We have taken our Subaru Forester here for a new timing belt, and the service was done in one day , everything runs perfectly, and now our BMW 330i for a check engine light problem that was keeping us from passing smog. Jay figured out the problem and the nightmare is over!!! I highly recommend Poets to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgable garage.

I needed to replace a broken glass of my side mirror. I ordered the mirror online and brought it to this center. Jay seemed to be a nice guy. He said it took about $20-$30 and around 15 mins to get the job done. It sounded reasonable. So a week later I came. Another guy (Jay was not in the store) replaced the glass for me and charged me $45 for 30 mins. I didn't say much and agreed because I was in a hurry. HOWEVER, when I gave the guy $100 bill because he said using cash is cheaper, he took the money and suddenly gave me $50 back, saying "I don't have change, how about $50?". I made protest. Finally he said "Oh I do have change" and gave me anther $5.
I only tell the fact and you choose your opinion. Here is the short version: I was charged $45 for replacing the glass of the side mirror and was almost charged $5 more because they don't have change.

If there is such a thing as an honest mechanic, it is Jay, the owner of Poet's corner. I have an F150 pickup and my son is getting ready to drive it from the bay area across the desert to Arizona. I wanted it to be safe, which means fix everything and bill me up the wazoo. Jay, did what was necessary and told me that there were some things that could wait including hoses that were in good shape and a major flush of the radiator because the coolant looked clean. He fixed the truck in the time he promised and for the price he quoted. He has my business for life. Great guy, knowledgeable and fair prices. Can't go wrong with Poet's corner. Tom - Concord Ca.

I found Poets Corner Service Center through the NextDoor Neighbor App. Thankfully Jay was notified of my post regarding my faulty fuel pump and responded within minutes. We met later that day and I immediately knew that this was the right shop. The tow truck driver knew about Poets Corner Service Center and said sorry about the truck but at least your in good hands. The next day Jay called with an update and we talked again later that afternoon. He explained clearly what the problem was and shared that the repair would be minor. He picked me up with at my home with my and I was very happy with what the cost of repair. It's great to have my truck back and even better to know that I have someone down the road that is honest and reasonable, Thanks Jay.

This business has changed hands several times but this was my first time going there as Poet's Corner. What an improvement from before. The owner is extremely well informed, diagnosed a problem two different tow companies couldn't figure out, and repaired it in a day. Amazingly when I picked it up the charge was less than the estimate! When does that ever happen. this was a weird one - car wouldn't start, two AAA guys couldn't start it so it had to be towed and fortunately I live right down the street. when he called with diagnosis and estimate it was a seized alternator, so it couldn't turn the motor. A belt and one other part needed replacing. he even knew "you see this in east coast cars" because of winters, etc and I had just bought this from my sister where it spent several winters in Baltimore and many trips to upstate NY. Like the other reviewer said "Go there!"

I was reluctant to take my car here because of the lack of reviews, but I live a block away so I just went with it. I called ahead of time and Jay was really nice and clearly explained things to me. Then, when I brought my car in, he ended up doing some research to find what would best suit my car's unique need. He was really straightforward and quick to get my car back to me. Will definitely go back again!

Poet's Corner Service Center was wonderful! They explained everything thoroughly, didn't pressure me, and got the work done promptly and perfectly! Customer service and honesty are very important to them because they are located in a nice quiet neighborhood. They will definitely be our auto repair place going forward. I am so happy that I found them.

I've had them do a couple oil changes and replace my shot shocks. Their prices are good and they even honored a yelp coupon they didn't realize was still there (and not in a manipulative Midas sort of way either). Honest and straightforward. Go there.
