Brought my car in this morning because I had been hearing my brakes squealing for about 2 weeks now. I asked them to replace the brake pads as I thought that was the problem. After their free diagnostic, they found that my brake pads were still in great condition and let me know I didn't need the work done. They weren't able to find the culprit making the sound but told me to come back if it still causes problems. Point being, they could've easily had me pay for unnecessary parts and labor, but didn't. Honest, nice guys, and I'll definitely be back for any future problems.
Also, after they put my tires back on and I drove off the lot, my car hasn't been making the screeching anymore. Magic? Maybe. Go to these guys and they'll do their best to help.

Two stars because the work I did have them do for me was done fine. I brought in my 2007 Ford Focus to have my door handle and driver's side mirror replaced. All was well there, and I liked my experience enough to come back a couple days later (today) to see if they could do 60,000 mile maintenance.
They asked me to drop off the vehicle so they could inspect it and give a quote for the maintenance. I got a call 2 hours later where I was advised that they didn't find anything problematic during the inspection (awesome!) but that the maintenance would require a full fluid flush of every fluid in the vehicle with a total cost of over $900. This sounded wrong, so I went to Ford's website and, sure enough, that is definitely not standard for 60,000 mile maintenance. I took the vehicle to another shop who confirmed my suspicions and told me the maintenance would be around $200.
I am left with two possible conclusions to draw from this. Either the mechanic at FixCarNow was incompetent and did not correctly determine what maintenance was required for a very common vehicle model that he must've serviced dozens of times, or he knew that the maintenance did not require flushing all of the fluids and was trying to gouge me for unnecessary service. I considered confronting them about this when I went to pick up the vehicle but figured I wouldn't want them doing the work regardless of which one it was, so I didn't bother.
Definitely shop around after they give you a quote, especially for maintenance-related tasks.

If this review were just for service, it would be a 5 star. Were it for price alone, it would be 2.5 stars.
They are very nice and competent. The work they did on my car is excellent. The staff communicates very well, and let's you know everything up front. Excellent service.
Unfortunately they are a bit pricier than other mechanics in the area. Of which there are several. $129 for an alignment is a bit high (received several other estimates and most were $90-$110). $110 a piece for standard tires... a little high but not unheard of. $189 for new spark plugs... is a bit high given that most other mechanics will charge $140-$160 for this.
I'm very happy with the service, they were very professional, and I also ended up paying about $60-$75 more than average for the work.

I have a Ford Escape under full warranty but ford Santa Monica said they had to charge me $400 for something that wasn't under my warranty. David at Fix it Now only charge me $50 for the repair needed. It was a great experience and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. I will be coming back the next time something isn't covered by my warranty. Thank you

Came in for an oil change Saturday morning, Jimmy at the front was really easy to talk to. He was welcoming and we were able to get right to business while having a friendly demeanor. He gave me a time frame for the work to be finished (about an hour and twenty minutes) and he ended up being right on time if not early.
What I really appreciated was the care and how transparent these guys were. They gave my car the 30 point inspection and didn't take advantage, they gave me what I would think is an accurate description of the state of my car. The last place I went to diagnosed a myriad of issues with my car, most of which were minor.
Overall, these guys seem trustworthy. They did an excellent job in a timely manner and customer service was great.

Let me first preface this review by saying that I did not end up getting any work done here and the reason is part of why I'm writing this two star review.
I messaged this shop a month ago on Yelp for a quote for a front bumper repair. Chance, one of the owners was very friendly in his quick reply and said come in any day before 5. I had a day off today and decided to stop by. Chance wasn't there, which is fine but Marciano was in the front office and was very quick to help me. I showed him what I wanted fixed (front bumper with one side slightly misaligned) and asked him for a rough estimate/quote range.
Here's where the two star rating comes in, he see's what I'm talking about and says that it could be a number of things and just to give a proper estimate I'd have to pay around $150 just for them to take off the bumper to check. What?!?! I'm not a business owner and have only limited car mechanic experience but I feel if your business claims to offer free estimates then I should be able to get a free estimate without you having to charge me $150 min, just to look and give me my estimate.
I have no doubt that the guys at this shop are nice people and probably do good work but I really don't understand how you can advertise free estimates and then when someone comes in say that it's going to start at $150 just to get the real estimate. It seems like you guys should start advertising something proper like, "Free estimates available* if damage is fully/only surface level."
Just my opinion gents. I mean no disrespect by this review I will just have to take my business elsewhere as I don't want to have to spend the $150 just to be told that I need to spend $2000.

Brought my ML350 (idler pulley and tensioner belt replacement) and E350 (Service D) in to this shop. I was quoted $489 for the ML. The ordered part (not direct from Mercedes) didn't fit quite right, so they ordered the part directly and let me know it would be finished the next morning, as they had to wait for the part to be delivered. Still kept to their original quote of $489!
I was quoted $350 for the E. After a diagnostic on the E, got a call that the car only needed an oil and filter change. Everything else was "clean". Unbeknownst to them, I had the ball joints and controller replaced a few months earlier, as well as the shocks and struts. I could've easily been charged the $350 and wouldn't be the wiser. Instead, my bill was $130.
If you want honest, dependable, friendly service, THIS is the place to go!

I've been coming here for 6 years and have never had a poor experience. They're reliable, work quickly, and have fair prices. The staff is very friendly as well. Whenever I need to keep my car in for a longer period of time, they're usually able to arrange a loaner car if I call in ahead of time. In the past, when my car had an issue that came back after I brought it in, they didn't charge me for the original attempted repair. Will definitely keep coming back, this is a great local shop.

First, CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are professional, polite, and very forthcoming with what they are going to do an how much it will cost. (I saw them deal with an unreasonably irate customer and they SINCERELY apologized. It diffused the situation nicely and made ME feel better.)
I loved getting the texts telling me how the repairs on my car we're going.
Another extra is the call center for when they are not open, so you can leave a message and they'll call you back.
Finally, they had my car done BEFORE the time they said and it looked great.

Admittedly, I don't know much about cars: I've only had two cars since I was 16 and have never had serious problems with either of them (except for the time my first car broke down for good, but that's beside the point). That being said, whenever anything goes wrong with my car, I always go to FixCarNow. The owner, Chance, is very friendly and easy to work with, and the service is done well, finished quickly, and relatively inexpensive.
My first time coming here was after my car got hit when I was parked on the street outside of my apartment. I came in on a Saturday for an estimate (because they're open 7 days a week and I'm a working man) and I was there for about five minutes as Chase took pictures and got my contact information. He said he would have an estimate to me within a day and that we could set up an appointment to get it fixed then. When I received the estimate, I was stoked because it was much cheaper than anywhere else in the area. The work was done within a few days and I was good to go!
They've also took care of some smaller issues with my car throughout the past two years and I've always been pleased with their work. Everyone who I have talked to there has been friendly and attentive. Also, the fact that they're open 7 days a week is so clutch. I would definitely recommend FixCarNow!

I've been living in the neighborhood for a year and FixCarNow is my go-to place. Jimmy makes sure he understands your needs and then he goes over and above the call of duty to deliver.
Example: Normally, I don't use my car a lot, and so I let Jimmy know there is no rush. I know he has a lot of customers who sometimes have pressing schedules. But the weekend before Thanksgiving, I had a road trip planned for Red Rocks outside Vegas. The trip had been planned for over a month, and then the "Needs Maintenance" light came on the morning before the trip. It turned out to be a combination of alignment, steering column, and engine block mounts. Jimmy got all the work done (4 hours of labor) and my car back by the end of the day.
Jimmy is extra scrupulous about costs, letting you know things in advance, and managing little problems instead of gratuitously replacing stuff. He makes sure you know that keeping you safe is his top priority, and protecting your wallet is his next priority. Just a really good guy. I trust Jimmy, and I hope you'll give him a chance. I will definitely be bringing my car to Jimmy even when I move away from this neighborhood -- a good car guy is irreplacable, and Jimmy is a *great* car guy.

I took my car to Fix Car Now to get new brakes for my 16 year old Corolla. I was almost 100% certain that I needed both front and rear brakes. I also knew that I might have waited too long to get them fixed. I was prepared to pay for a lot of really expensive work. I told them all this so it would have been a perfect opportunity for them to oversell me. Additionally, My car had been dragging at intersections...but I didn't say anything about that although I should have since it was a safety issue.
I am happy to say that Jimmy was totally honest and informed me that I only needed the rear brakes done and that my spark plug and valve cover gasket needed to be replaced and the area cleaned. I realized that this was probably what was causing the potential stalling at the intersections. I had this issue about 6 years ago too and it cost me more than $500 to fix.
I dropped my car off the night before to get an early start. I had a call from Jimmy by 7:45 am with the above prognosis. My car was ready by 2 pm that day and I paid half of what I paid 6 years ago for the gasket valve and spark plug service. I drove straight to Best Buy and bought a much needed new lap top with the money I saved.
Jimmy was kind enough to keep the shop open later to drop off the car the night before. He really went above and beyond. I live close by so I was able to walk home.
I was so pleased that I went back to get my smog checked which was easy and convenient too. I highly recommend this place.

So pleased with these guys. I took my VW Bug there last week and explained the issue, they said they would check it out and call me right away with the diagnosis. They didn't charge me anything until they let me know what the problem was. I dropped it off in the morning, they drove me to work, which was so helpful, and then called me later that day to let me know the issues. The car was ready the following evening but due to my hectic schedule I wasn't able to pick it up until the weekend. They were so nice, and accommodating and let me leave the car there until I was able to get it. I didn't feel taken advantage of or anything.
I don't know anything about cars and my dad lives in Washington state, Jimmy told me to have my dad call him and he would be happy to explain everything to him. I felt very comfortable there and really love also that they are open on weekends for any future issues that may fall on the most inopportune moment- a weekend.
I totally trust these guys and will definitely be taking my Bug there for any future issues. I live in Los Feliz, but am so thankful to these guys that I will drive there in the future for sure!!

