So glad I found these guys. My old shop just up n closed, then my timing rod went out on my 01 Civic. These guys had the best price and close to home. Bill at the front desk was super helpful. Dropped my car off Monday without an apointment, and it was ready on Wednesday. $200 less than I'd been quoted by my old garage pluss an oil change and tune up. I'll be going back for sure, but hopefully not before my next 5000 miles.

Though I would have loved to thank Bill in person, my schedule prevented me from coming by during business hours. But they still got my car fixed up and ready to go!

Great Place To Get Your Vehicle SMOG Check For my 2005 Toyota Corolla. I were in and out around 20 minutes for total amount: $43.00 as most of them do charged around $55.00 to $58.00. I know, no one is perfect. Only when they screwed up, as their customer take their vehicle without any argument. They will admit, to , their fault, they will get on it as quickly as possible. They are totally honest and family owned and operated by USA born citizen without any accent. I totally recommended Car Care Center to any public, whom looking for vehicles repair.

I took my car at car care center, and they are always extremely friendly and honest. Bill was kind enough to take out a diagram and show me exactly what was going on with my car. I have this weird sound that happens on a cold start and was stressing since it seemed like a major engine issue of replacing the camshaft (looking at a couple thousand to fix).
Also since I don't know anything about car except that you need an oil change at every 3,000 miles, this place is great because they take the time in explaining the problem to you.
They replaced the tensioner (tension chain?) and it made a sound again upon start up after sitting 2.5 days. After having a massive blood pressure spike, they told me to bring it in again so they could observe it again under a cold start and see what else they could do. Giving my car to them really brings me a sense of relief (unlike going to the toyota dealership who will probably just tell me to replace the whole dang engine), since they really try to diagnose the issue. Car is under observation at the moment but so far, not making that sound. I just feel better having gone to them and seeing the extensive work they do, knowing they go ABOVE AND BEYOND in trying to find the underlying problem.
Anyway, do you want your car in trusted hands and having the necessary services done well? Come to this place. Do you want to overpay for services you don't need? Go to the toyota dealership. I am recommending this center to everyone who has a toyota, and loves their car like a mother loves their 10 year old child (well my car is 10 years old).
Thanks Bill and Duke + car care mechanics! You guys are my car doctors/heroes!

I have been going to Car Care Center for over 15 years and can't believe that I hadn't written a review yet. I love this place! I'd had some horrible experiences with other mechanics and originally found CCC through their great BBB rating. Bill, Duke and staff are fantastic.They are honest about when something needs to be fixed and when it can wait or when a refurbished part might work well (and save you some money). I had one situation where some (finicky Prius) headlights they'd put in gave me some trouble and they replaced them for free with no fuss. The shop is clean, they'll give me a ride back to work and pick me up when the car is ready. Everyone there is super nice - just a good, local, family-run business.

I've been going to Car Care Center for a year or two now. I've taken my car to them for oil changes, and I've taken it to them for bigger things, like having the clutch replaced . . . and I have nothing but positive things to say about this business.
Everyone I've encountered at Car Care Center has integrity and are positive; repairs are reasonably priced; and the owners/employees are professional, and good at what they do.
I can't remember what initially brought me to this shop, but what I DO remember is how I felt while I was there: Bill and Duke are nice, honest guys who took the time to explain everything to me. The gentleman who gave me a ride home was personable. Basically, if anyone could make the hassle of a car repair less painful, it is the group of individuals working at Car Care Center. I left feeling positive and appreciating the honesty and integrity with which EVERYONE I encountered treated me (and my car was running better than ever).
I don't know much about cars, so when I hear something I don't understand I run it by my dad for a reality check. When I told him the information that was shared with me (Bill explained the problem quite thoroughly) and the possible remedies, my dad had nothing to say but "this sounds like an honest shop" (he'd never said that to me before).
In all the interactions I've had I can say that has proven to be true, and if you are looking for someone who will take care of your car and do so with authentic care, I suggest you consider Car Care Center. You won't find a better place!

I bought a pretty beat up used truck in Sacramento and got a little worried that it was going to turn into a money pit. I wanted to at least know that it was safe to drive back and forth to Santa Cruz (where I'm moving in a week). I took it in for a full inspection and oil change (Total=$160). It wasn't the cheapest (I think their hourly rate for their mechanics is $120 as opposed to 95 or 100 for some other places) but I definitely got some piece of mind.
Bill was very nice and professional up at the front. He came to find me half way through to let me know the whining that I'd been hearing was the power steering pump that ford had put in a bunch of trucks and that it probably wasn't worth replacing because it would be expensive and might keep whining. In the end they told me the truck was in relatively decent condition and most of the dings were cosmetic but I didn't have to worry about it stranding me on the freeway.
Now I'm a bit handy around the house but when it comes to cars beyond the fluids, he really could have told me that I was missing a hyperspace modulator and that I needed to fly down the death star to get a new one. I would have had to believe him but it was nice how upfront and honest they seemed. They've won a bunch of industry and independent awards for satisfied customers and honesty which I would definitely agree with. To me that was well worth the higher hourly pricetag.
Another plus is that there is a nice little waiting room with a clean bathroom and free wifi so you can get some stuff done while you wait. If need to walk around then there's a target across the street.
All in all I generally hate going to mechanics (just like everyone else) but I'm pretty happy I took my truck in.

