I'm gonna cut to the chase on this one so for those of you that would rather I just get to the point... I'll just get to the point. I had the struts replaced on an ACURA at Big John's Performance. Big John's Performance gave me a great price compared to all of the other nearby locations in the area. I shopped around and believe me there are many other location in the area. Not only was the price great, they did an outstanding job plus they were great on getting it done in a timely manner. They went over the condition of the original struts (i.e. they were pretty much blown) and they also gave me some additional handy input regarding my overall suspension. If your looking for good service, Big John's Performance is the best place to go in town... hands down.
Now for the rest of nitty gritty on how ended up at Big John's Performance. So it's been a while since I purchased a used car and having the wonderful experience of maintenance. Let's just say I'm a little rusty. I bought the ACURA used a short while ago with a good number of miles on it. Low and behold my recent endeavor of needing to get struts. I looked around for a good place, even took it to a certified Honda/Acura location to have them confirm the shocks needed to be replaced. Oddly enough the "certified" place didn't detect the problem. My problem with that was that I could tell something was up with the struts. After speaking with several different places and cutting through alot of BS, I finally came across Big John's Performance. Big John's Performance was great to work with. Don't waste your time with any other place and take your business to Big John's Performance.

DISAPPOINTING- my husband took his vette in today for a tire- it has run-flat tires -
They ordered the wrong tire- hours later when the WRONG tire arrives they realize what my husband tried to tell them earlier but they kept disagreeing with-
SO a WHOLE day was WASTED due to the shop ordering the wrong tire-very disappointing-
They did not offer my husband anything - no car wash- no oil change- very disappointed in the lack of service-and wasted time...
For the record I don't take my car here- it;s not about price it is about more than saying sorry- take the time and make an accurate diagnosis- the customer that drives in with a vette usually knows what kind of tires it has...

I've used Big John's on and off for tire needs. Every time I've come out of there spending a lot less than I thought I would have to, with everything taken care of promptly and quickly. I am consistently offered a good deal, and they always suggest the most cost effective, common-sense solutions first; I never feel like they're trying to upsell me, and I really appreciate that.
The only negative ... and this is not their fault ... is that their parking lot is a true nightmare at times. There's an alleyway that seems like it ought to be a one-way lane that enters the service bays. On my most recent visit, I got trapped in a congo-line of cars trying to enter, with nowhere to park. Thankfully the car wash wasn't that busy and I was able to escape by driving the wrong way through their entrance.

A year ago when I was attempting to install an interceptor on my Challenger I triggered the check engine light, not knowing anything about cars I freaked out and went to the Valencia Dodge dealership. They were booked but told me they could check it out for $200!(WTF). So I went on Yelp to find an auto shop and found Big Johns Performance right up the street. When I got there it was kind of busy but was immediately greeted by one of the guys at the counter. They did a diagnostic check and determined it to be related to the component I was messing with. I was thinking the price was gonna be at least $100 since they were so busy but when I asked so how much do I owe he said don't worry about it just think of us for your future needs.
2 weeks ago my wife and I purchased our Jeep and wanted to get a lift and maybe tires but didn't know anything about Jeeps or parts but remembered that Big Johns took care of me so I called Big Johns and spoke with Daniel "Dan" and he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and funny he wasn't pushy or trying to sell me on what he thought was best just listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions off of that and when I would go against his suggestions he didn't make me feel like I was wrong and he was right. Fast forward 3 weeks later my wife and I had Big Johns do an entire makeover on the Jeep with custom powder coating and so much more. Dan, Steve, and the rest of the guys took great care of us from begging to end. The entire experience was stress free and Daniel was always willing to answer all my questions and would explain everything in detail. Dan made this experience as easy as possible and made sure I had exactly what I wanted and Steve did a great job putting it all together.
No matter if it's a Check Engine light or a complete transformation Big Johns will take care of you and your vehicle. Thanks guys!

Was not happy at how my car was poorly worked on. My car sat there over a month waiting for them to complete repairs, they couldn't get the parts. I had to find a vender to ship them my own parts to try and finish my repairs they missed half the list I had gave them to work. Definitely don't recommend poor customer service!

There was a leak coming from the timing chain cover. The dealership quoted a mega price. Big John quoted half the price.
The shop has the policy of first come first serve, and we had to wait a couple of days to get the car in. Once in, it was about 5 hours.
We were very pleased, with the results. Not a drop of oil was found in the garage the next day.

I've used Big John's for several things over the years. This is my first review. I have a 2014 Ram. I walked into Big John's with the desire for a 4" Superlift. Because Dodge puts that on their trucks in the factory and warranties them. Big John's was pushing BDS. That sort of put me off so I went elsewhere for the Superlift......which was crap!! I did more research and found out that most lifts, will not void your warranty. I crawled back to Big John's feeling dumb. I bought the 4" BDS. They gutted the old kit and installed the new. 1st of all Big John's did an incredible job. 2nd of all........BDS is the best. Big John's was right!!