Bottom Line: Friendly, thorough, and accommodating.
I got my oil changed at a drive-through style business. They told me that I had a severe oil leak, but weren't able to determine where it was.
It was a Sunday, so everywhere was closed except for FixCarNow, which was a blessing. While they were doing a diagnosis on my car, I spent the time at the coffee shop next door, which was quite good.
FixCarNow told me that there wasn't a leak at all, and they kindly showed my how clean my engine was, and did not rush doing so, despite the influx of customers at that time.
Despite the longer drive, I will probably come here rather than my usual car shop.

I've been coming here for 2 years with my trusty Nissan Sentra 1996. These guys are knowledgable, honest, and really treat their customers with care. They know I don't want to spend much on maintaining an old car so they always provide options for what's best for both the customer and car - Sometimes I buy parts on my own online and they'll do the installation for me. I know a lot of shops would not do that! The wait at the shop is normal and I don't mind being there - the interior is a Shepard Fairey/motor fan dream.

Friendly, courteous and understanding FIx Car Now is the ultimate in car repair. For the past 9 years they have worked on my 2 BMW's and my classic 1968 Cadillac DeVille. Unlike most dealers and mechanics, Jimmy & Chance (the owners) understand that we aren't all made of money and will work hard to make sure that you get a Grade-A repair at a cost that won't leave your wallet empty. Been here twice for basic service and I probably won't be back as there are other shops in the area with better basic service. They did a great job running a diagnostic and identifying other mechanical issues with my car. However, I went here a few days ago for an oil change, brought my car in at 9:30 on a Saturday and they told me "a couple hours." Two hours later my car hadn't moved and it was "almost ready" to be serviced. I've brought my car into other shops and comparable times and hadn't have to wait more than an hour. Waste of two hours. Look elsewhere for basic service

The only reason I am giving FixCarNow 3 stars instead of 2 is because I think the owner realized how horribly they were trying to take advantage of my zero knowledge of cars and as a result of that, let me go without charging me. They also gave me a loaner car for a day which was cool, but unnecessary which I would later find out.
My car started to squeak on my passenger side one day. The next day I felt some weirdness underneath my feet. The 3rd day my breaks had almost no resistance. FixCarNow was open on a Sunday and I read the great reviews and despite my father's insistence that I go to his guys, I went ahead and got my car diagnosed here.
They wanted to charge me $400 to replace my break and rotors (even I know they are overcharging me by at least $200 for this), replace the wheel hub assembly ($450), and add/change my ABS sensor for ~$450 (which I never understood why this was necessary). They "capped me" at $1100 dollars and I was like, "Holy shit! These guys are giving me a deal!" My dad flipped his shit, called me a moron, and we got my car out of there.
Long story short we went to my dad's guys and they replaced the ball bearings in the wheel that was messed up and changed my rotors and breaks for $185. They did it in 45 minutes. I would have EASILY paid $1100 because of how naive I am and it feels like the FixCarNow guys would absolutely prey on that lack of knowledge.
Bottom line, they wanted to charge me $1100 for a $185 job. Never again, sorry guys.

Although I've reviewed FixCarNow in the past, I want to reiterate that, years later, they are still my go-to. I took both cars there within the last week, and was extremely satisfied by the experience. The management and staff there are professional, friendly, and efficient. And there's absolutely no B.S. to put up with. Also, if you need body work done, they have a good referral service, where the work is done for a reasonable price and schedule.

Stay away if you have a Subaru!! It's official they managed to almost get me killed once (see my first review) and now have cost me $1400+ for a new catalytic converter on my 2007 subaru outback. My new mechanic was pretty surprised that I needed a new cat so quickly, however when a shop like fix car now puts the wrong size spark plugs in your car it can cause that type of damage.
If they do the work right I'm sure you will not have a problem, but if you had the experience I had then you'll see how unprofessional and dishonest they can be. After having some issues with a misfiring cylinder I took my car to the dealership and found out Fix Car Now managed to somehow put spark plugs in my car that were close to an inch too long.
So Subaru replaces my spark plugs with the correct ones and then gives me the ones they replaced with some old subaru ones for comparison. . I went back to Fix Car Now to let them know they did a bad job and show them the spark plugs that they put in my car. Chance gave me my money back for the bad spark plug job roughly $200. I mentioned they probably ruined my catalytic converter as well. Chance said there was no way that damage could be caused by the spark pkugs. He even brought his chief mechanic out to BS me as well. I'm not a new car expert by any means, but when sparks plugs cause misfiring and are not correctly burning the gas in the cylinder this can cause gasoline deposits in the exhaust system (catalytic converter).
The right thing to do in my opinion would be to own up to the bad work and either pay for the catalytic converter replacement or do the job for free. Now both the Subaru dealer and 2 other mechanics have stated that the bad spark plugs could cause catalytic converter damage.
This happened almost 3 years ago but I've managed to chug along until recently without getting the converter replaced.
I just thought it would be a good idea to let people know what I experienced here. They could have replaced their mechanics etc. by now but the accountability of the ownership is definitely something to question.
Please see my other review of this same shop stripping a bolt on my tire then almost getting me t boned in an intersection. Never heard of stripping a bolt on the wheel before this incident.
Hopefully they are doing better work now and you won't have to come back when something isn't done right.

I'm writing this bc it's the least I could do. I walked in and Jimmy, the owner, greeted me and asked how he could help. My battery was draining over night and he checked it for FREE!!! Then he found the problem was a simple lose cable and didn't charge me for tightening it. All I can tell you is that from top to bottom the staff was very friendly and smart. I'm going back if there/when there are problems w my used car and I am going to make my roommates do the same.

"Car nuts" make the best mechanics...
Jimmy and his crew really helped me out. I broke down on a Sunday, 70 miles from home. A quick diagnosis and a free loaner car made what could have been a nightmare experience a painless transaction.
As for the work, I like these guys. I'm a true car nut and do a lot of the work on my own cars. These guys love cars too, and it shows. Thomas was intimately familiar with my make and model and got to the bottom of the problem quick.
Breaking down on the road is rarely fun/cheap, but if I ever break down again, I just hope it's right outside of FixCarNow! I will be going back for some pro-active maintenance that I can't do myself.

Not only were the employees super friendly and honest (which is very hard to find in repair shops), but their prices are very reasonable too. After shopping around for VW mechanics in the area, i came across these guys. It was a Sunday afternoon, I called and spoke Jimmy ,and explained the issues that I was having. without hesitation, he asked me to bring it in right away, he'll have it looked at. Their head VW mechanic explained to me in detail what the problems were. My repair was no cheap, however, I previously had it looked at by another mechanic which quoted me about the same price. I just felt like I was working with an experienced mechanic that knows VW's well, here at FIxCarNow.

I called
and told them I had a "replicar" of a 1937 Jaguar build on a Mustang body. I was having a series of problems that I could not sort out, I had it at another mechanic before who honestly did not know what he was doing. I can't tell you how pleased I am with Thomas as the mechanic and Chance as the owner. They were reasonable...and did the work efficiently....listened to this frustrated mechanic ( I am an attorney by profession) and got everything sorted out and the car in great shape. Smashed up the front end of my car right before the holidays and needed to get it fixed up and drivable. Wasn't looking to getting it back to perfect - just not smashed up. Basically needed to get the radiator cross bar straightened out, a new hood and a new bumper.
Being that I walk by this place all the time, I thought I'd swing by and just see what they might be able to do for me. When I got there, I was greeted by David, who took some photos of the damage and said he would send them over to their body shop guy who would prep an estimate for me. This was on a Saturday, so I should expect an email Monday.
Got an email from Lalo - who handles body work - with an estimate that included everything I had asked for including painting. Since I was looking to do the least needed to get things back into shape, I gave Lalo a call, chatted a bit about what he would be doing and he adjusted to exclude the painting for me. He was extremely polite and professional.
I dropped the car of on a Monday and got a free loaner car, which was a life saver. That Thursday was new years day, so I didn't expect to get the car back until at least Saturday. Got a call that Wednesday that it was back and ready to go. Headed over and everything looked great. Work was excellent - above and beyond to fix some of the details of the grill. Dealt with David again, who was extremely helpful and professional. The price was a bargain and way under the budget I was willing to put into the fix.
Not only is FixCarNow extremely conveniently located, the staff was extremely friendly, and the work was not only fast, but of high quality and low price. I'm extremely satisfied with my experience.

I went to FixCarNow because of a car emergency. While driving home from San Diego my car died and I had to have it towed back to LA. I had a lot of time to kill waiting for the tow truck, so I did a google search for repair places open on a Sunday (because of course this incident had to happen on a Saturday evening). FixCarNow was the first result in google and happened to be near my house.
So first thing Sunday morning I have my car towed in. I explained the problem and they said that they would look at it right away and get back to me with what they thought was wrong and how much it would cost. They offered me a free loaner car, but I declined that and got a ride home from the shop.
It ended up being a crack in the cooling system for my hybrid engine. When I googled that problem, it said that it should be about $800 to fix it. My quote was $720. I was told I would get my car back that evening, but unfortunately due to one of their suppliers being closed on Sunday, I had to wait an extra day.
My car has been working great since I got it back and now that my car passed 100,000 miles, I'm planning on bringing it back to a check up.

Start by saying these guys are great. Went to mall and came to my car to find that mines and three others where broken into. My driver passenger window wouldn't row up at all so I had to place a cardboard to ensure the weather wouldn't mess up anything inside.
I'm use to taking my car to BMW dealer how ever they want to much to fix and being its the holidays I'm really tight on funds. I got on yelp and found these guys. I'm so glad I did not only was the guy "Chance nice but actually listen and fix it way under what the dealer was asking.

I liked these guys! Brought my husband's old car in on a Saturday morning just to have the tires and fluids checked out and they were fast and easy to deal with. Only cost $30.00 for some fluids and a complete check so not a big repair but I will definately return when I encounter a real problem.