Very friendly atmosphere, great customer service. Bill helped me get started and took care of my Groupon. The waiting area was clean and relaxed. They also have free hot coffee available in the waiting area for waiters. I waited about an hour for an oil change and 45 point inspection to be completed. Afterwards, Bill went over the inspections with me and off I go. Just in case anyone is wondering the oil change and 45 point inspection is $45.00 and they do an excellent job.
This was the first oil change place I have been to that I was able to book an appointment online. There was a conflict in the time I booked so Lynne (Bill's wife) actually called me to reschedule. After we came to an agreement for a time that works for me she immediately emailed me a reminder. After my oil change, I also received a thank you note. They have great follow-through with their customers and I appreciate that.

My service took a bit longer than normal, but am I happy it did! My car is running so smoothly after the oil change and 45-point inspection. I really felt they did a thorough job, rather than just quickly getting through my car. They let me know of things I should look out for in the upcoming future i.e. wipers, tire rotation...
I also like that they have an online tracker that keeps your records and history. The customer service was great, too! Will definitely be going back.

Took the wife's car in for an oil change that we got off of Groupon. Mine goes in next week. The employees were very friendly and, according to all the articles and certificates posted on their walls, they are very knowledgeable. I can believe them now that we got her car back and they only thing they mentioned that needed to be fixed were the obviously bald tires. They didn't try to up sale anything, which was surprising. If you are in the need of more repairs than you have in the ol' bank account they do have an option of getting a loan through one of the banks (Wells Fargo?). If you plan on going make sure you pay attention to where you are. Their shop is hidden and the street it's on is one of those block long dead end types of streets that sits between two major streets. I will know by next week if I would recommend them.
***UPDATE***
Took my truck in to have it's oil changed and had the same level of service as with my wife's car. In fact...the gentleman recognized me and my daughter right off the bat and called my by my first name. WOW! After the service was performed I asked if there was anything in particular that I should be worried about. I was told everything was fine but was wearing down at the expected rate and to watch the normal stuff like the breaks squealing, ride getting bumpier, etc. It was also mentioned that my ABS light was on (which has been on since I bought it used a couple of years ago) but not to worry about it since this make and model has a tendency to do that for no apparent reason. I a;ready knew this too, but it was nice to get it confirmed without me asking specifically about it. I have since changed my rating from a 4 star to a 5 star. I highly recommend this place for you future automotive needs!!

Getting my oil changed is a very stressful process. I usually drive to elk grove, where I bought my car, and sit there while they continually try to get me to replace stuff in my car. Well, when I saw a groupon for this place (10 min drive from my house), and the killer reviews it has on yelp, I was sold.
Hours: I have to mention the hours because for someone who doesn't work 9-5 it is great. They open at 7:30 and start taking appointments at 8:00am, which allows me to get my oil changed AND work all day.
Service: A gentleman helped me and was very nice and efficient. My brakes had been squeaking and I asked my bf what it meant. He said you probably have to change the brake pads. I told the guy about the brakes and when I was all done he told me my brakes and tires are all still fine. A lesser man would have told me that yes, I needed them changed, and offer to change them for me for an exorbitant fee.
Overall: I had a great experience with this place, and hope this can become my new car place.

Why is their score so high, because they are that good. Possibly because they're not on the front street and so are able to get a great lease on their property - therefore able to keep their prices down.
I was going to some Firestone places in town for a long time now - they were great too! I did a search for a few repairs, found Car Care Center and decided to give it a try - no looking back either. Cheaper, Better, Quicker, and probably a few other adjectives I'm forgetting to mention.
You won't regret hiring them.

I was very impressed at the service I got here. Long story short, when I moved a few months ago I updated my address with everyone except the DMV. Oopsie! :) So I got the notice that my registration literally would expire in 24 hours AND I needed a smog.
I found CCC on Yelp and called them up, inquiring about the Yelp Special. Bill was totally nice on the phone and really accommodating. I got my car in there same day and Bill totally took care of me. The wait was minimal; I think I was out in about 25 minutes. I got a price break from the Yelp special. The facility is pretty cozy too. Nice little waiting room where I could read Breaking Dawn and kick my husband's butt on Words With Friends while I waited. Even the restroom is carpeted. :)
I'm rambling....just check this place out. You'll be pleased!