-MONDAY EVENING-
ME: Hey Big John, I need to drop my car off on Tuesday morning, have it back by Thursday mid-afternoon. The brakes need looked at since the pedal is hitting the floor. It's also running rough, I believe the timing needs adjusted. I cannot get to it, can you do this?
BIG JOHN: Absolutely, we'll take a look first thing Tuesday.
I drop the car off on Monday night.
-TUESDAY-
After no word all day Tuesday, I drive past after work and see the car sitting exactly where I left it.
-WEDNESDAY MORNING-
ME: Hey Big John, have you looked at the car?
BIG JOHN: No, sorry. We got busy. We'll get on it this afternoon.
After no word Wednesday evening, I drive past and see the car sitting exactly where I left it.
-THURSDAY MORNING-
ME: Hey Big, have you looked at the car?
BIG JOHN: No, sorry. We got busy. We'll get on it this afternoon.
After no word by noon, I drive past to see the car sitting exactly where I left it. I go in.
ME: Are you going to get to the car? Otherwise, I'll try to get to it myself.
BIG JOHN: Sorry, we got busy. We'll get on it now.
I go to lunch, come back, and there's the car on the rack. No one near it. I stay all afternoon, observing, since I had the day off work to start my vacation in which I was towing the car to a show in Vegas. After several 5 minute spells of working on the car over 3 hours, and pouring brake fluid into the master cylinder and pumping the pedal, they take it down.
BIG JOHN: It's good, man. Brakes are good, and it's running good. That'll be $80 for the brake bleed.
ME: Thanks Big John.
Mind you, I know they did practically nothing, but I was hopeful, nevertheless.
Fire the car up, idles okay. Brakes are soft. Hit the road to the sound of backfires because they didn't even attempt to adjust the timing.
The car ran so poor it wasn't worth taking to the show, so I lost out on another $80 for the trailer rental and $30 for the show registration. Basically I paid almost $200 to have Big John's hold my car and do nothing to it for three days.
Unfortunate that a supposedly reputable shop couldn't handle a one hour job over the course of three days. I'd spent probably $3,000 at Big John's in the previous year since going there, and thought they had done an okay job in the past.
Definitely will never take my business there again and no one will ever have my endorsement for these guys.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT do business with this company!! I had a lift kit done by them on my new Chevy truck. It continued to rub after the installation. They kept cutting away at my truck but it continued. About a month after the installation, the rear end bolts that hold the leaf springs on the rear end came loose and so did the rear end while I was exiting the freeway at 60 MPH. I slid for about 2-300 yards. So to say the least, it scared me and my family to death. THE REAR END CAME DISCONNECTED on the freeway!! I had it towed to them and they put it back together. They also informed me that this happened to another customer of theirs and they fired the technician and "apologized". About a couple weeks later the engine started to leak oil as a result so I took it to the dealer. The representative at the dealer called me and said I need to get there ASAP because BIG JOHNS PERFORMANCE cut my frame when they did the lift and my warranty was void on my brand new truck. The Cv boots are torn also. The manager at the dealership told me that the work they did was dangerous as well. I had their tech come out while it was at the dealer and he refused to do anything about it. I have reported them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They did an investigation so I have a report showing their negligence. I have had to contact my attorney to file a Civil Lawsuit against them for negligence, personal injury, and property damage in an amount to exceed $150,000. These people could have killed me do to their negligence and will not do anything about it. My attorney is also going to seek criminal charges as well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I thought that Big John's was more of a specialty tire and rim shop that did lift kits on 4 by's etc., I didn't realize they are a really good auto repair shop. Particularly with somewhat older cars. Not a lot of mechanics around who know the older stuff really well. We bought my daughter an old '93 Toyota 4Runner. It started having a problem with engine power--would start and run but just wouldn't go. Three different shops played around with it but didn't resolve the problem. A friend of ours told us to take it to Big John's which we did. Found out the first shop had "fixed" the problem all right--which left missing parts, springs, etc., in the timing belt system, idler pulley. Big John's fixed the problem correctly, replaced missing parts, and the 4Runner ran great. From then on they have been our 'go to'. I just took our 2008 Camry there for a full 100,000 mile service--at about half the cost of the dealership. They completely drained and flushed every single fluid system in the car--brake fluid, radiator, transmission, etc. The longest wait I've had there getting my car into them and back was 24 hours, turnaround is pretty quick. Hey they are a busy shop--always busy-- and along with brand new trucks and cars in their parking lot you'll see a good number of old stuff too--old trucks, cars, Suburbans, etc. Lastly, my son bought a '93 Ford 150 4x4 pickup with high miles which wouldn't pass smog and had the check engine light on, they went through the EGR system and found some disconnected or leaking lines, etc., replaced EGR solenoid. In other words, these guys are good at diagnosing problems and fixing them properly. Personable, knowledgable, reasonable, honest shop.