Good reviews are most likely bought here. Worst customer service experience in my life that I am still recovering from!
My car had an emergency issue with oxygen sensor that broke down on me in the worst timing. I had to tow my car to the closest location provided by insurance at 1am and unfortunately it was this place. I did not want to invest a lot of repair money into the car that was worth 1000$ anyways. I only needed it running for another 2 months before I would get rid of it. I was ready to get rid of it that day in case the emergency repair turns out to be pricey. These facts were clearly communicated to Fix a car before making repair authorization. They promised after they fix it it would be running for at least another 2 months so I believed them and spent 750$ on repair.
Guess what? With 2 years warranty on repair a week later my car is BROKEN AGAIN. Right before Christmas. This time it's the new issue which is "technically not related, however all part of one system", the idle control. They asked for another 600$ for it while being absolutely reluctant to refund money for previous repair which potentially triggered another breakdown.
Not only that they milked me for money setting false expectations in the first place they also charged 350$ for oxygen sensor that is worth 180$ on Amazon. With these high prices customer service could be a lot more generous.
Fix a car, you ruined my Christmas! I gave you money I was saving on presents for the repair that did not even last 2 weeks. You failed to establish customer relations properly and you've earned bad reputation for greedy overpriced repair shop people should stay away from!

Had a bad car experience at another shop and started looking around for nearby locations. This place showed up and I really wanted to like it because of how close it is to me. I called the day of my bad experience and made an appointment for the next day at 8am. Long story short, the other shop ruined my brakes and now they make screeching noises when I brake -so sad. I'm not mechanic savvy at all, so I was really hoping they would be honest with me and fix whatever and I was willing to pay whatever I needed. During my visit, the owner or manager seemed to have gotten in an argument with another worker and the worker cussed him out and quit right on the spot. Kinda uncomfortable from a customers perspective. Anyway, they glanced at my car and told me my car was fine and I explained to him all the noise it was making, but he insisted that there was nothing wrong and sent me on my way. I was really unhappy and knew there was something wrong. I decided to go somewhere else and BOOM. It was my pads. They were scraping the rotors. Something that probably would have been easy to diagnose but they didn't even care to look into it. Just a quick glance and make me feel like I'm crazy. Thanks so much!

So I've been waiting to see what happens to my car after the incident at FixCar and it's been running fine. I am now ready to write a review.
Originally I came here for some auto body work. They quoted me lower than everyone and had a free loaner car which was great. So I figured since they did a good job on the auto body work I'd try them on other stuff. Big mistake.
My engine light and VSC light was on so I took it in for them to look at. They told me the coolant temp sensor is failing and the thermostat needs to be replaced and coolant system flushed.
That's a lot of work right? I took the car in and dropped it off but I started to get suspicious after reading the invoice. I called 10 mins later to stop the work. I came back to the shop and they made me sign some sort of waiver form that says there could be possible damage to the car if I don't get this done.
So after this I took it to another mechanic. After a short while he calls me and tells me nothing is wrong with my car except that one of the radiator tubes is unhooked from the engine. That's awfully suspicious and potentially dangerous...
I won't say anything else other than to let what happened to me speak for itself...

These guys are amazing and just saved me $400. I had an oil change elsewhere and the mechanic told me my water pump is leaking and had to be replaced. This was a surprise so I wanted to get a second opinion before shelling out $400 to replace it. Toyota charges $50+ for an inspection, and most other places charge as well. FixCarNow does diagnostic test for free. The guys were professional and took the time to explain to me what they found. My water pump doesn't need to be replaced, but if my car needs any service in the future I'll definitely bring it back here. The only con is they seem very busy all the time so the wait might be long, but at the same time they are probably busy because they do such an awesome job!

SCAM ALERT!!!!
I made an appointment online because they seemed to have a nice website and offer $5 off an oil change. It all seemed pretty legit.
I showed up right on time and the first thing I was greeted with was the guy telling me he didn't have an appointment for me. This wasn't a big deal and said he could still service my car but then informed me I'd need to pay upwards of $30 on top of the oil change fee for parking. I wasn't about to do that, left and contacted the manager.
After I contacted the shop and told them the situation thinking they would offer some kind of discount to make up for the inconvenience. Nothing.
Unless you want to pay about $60 for what should be a $30 oil change- STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE

The prior Yelp reviews definitely did not steer me wrong. I needed an oil change and had a deflated tire. When I arrived it was clear that FCN was very busy, but they were able to fully service my car and get me a replacement tire (at a very reasonable price) in less than 24hrs. The car is running great and I know have my "go to" spot for car service/repairs.

Can you give 6 stars? This place is the best place in Los Angeles for your car, period. It Is almost impossible to find an honest and reasonable mechanic but these guys are it. I thought it was a fluke when I went the first time but I have been back now over 4 times and every person I deal with is extremely helpful, fast and charges less than everyone else. Hands down professional service. I highly recommend this shop. The owner, Chance Brown and his associates were very professional.
I bumped into my neighbors car and went to get estimates to fix it. I had 3 other body shops I was going to check out, but once I visited, my gut told me to stick with this shop. Chance helped me through the whole process with a solid fair deal. The people's car I hit were very pleased with the thorough job they did fixing the door.
They even give a loaner car for free. And they get a lifetime warranty on the work!! Let's just say my neighbor and I are still on great terms because I found Fixcarnow. Thank you very much for your honest word and impeccable service!

These guys are AWESOME! What a relief to find a great mechanic shop, with locations in all of my neighborhoods (home, work and play), and friendly, knowledgeable people who do quality work without trying to gouge you. They took my car this morning, even though I didn't have an appointment, and were kind enough to drive me to and from work. I just got my car back (same day), and it hasn't ridden so smoothly in years!
As a woman, mechanics can be pretty condescending, and they have regularly tried to jack me by claiming there's a billion really expensive things that need fixing -- my car is a stick/standard/manual, and one mechanic actually said I needed my automatic transmission fixed! Also, my car is super-old (not a classic, just old), so it is very easy to declare that everything is literally "do-or-die." I have never experienced that with FixCarNow. I'm impressed with their quality of service, as well as the pressure-free atmosphere. These guys tell you honestly what you need done now and what you can (SAFELY) get done when the time/money is available, without giving you a lot of hype. They aren't cheap, but they're not ridiculously expensive either, and their work has been quality.
I've been to the shop on Motor a few times over a stretch of years, each time working with a different person. Each person was amiable, informative and proficient - more importantly, they fixed my car, and I haven't had to have any of the work redone, something I can't say about other mechanics I've been to.
The first time I went to FixCarNow was years ago, just for an oil change. I told Chance then that I was looking for a long-term relationship, with a shop I can trust - I can't believe I've found one! It's nice to know my car will be in good hands when it needs it!

Low beam headlight out on my mercedes. My son had his lift kit on his tahoe tightened here previously so referred me saying great guys own it and they play baseball (we love baseball) - well, went in and for a very cheap part and almost no labor chg, Jimmy treated me like royalty! . So I was having a brake issue (air in the line) and got it fixed at a place by my house. I wanted to get a second opinion at another place for peace of mind just to make sure there was no underlying issues that caused the air and that more air was getting in. So I took my car to fixcarnow. One of the owners greeted me (sorry I don't remember your name) and was very nice.
Unfortunately I am one of those people on a right budget so I have to take advantage of free services where I can; so it was great that they had free brake inspection. They told me that my brakes looked good that there were no leaks or anything, they also gave me a quote on some other issues with my car which were really great compared to what another place told me. I am going to go here to get it fixed as soon as I can afford it (they had a great price, I am just on a really right budget, but I should be able to come in soon!)

First, let me say, I don't write reviews...I should take the time but I don't. But.. after going to FixCarNow on Motor Avenue, I had to take the time.These guys are AWESOME!!!
My car died for no reason one day. After having it checked out by emergency roadside service (they put gas in car and tried to jump it), it still wouldn't work. So, I had it towed to FixCarNow.
When I brought my towed car to FixCarNow, I met with owner Chance Brown. I sat in the shop super nervous because I couldn't afford having to repair a car - I was about to go on vacataion so money was tight. I was just about to leave the shop while they diagnose my car and Chance calls me to say, the car is working (it had been less than 10 minutes).
Apparently, they put in 1/2 gallon of gas and the car started up (the roadside service guy had already put gas in the car...werid). That simple! My care was fixed. I offered to pay for the gas and Chance refused to take any money from me. I almost jumped on him to hug him becasue I was so very happy and relieved.
These guys could have told me xyz was broken and it would cost me LOTS of money to fix the car and I would know no better. I don't know much about cars - (gas and oil change is the extent of my knowledge). They didn't take advantage of me - that was so very refreshing and because of their honesty, I HAD to take the time to write this review.
Thank you Chance! I'll bring my car back whenever I need service and I'll refer others to you.

After reading other reviews on yelp I decided to bring in my wife's vehicle in for break replacements and a low tire pressure light. I was met in the driveway by Jimmy one of the owners, Jimmy was awesome. He gave a estimate right on the spot for the work that I thought needed to de done. He went on to diagnosed the vehicle in minutes. Great service, friendly and overall honest and very knowledgeable. Didn't try to sell me on extra or unnecessary repairs, as a matter of fact I brought other concerns up to Jimmy. He had his guys check and concluded that it wasn't anything that needed attention anytime soon.
I was glad I brought my vehicle to FixCarNow. Great prices, comfy waiting room and overall great experience.

Took my car here to have the paint fixed...first time around there were still imperfections so I had to bring it in a second time. Paint job was fine, nothing spectacular.
Communication isn't great, I had to call a few times a few days later just to see what the status of my car was. Fine, not a big deal.
But here's the kicker...
Fast forward to a few weeks later and I get a parking ticket in the mail for $365 for parking in a handicap spot. Say what? My car was in the shop that day and I was out of town...I called to see what the deal was and they claimed that they must have gotten it when two employees decided to make a pit stop at Five Guys for lunch with my car. AWESOME!! Date of ticket: 8/8/14. Did they think I wouldn't find out? I'm not sure...super shady and completely unprofessional.
After speaking with them, the ticket still hasn't been paid.
Bottom line: If they had just confessed to getting a parking ticket and paying it, I wouldn't be upset but this is just not okay..
Hope the burgers at Five Guys were worth it!
TL;DR - Shady auto shop took my car to get lunch and tried to hide a parking ticket they got for parking in a handicap spot.

