We've been going to German Auto for years for our BMWs and Mercedes service when they were in Cathedral City and now in their Palm Desert location. My Volvo had been side swiped on my bumper and now that they had collision repair they were able to do the work too!! After a few days in the shop my bumper looks new!! David and the guys are terrific and knowledgeable. We definitely will keep using them for our maintenance, repairs and bodywork!

I have to say it's been awhile since I have had a pleasant experience with a mechanic.
My car is running better than it has in over a year. And these guys solved a problem that another mechanic and the dealer could not, they also saved me a couple thousand dollars from what I had expected and had been quoted They were friendly thorough and committed to resolving my problem. I definitely will use them in the future

I am SO disappointed...
The air condition of my car was not working. A month ago it was "fixed" with a pretty expansive bill.
2 weeks later, AC was not working properly so I called the shop.
My mechanic Lee, was not in and they assured me they could take care of it PLUS the work was guaranteed for TWO YEARS.
Well, guess what happened: the car was there for 5 BUSINESS DAYS, I was OVERCHARGED and I told them in their faces: I feel they got advantage of me, I DO NOT TRUST THEM, and they were SUPER unprofessional.
I'll leave my first review below because until now, I was satisfied, but if LEE is not there, I do not recommended AT ALL!!!
I've been bringing my car for service for the last 7 years.
They always are able to schedule within 2-3 days. A couple of times I run into "major" trouble and took the car that same day and they fixed it right away.
They do not overcharge, are very upfront with price, time frame, and future maintenance matters.
I recommend them to EVERYBODY I know, Lee is THE BEST mechanic in town! Period.

In 2013, there was a leak in my car. I took the car to a German Auto repair which is in San Gabriel Vally to get the leak fixed. About 5 or 6 days after I got the car back, I found out that they didn't fix the leak properly instead it was getting worse. I took the car back to the shop and ask them to redo the service. The owner of the shop refused by saying that they would not do the work for free because the leak I had before they fixed well and now it is a new leak, a different place. If I wanted to get the new leak fixed I have to pay them $500 more. I would NOT trust them anymore. I took my car to Mechanic Lee whom I found on Yelp. Mechanic Lee is honest and very professional. He could tell that the leak was NOT a new one, the previous mechanic did try to fix it but somehow they did it wrong and made it worse.
HISTORY REPEATS !!!
Two month ago my car started leaking again. I would like to have mechanic Lee work on my car. I took the car in this shop on the 2nd of November last year. Unfortunately Lee was not there, David assured me that he would take care of my car. My car was there for more than a week. Finally I got the car back on the 10th late afternoon. Just about a week later, to my surprise I found new oil stain on the floor when I was cleaning our garage. I couldn't believe my eyes. It might have never stopped leaking since I got the car back on the 10th. Then I took the car back the shop again on Monday, the 23rd. Mechanics who work there spent about two hours on the car. Then one of the mechanics told me that it would be leaking for sometimes but will stop a week later. A month passed it is still leaking. I talked to them a couple times over the phone, what they have said exactly the same as the owner of the shop in San Gabriel Vally: a different leak, a different place, would charge me about $500 to fix it... What a coincidence!!!
I WOULD NOT recommend anybody to this shop unless mechanic Lee is working there.