There are as many tire shops in Santa Clarita as there are sushi restaurants. I choose Big John's because of the friendly and honest employees. They don't push you to replace all four tires if let's say the rears or fronts still have some life in it. That's exactly what happened to me. There are so many other tire shops ran by corporations that love to scare their customers to replace all four tires when not required.

Extremely unhappy with Big Johns. I live in Washington state and was passing through town on my way out to Texas for a job. On the way from Seattle down, a seal where my driveshaft meets the rear differential gave out and was spinning out oil under the whole underside of my hummer. I called up big johns (only place open on Saturday) and asked if they would be able to replace this seal. I was very very specific which seal considering my hummer is 4wd and there are two driveshafts and two differentials (front and rear). To properly replace this seal, the differential pinon nut has to be torqued accordingly which is why I didn't do it myself. They let my know that they had the resources and tools to complete this task but today being 1pm on a Saturday, they wouldn't be able to finish it. They let me know however that they would put it on the rack to take a look and get me a price by the end of the day. I had my phone by my side the rest of the day but no phone call. Monday morning I called them at 8am to check up (a.k.a I need my car guys). They told me they would get it up on the rack (same thing they said Saturday) and get me an estimate. 11:30 AM i called again to see what's going on, getting kind of frustrated at this point. They again told me they are about to put it up on the rack and midway through his sentence one of the guys cuts him off and tells him the estimate created for my car. It was reasonably priced and AGAIN I explained which seal it was and how vital it was to me getting back on the road again. They said it would only be an hour or so (to be completed 12:30pm). 1:30 I showed up thinking all I had to do was sign the papers and had the piece of plastic over to pay. I stood there for 35ish mins before the guys upfront ended their conversation and asked if I had been helped yet. I let them know I'm the owner of the hummer and they said it was still on the rack and should be only 10 or 20 more minutes... 4 HOURS PASSED. I REPEAT FOUR HOURS. It was kinda hysterical at that point because I heard them tell the same information to people who brought their cars in for a simple tire nail patch. Each person ended up staying there for hours... I do not understand how this place keeps its business. 5:30 I finally get word that my hummer is finished. They apologized and said that a car was blocking my hummer and the parts for that car arrived late so they could not move it out of the way of my hummer. I paid early to get it out of the way since I was anxious to leave. Walking out the door, the technician drives by in my hummer taking it around the block (not even sure if this is legal) he came back and said everything was good. I went on the ground under my rear axle, showing him all the oil that had spewed out on my drive down, he looked at me kind of weird and said "yeah you should get that fixed". Confused, I asked him what he meant. He said that he noticed this leak as he was changing the seal. After going back and forth I realized HE DID THE WRONG SEAL. THE WRONG SEAL WHICH I THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED more than twice. He gave me the sheet of paper explained the repair requested and apparently whoever I spoke to about the issue wrote down a very simplistic description on the work order "seal from driveshaft to differential". Not once did I describe the problem this simply. I was very very clear that it was the pinon seal where the drive shaft meets the rear differential. The mechanic changed the front axle seal. A seal I could've replaced in a driveway. I am extremely unsatisfied with this business and I would encourage people to go else where. At this point I'm concerned because I've just wasted a bunch of time at big johns, and the problem is still occurring. The leak was so bad, I would not make it to Texas without constantly refilling my differential fluid or without completely blowing a differential.
First thing Tuesday morning, I found a jeep shop in Santa Clarita and explained my story to them. They were just as amazed as I was with my experience at big johns and put my hummer on the rack in under 5 minutes. I was expecting to be there for hours. The technician changed the seal out in under 30 minutes and I was on my way.
Listen to these bad reviews. I looked past the negative reviews and boy was I wrong. Never again

The Lift Gate Struts broke on my 2002 Yukon several months ago and I couldn't take it anymore (think grocery time), so I took it here this morning for the repair. Dan handled my order and Steve did the job. Here's how it went: Began my order at 8am, sat down in their plush leather sofa near the gigantic screen tv, watched some news, got thirsty, walked over to the desk to ask for my keys to get some water, (because I thought nothing had happened to my truck yet), and Dan says, "ITS FINISHED!" I was STUNNED, to say the least. And the cost was reasonable (a buck fifty). Other places TAKE FOREVER to do work to it but NOT HERE. I highly recommend this place. The only negative thing is the business' parking lot seems to always be full which gives the impression they cannot take any new business but apparently that isn't all ALL the case. I'll be bringing my baby (truck) here again.