I will be taking my car to CCC for smog as long as I live in Sacramento. I work at the complex adjacent to CCC, so I can drop my car off and walk back through the parking lot to work, which is awesome. I'm impatient and don't like waiting around for services to be performed - especially ANY that have to do with my car.
Bill is awesome up front. I had accidentally left my music too loud, and when he jumped into the driver's seat to check whatever he needed to check and turned the key, a sound grenade went off in each of his ears. He exited the car and exclaimed, "It's really a lot louder when it's parked, huh? No road noise..." with a huge smile on his face. I lol'd and my embarrassment was gone.
The service was quick, and Bill was able to get my smog in to the DMV before my deadline that was 12 hours away. The price was about right with the Yelp special, and excellent people to deal with.

Car Care Center and its owners do a fabulous job. Just wish they were closer to were I live. They use cutting-edge diagnostic tools to quickly cut to the root cause(s) of problems. All their mechanics are certified, and their certs are hanging in the customer area to see. They also do a 45-point inspection, so possible problems aren't missed, but instead nipped in the bud. Their hours are great. Their customer service is excellent too. If I owened or managed a garage, I would model it after this garage!!!

Car Care Center is a different kind of auto repair shop. The inside is clean with a seperate bathroom for customers only. The waiting room decoration is dated but warm and conformatable. Unlike most places where you sit in a cold tiled echo chamber with a television that gets one station, Car Care Center has a balanced view of a customer and doesn't see them simply as a number.
Car Care Center understands people. They know when you take a car for a repair, you don't want to have to come back to repair the repair. They believe an estimate should reflect the actual costs and you should not be surprised with the words "we found something else thats part of the problem."
Cleanliness, informative, fairly priced, honest, accurate and good old fashioned friendliness is why I continue to return. Sure, there have been other places with "lower" estimates. But ninety-percent of the time those "lower" estimates cost more because of "something else they found" while under your hood.
At one time on the front counter, a popular book titled "What Car Repair Shops Don't Want You to Know" was available right their in the shop. I don't know if the book is still in print. But any car repair place that would sell a book with that title over their counter is saying a lot about how much they care about their customers.
Last word. If you're in need of other services related to your car that they don't provide, be sure to ask Bill or Duke. They will only reccommend people who they themselves would trust.

First of all, I've read all of the Yelp review guidelines, as well as all of the customer reviews regarding Car Care Center. My years prior, bad experience with this business, along with the fact that the majority of the reviews are regarding the cleanliness of the waiting area, and customers being satisfied with oil changes being done properly, have compelled me to let the public know how this business is when it performs more substantial automotive repair work (and more relevant issues). In defense of Car Care Center, it's been many years since my initial visit, and maybe they have improved.Okay, I was told by a friend that this business was much more expensive than other repair places, but that they were worth it because of their top-notch service and good experiences by my friend and his family members. I had a problem where my vehicle wouldn't start, which they did, in fact, analyze and repair. However, within a day, my vehicle was constantly dying out, and I was not too happy to say the least, especially after having spent hundreds of dollars, mostly in labor (one part was defective) and they give my wife and me the "OK" that everything is in order?!! So I talk to the owner on the phone, and he yells at me for telling him I'm not satisfied with the fact that my vehicle isn't running right?? I stayed calm and polite, and then he continues to concoct a story that my wife had been in his office "in tears" as he put it? In tears?? Over what, that our vehicle wasn't running right? My wife laughed when I told her what he had said about her supposed "crying". So not only did he not fix our vehicle properly, he thought it was perfectly okay to make up a flat-out, personal slam and lie against my wife. So, we arrive to pick up our vehicle, and his two sons (employees) give me a hard stare, which I thought was totally unnecessary. considering their boss was the one who got on my case aggressively, in the first place. We got our vehicle and left, and everybody got to hear how poorly things went..my friend never went back either, but I think some of his family members still did. My friend had also told me that the owner had a temper, after I told him my experience...how did he know this, unless he had dealt with the owner's nonsense, too? In summary, they are extremely over-priced and are no better at analyzing than any other shop. I believe they are good at simple jobs, like the other reviewers have stated, like oil changes, simple maintenance (30,000 mile services, starter and alternator swaps), but regarding the horrible customer service I received there really is no point in patronizing this business.