My car had been making a rattling sound when I drove. I dropped it off at FixCarNow at 9:15 AM on a Saturday morning and asked them to fix it and change the oil while they were at it. They had everything finished by noon the same day and because the cause of the rattling was such an easy fix, they only charged me for the oil change. I will definitely return to this garage for any of my car maintenance needs!

I can not say more about how great this place is.
I got in an accident about a month ago and I just started thinking about it this weekend, so on sunday night I looked around for a few shops and I found FixCarNow.
From the moment I found them on their website, I expressed the damage to my car and what I wanted fixed in their online appointment set up. I wish I knew they were open sundays or maybe I could have gotten my car earlier lol.
Anyway, less then six hours later they emailed me back to confirm my appointment for monday morning. I got my car towed there, and they were the most helpful car mechanic place I have ever talked too. They walked me through what they could do to put my bumper back on my car. Throughout the day we talked about the options, but he never started unless I said it was okay. They called back later and said 109$ for an hour of work!!! I was so excited I thought jimmy was lying.
When I went to pick up my car my bumper was back on my car, and he actually gave me an estimate to get the whole thing fixed(total new bumper, paint, headlight etc.) and that only came out to 900$ total(tax included) What a price!!!!
To put the sugar on top, I was 5$ short and Jimmy covered me.....just wow....TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE....NOW!!!!

Great service. Professional, Convenient and Hassle free.
I was having a custom daytime running light installation done which most shops including the dealsership wouldn't take on.
Not only were these cats super friendly, but on top of that they gave me a ride home while the work was being done on my car. Once the work was completed later that afternoon, they picked me up and brought me back to check out and pay for the awesome work done on my vehicle.
Turned out GREAT! LED daytime running lights look sweet, job well done all while able to get work done thanks to their courteous services.

When you go to any quick oil change lube place with all their bad service and reviews, one of the biggest red flags is them asking you to do unneeded maintenance and in particular changing your transmission fluid.
This place is no different than every other scammy service. Went to get a simple oil change, an hour later they call saying I need to get my transmission fluid changed. Guess what I just had it done within the year and they made the claim I should go back to where I had it done to ask why its so dirty, probably in hopes I'd just tell them to do it. This is a huge red flag for myself having gone to many of the quick oil change type places. Keep an eye out for this yourself. Note: If you're honest with your customers they are more likely to come back.
tldr: stay away.

I brought my Land Rover Discovery in for issues with my fourth cylinder failing to fire. The team at FixCar diagnosed to problem within moments and had the problem fixed within 24 hours. Hornberg wanted to charge me over a thousand dollars to do the work these guys did for a fraction of that.
If you own a Land Rover these guys know their stuff, they even have a LR specialist on staff and unlike other mechanics these guys actually have the LR diagnostic tools ONSITE.
Unlike your grandads shop the team at FixCar employ a number of high tech systems, not just in their shop (the techs have a huge system with a killer LCD for diagnostics) the billing and customer tracking system they have in place is steps above what you see even in big corporate stores.
The shop itself is clean modern and comfortable (with a custom coffee machine!) the staff is knowledge and nice. We'll worth a trip.

I've never experienced anything quite like this. The level of dishonesty blows my mind.
I took my car to get the oil change over the weekend. When they were finished with the oil change the mechanic (who seemed extremely nice and knowledgeable) discussed two issues with me that needed fixed and a few maintenance services that should be performed on my car . All of them seemed legitimate. The two issues that needed fixed were the water pump was leaking and needed replaced and the fan belt was cracked and needed replaced. My car is 11 years old and it's very plausible that those two issues needed fixed. I have a mechanic in Culver City that I've been taking my car to for repairs. I made an appointment with him for a second opinion (because the repairs/maintenance were going to cost close to 1000 dollars total). He informed me that the "maintenance services" were just up-sales and lo and behold, there was no leak in the water pump and no crack in the fan belt! Wow!
To try and take advantage of someone to this degree beyond terrible!

I really can't express how happy I am to find a quality mechanic that offers great customer service and is a whole lot cheaper than the competition. I took my BMW into Chance for a front brake replacement (which can run upwards of $800+ at BMW dealerships). I scouted some other shops in the area and most priced the work around $650, so I was ecstatic when the owner, Chance, said he could do it for under $550 and get it done by noon the next day! What impressed me further, is that he offered me a loaner car without any hesitation. You usually don't see this service unless you are going to a repair shop affiliated with a car dealership.
Sure enough, by noon the next day, my car was ready and it I was out the door faster and cheaper than I could have imagined.
I usually am paranoid going to auto shops, knowing that they will screw me over in some capacity by either overcharging me or convincing me of work I don't need. I never felt that way with Chance...he was so personable; it was like I was dropping my car off at a friend's house. I wasn't worried; I wasn't panicked...who knew piece of mind could be had at an auto shop? A great thanks to Chance and FixCarNow...you have a loyal customer as long as I am in LA. I wish it had always been this easy.
No more squeaky breaks that make me wonder if I will be dying at my next stoplight!

They did a great job on my car and got it fixed in a day...when my insurance was going to take 2 days to even come out and look at it so that was great.
So why 4 stars and not 5? Well they seemed a bit unorganized and from what I could hear it sounded like it was from lack of employees. When I went in to talk to the guy he was there by himself...the phone was ringing off the hook and apparently they don't have hold on their phone because he had to pick it up right then even though I was sitting there before the calls started. GET A MULTI-LINE PHONE SYSTEM GUYS, that way you can attend to your customers and not take phone calls ahead of them.
Also the next day when I went in to pick up my car, there was a guy there who wanted his car checked out and the man there at the time was saying "we can't look at it now, all my guys are out to lunch"
That's not how you do it...lol this isn't high school, everyone doesn't need to sit together at lunch, make everyone go at different times. If John is going at 1:30 make James go at 2:00 so that there is always someone available to help people out.
Aside from that I also wanted them to give me an estimate on some scratches on my car (that resulted from the hit and run that brought me there in the first place). They fixed the main problem, being the alignment with my tires....but they never gave me the estimate on the scratches. Every time I asked they would say "we'll get you a quote by the end of the day" Never got the quote and I just eventually took it to my usual car people because it was such a small job.
They do give you a free rental, BUT the rental is only free if you actually get work done by them, so keep that in mind and don't expect a flashy rental lol my car is a 2012 and when he showed me the rental I'd be driving I was like "oh" I had to manually adjust the mirrors just to give an idea on the year of the car and it's basically an advert. car, with their number and all that on it....luckily it was only for a day.
*NOTE TO BUSINESS OWNERS* Your guys do good/quick work. But PLEASE hire someone to help that poor guy who is in charge of phones/ walk-ins. I really did feel bad for him...he needed help. Get a new phone....spread your employee's lunch breaks throughout the day. These 4 stars would have been 5 with a little more organization.

I'm the type of person who doesn't trust anyone but myself to do repairs to my vehicle, but this being a fuel delivery related project, having a lack of space to do the project and my having yet to perform anything of that sort on a vehicle, I opted to find a mechanic. I am glad I came to Chance at FixCarNow.
Chance and his team are very straightforward with cost and repairs. They are attentive to their customers and their customers concerns. My Cobalt was leaking fuel and needed a new reservoir assembly. He quoted a fair price for the labor (2.5 hrs) and the part. He sent one of his team to the Chevy dealership to retrieve the part once the issue was discovered. I told him today I was on a tight schedule and had to make my way up to Hollywood for work. I arrived around 1130am, and by 1140, my paperwork was done, car was pulled out front, and I was on my way to work.
The mechanic even took the time after pulling the car out of the shop to look at another potential issue I had been looking at for a while (sway bar end links), and was able to confirm my suspicion.
Needless to say, Chance is running a solid business in my neighborhood, and I won't hesitate to return to him next time I have a project I just don't feel I can perform on my car.

Caught the owner of the shop at a bad time, as one of his technician had broken a pane of glass. That being said, he went out of his way to apologize for being in a bad mood even though I understood the situation and thought it was unnecessary. Aside from that, I came in to have a battery replaced on my 5 series bmw. I did my research online and the price they quoted me for replacement and programming was a little below the average I found on forums so I was pleased. The owner even gave me a loaner car for the hour and 1/2 or so my car was being worked on. Overall pleased with customer service and workmanship.

There is something very satisfying about having great communication with a business (phone and lots of back up emails - imagine that from an auto repair shop) prior to the repairs you are expecting and them having them done as planned, in the time they told you, getting a loaner car so you don't kill your day and then have it all come in under their price quote. I had all 4 brake pads replaced on my 2010 Audi Q5 and Chance, Jimmy and the crew performed like a precision team. The office was nice and the talk was straight. No surprises and only great service. Imagine that! 5 stars it is.

People this is the place to go. I have not even used this service and I'm tellinh you they are are good straight up machenics. This is why: I called to see if they could help me with my car and he basically gave me a true diagnostic over the phone to the best of his ability. Then he said,"bring the car in for a FREE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC". No one is doing that. Only one downside to for me to his business, their policy is to use factory parts which are expensive and I can't afford that. Therefor, I will go on the internet and get after market replacement parts and have someone install them,

I would give negative 5 stars if i could. Went in for a oil change and basically wanted to fix things that are not needed. What they didn't know, is that i'm pretty savvy when it comes to cars. Always do your research on your car and the prices. These mechanics can not be trusted. Always get multiple inspections and then some, if your car need a fix. I'm surprised that fixcarnow got so many stars.

