Had an ongoing issue with my 2008 335i. Initially took my car to the dealership and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg to replace my low pressure fuel sensor. Found Dave on Craigslist, scheduled a home visit, and within a matter of mins he was able to diagnose the problem. It wasn't the sensor at all. Rather it was a minor fix. This was a classic example of why I will never get my car repaired at a dealership. Plus he gave me a follow up call to make sure that everything was running fine. Will most definitely refer to my friends. Thanks for being an honest mechanic Dave. You saved me a ton of $$$

Dave worked on my 2003 BMW Dinan M3 after I found him locally through ads. I wanted someone to come to my garage because my car wasn't towable or drivable. He did a rear end suspension rebuild on my car and got it back up and running within a couple hours. He's the best mobile mechanic I've done business with while others lollygag and charge extra per hour for additional service, Dave is nice and sets a flat fee at the beginning of the service. I will definitely be coming back to him for more services/upgrade or repair work.

I have three cars a volvo and two toyota's dave has done work on all three
and i couldn't be happier. Fare prices (cheeper than most) and great work!
i would recommend him to anyone. you can't go wrong here.
i should add i just had him out to my house to replace the water pump on my 07 camry
which is a common problem on these cars he did it for half the price of any other quote i got and came to me to do it. the car runs great

UNETHICAL AND SHADY! GET A SECOND OPINION SAVE YOURSELF $$$
Read the FACTS below. Make a decision for yourself. AND BE WARNED!!!
I WILL NEVER USE Dave's NOT Quality Auto Service AGAIN!!
HE GAVE WRONG DIAGNOSTICS! Gave me estimate for $1,100
Smitty's $347.00 no need to replace Axle just a part missing.
Noise was from Power Steering Fluid low
I needed Breaks
My Tail Light was out that was the code he should have pulled from Warning Display.
I DO NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO HAVE BAD SERVICE OR BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!
IF you need REAL CAR SERVICE AS OPPOSED TO BASIC STUFF GO TO SMITTY'S
This review will just be the facts not the harassing texts that I got from Dave, telling me, yelp and Smitty to "go to hell".

Dave is UNPROFESSIONAL, LIES and IS RUDE when he get't called out.

FACTS!!
I took to Dave last year or lets say, my car over heated and he came to me.
That's part of why I went ahead and had it fixed with him,
#1 I didn't want to tow it and add more costs and
#2 it was already with Dave.
#3 The quote he gave me matched what Smitty said and he did allow a warranty of 1 year or 12K miles.
Smitty has a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on ALL services.
LAST YEAR:::2012
Dave had my car for over 2 weeks.
Change the prices kept adding to what "needed" to be fixed.
Had the nerve to tell me the reason for delay " The guys got drunk last night and did not come in"
Who says that? Anyhow Just the facts.
I finally got my car back.
Within a couple days, He then also had to come back and make adjustments and then it worked. I came back to Dave because he is a Mobile Mechanic and well I wanted to make sure my car was safe to drive back home from work.
ONLY PLUS ABOUT DAVE IS HE IS MOBILE... BUT BE WARNED HE CHANGES HIS MOBILE PRICE. Which was fine, my safety is important.
THIS YEAR::::2013
So last Friday, my car had an odd light come on. I wanted to see if it was safe to drive since I could not read the symbol.
He is a mobile mechanic so he came to my car at work to determine if my car was safe to drive though he charged me $70 and unlike smitty who will put the $ you pay towards any service, Dave said, "... we will see its too early to see to determine if I will put it towards anything?"
#1 First Shady thing, Dave would not put the price of his inspection towards the car being fixed
Smitty puts the price toward inspection toward the cost of anything being fixed.
#2 Dave said do not use After Market Parts and he has to use dealer parts. In the nicest way possible. Not to offend anyone chinese reading this, but Dave seems to have an issue with "Chinese Parts" He feels all AM parts are Chinese? I will need to lean on his words for this. As it is out of my realm.
I said ok I understand your perspective I will of course get another opinion. But can you at least give me a copy of the paperwork or the box so I can ensure you are using dealer parts?
Dave "NO!" after me continuing to do research and question him, he later told me its because he , "gets a discount and cant show me that paperwork."
I asked for the box at least so I can make sure he then says well we put your old part back in the box and send it to the dealer??
All very shady and made me uneasy.
so I went and got a second opinion which you should always do!
I called Smitty and he said , "...there is no issue with using after market parts on an axle. I could understand breaks or things like that because you will deal with the squeak. "
I then proceeded to tell Smitty, everything Dave said and he said he, "...understood why I would feel uneasy and un-trusting and that it did sound shady."
Smitty asked, "...did you at least ask for the box so you have the right part number and know its from a dealer part?"
I said I did but Dave would not give me that. Dave said "...well the part numbers don't match because I may add an "i" so it wont be trackable??"
I asked then who guarantees the parts and labor.
Dave, "I do". 1 year 12K miles.
I then asked wait, your telling me not to use a "chinese part" , but your saying we need to use a dealer part and your giving me same warranty for the "chinese part" that doesn't make sense.
Dave, " Fine I will warranty for 2 years parts and labor, 12K miles."
Smitty as I mentioned above, warranty's ALL WORK Unlimited miles for 2 full years.
Dave then had the nerve to tell me I had to pay for it up front. He also over charged me.
$500 per Axle and said I need to pay a deposit. For an Axle that wasn't even broken?? Then said I needed to do both... cause the other one was not far behind?? He tried to fast talk me and pressure me with scare tactics!!