Got this place confused with another smog check place reviewed on Yelp but decided to give them a try because they said I would be in and out in 15min. which I was.
A bit pricey compared with other places - this whole smog thing is racket imposed upon us by the state.
They do have a nice waiting room, very neat and clean shop (like a dealership service) and I will try them for repairs or maintainance in the future in which case I think their prices may be more in line with other competitors that I like (honest engine, autostatt etc)

Just picked our car up and couldn't be more pleased! This is the second time CCC has worked on our car for two different issues and both times we were treated respectfully and like family. Everyone is friendly and they keep you up to date on the progress of your repairs. Nice people but overly priced. I failed smog check and car care center was going to charge me $1500 to pass smog for me. Luckily, that price was ridiculous enough for me get a second opinion. I went to Prestige Automotive in South Sac and they cut that price in half. I'm so glad that I got a second opinion. People, please get a second opinion for all of your car fixing needs especially if the cost is ridiculous. I would recommend you check out Prestige Automotive on Yelp and see what other people are saying about their quality and affordable service. They are a true 5 star automotive repair shop in all respects.

I'll admit it. At first I was very upset that my car would take longer than I had hoped for repairs, and my expeirence with Car Care Center got off to a bad start when I felt completely helpless, with my vehicle disassembled and the mechanics unable to put it back together (i.e., I had driven it in there, so what do you mean it's too damaged for me to drive it back out should I choose to do so?) But, Bill and crew went above and beyond making sure I had my car by the next evening and even waited after hours for me to come pick her up. So, everything they say about CCC's customer service is absolutely true. Thanks for making my old car better and thanks for the extra effort you put in to get her back to me as quickly as possible. I appreciate it.

I had originally wrote a review on this place and wasn't much of a fan because of the outstanding costs of the service. This was about 3 years ago. After the review had posted, I stopped being consistent with my reviews. I just now logged on today and seen a message form the owner, Bill's wife, Lynne.
She sent me a message regarding my review and wanted to make things right basically. I appreciated the fact that she went the extra mile to give me options. I no longer have the car I brought in to them any longer, which I might add I ended up getting rid of it about a year later due to all the heart ache and problems that came with a salvaged vehicle.
I change my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. I can't give it 5 stars because I haven't been to this place in 3 years, but I'm sure looking at the rest of the reviews, you can see that this place is a respectable and good place to go to.
Like I mentioned before about the service being an A+, I doubt that they changed that and I felt I needed to rewrite the review because the service was absolutely great.

I am new to the Sacramento area and didn't have high hopes for customer service in this area. When I realized I needed the 30,000 mile maintenance on my vehicle I wondered how I would find a place that wouldn't nickel and dime me and still provide quality service. Keep in mind that friendly was optional, not a requirement. I found the Car Care Center when I googled AAA Car Care. I have been an AAA member for years and had grown to trust their approved car care vendors. Upon my arrival, Bill greeted me with a smile and provided me with a detailed list of what my service entailed. I was told it would be about 2 hours total, which I didn't mind given the type of service I requested. To my surprise, they finished in one and a half hours. I got a whole 30 minutes of my day back. If you want quality service with a smile, this is the place to go!! I won't look at sacramento the same again. Bill was truly a gem!

They gave me an estimate on my car because it didn't pass smog. I can say that it was way pricier than I expected. When I asked if I had to fix all of the things they recommended, the old guy in the front smirked at me and said that it wouldn't pass smog without all of there recommendations. I'm glad that I got a second opinion bc it saved me half of what CCC estimated and I didn't have to fix nearly as many things that CCC recommended me to fix, and I pass smog!

Had my work van towed there, a few days later they told me my cam shaft was broke, quoted 5600.00 to replace engine. I had it towed to another shop, found out all that was wrong was the cap/rotor. Cap had a short on it. I'm self employed and could report to the BAR ,but I have too many responsibilities and vary little time to deal with it. They already cost me time and money. I brought my car to Car Care Center to diagnose my check engine light. The staff not only identified the cause for my check engine light, but in addition, they took pictures to show how my catalytic converter was improperly installed (the cause for why my check engine light was glowing on my dashboard), wrote a thorough explanation on my behalf to explain the improper installation (in the event I may need documentation for legal retribution), and provided handouts that further explained that the part was installed incorrectly and not correct for my vehicle. Great customer service!

Car Care Center is the epitome of the top of the line car repair center. Car Care Center is a unique family owned business. The service is excellent; the mechanics attend regular training seminars in order to stay up to date on the ever evolving automobile systems. The shop and waiting area are meticulously clean and organized, and the owners Bill and Lynne Cardwell provide a friendly and courteous environment in which customers feel welcome. My car has always been repaired, or maintenance performed, on time and without the need to bring my vehicle back for some new problem that mysteriously cropped up after being repaired at one of the many previous repair stations I have been to in a thirty year period of time. I am very grateful to Bill and Lynne for operating the unquestioned best repair center I have had the privilege of taking my car to.
