When I called Shipman's repair for a diagnostic report the receptionist squeezed me in. So I arrived at the shop just 20 minutes later( I live close). When I came in I greeted by the receptionist, Carolyn and the owner, Mike Shipman. They seemed as thought they were glad that I was there. So while I waited, Carolyn Brought me water a sandwich ( the guys next door had brought subs over for lunch). She even say up a little table for me to eat on! She told me about the shops humble beginnings and made me feel "at home". The wait time was an hour and a half but he squeezed me in so I can't complain. Mike explained throughly what was wrong with my car. He took off half for the diag test being that I kind of already knew what was wrong with it. He also said that the money that I paid for the diag test could be used towards labor. The customer service at this place is PHENOMENAL but the price of labor is higher compared to RPM body shop on blanding( I called there first for a quote). I say this place gives you a piece of mind because these people are local and hardworking some business owners. Spend your money here folks!

I would like to give this auto repair shop 10 stars if it were possible. They worked diligently,carefully and completely to analyze a problem with our Ford truck which we were using to pull an RV from Florida to Massachusetts. This is a unique place which is fair,honest and professional. From the receptionist to the owners to their colleague mechanic these are talented people who take pride in providing a great service to any customer who walks through their door. I had the motor mounts on my Honda Civic replaced here and I couldn't be happier with the customer service and quality of work. The office is very comfortable and the candy bowl is a great touch :) I can't imagine getting this caliber of service and attention anywhere else.

My boss uses this company for our fleet vehicles and when I went and picked up my work van I was so impressed with there honest upfront approach that I brought my Nitro to get fixed today. I will say they did not disappoint the first impression at I guarantee you will not find better costumer service anywhere in jacksonville or Orange park! Finally found a truly honest sincere mechanic I would recommend these people to anyone, and saved me a good bit of money great prices fair, honest and upfront!

This is one great shop. You only deal with the owners, so you know the customer service is awesome. Every time I walk into this shop I feel welcome and very comfortable. This shop is very clean and orderly. I don't feel like I am going to catch something when walking in, like other shops I've been to. I would refer this shop to anybody needing an oil change to a complete overhaul. A++ in my book!

Excellent and trustworthy service. I found Ruth and Mike to be very friendly , fun and honest. Having my auto towed to the shop I expected the worse and was pleased when it turned out to be much less. I sprung for additional tune up work and now my 9-year old car runs as smooth as the day she left the dealership. Glad to find the best shop in town for my aging caddy.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Shipman Auto Repair!!! I am a travel nurse, and I get penalized for missed days from work. When I told them of my situation, they put me at the top of their priority list, and within less than 2 hours, had gotten the needed part from NAPA, installed, test drove, topped off fluids, and made me feel right at home. Master mechanic Mark spoke with my husband long distance on the phone to assure him that just what was necessary, and nothing additional was being performed on my car. I was back at work before lunchtime!! Incredible service, professional staff, clean facility, and very reasonable prices!!! I highly recommend this awesome facility to anyone! I was referred to Shipman Auto from another establishment and was told to speak initially with Ruth as she was very down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. On my way there I was not only frustrated, but skeptical, mainly because I'am a woman and I have been taken advantage of in the past, that I thought this experience was going to be more of the same. I couldn't of been more wrong and I'm so glad I was. Upon arrival, Ruth immediately realized that I was the referral, stopped what she was doing shooke my hand, introduced herself and immediately put me at ease. After telling her what problems I was having, I was introduced to Michael and he looked at my car thoroughly came back and told me his findings and the rest is history. As crazy as this may sound, I look forward to having Mike work on my car becasue that means I get to visit with Ruth and watch her's and Mike's professionalism and down to earth demeanor first hand. They truly are family to me and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you Ruth and Mike.

Hey Joe N- I am not an employee of Shipman Auto Repair but I can certainly tell you I observed what all they did for you and your vehicle. Not only did they trouble shoot your vehicle for HOURS and HOURS and did NOT charge you for that - it was a mess from what the mechanics stated. They gave you world class customer service and straightened up the terrible mess that someone left. You should be very happy about what they did for you and it cost you only a fraction of what they should have charged you. The dealership would have charged you four times what they did! Shipman Auto Repair is owned and operated by first class business people with only Master Mechanics. I have seen all types of customers with vehicles from old Mustangs, classic trucks, old and new GM, Cadillacs and imports including Hummers! They work alongside NAPA and other reputable vendors and stand behind their work and products. One customer in particular had their AC repaired at an out of state repair shop and only a few months later the same compressor went out and it would have cost thousands to repair!! Michael Shipman worked diligently with NAPA and not only found out the part was warrantied but did not even charge labor to install because NAPA stood behind the parts and labor!! NO ONE would have done that. I have trusted them for both of my vehicles and have seen more people come in there that I have personally referred to them and they would not go ANYWHERE else. They are THE BEST and Joe - you should remove your post. That is not true and they were much too generous and professional for you. Carolyn W

Ruth, mike and mark are fabulous. Normally when a woman goes to a repair shop they have to fight to get close to fair treatment. No one has to ever worry about that here. The fine people at Shipman's are the only ones I will trust with my Blue Betty.! Friendly AND knowledgeable office staff. Professional treatment,yet still warm. Treated me with respect and kindness and eased my worries. They really CARE about you and your car's safety. The mechanics are honest and thorough,and make sure you understand the whats and whys of your particular problems. I loved that I was taken back to the shop,where I could see with my own eyes while he was explaining the repairs that would need to be done. They even e-mailed me photos of the problem areas so I could enlarge them at home to see them better. To me,that is above and beyond good service.Upfront pricing and nothing is done that doesn't have your prior consent. The prices for their services are reasonable and affordable for me. The printout of projected future repairs with the prices was comforting,also. I know if I have a problem,they are a call away and will be glad to answer my questions. These are good people with good attitudes,and I will gladly drive past several repair shops to take my Betty to them. They took the time and the care that we both needed.

Highly recommend!! My family was on a road trip when we ran into van trouble as we were passing through Jacksonville and needed to figure out what was wrong. I looked up good repair places and found Shipman... Thankfully. They were incredibly friendly, they helped me understand the problem. They fixed it quickly and at a reasonable price so we could get back on the road ASAP. We've now made it home in DC and the van ran wonderfully. Thank you Shipman!