I wish I could give this shop more stars because they're refreshingly HONEST.
I took my car in last weekend because there was a metal gurgling sound going on when I accelerated (a problem I've dealt with for a while). I drove the car around the block with Jim, one of their staff mechanics, and he pinpointed the problem almost immediately. Jim explained to me that my fuel injection system was most likely dirty due to poor gas quality. I admit, I've only ever purchased the cheapest gas possible. "That explains it", he said.
To my surprise, Jim then recommended that I buy a $14 bottle of fuel injection cleaner at an auto parts store and fill up my next couple of tanks with the highest quality of gas. "If the metal gurgling sound doesn't go away, come back and we'll clean the entire system out, it's a few hundred dollars, but let's try the cheaper alternative first". The CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE suggested by a mechanic in LA? That's a first...
I'm less than a quarter of a tank into his instructions and the problem is SOLVED. I was amazed that they didn't immediately try to push their services on me. THAT'S WHAT I CALL HONEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I'm definitely making them my first choice in auto reapair from here on out for this car and the next! I HIGHLY recommend them!

I received a message today from one of the owners at FIxCarNow, and I must say it's very timely as I have a new found feeling of renewal with my 1997 Jetta. I was recently thinking about getting an Audi A4 or another BMW, but I'll keep my old 1997 that I just cleaned up. My transmission is really solid along with a recent head job (on my car folks) the Jetta is tight. No need for an Audi or BMW when VW is in the same category (my opinion). I'm gonna change my rating from a 3 stars to 4 because the transmission has held up. Continued success to their business! If my trans holds up anothe year I will give up another star!

I didn't want to write this bad review, and held off because I had been in the process of resolving my issue but things only got worse. They have mechanics in my office building, and I dropped my car off for an oil change and to check the tire pressure.
Things went fine, it was affordable and super convenient. I left, my car smelled a little like oil but I've heard that can happen if oil spills during an oil change and your engine needed to burn it off. As far as my tires, the light went back on the next day. I thought the tire was done, but put air in it and the light has never gone on since (this was weeks ago). So I'm not sure if they even looked at my tires?
As for the oil change, about a week later, I noticed oil coming out of my car. I popped the hood and saw there was no oil cap. They had left the oil cap off, and I had been driving around with oil running all over my engine and the interior of my hood. I had to clean this up twice, and refill my oil as well as purchase a new cap.
I emailed them requesting a refund, and the owner said he would do it no questions asked. I assumed my credit payment was simply being reversed. Two days later, I received a call from the mechanic in the building saying he wanted to talk about what happened. I called and after a lengthy conversation, in which he took no ownership, and continually said "IF we did this, then we're sorry," he said I should come down to process the refund. I came down the next day, and he asked to see my car. There were still remnants of oil, and while they offered to give me free oil changes and clean my car up I had just had it and wanted my refund. Then I was told he didn't have the check to give me my refund after all. So why did he have me meet him? Great question! He said he would call me the next day to give me a check.
A week later, no call. I call again, he apologized and said he would have a check that afternoon. Two days later, I had to send another email to the owner because I had not heard and I was tired of chasing down these people when I had already spent my weekend at another mechanic fixing their mishap. I was told it was a "busy week" for them, and that's why I hadn't gotten my refund. While I appreciated their efforts to make the situation right, I continually felt like they were not taking my business seriously and did not find it important to right their wrong. I completely lost trust in their company as mechanics and as someone who values their customers. I finally got my refund - but too little too late.

I don't like finding a new mechanic/garage in a big city, but I am pretty pleased with my experience here. I didn't have to make an appointment, but brought my car in midday on Saturday and the work was done two hours later. Chance, the owner, was nice and friendly, and was overall very professional. He answered my questions about the problem with my car. They offer a free diagnostic service, and Chance said that he would call me after the diagnostic and before performing the service so that we could discuss what was wrong, but he forgot, and performed the service without having called first. Normally I would be annoyed by this, but he apologized and it seemed genuine, and I think it was an honest mistake, and I am OK with it. I'd recommend this place to others looking for a reliable mechanic/garage but not interested in something more corporate (e.g. JiffyLube).

These guys are not only honest, courteous, and thoughtful, but they are excellent at what they do.
We have a 2000 Maxima that was first towed to another mechanic in Culver City after it broke down. The shop quoted me a ridiculous amount to fix the car, and after a week of wrangling about the price, they called me to tell me they were going out of business. For good. Certainly no surprise.
After looking on Yelp and calling around, I landed on FixCarNow. Explaining my situation over the phone they were immediately sensitive to the fact that I needed help quickly and without a hassle. I spoke to Chance first, who checked to make sure he could handle the car (the Maxima needed a new/used computer and a new Idle Air Control Valve, and not all mechanics can handle the electronic recalibration of a computer) before I had it towed there. His wonderful mechanic, Thomas, called me right after he diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate of both time and money, which was half of what the previous (crooks) had wanted. He also offered me a loner car, which is a huge financial help.
The car was fixed on time, within the estimate. They guarantee their work, they don't charge for a diagnosis, and they are extremely thoughtful. A great experience over all.

Where do you take your car when your first teenager loosened the bumper while learning how to drive a year ago and your twins are about to get their driver permits? I looked for a place that would inexpensively and conveniently fix the bumper and be there when my next drivers in waiting did minor damage to our "trainer" car, a 2005 Sebring. Jimmie took great care of me. I went in for an estimate and left an hour or so later with the bumper no longer hanging off the car!! The interior is quite attractive in a hip way, something I don't thing I have ever said about an auto repair shop. Thank you Jimmie. I will probably be back but, hopefully, not too soon!

Fixcarnow is the best! Jimmy, Thomas and David provided excellent customer service and went the extra mile and not for the extra buck or yelp review but clearly because it is the kind of service they offer on a daily basis.
As a woman, going to a mechanic can be frustrating simply because a lot of times we are taken advantage of but here I felt respected and safe. The guys didn't beat around the bush with repairing my car and didn't charge me for any unnecessary work.
My 2010 VW Passat check engine had come on and having gone to the dealership I was told it would cost almost $1500 to repair. I knew enough of about my car to know that that was ridculous. After reading the review and checking out their website I contacted them via email and Jimmy replied that evening with a quote that was much more reasonable.
So far my car runs great and I don't expect any issues. My car has found a new repair home. Thanks SO much!

Sadly, I don't think I will return due to a mechanic that was incredibly rude to me over the phone. I would not recommend using Fixcarnow. I am extremely disappointed with my experience.
Summary:
The repair failed after only a few months. They tried to sell me an different repair that I did not need. My family mechanic found that the part was installed incorrectly, they used the wrong kind of fluid, used silicone to seal a hose instead of replacing o-ring.
Fixcarnow was unwilling to correct the situation.
Long Version:
I had a power steering pump and hose replaced by Fixcarnow from the garage in my building. After the repair, I was told that, although the pump had been fixed, my steering would still have problems because I needed a new rack and pinion. I was quoted a price for replacement of the rack and pinion. Fortunately, I declined.
I moved from Los Angeles shortly thereafter. A few months later, my steering, which was never really fixed, became much worse. I thought " I guess Fixcarnow was right about the rack and pinion" so I took it to a family mechanic in my new location.
After examining the car, my mechanic told me that the pump had been installed with the wrong fluid and that the pump had developed a leak. because silicone sealant was used as a sealant, instead of a new o-ring. Moreover, he inspected the rack and pinion and determined that there was no problem with that system.
I called Fixcarnow and spoke to the owner. He told me that he would only help me if I brought the car back into the shop so that he could inspect it. I told him this wasn't a possibility since I had moved. He said he wasn't obligated by law to do anything and that there was nothing he could do.
After I protested, he said that he could only help me if it was a problem with the part. He said he "would try to get a replacement part." But in order for that to happen, I would have to photograph the entire steering system of the the car, send him all the parts, have my mechanic perform tests on the fluid, etc.
And what if it was a defective repair? No help.
According to him, were it not so, "people would be calling me up all the time, trying to get money." That suggests to me that my situation was not unique.
I understand his point: it would be better for him to fix the problem that he created in his own shop. But that is not a possibility for me because I have moved.
Fixcarnow's unwillingness to make things right under the circumstances coupled with the shoddy workmanship and misdiagnosis of my problem convinced me that I should warn other potential customers.
If you go here, prepare to have to go back. If you can't go back, you're out of luck.

DO NOT USE FIXCARNOW. You will find that the knowledge, experience, and general ability to make decisions is about that of a child aged appropriately to name a business Fix Car Now.
This company cost me a car. I sold it, unable to pass a smog check and leaking fluids from the engine, for 20 percent of its value due to an expired registration and street parking situation that nobody ever wants to be in. This was after FCN performed a timing chain operation, left out a necessary water pump, and days later blew my head gasket. (Also, they deprogrammed my on board computer, drained and didn't replace my a/c fluid, somehow disabled my cruise control completely, and delivered me my car in a most filthy state with notes written in the dirt of the windshield with someone's finger.) They've taken no responsibility for this, and have now removed my Yelp reviews as well. I guess that's good business these days...
if you're looking for a cheap bill, sure-- go ahead. If you're looking to have a car next week, I'd suggest a real mechanic.

There was wierd sound coming from the car and burning smell too...when i took my car to fix car now. The manager told me that they will take it 2 hrs to just diagnose the problem...
After 2 hrs they called me and said battery needs to be replaced and alternator too and gave me estimate of $ 760. After much bargaining they finalize it to $700. As i was in emergency i had to give up there demand.When i did some research i found that alternator and battery can be replaced withing $400.
It was a good lesson learnt for me.

It's Saturday afternoon and I've just come to the realization that the radiator in my 96 Honda has cracked and leaks fluids. I guess I should be thankful that it happened in town instead of driving across the California desert, which is where I'd be headed the next day. My regular mechanic was closed on Saturday so after searching Yelp for mechanics that were open "right now" I came across FCN. Troy answered the phone and said they could probably fix it same day. The time was 2PM.
I showed up at 2:15 and Troy immediately confirmed that I'd need a new radiator and thermostat. He pulled in directly into a bay and ordered the parts. I waited in the office while the work was performed. Exactly 2 hours later, my car was done. I've been to doctor appointments that took longer. These guys are like the emergency room for cars.
All in all I was pleased with the same-afternoon turnaround on the job. In retrospect I feel like the effective labor rate was probably higher than necessary given the amount of time actually spent on the repair but I didn't try to negotiate... At the same time, services were performed immediately so I'll attribute the labor premium to the no hassle transaction, quick-turnaround, and convenient location.
Parts carried 2 year warranty and invoice was thorough and professional. Recommended.