This review is two months late but I promised i'd leave the review and am following through with that. I called and spoke to Daniel about getting some J.W. Speaker headlight and fog lights installed in my JK Wrangler and he was extremely helpful. The issue was that it was my only day off and he was backed up with jobs for the day so he wasn't sure if he could get me in. It wasn't the end of the world, I just work a lot of hours and wasn't sure when i'd be able to set it up. Daniel understood and told me if I dropped my Jeep off that day he'd try to get to it but there were no guarantees. He told me he legitimately would try to make it work and any cancellation of appointments or any job that finished sooner than expected and he would get right on it. I figured it was worth it so I dropped off my Jeep around Noon and at about 4pm I get a call from Daniel that the job was done and to come pick up my Jeep.
I was definitely appreciative and will be back when I add my Lift, Wheels and tires! I actually work in the auto business and have referred a LOT of people to Big John's over the years just based on what I've heard from other people and customers. This was the first time I've used them personally and they did an exceptional job. I was very happy with the service and the install and will be coming back and continuing to refer people to them in the future.

I was parked in their lot and when I came to get my car, a truck was blocking me in. I went into the Big John's and asked if someone owned the truck that was blocking me in and this was the guy's reply
"that's my truck and wtf are you going to do about it!"

I was panicked, they were not. I had gotten out of my car and could hear the air escaping from my tire. I was not in the mood to pay $500 for a replacement but I put on my big girl panties and braced for the worst. I called my BMW tech friend assuming I should bring it to the dealership and he told me to take it to a tire place. The first place that popped into my head was Big John's so that's where I ended up. I was there before they opened and stopped one of the guys as he was walking up to ask if it was fixable. Needless to say, they gave me a lovingly hard time because they are light hearted and deal with my type all the time. I was in and out in 30 mins with my tire patched and only the damage was only $15. No big deal. Thanks Big John's for saving my day.

Very disappointed to the point where I need to write this review. I walked into this facility at approximately 8:40am and saw about three customers sitting in the lounge area who were waiting for the completion of their car and one in front of the service desk. I figured I would stand behind him and patiently wait my turn. Being there were 4 male adults behind the counter I figured I would be next. I was never given ANY acknowledgement but I figured that was not part of their conduct. Not always necessary but it would be an added benefit of some place where you will spend your money.
After 5 minutes of waiting another male customer walks in and sits in one of the stools in front of the desk. Still no acknowledgement to either of us but we were entertained by the stories of the workers car club to the only customer that had the attention of the 4 workers. NOT REALLY. Anyhow about after another 5-10 minutes that passed another worker came in from the work area and immediately walks over to the gentleman who walked in after me and started to help him. Not a single worker acknowledged that I was next and they continued with other stories of how they know third parties fathers etc.
Being oblivious and self-centered is not a good trait for businesses in the SCV. This is only one situation that occurred with me and this business.
Several years ago I had them install tires for me. They put the front rims on the rear of the vehicle and the rear in the front. They did not realize that my vehicle uses different size from the front and rear of the vehicle. I was not able to drive the vehicle because of this. They also appeared to be bothered that they had to change them back being it was close to the time where they had to go home. It was not my fault but they acted in that manner. Being they are a business that deals with alignment and tires you would think they would have knowledge of this-again they are very oblivious to their surroundings.
Today I thought I would give them another try even though their history with me was not good. However, after this situation I would never go back to them because I am huge on customer service. If a business can offer 0 customer service, they should get 0 business. I also read another person's review where it is stated that you will get good service only if you have a personal relationship with the staff. They better have a lot of friends because I understand that being a good business person involves being good at business, not only being a good friend.

A while back I took my car elsewhere for an alignment due to extenuating circumstances. My steeing wheel was crooked when they gave it back. For as long as I live in this area I won't ever go anywhere else for anything related to my vehicle. These guys are as honest and professional as you will ever come across in their line of business. They were completely honest with me and quoted me a fantastic price to fix what I thought was going to end up being an expensive repair. They could have charged me 4x the amount they did and I wouldn't have blinked an eye. They even pointed out some potential issues I may see pop up in the future with my vehicle. I will be scheduling for those repairs to be done with them in the near future. Couldn't be any more satisfied with this shop. I will be selling my SUV soon but before I buy my next vehicle I will be paying these guys to inspect it! Do yourself a favor and give these guys a shot!!!

Big John's Performance is awesome.
I have been coming here for tires, tire rotations, new breaks, cosmetic work, and god knows what else for the last 12 or so years and I would never think to go anywhere else.
Their staff is always helpful, honest, and courteous which is a big thing I think in an industry that has so many dishonest and rude people. No matter how small or large the issue is they always inform me of the work being done, the cost involved, and then keep me up to date with an expected ETA on when I will be back on the road.
There is not a whole lot they can't do and if they can't they are very good about recommending someone they personally trust to help you out.
Really can't say enough good things about them, like I said, they are awesome.

Best place to go for your tire needs. I have been here five or so times now and have nothing but good things to say about this place. The customer service is top notch.
I have purchased 2 sets of tires here, and have come in for tire patches/flat repairs as well. They are courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and fast! Their product/service pricing is more than fair, and the last time I came in (tire patch) they didn't even charge me!
Big John's has a nice family owned type feel to it, and is highly recommended.

