.
The shop is well stocked (3 lifts), well maintained, and quite tidy. Ken told me how particular they are in the shop, when doing work like engine rebuilds.
Yoshi and Ken are exactly the type of people I'd want working on my car - meticulous and honest.
The bottom line is that I'll be back when I need further work done on my rotary.

Honest, courteous, great prices compared to other auto shops, I got my rotors done here and they asked me if I wanted brake pads also, that I had 75% wear left on my pads...I was impressed that they were honest enough to tell me I did not need pads. Any other dealer would have just put the pads on the brakes and charged me. I was thoroughly happy with the work done at Neptune, and recommend this shop to my friends and family.

I have been to Neptune Speed a couple years back and just recently last weekend. I have a 2004 Mazda RX 8 and they are great with Rotary cars. I saw them working on other Japanese imports and I would highly recommend anyone that needs work on their cars to go to Neptune Speed. Very honest folks over there. Makes great recommendations and always helpful. I only trust two shops with my cars and Neptune Speed is 1A on the list!

Bingo! This place is great.
After I drove around their parking lot twice, circling the mall of mechanics, I found this little place on the north side of mechanics circle. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change a couple days before and needed a place close to where I work. I read a few reviews and decided to try them out. The two guys at the place did the job in about 20 minutes and actually gave me $5 off for being a first time customer. The original price was less than $30 anyway.
They specialize in Japanese cars, but mentioned they often work on fords and BMW's.....
I was extremely pleased and will definitely take my car back.

I have been searching for years and years to find a mechanic that knows what he is doing and is trust worthy. I have driven all over Orange County attempting to find bargains in Santa Ana and Westminster. Pretty much everyone I went to I left with the feeling that I was cheated, which I was!
I found Neptune Speed on yelp! and thanks to them my search is finally over. Yoshiya is a great, honest, polite, and kind mechanic. I brought my car in the an O2 sensor and engine service; he was kind enough to point out that my previous mechanic in Costa Mesa modified my starter and did not do a good job! The prices were reasonable, but I will gladly pay more for the feeling that I was taken care of. He leaves the old parts in the car in the box of the new parts, so you know what your getting.
Appointments are necessary which makes it easier for both of us, Neptune Speed takes time and care for your car. You will not be dissatisfied.

I was visiting Orange County this last weekend. While driving around, my car suddenly was overheating. I stopped and found I was nearby Neptune, which had good Yelp reviews. I made my way there, and they pretty much dropped what they were doing, looked at my car, told me I had plenty of coolant, but that my fan wasn't working. They suggested a couple of reasons why the fan might not be working. They were too busy to fix my car on the spot, but they assured me I'd probably be ok if I could keep the speed up. They sent me on my way, no charge.
They were right; I used Yelp to find another garage much closer to where I was staying, and that garage (BC Advance) fixed me up in short order.
The Neptune guy was very friendly, and I really appreciated how he jumped right in and solved my immediate problem (i.e., was I stuck in Huntington Beach?).

Neptune Speed has earned my business for LIFE!
I first heard of Neptune Speed from a friend 4 years ago and have been using them exclusively ever since. The owner Yoshiya is the first HONEST and trust worthy mechanic I have met and does exceptional work. This man is a perfectionist and takes pride in ensuring the job is done right the first time at an honest price.
I've taken my RX-8 to his shop for regular maintenance, dyno tuning, modification upgrades and everything in between.
This isn't JUST a rotary shop though, these guys do excellent work on all makes / models.
I've taken my BMW there, my GF's Toyota, and have referred several friends.
If anyone in OC is looking for a great & knowledgable shop for your car, look no further because Neptune Speed is where you want to go.

Theres places where they over charge you and find ways to get more money off of you. Ive been going here for a long time now always love going there. Its japanese place and time to time converse in japanese and talk about cars. They are so friendly and honest and price wise it is the best! Terrific service. Ive gone for oil change / radiator change when it died on me.... brake pad change and always excellent service! they will take a look at your car after they finish the service requested and will tell you about the car overall. they will give me percentage of the brake pads of how it is and time frame of how long till i should come and change. very trustable! thanx to my friend who recommended this place back in early 2001! if you want to go the owner is named yoshia and tell him Brian Park sent you and hell take of you!