These guys are great! I own a Mazda and trust them to work on my car for any work that needs to be done on it. Their prices are very competitive, they know what they're doing, and they work on all makes of cars -- I've even seen police cars at their shop waiting for repair.
Love the fact that if you get stuck somewhere, they will be there for you, day or night. The plus for me is they have a mobile unit parked at my job so we can get our oil changed, or whatever is needed while we work. They also have loaners in case you need to get somewhere while your car is being worked on.

Professional & no B.S.
We have taken both our vehicles here for major repairs (broken gaskets, brakes..) and minor repairs (oil changes, wiper blades...) and have always been treated fairly and with quick turnaround.
I feel their prices are honest (not cheap, but not gouging! and def. worth the price of being treated with courtesy) and the quality of work is above average.
They work fast and yet are thorough with their inspections. If they need your vehicle for an extended time (overnight, a few days, etc) they will offer you a loaner vehicle--which I find super convenient.
They've also offered me rides any time I've dropped my car there. Though I've declined, I think this is excellent customer service & sure does beat hanging around the mechanic for hours.
We have been very happy with all of the repairs & services that we've received and will continue to make Fix Car Now our "regular mechanic."
**Also please note: they are ALWAYS busy---and if you happen to be talking to Chance or Troy on the phone and are put on hold, please just hang in there. They really do get a LOT of calls and handle each one of them personally. They always know what's going on with your car and will speak to you directly. And, they make so many phone calls to YOU to keep you updated---seriously, the communication from owner to client is top notch.

Like so many people, I make it known when I've had bad customer service experience but I am embarrassed to say that I don't always put as much energy into sharing my positive experiences and rarely if ever put in writing.
My experience with Fix Cars Now and especially, Chance Brown forces me to make the effort. I went to FCN for front-end damage to my SUV and was disarmed by Chances humor and a positive disposition. Even better he quoted me a fair price (I know because I "shopped" repair shops) and gave me his word that the physical repairs would not exceed
The number he gave me and he made good on his word.
To top all of this off, FCN will provide a loaner vehicle under some circumstances and I don't need to tell you that this alone can save you hundreds of dollars. So, I got my car fixed beautifully that was returned washed including waxed tires. I avoided having to rent a car that saved me tons of money and the cost for repair was highly competitive and was backed 100% by my insurance company, no questions asked. On top of it, everyone was friendly and helpful and they're open 7DAYS A WEEK! Yes, I picked up my car on a Sunday afternoon.
2012 was a tough year for driving as I also have rear bumper damage that occurred prior to the front. The good news is, I know who I'm going to when its time to fix it! These are good guys and they've earned a customer in me.

I bought an oil change on Groupon for FixCarNow awhile back for around $30. Cars are not something I know about. When they took a look at my car, they told me there were all these problems with it. I am incredibly trusting when it comes to this stuff. They even offered me a loaner car, which is not something I would have expected from a place like this.
Next thing I knew, my bill was over $2,000 with all these things they claimed were wrong with the car. I paid and let it go, thinking my car is a few years old, and that's just the price of maintenance. 6 weekslater, the oil light came back on. A friend of a friend is a reputable mechanic, so he took a look at my car. He has no ulterior motive; I wasn't paying him, nor was I going to go back and look at him again. He said they did nothing they had claimed they did, and fixed it with the absolute poorest quality fix-it style. He was point blank, shocked, for lack of a better word. He proceeded to actually fix my car. On the plus side, he said they did do a good job cleaning the engine.
So, in the end, I really hate to give a company such a low mark, but what happened to me was inexcusable. I see the 5 star reviews on here, and suspect that a lot are fraudulent. I see other reviews who experienced something similar.

Took my car down for some body work, they fixed it within 4 days ( as promised) The other places i took it down to told me it would take over 2 weeks.
And the Job was done really well. the Car looks as good as new (If not better :-))

Prices might be 5% higher than other places but that's something i can live with when some one treats me with respect and delivers good results.

First, I have had an EXCEPTIONAL experience with FixCarNow West LA.
As a woman, I am naturally skeptical of taking my car to get serviced; however, I will gladly say the customer service here far exceeded my expectations. Both Jimmy and Troy were extremely helpful and honest. They always looked me in the eye when they were talking to me and were extremely respectful. I never felt uncomfortable asking questions or calling them multiple times, which I most definitely did. They were always very nice about it and never got frustrated or annoyed with me. They have been extremely generous and understanding throughout the whole process and even offered to give me a ride to my doctors appointment. They also have loaner cars (for no charge), in case yours has to be there for a while.
Oh and here are the technical details: I had to take my car in because it was "hard-shifting" into first and second gear. They originally thought a transmission flush would do it fix it (it was an intermittent problem and when they test drove it it wasn't doing it). But Jimmy recommended that I leave it over night anyway so he could check it when it was cold in the morning, because that's usually when it was acting up. In the morning, the car was doing it again, so they looked at it again (after checking it out for about 5 hours the day before but not finding anything) and found that the speed sensor was really old. So, they replaced that. But, my car was still hard shifting after the replacement, so they monitored it again the next day, which brings us to now. Troy is relearning the speed sensor to the computer and I have to go pick it up in about thirty minutes. He said it should be just fine but if it has any more problems to bring it back in. Not sure if those are the most technical details, but I did my best. Overall, I am very confident in their work. They seem to really know what they are talking about.
Also, I had taken my car to Two Brothers Auto Repair on Venice Blvd a few months ago and they told me at least 12 things were wrong with my car - most of them being oil-related. I decided to only have the one necessary thing done (replace the fan because it overheated) because I had a feeling they were just
me. After the fan replacement, my car was running just fine i.e. not leaking oil at all. So, basically, they lied to me and wanted to make me believe all this stuff was wrong when it wasn't. That experience made me that much more thankful that this place didn't do that to me. And, they reaffirmed that the other place was just feeding me bull and I was right.
I will be recommending FixCarNow West LA to all of my friends :)

I went into FixCarNow because I was getting a little bit of squeaking in my brakes. I assumed I would be spending several hundred dollars on a brake job. Jimmy, one of the owners said they would take a look at it for free. They popped off the tires and inspected my brakes on the spot. Brake pads were at 80% and 100% and Jimmy advised that I not do anything right now. He said it could be an imperfection in the brake pad and it might smooth itself out in 3 weeks. He told me to come back then if I was still hearing a squeak. I am very impressed with his honesty. He could have easily just done the brake job and billed me but he gave it to me straight, which means that they just landed themselves a lifelong customer. I couldn't walk out without doing something. I was due for an oil change soon so I had them do it. Great service. Thank you Jimmy and Chance.

Took my car in for faulty AC before a moving to Texas. Was told the high pressure hose was broken and needed to be replaced. AC stopped working 3/4 of the way through the drive, and a smell of urine would occasionally come through the AC. When I took it to a shop in Texas they told me the high pressure hose was leaking and I was low on freon, but it looked like the low pressure hose had been replaced. Turns out Fix Car Now replaced the wrong hose and I didn't realize it till enough of the new freon had leaked out and the AC stopped working.
When I contacted them about this I was refused a refund of my money. I was later told they would call me back after they contacted the owner and I never heard anything back.
Its a shame they wouldn't do the right thing and give me a refund. If they had they would have had a customer for life, which would have far out weighted the $400 or so refund.
Would not recommend this place. Go hear at your own risk.

FixCarNow is tops!
Jimmy was very clear about what kind of service my car needed, but never tried to push extra services. He helpfully explained the issues without being condescending, which is a thing I've encountered with other shops. Not being an engine wonk, I really appreciated this. The people at FixCarNow KNOW their cars.
They have a shuttle service too, so if the shop needs your car for several hours you can catch a ride home and have to waste the day reading old AutoWeek magazines.

Jimmy is the best! Our car was jerking hard whenever we shifted gears, and was not letting us accelerate. I took it to one mechanic who said it was just the tires slipping and charged me $50 for the check up. Of course, the same exact problem happened the next day. It was a Sunday so practically no one was open but fix car now. We called in and Jimmy said to bring it in for him to look at. We did, and he kept it for about 2 days just diagnosing the problem. Diagnosis was free, by the way.
It turns out the problem was pretty complicated and not a cheap part to fix, and Jimmy wanted to make sure it was for sure what he thought it was before making the repair. He even got on the phone with the dealer for my car to make sure he was right. The diagnosis was that it could be one or both of the throttle body and the on board computer. Jimmy said we should fix the throttle body first, since that was definitely faulty, and the cheaper of the two parts. Long story short, we agreed, he fixed, and it seems like everything is working great!
Also, Jimmy has loaner cars which he lets you drive for no extra charge. So glad we stumbled upon this place. We will be coming back for future maintenance.

Originally from the East Coast, my family has been going to the same guy with our cars for about 9 years now. When I moved at the end of 08 to LA, the thought crossed my mind that I wouldn't have my "go to" anymore. Who would I be able to trust?
Since then I've been going to the dealership service department to get general maintenance done. However, I'd been hearing a screeching sound from my car and knew something was wrong. By Saturday night I knew I couldn't wait any longer to get the problem solved, but who is open to do car service on a Sunday? Thank goodness for these guys, who fit me in right away when I showed up at 8 am sharp Sunday morning and took care of my brakes within hours. I especially liked that they SHOWED me the problem on my car, instead of just explaining. Fair pricing and they even gave me a ride back home while they worked on it. Plus, for those who want to wait it out in the shop, there's a flat screen TV with tons of channels to keep you entertained. So grateful to finally have a go-to on the west coast!