I have been going to this family owned and run business for over a decade. They have always been very honest and fair. I buy my tires from them and they never charge me to pull nails out and fix flats. Everytime I shop for tires they always have the best prices and the fastest service. I dont know if John is still involved, but his sons do a great job of running the place and giving great service.

I like chain tire stores for the ease of repair when away from home. But if I need something out of the ordinary, Big John's is the place to go. They have the talent to tackle performance issues and conversions. They can order just about anything and tire pricing will typically be aggressive.
But it is a tire shop and manners may not be the highest priority on the staff's mind. They know they are fairly priced and good at their jobs. And there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Busy days will result in curt responses. But I've found that if I'm willing to be patient, the quality of service is generally excellent.
If you like chain stores, stick with them. If you like local shops, this is the place for Santa Clarita. If you're like me and need both, keep their number handy.

If you have to pass a drug test anytime soon, AVOID THIS PLACE! There is almost always someone smoking weed in the work areas, which can easily cause people within 1,000 yards to fail a drug test...... That being said....
This used to be a FABULOUS place!
Until Big John quit coming around. Now, they'd rather try to intimidate you, rather than do any work for you. They'll give you anything, except what you ask for (told them I wanted an MSD starter for $325, then they tried charging me over twice that for one so cheap, it didn't even have a manufacturer name on it, and it died in less than a month and they refused to honor their own warranty), they'll tell you "Come in tomorrow at 8am" and even when you get there before that, you will be LUCKY if they don't wait till 4pm to tell you to come back again the next day, and the next, and the next. Not to mention they can get VERY arrogant and vulgar, even if all you do is ask what your options are for parts. Had to tell their welder FIVE TIMES to stop shining his ultra bright flashlight directly in my face, and he kept doing it, at very close range. Will NEVER set foot on their property again, especially after they took it upon themselves to do work on my motorcycle without my knowledge or consent, in which they also drilled 6 holes in my windshield to install a bull horn that I never even asked them to order. I told them to let me know a price, and then I would let them know if I wanted it. They NEVER told me anything about a price, then I show up there one day on my bike, parked in the back, went into the lobby for a bit, came out, and find that there's this huge eye sore of a bullhorn bolted to my plastic windshield, and wired straight to my starter solenoid (two counts of EXTREME stupidity) then they tried charging me $350 for it (NOT including labor), when it retails for $69. When I explained to them that I NEVER told them to order it, and never told them that they could install it (especially to my windshield) they decided to start with personal attacks.

Had a morning emergency - went to drive off to work and had a screw in my tire. Drove the car to Big Johns (it was only a couple miles away) and they took care of it - within minutes! Turned out that the screw was stuck in the thicker part of the tread so no harm done. But...point is, Big Johns handled it fast and free. :) Great customer service too!

I've been coming to Big John's since I started driving ten years ago, courtesy of my dad's recommendation. There really is nowhere better to go in Santa Clarita. The staff is honest and dependable - they're really willing to work with you to find you parts that are safe but within your budget. These guys are the best, and they offer free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tires they sell. I'll continue coming to Big John's as long as they're in business!

Very Bad Service! It's too bad I had two bad experiences, because it's such a nice looking shop. I took my pick up to get a leveling kit installed. One of the spacers was installed wrong. Rubber absorber was put back in half ast. I waited 4 hours for that sloppy job. I made the mistake of going back for an install of 1 inch rear blocks. Again, lazily done! They replaced my u bolts with some generic extra long ones. They didn't even bother to cut them. The U bolts rusted up after a week and are now crooked. In summary, Horrible, unprofessional installers who leave a cigarette stench in your new vehicle. And cheap parts are used.

Where to start .... These guys rock!!!!!!!
Steve is an amazing guy when it comes to fab work. when I first brought my car in for some exhaust work and man was I impressed with how he took care of me. and man does he know his cars. defiantly the only guy in scv I will ever let do exhaust work for me.
Rob & Dan and all the guys up front great guys always willing to help and get you taken care of. I have had some car trouble as of late I was stranded on the side of the road and called these guys up at 5:55pm they answered and said go ahead and have it towed to us we will get it up and running for you.... once I arrived with the car on the tow truck 6:45pm there was still a guy waiting for me waiting to take my car in.... Wow talk about customer service this definitely made me feel like i was an important customer. sure enough as always they took care of me and got my car back to me by the following day.
Big John's Performance is exclusively the only place in SCV that I will ever get my vehicles worked on. Thanks guys