I have a mazda RX-8. and i used to go to the dealership to fix my car. After few incidents occurred, i have decided not to take my car to the or should i say stealership, anymore. They charge you so much even for just small repairs. My friend told me about neptune speed. and yoshiya and his crew are very professional and would give you honest opinion and fair price. My Nissan truck needed desperately needed rotor resurfacing and new brake pads. I discovered this place and Dynamic auto on here. I made my first stop to Dynamic auto first to let them give me an opinion and they took a look at my rotors without measuring them and said I needed new rotors. Which sounded fishy because it was my truck's first ever brake job, and they were going to charge me $400+ for the whole job. So, I drove to Neptune and Yoshiya took a look at my brakes and actually measured my rotors. He said all I needed was resurfacing and new brake pads. He even hooked me up with aftermarket pads for the same price as generic ones. The total job took 3 hours and was $200 cheaper than Dynamic Auto! Yosh is the man to go to, he also does a lot of sports tuning too!

AMAZING. I called and said i'd be late to drop off my fd. Yoshi waited 2 hours after they closed till i got there. he wasnt working on any cars, thats how i knew he waited, and he said so =]p. ever since i call him if i have any issues, and they dont over price the work they do, best shop ever.

I checked Yelp for a review for mechanics, and came across this guy. I just need an oil change, and tire rotation, but he was fast, and efficient. I felt comfortable, and afterward he gave me a good update on my car. I would definately go back.

Hands down one of the best shops for rotary vehicles. They also work on other makes and models as well which is always a plus. What makes this place great is the information you receive regarding your vehicle. No fluff and no pressure with the repairs. Do what you have to do and prioritize if you have multiple repairs. They are willing to talk to you about your car and explain it in simple terms instead of car lingo which you know nothing about. Fair prices, honest, and great service. Nothing more you can ask for especially from a repair facility!

I've always dreaded getting my car serviced and the feeling that I'm getting ripped off. This is the only place where I feel completely at ease afterwards. My dad had been coming here for years and he was quite knowledgeable about cars so I pretty much trusted his great reviews of this place. I've been taking my car here for the past 4 years or so...I think Yoshi took over 3 years ago (can't remember) but he is such an awesome mechanic. He is so nice and polite that it's always so easy when I take my car in. I never have to worry about anything and completely trust him which is impossible to find these days. I live in LA now but will gladly make the trek down to HB since you just can't find service like this anywhere! There have been a few times where Yoshi didn't charge me if it was a minor issue and that just shows me that he really values his customers. He is awesome! I would give this place 10 stars if I could!!!

First HONEST auto shop I've ever found. Will definitely be back. Went in for brakes and he said I could wait another 20K for the fronts. Noticed my coolant was low and figured out my radiator cap wasn't sealing tightly. He topped it off for me. Yoshi (owner and mechanic) is great. Speedy job and very reasonable price.

Friendly, honest service at a fair price. They are able to do routine maintenance as well as performance tuning (Mustang dyno on-site as well). The shop is very clean, and the mechanics are very meticulous. They are happy to explain things to you and offer free inspections. The typical image of an auto repair shop to me is messy, oily, and dirty, with a few grease monkeys mulling around ready to feed you a story to run up your bill. But at Neptune Speed, it's quite the opposite. The staff are Japanese and they run the shop with Japanese courtesy and precision. With the number of rip-off repair shops out there, it's refreshing to know that there are still some places like Neptune that take pride in a job done honestly and properly. If the owner likes you he might even invite you to go surfing with him on Sundays!

Needed my clutch replaced ASAP. My normal mechanic was 45 miles away from where my car had been. Since my bf knew one of the workers here, called in to see if they would take my car that day. Yoshi said Yes. My car was towed to the shop roughly around 3pm, I was able to get my car back at the end of the next day. My ride feels much smoother, although I need to get used to my clutch a little bit as it is a bit more sensitive, but all in all, the service was fantastic. It did help that my bf knew the shop :) Overall, I am so glad I got it done here, and he gave me an awesome deal as well! Thanks!!

i'am a female that knows only the basic things about cars, all i know is to do my oil change & put gas in my tank, and because of this i feel that i have been taken advantage of, overcharged at other repair shops, especially the big name ones. well now that's in the past. i'am so thankful to have come across ap cars just around the corner from my job, a couple of months ago, my car stalled in the middle of the street after work, and everybody seem to have been closed for the day. I called AAA & they check my battery, AAA told me i had a bad battery. i found ap cars on my phone & to my relieve they close at close at 7.00pm. Polo a very professional technician changed out my battery gave me a great warranty, plus checked my alternator, along with my starter, at no additional cost, since i purchased my new battery with polo i have no problems with my car now. & polo also did a complementary vehicle safety inspection, & made me aware of some minor problems, that i was never told of before, now i know why other places wait until your car beaks down, so they can charge a arm & a leg. here at ap cars they are truly honest & experienced. now i have piece of mind regarding my car thanks to polo!