Went to FixCarNow today to have them look at my tire that needed to be repaired. Jimmy and his team were fantastic, the repaired it and had me out of there in 30 minutes. I also thought that I needed to have my brakes fixed but they took a look and said I was good to go. I appreciated their honesty, quality and efficiency.
Jimmy also gave me good advise about my lease return and possible repairs that would need to be done.

There are still honest mechanics out there...
Ok...I'm not normally one to give a lot of praise to mechanics I've worked with for various reasons. I have to say this is exactly what I expect my experience to be like.
Straight to the point. Doug the skilled mechanic that worked on my car went through every aspect of my repair, what happened, and how it needed to be fixed. I'm not an expert on cars, but I do know MY car, it's parts, and how things work. I was schooled in what my car needed repaired, and how long I had to get it done, and what to do to get it done. I will be back...even the pricing for the service was more than fair. Class act all the way!

It started in March 2009 when I was told I needed front brake pads. From that point on, brakes were squeaking. Brought it back in and I was told I needed back brakes and rotor replaced. Brakes were screeching, squeaking and clunking. Brought it back in on a weekly basis right up until the beginning of August 2009. They could not figure out why my brakes were squeaking, screeching and clunking.
In that time period, I needed a new A/C compressor. They replaced the compressor, accumulator and orifice. The price I paid was for new parts. I found out the parts they were using for my car were refurbished parts. The compressor and brake pads etc had to be replaced. I mentioned to the owner that he should give his customers the choice of refurbished or new. Although I had refurbished I was charged for a new part. After inquiring about the cost I was told they have a mark-up. I understand that but they should not charge a customer a 100% mark-up!
I was back in February 2010, with the squeaky. screeching, clunking brakes to have an oil change. I was charged for the oil change and everything that goes with it. My oil filter was not replaced because according to the mechanic, I didn't need one. (I brought my car to another garage who in fact asked when was the last time I had my filter changed as it was extremely dirty.) Also, my A/C stopped working...blowing warm air. Fix Car Now hooked it up to the diagnostic machine which read nothing was wrong. The mechanic said it could be a small hole causing a slow leak in the hose. They would get me a price for a new hose which consists of a couple of hoses and call the next day. That was February 22, 2010. I called them 2 days later and they said they would call me back. I called back a week later and was put on hold. I called again and now they do not answer.
Since then, I went and got a second opinion. The pads they were using were the cheap one, semi-metallic, instead of ceramic. I am presently having my A/C diagnosed as to whether it really is the hose that needs replacing.
I have known the owner of Fix Car Now for 5 years and as a person he is great. The problem is that he only manages and does not do the work himself. There is one mechanic that works for him that does not believe in perfection but rather he likes to take short cuts. (This was told to me one of the days that my car was being worked on by another mechanic and that mechanic told me.) I brought this to the owners attention but nothing was done about it.
I no longer feel confident with any of their mechanics. Sometimes I feel as though the work was not done nor completed.
The garage advertises "No squeak brakes" but yet I am still squeaking! And my A/C is still blowing out warm air!
Not a very happy ex-customer not to mention all the money I spent to have to turn around and have the work redone even though I have a warranty with some of the parts and guarantee of Fix Car Now's work.

You can trust your car with these guys! Jimmy, Troy & Chance are all superb at diagnosing what is essential to fix now vs. later, and they do a fantastic job. I have had everything done here....timing belt replaced, struts, tires, AC unit replaced, you name it, I have trusted them and have never been disappointed. Their customer service is top notch, and just as others have mentioned, bottom line is they are great at what they do, and trustworthy. To boot, they will give you the lowdown on cars that are consistently requiring more maintenance than others, so you make a smart choice on your next car purchase. Hands down, these guys are the best.

I went to this place about 9 months ago, however did not have a Yelp account. I have always remembered how great they treated me, so I guess a good review is better late than never. It's so nice to know that I can rely on trustworthy, accurate service at this place! I had a terrible experience at my dealership and was completely taken advantage of. My car was making a terrible noise, however after a few hours stopped making the noise. I wanted to get this checked out. According to the dealership, I was told my car would need $1000 worth of repairs. They seemed very suspicious and sleazy, so I wanted to get a second opinion. New to LA, as well as being a young girl, I wanted to make sure to find an honest mechanic that would take advantage of my compete lack of knowledge about cars. After reading all their positive Yelp reviews, I took my car to FixCarNow West LA. I was able to make an appointment right away. After they were done evaluating my car, the owner took me into the garage where he explained/showed me exactly what had caused the noise. It turns out there were no repairs needed. They also did an entire overall look at my car, refilling my washer fluid, checking tire pressures, etc. They did not charge me a thing and said if for some reason I started to hear the same noise again, or in any way felt uncomfortable or unsafe in my car to call them right away and they would take another look at it. I never heard the noise again, and my car has been running fine ever since. I appreciate the owner's honesty and kindness towards me, and I cannot have been happier with my experience at this place. Sorry my review is so delayed, but I figure, good and honest customer service never expires!

They also didn't try to add in other services or fix anything that I didn't come in to have fixed like other places might. They even filled my tires with air before I took off. I Love these guys! They are the Best! They are such great mechanics but they are also two of the kindest, most honest guys you'll find in this business. They are also hysterical and just fun guys to be around which makes the experience of taking your car in to get repaired actually a PLEASANT one! I'm not sure anyone can say that about taking their car in to the mechanic but it is really true with these guys:-) They have great people working for them too so everyone there makes your whole experience a positive one...Cricket works in the office and I love her too. She is super sweet and easy to talk to. Troy has worked on our cars a couple of times and always does nice work.
I've been in LA for about 4 years now and found them a couple of years ago. These are my GO TO guys because they are the most trustworthy mechanics I've ever encountered. Before finding them I had some pretty awful experiences with random mechanics around LA. I always buy used cars so needless to say my cars require a lot of upkeep. It's SO important to have a place you can go to where you can truly TRUST the work they are doing on your car and that it is a fair price for what is being done. I am a woman and more often than not, past mechanics would try to "pull one over on me" or strong arm me into doing something to my car that didn't really need to be done, assuming I had no idea what they were talking about. They'd talk in circles using crazy "Car Jargon" to confuse me and try to get me to repair a part of my car that was totally fine.
I am SO LUCKY I found these guys! I first found them when they were kind enough to look at a used car I was interested in buying and gave me the recommendation NOT to buy it because it wasn't going to be a reliable car. I later had them look at the used car that I ended up buying after their recommendation to go ahead and get it. Since then, they have worked on that car and that of my fiance's many times. Their work is OUTSTANDING - truly the best you will get in this business. As a woman they never talk in circles, hoping to confuse me so they can work on a part of my car that doesn't need work. They are always direct and clear, speaking in terms the layman will understand, about what needs to be done to my car, how long it will take and how much it will cost me! They are super honest and that counts for a TON in my book! What's even more awesome is that when I have to get my car fixed and they will need it for a day or so, they always give me a free loaner car to use!!! What other mechanic will do that?!!!
Bottom line: Chance and Jimmy are two of the most honest, skilled and fair mechanics out there. You will be so happy you trusted them with your vehicle!!!

I don't care what you say, Chance and his crew rock.
It's really pretty hard to find someone that's:
1) open 7 days a week
2) honest
3) uses factory parts, and not cheap crap
4) not outrageously expensive like dealers
But they accomplish it, somehow.
Have taken three or so cars here, all with no problems.
There's no BS bureaucracy -- just Chance (mechanic himseld) and his team, and he's always there, just like the way a small honest shop should be. I'm just so lucky I live so close to them.
Last time I was there, Chance was talking about some retirement nonsense. Nooooo! We need you!

Sorry to say this, but I didn't really have the best experience. While the customer service was good in that they are willing to pick you up and even offer services to drive to your location to do basic care maintenance and repair, the actual repair wasn't so good for emissions repair. I paid $95 and only got the Timing set worked on only. It would have cost $200 something more in labor to get a full service emissions repair to ensure I past the smog test.
When I brought it back to the smog test place at Overland Smog Center, I not only failed it again but the guy said I was overcharged and his recommendation to check the EGR Circuit for cleaning was ignored. Instead of bringing it back to Fix car now and pay the extra $200 in labor, the Overland Smog Center was able to have the EGR circuit fixed for much less than the $95 dollars I initially paid.
Perhaps the other services at Fix Car Now may be better, but for smog emissions repair, it didn't get the job done. Perhaps for others it could be different

Told me exactly how much it was going to cost upfront. Fixed it in thirty minutes an I was on my way. Definitely will go back.

be aware of these crooks!! i took my car because it was overheating, they diagnosed my car and said that the thermostat was causing the problem, we agreed over a price (which i found out later from experts that it was too inflated), the job was suppose to take no more than 2 hours , at the end day someone called to say we installed your thermostat , but your car is still heating up, we have to check the fan tomorrow .. the fan could be checked in 5 min by leaving engine on and should have been done first before installing any thermostat. so to make story short, i paid the full price for getting my car back exactly the way i dropped it the day before.

So, I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. I was absolutely blown away by the customer service at this place.
I came in with coolant leaking like no other!! It was the first time since not having a boyfriend that i had take care of car stuff all by myself, and im not gonna lie.. I was scared, nervous, and felt that i was guaranteed to get ripped off somewhere...
When I first came in Chance (the manager) and his mechanics thought it was a bad hose, but when they went to fix it, it was the intake manifold gasket.. Yikes!?!! Chance genuinely looked sad for me, which i appreciated because i assume most mechanics would be excited and see dollar signs..
I brought in a few days later, and still sure i was going to get ripped off (although he had been nothing but nice) i gave him a bottom line about what i was willing to pay.. Well not only did he stick to my bottom line, He also gave me a free oil change!!
It has been a month and my car is still running great!!
THis is for sure my go to mechanic now, and i am really grateful I found such an honest, straightforward place.!