I read the reviews and decided to stop by and see what the staff could find out. These guys are very friendly and REAL. They help out and do everything they can to make it as pleasant as possible. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
The 5-star ratings with two lines worth of comments are indicitive of paid-for reviews, or friends of the business.
Where do I start?
1) "Your truck will be done today". Later in the day after the truck is completely apart, "Uh, we don't have a part and the nearest one will take three days to get here".
2) After the work is done: 3, yes 3, separate return trips to try and get them to do the repairs correctly, including the discovery they did NOT use new U-bolts, which is a huge safety issue, even though they told me they would and CHARGED ME FOR THEM! Even after these visits it was never right until I took it somewhere else
3) Based on the sales guy's recommendation, they put Hankook Dynapro tires on my truck for about $1000 bucks. "They're great tires. My favorite all-terrains, blah, blah, blah". Reality: Crap tires that are are horrible in rain and snow, probably couldn't sell any out of your stock and figured this was a good way to dump four of them when I needed tires on short notice and didn't have the opportunity to do any research.
There is SO much more, but I've already wasted enough time on this business.
Stay away. There are some reputable shops in the SCV that will do a MUCH better job, like A&K, RG, etc.

Brought my classic mustang here for alignment after having new stock suspension installed, was told that they could do it. Received my car back, alignment tech said "he did the best he could." That's sounds like a quality professional. After driving around for a week noticed my tires where wearing inside to outside on tread pattern.TO SUM UP A LONG STORY, IF YOU WANT GREAT SAFE MECHANICAL WORK DONE, GO TO "GRAND AMERICAN TIRE" SEE ALLEN!!! WHEN HE FIXES A CAR, ITS DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Thank you Big Johns, I had to go out and buy 2 new tires and had the alignment redone right. Over $400 down the drain. Please stop calling me and asking how you can improve my visit. It's plain and simple, RETURN MY MONEY that I wasted there.

I adore these guys and regret ever taking a vehicle anywhere else. They are SO helpful, where to even start? I came in for a muffler that quite literally had rusted off (we're from the East coast and so is the car). They inspected, gave me quotes and options, and took time to say hello to my squirmy kids. One said squirmy kid was sick, and one of Big John's sons at the counter helped me out with him. I was preparing to walk home (live around the Bridgeport Shopping Plaza area) and instead they offered me a ride... oh thank GOODNESS! When the vehicle was ready I just had to bring them a few dozen cookies. Apparently that's not uncommon... they seem to get goodies all the time!
I came again months later for suspension and brakes. I parked on the street because there was no parking (which doesn't even bother me, they're that good), and came inside to check in. Instead of saying, yeah bring it around, another son said, no let me go get it, you and the kids stay here. WOW!!
Of course I came back when I needed tires, I didn't even bother with the clubs or other tire places. I got 4 good, huge tires for an SUV for around $650 with everything included. Was amazing. They checked out several issues I'd been having and gave me lots of options again.
This is the kind of business I wish was still the norm. It is family run and they live up to that. They take pride in their work, and in fact I found out from the owner that they've never done advertising in all the years they've been open. They just rely on word of mouth. They have my business forever!

There is no place like Big John's for happy customer service from great guys who know their family owned business well. I wanted to change tire sizes on my truck and they gave me several options to choose from and a recommendation that turned out to be exactly what I was seeking. The tv helped time fly while they installed the tires and it was fun to watch the brothers interact with each other and their customers, who appeared to be regulars that hung out just because its that kinda place. I was disappointed they installed the tires so quickly..I just wanna hang out too! Don't make me go! Don't I need brakes? You sure???

I found this place online when we were getting ready to drive to Anaheim for a part (hour and a half drive for me) so I tried to see if I can find something closer to me. I don't know what I searched that brought me to big johns website. My boyfriend called them and asked if they had a specific part in stock and they did! I was so happy because this trip would be 30 min or less. So off we went to big johns. Immediately greeted when we got there and waited about 2-3 minutes for an associate to help since they were busy. I wish I got the name of the gentleman that helped us because he was so nice! The customer service was awesome and I know We will definitely be back! We were literally in and out of there in like 10 min. Thank you big johns!!!!!!

I have used them for nails on tires for 2 occasions. A lot of other stores in this area refused to work on my car because it was lowered and had carbon fiber side skirts. Big John's were more than happy to work on my car. A lot of care went into not damaging the paint and trims. I was very impressed.
On 2nd occasion, found out that one of my rear tire with a nail had 1/4 of the tire (toward inside) had worn out completely. They mentioned that they can't work on the tire because tread will come off when it deflated. Here we go, I told myself, they know I need to get out as soon as possible to work, so they will sell me over priced tires.
Looking at my front tires, which still had good miles to go, they recommended that it might be cost effective to get used tires for the rear until it's time to replace the whole tires. Replacing one of the rear would cause some issues obviously, and that replacing both would be most ideal. Tech looked over entire inventory to find 2 same used tires with similar wear. Effort that is definitely appreciated.