So car repairs are never any fun, especially if you are female in this dog eat dog world of auto mechanic. I went by Dave's Quality Auto Service because I was not passing my smog check. Dave was nice enough to look into the problem and he gave me an estimate.
The estimate was very reasonable so I called and made an appointment. Dave said the repairs would take him a full day. I work up in Del Mar so catching a ride is quite difficult but I can do without my car for a day. ONE DAY ONLY!
I was a bit concerned after reading the reviews, but Dave was nothing but professional with me and I thought he deserved the benefit of the doubt. Well, I'm glad I did. I must say that the estimate Dave gave me a few weeks earlier only went up by $20. No problem becasue he was able to finish everything in one day.
I was given instructions to wait a few days and to drive my car before I attempted to get the smog check test completed again. On last Friday first thing in the morning I went to get my car smog tested (See quick tip from 1/18/2013) and my car had not warmed up yet but on the 2nd attempted, I PASSED MY SMOG!!!
Now, with everything I just mentioned I would have given Dave 4 stars however, yesterday I received a phone call from Dave asking how my car was doing and if I passed my smog. NOW THAT IS QUALITY SERVICE!!! The 5th Star is for the excellent follow up. Now seriously people, how many of your mechanics call you to follow up on your vehicle's performance......ONLY Dave's Quality Auto y'all. You better recognize!
Seriously, if you read the other reviews, keep in mind some people are pieces of work (get your mind out of the gutter)!!!

Unlucky but Dave was VERY FAIR. I am the buyer who bought the car from Carmen P. and I had the problem with the engine after i bought it. For sure it was very unlucky and a lot of trouble but Dave took care of it and i feel like he did everything he can to help me. He even extended my guarantuee for longer than the 90 days so in case I have another problem with the engine he told me to come back and he will fix it for free! Right now the car is still running!

I had what some people might call a "problem" car (an imported European Smart Car) and most of the mechanics that I called refused to even look at it. Dave took it on, and did excellent work repairing all the physical damage to the car, and it came back clean as a whistle. If you have body damage to your car, I would definitely recommend this shop. Dave spoke with me personally, every time I came in, and his customer service was excellent. I really felt as though he went above and beyond to try and make me happy in a difficult situation. Thanks Dave!

Took my car here last Tuesday. Just got an oil change, but it was a great experience.
Oil changes here are $21.99. It's not the cheapest oil change around, but I enjoyed supporting a local business and there wasn't the hassle of the guy chasing you to get you to do service you don't need.
He made one recommendation on something I could fix, but he put no pressure on me at all to do the service. I ended up getting it done because it was so refreshing NOT being pressured to do something.
The service was friendly and I was in and out in 20 minutes. If you need an oil change, you should check this place out.

Horrible service. They took people without apts before me. The owner showed up 30 minutes after my apt to work on my car. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car and still made me pay. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. -WOW - then the owner has the nerve to say they have no record of me ever coming in. Shady.

I had a great experience with Dave Quality Auto Shop - I had to get my car towed to the location and was worried the price to fix my car would be outrageous - however the cost to fix was way cheaper than expected and he even filled up the air in my tires before sending me on my way. I'd definitely recommend taking your car here - Dave is a nice guy and will get your car fixed quickly and have you on your way fast!

The fact that you are trying to discredit my review really bothers me! Why would you only comment on negative reviews and try to get people to think that my experience was false? You've done it before on another negative comment as well. If you really think I'm a paid yelp consultant, I'd be happy to screen shot the texts you sent me and upload them as photos.

It takes me about 5 minutes to write a review or any comments on yelp about my lack of experience that I've had with you. The same amount of time that it would have taken you to respond to me with, "Sorry about your experience, give us a call back and hopefully we can help you out with your services" or anything like that. Which, in my opinion, would have been a better way to go about dealing with my review.
I know what it is like to own a small business. I grew up with my parents owning them, and when you have ANY business, customer service is key. How about instead of writing negative responses to your negative reviews, you try and fix the bad experience that these people had with you. Not only will it reflect better upon yourself, maybe you will get another shot with these customers.
Don't worry, this will be the last update I write on your page. I'm really not trying to bash your business, simply sharing my experiences with others on yelp, which is what this website is about. You can continue to complain about your lack of desire to pay for your page, which is understandable, but maybe you should take responsibility for your business as well.

This guy charged me $60.00 for a service call and did nothing to repair the car. The minute he got here he wanted to tow the car to his shop. I called a "mobile mechanic" to have the car repaired at my home. I feel like I have been scammed.

I took my car to Dave's shop. He searched around and got me a price for much less then all of the competition. I feel that he did a quality and thorough job, for a very reasonable price.