Fix Car Now on Motor is great! My car was making a terrifying noise, so I had to find a place close to my work to get it fixed fast. I tried to remember the name of the place I'd gone to a year before for a different car issue, but I couldn't remember the name. So, per a coworker's recommendation, I went here. Come to find out, it was actually the place I'd been the year before that I couldn't remember! They replaced my brake pads in less than an hour so I could get to work on time, and they did a great job. No more noise! And they charged me a really fair rate. I will be back for sure!

I've been here twice and had great experiences both times. The first time my car needed some cosmetic surgery... a new passenger side mirror, a new headlight, and the glove compartment had been falling out. Chance, the owner, was really friendly and was really upfront about what my options were and how much it would cost. It turned out that he couldn't get a new mirror from the manufacturer, so he had to order it from somewhere else, which was more expensive. He asked my permission before he made the order. The glove compartment was repaired free of charge.
The second time I visited it was because the other headlight had gone out. Chance wasn't there but one of the mechanics interrupted his lunch break to change the bulb while I stood there. I was in and out in less than ten minutes, and the cost was a good $10 cheaper than what the guys at EZ Lube had wanted to charge me. I will definitely be back.

I would like to recommend this place to anyone who hates going to car repair places, and/or just doesn't know where to go, or who you can trust. It's hard to find any business let alone a car repair shop that is 100% customer service oriented, for real. I was so surprised to be greeted by Jimmy, one of the owners, who was genuinely kind, and caring, not to mention understanding when i told him my 'story'...taking your car in to get fixed, at least for me, is about as fun as going to the dentist, but as soon as i got to FCN, i realized it was going to be a different experience. Jimmy gave me a quick preliminary 'diagnosis' on my car door situation, and an initial quote, letting me know they would have to take it apart first to see what would be needed. So a few hours later i am told it would still take more time to get to the bottom of it, meanwhile, they gave me a loaner car, which was totally great, so i was able to get to work, without having to find a ride. They ended up finishing the work that day, and charged me the initial amount quoted. The door was fixed for a very reasonable price, and the whole interaction from start to finish could not have been better. This is what real service is supposed to look and feel like. Thanks FCN, i will definitely be back.

This was one of the most troubling service experiences I've had in a very long time. Though everyone started out friendly, the manager, Chance, and the Audi mechanic were rude, unapologetic, and mean once they realized they had done something wrong.
I brought my car in for a repeat and unresolved series of check engine codes. They assured me they could fix them. I showed them a stack of previous diagnostics and Audi warranty letters and said EXPLICITLY do NOT do any work that would fall under these warranties as Audi will do them for free. When I called to check on my car, they mentioned what they found and, even as a lay person, I said -- that sounds like one of the warranty items. Is is under warranty? No, they assured me. Are you sure? I asked again. No, it's not. So I authorized them to do the work. Low and behold, after calling Audi later in the day with some suspicion, the work IS under warranty. Originally Chance then agreed that it was his fault and he would cover the costs, but backed out when I called back to tell them not to do any further work. He said I should take this up with the mechanic when I went to pick up my car. That conversation was decidedly unpleasant. He had missed that piece of paper, no he did not and would not have checked to see if it was under warranty even though I, the customer, mentioned it numerous times and TRUSTED them to tell me if it was or was not, and -- finally -- he would no longer talk to me about my car because our relationship was over (his words).
Ultimately I had to pay $350 for work I would have gotten for free at the dealer with curt, unaccommodating, and unpleasant service.

Well, shoot. These peeps are great. I took my car to get checked out before I drove back to Austin for school. I have a 1998 Subaru, so rarely is it ever as simple as getting an oil change and rolling out. I dropped my car off in the morning and went back to pick it up knowing something was wrong. Naturally the timing belt was super worn and need to be replaced. I knew it was going to be costly, but I also knew it had to be done. The price was a little high, but considering I was leaving in a couple days to head back to Austin, I just needed it done and I needed it done well. My car has been running so much better ever since. Also, the mere sight of Troy makes you go weak in the knees so its a tad bit easier to cope with the cost. :)

Searched on Yelp to find somewhere local to get my oil changed. There weren't any places with a lot of reviews so I took a chance on this one.
Now all I was doing was getting an oil change, but it was a very good experience. We are all worried about/prepared to be annoyed by either:
a) Getting a Sell - "You see, it looks like your carborator fan has come loose from the spark plug switch. So we're going to have remove the engine casing and replace it with monkey stirrups. That's gonna be $400."
b) Getting The Suck - you drive away thinking you got what you asked for and are all good, except they didn't put something back together right or have without telling you removed the engine casing and replaced it with monkey stirrups. Which will cost you $400 to get fixed.
Chance, who is the owner, was there. He was friendly and made sure I got taken care of quickly. He explained everything, and even though it turrned out to be $5 more than I thought, the explanation made sense and turns out to be right (my car does use a more expensive oil).
So I am definitely going back again, and if something serious did happen to my car, I would give them a shot for that, too.

This place should change its name to FIX CAR NEVER! It would be hard to imagine a worse run business than this......a multitude of sins including: misleading advertising, shoddy work, a surly and ill tempered owner, estimates and deadlines meant only in jest, and a general attitude that "the customer is always wrong".....it took them three tries and a total of three weeks to repair a simple oil leak.....at the end of this process the car still leaked oil....and they refused to pay for the four quarts of oil that leaked out after they supposedly fixed the leak the first time. Don't believe the sign about "free loaner cars". They have one old beat up loaner vehicle, which even Rent a Wreck would have second thoughts about and you better not complain or the owner will say "Take the Bus"! There's no way I would ever go back there again.

I never have the time or even want to bother to log on and give people bad reviews, but this one is necessary. Terrible customer service, skeptical about the source of the other great reviews. Don't trust Jimmy with your car if you care to get your car serviced right. Too much ego, and instead of solving the problem, he would rather make excuses and try to make you think it is your fault. A quality such as that only limits the profitability and morale of a business. I feel sorry for the other employees who actually work there. In short, just be wary that this place will tell you that you need something when you really don't. I spent roughly $500 here, and still didn't get the problem solved. and if you still want to try going there, just make sure you know who is actually going to touch your car. I then took my car to another mechanic who had also heard from other customers that FixCarNow West LA misdiagnoses cars (probably why it's free) and they actually often work to repair the work done there. I was really hoping this place would live up to the reviews, but I was really disappointed. If you are going to spend your hard earned money on servicing your car, why not spend it somewhere that deserves it?

The guys at FixCarNow helped me out a lot this weekend. Excellent, efficient service. Honest. Decent prices.
My regular mechanic was closed, so I called Jimmy (co-owner with Chance) on a SUNDAY morning, during a holiday weekend, and told him what I thought was wrong with my classic, American car (needed a new alternator and serpentine belt). We talked about the parts he would need, and he told me bring the car in so he could have a look.
When I showed up, he and his mechanic, Doug, checked out the car, gave me a preliminary estimate, and told me they would try to get the job done by the end of the day. They also offered me a loaner car (it wasn't pretty, but it ran). I was in and out in 20 minutes - very efficient.
Five hours later, Jimmy called to tell me the job was done. As it was late in the day, he even waited a few minutes past 5pm to allow me to pick up the car. That's awesome customer service.
As a car guy, I know their prices were a touch high for a small shop - but they did give me a loaner car, and they used good quality, new (not remanufactured) parts. They also offer a warranty on both their parts AND their labor, which is comforting.
Having lived in LA for close to a decade, I'm glad to have found an honest, no-bs shop for minor repairs. Jimmy and Doug seem like excellent dudes, and I would recommend FixCarNow to anyone.

I put off major repairs for over a year because every quote I got was so expensive. When I moved to LA and called Fix Car Now by chance, not only did I get my timing belt and alternator fixed for half the cost of any other sketch mechanic, but the owner, Chance, gave me incredible advice on maintaining my car and has become a trusted mechanic. Their mechanics are paid hourly, which explains the amazing prices. Because they're honest, Fix Car Now has an incredibly loyal following (and I refer everyone I know to them for ANYTHING). It's SO hard to find an honest and fairly priced mechanic- don't even waste time with anyone else! Go straight to Chance!

When i first went to Fix car now i met Jimmy, one of the owners, he took care of me first, such a great guy! he was very nice, chill , informative and had great customer service. I need an oil change and information about replacing my timing belt. not only did he give me info bout my timing belt but suggested other things i should do to keep my car running in the great shape it has been. i've taken my car to other places and they didnt even bother to tell me, or show the things jimmy did, so thank god for him. He's very understanding, i told him my financial situation because replacing timing belts isn't the cheapest thing to have to deal with. He worked with me and helped me out big time. The next week i took my car in to do the replacements it needed and thats when i met Chance, the other owner. He got my car done faster than the expected time. chance took care me very well too. His customer service and genuineness made me feel like i'm in great hands. i'm very greatful for them. Both owners are great guys running a respected and honest shop. Finding an honest and trust worthy auto repair shop is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Well I found it with this place. They have consistently gone the extra mile to diagnose and solve my vehicle problems and they have always been reasonable with their pricing. This is one of those shops that I will be taking my car to for years and years. Whenever I have a problem or need service, I know these guys will take care of me. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

My check engine light went on last week. I went to Midas. They wanted to charge me $70 for a diagnostic. I went home and searched for other options. I brought my car into Fix Now Car and was nothing for the diagnostic, explained the three codes in detail, showed corrosion on my battery. They fixed the problem that same afternoon so I could get on my way.

I went to Fix Car Now based on a suggestion from a coworker. They were professional and very easy to work with. My car was done quickly though it came back with a scratch that wasn't there when I dropped it off (hence only 4 stars). However, the guy that "checked in" my car was honest and admitted the scratch was not there so they kept it an extra day and fixed the scratch. It would have been so easy for them to say the scratch was not caused by them, but they did not. They did the right thing and admitted to the fault. I am grateful to have such an honest car repair place nearby.

Come to find out a month later someplace else after thinking hey, you know, these brakes don't actually feel much better-- they only replaced the front brakes and rotors, and the back were metal-on-metal.