Absolutely, by far the BEST car shop in the entire Santa Clarita, and San Fernando Valley!! If I could give more than 5 stars I honestly would. They will do everything they can to give you the best service and price. I will only always go here, other places rip you off and make you over pay, not with this family owned business. They will help you save money and they are so professional and quick. All of their employees are very good at what they do and I couldn't be any more happier every time I leave with my car. If they have to order a part they jump on it even willing to go pick it up to get it back to the shop quicker. If you are in need of anything I highly recommend coming here. They never disappoint here. They are a great company and I leave satisfied every time.

worst place ever for service - i agree with the previosu comment about the arrogance and lack of concern for customers. They are such a rip off as well and when I complained they didn't even reply to my email. They did 1000 worth of repairs to my sons truck and then decided to tell me that the frame might be bent. Sure enough the frame was bent and the truck was totaled - but of course they did 1000 of worthless repairs first - shouldn't they have considered the frame before they did that work?. And it was going to be 1500 until I had to ASK them to look for refurbished parts. And then that 1000 was for nothing anyway. Then they sold me tires for my pop up trailer and put golf cart tires on my trailer. Needless to say I had 2 separate blow outs on the freeway as these tires are not meant for higher speeds or the highway. They did replace them, but no apology, no concern for the danger that they exposed me to. We had been going there for a number of years but I will never ever go there again. They also replaced the generator on one of our cars once and it went bad in a couple of weeks. they did replace it but it is a hassle to keep being without your car because they put in bad parts. Overall, their demeanor said they didn't care about me or making me happy and that they have enough customers taht they don't need me.

I will NEVER EVER come back here!
Took my car in for a simple alignment. Came back to pick up my car, drove home and realized my steering wheel is crooked!!!! I called them back right away and told them about the problem and they told me to hurry back before the alignment guy leaves. So I do, and there I am at the front desk waiting right before they're about to close. The alignment guy comes up, and the guy at the front desk explains to him my problem. He (the alignment guy) stares at me, giving me the dirtiest look ever, slams his keys and his cigarette packs on counter and leaves without saying ONE WORD!!!! I was appalled at the attitude this guy displayed!!!!!
I understand that its the end of the day and you want to go home, but if you did the alignment correct the first time.... then there wouldn't be a problem at all! And if he would've talk to us, we would've loved to reschedule and come back the following week to get the alignment done right. We paid $850 for new tires (didn't buy from this place), we don't want a shitty, half-ass alignment done. We would've happily come at a convenient time for him.
But instead, he took my car for a test drive. Who knows what the hell he did in my car. Totally looked like someone you wouldn't trust at all. He comes back to explain, "Oh, you need new parts." Apparently, I need new bushing for my sterring wheel! That's why my steering wheel is crooked. Really???!!!!! He's only saying that because he didn't want to re-align my car. After talking some sense to him, he made an attempt to adjust my steering so that when i'm driving straight, the steering wheel isn't off to the left.
But after driving my car to work today, it's slightly off to the right now. So frustrating. I don't even know if I want to go back and complain to them. i just know that I'll be taking my business elsewhere. and I'll make sure none of my family and friends do any business with them.

i have been coming back and forth to Big Johns so i can get info, quotes, and finally set an appt for Magnaflow exhausts on my 2012 Camaro.
they were always helpful, whoever was there at the counter always gave us whatever info we needed, answered all our questions, and made us feel welcomed to their work.
we ordred the mufflers on monday, and on wednesday got a call saying they are in, and i asked if i could bring it in today (wednesday) and they said ya bring it down it should take about 3 hours..no problem there at all!!

I had a terrible experience (straight from a dateline investigation show) many years ago at Big John and have not returned.
I brought my car in to have a flat fixed. I know I had a nail in it that could easily be pulled and plugged. But when the guy put my truck on the rack to "inspect" the tire, he brought to me a hand full of broken off bolts and other junk that he told me was in my tire. Clearly he had taken a handful of crap they had swept off the shop floor and decided I was a dumb girl who wouldn't know the difference. Then he proceeded to say, "we normally charge $10 per hole, but this time I can charge you just $10 for everything." I let hm patch my tire, then I vowed to never return for the b.s. jargon I received for my $10.

Love the guys up front, right when I got inside the door I was asked what I needed help with!

S H O C K E D to see a negative review. I have had a TON of stuff done by The Big Johns Guys and loved it all. I send everyone I know there and will continue to.
They are knowledgeable and fair. They treat everyone with class and dignity. I take my 4 and 8 year old daughters there and even my kids get excited to go. I can send my wife and knownshe won't be ripped off and treated fairly.

Ahhhh ...They are teddy bears. So wonderful... I really LUV these guys.
I didnt have an appt. I just went there at my lunch break. They fixed my headlight and pointed out that my windshield wiper was torn... something I knew already but had forgotten to mention to them. They fixed that too.

They might not be able to do everything on my car but their staff is friendly and awesome, prices are fair, and their quality of work is top notch.I don't expect them to be able to do alignments on my car since it can't get onto the rack but I wouldn't hesitate to take my car to them for anything else.

Overall price was much less than i had anticipated. Knowledgeable "family owned local" staff made it a pleasure to do business with.

I first learned about Big John's when I blew out a tire and needed a quick repair or replacement. I threw on my donut tire and rolled over there. They couldn't fix the flat (the entire side of the tire had been gashed open) but they replaced it with a quality tire at a reasonable price and I was on the road within 15 minutes. I was impressed with the turn around time and they were really laid back and nice as well.
Since that first flat I've had a few others and John's staff has always been johnny on the spot (no pun intended) with a quick turn around. When it came time to replace the entire set I went back and they hooked me up at a reasonable price and again, turned me around and got me out the door in no more than a half hour.
I highly recommend these guys. They remind me of that hardware store that you would visit with your Dad when you were a kid and the Owner or Manager would chat up all the regulars and even the new faces. Very service oriented and efficient.

My husband and I had a HORRIBLE experience with Big John's today! They clearly do NOT value their long time, LOYAL customers- or understand the adage that the customer is always right! First of all think twice about buying tires from a store where the owner John and his son do NOT offer extended warranty insurance on their tires because they "don't believe in it"! WTH? If I had known this we would not have bought 4 VERY pricey Bridgestone's there! We had a blow out on one of my NEW tires 2 days ago, and the sidewall was damaged. We had to buy another NEW pricey tire due to their BS lack of extended warranty, as tire couldn't be repaired! In fairness, they did give us a discount- but the Son was very rude/arrogant to me on the phone, after I had been on a LONG hold! Grrr! Then the Son told me that my Hubs had told him a completely DIFFERENT story about what happened to the tire, and when I corrected him with the TRUTH he gave me a major attitude! Seriously? We will NEVER spend another penny at Big John's, and I seriously advise you to find another tire store that DOES offer extended warranties on their tires, and treats you with courtesy and respect!

My 6 month old car was losing air rapidly in my rear run flat so I took her into the dealer to check if I had a puncture. I had a slender nail on the right side of the tread and it was suggested I buy a brand new $300 replacement....lol. The tech whispered Big Johns Performance and I booked it over there. They were so friendly, attended to me immediately and had my flat fixed no problem for a hell of a lot less than 3 big ones. They also got me contact info for wrapping, were super friendly, well priced & had a big selection of cars they were working on. I'm so glad I found them. As I got there a father and his little girl were leaving - Big Johns had gone so far as to have Nick Jr. playing on the big tv for her. That's some customer service! This is how businesses should be run. I will refer anyone I know over here. Thanks again you guys!

I had a blow-out on the freeway yesterday and returned to Big John's today for them to replace my "wheel donut" with a real tire. I have been coming to this great family run business for 15 years, and just want to brag on their customer service and professional attitude. I don't even think they remember me, and I have had several different people help me over the years. Regardless of who you are or how long your service relationship, I think they treat you, "the customer," so very well. I never thought a blow-out could be a positive experience, but upon leaving this incredible establishment, I felt so well treated that the flat tire seemed insignificant. I will always recommend Big John's and just wish there were more places with such commitment to great customer service and "good old fashioned kindness" and personal attention! These guys never fail to treat me well. I brought in my fairly new vehicle to get the tires rotated. These are stock tires, but they told me it would be no charge (normally $15) because we've brought them so much business. Thanks again guys - I will continue to recommend you to everyone.

After reading Mike A's review about America's Tire, i quickly called the number to Big John's that Mike conveniently posted,lol. I spoke to Josh, he was sooooo helpful. I needed two front run flat tires for my BMW. Dealer wanted $900, America's Tire $660, BIG JOHN'S $250, mounted, balanced, installed, tax included!!!!! I will NEVER go anywhere else. Thank you!!!

I went to Big John's after searching yelp and asking around for a knowledgeable tire shop to mount some tires I ordered online.
Everything was good until I did a walk around on my M3, to find that they cosmetically damaged two of my expensive aftermarket wheels! Three guys who seemed to run the place checked the wheels out, first saying I'd curbed them (obviously not the case) and then steadfastly insisting such damage could not have happened at their shop, despite me explaining that I'd inspected the wheels just before driving over.
I made what I considered a very reasonable offer: that they split the wheel repair cost with me, and they flatly turned me down. I won't be going back to these guys, their workmen are no better than big chain suppliers and their customer service is far worse.

I bring all my cars here for my family. They always do the right thing and I am secure all was done properly when I leave. Today, I thought I needed brakes and a new battery. They checked it out, no need at this time to replace anything, and gave it back to me, no charge. I love this place. Rare find nowadays! Thank you.

Saw a sign for $29.99 + Cert. Which was the cheapest in the area. Went there a long time ago, the parking lot of the SC Car Wash is waaay too crowded but the shop which is in the back was nice.

This place rendered great quality customer service and way better than I have had at other smog places in other areas.. Highly recommended!! By the way while other smog test centers are fleece you with charges in excess of $80 these guys charged very nominal. Smog test including the certification was only $40.00.....

Quick Smog Check
