Went in there to get my gear shift fixed. I provided them with a new gear shifter that fit the car perfectly. I just needed manual labor. They then proceeded to change my windshield wipers. Did numerous other changes to my car because "it needed it" and he supposedly fixed my alignment but that doesn't seem to be the case as it still pulls to the right. Do not come here if you are looking to get something simple fixed. Even after they promise you they will work with your budget. This place is a joke. Will never go back here.

About six months ago I bought a 2003 VW Passat for my son. I took it into Francisco's since a couple of my neighbors recommended them. Even though the previous owner had paid a small fortune maintaining the car, Francisco had to break the news that the spendathon wasn't over yet; the VW had a plugged core, dirty transmission fluid, and a few other problems. It took them about a week to complete the work, and I can't say that the bill was inexpensive (but what German cars are?)but I am pleased to report that the car still performs well. I plan on returning. These guys are pretty straight up, and they took their time to explain the situation to me, both on the phone and in person.

I love this place, Fransico and his team did a very good job on my car. He even fixed a few things for free. The guy down the street cut a newly installed door alarm/lock out of my car stating that was the issue. It wasn't...it was the starter, & the ignition switch. My car fires right up, every time. Another perk about this place is, it is walking distance to enterprise rental car (got a rental for less than 18$) a day. Ya can't beat that!! Yippie now I can do my job!

It breaks my heart that I have to give Francisco's Auto Repair such a low rating because I actually used to love and trust Francisco and his business. We were referred to his business about 9 years ago and would think of his place as the one place to go to for our car tune ups.
Unfortunately, I believe that as the years went by, maybe this year is a tough year for Francisco, I can no longer trust Francisco and his business.
For example, what would have been a $30 oil change (Honda dealerships charge only $29.00), I was billed $64 for an oil change on an older model Accord. Francisco told me nothing about an estimate of how much it would cost and it was funny because when I went to pay for the service done, it seemed like he himself felt guilty about billing an oil change at such a price.
Granted the total charge was $30 more than what I expected but honestly, oil changes at that rate usually involves higher end models such as BMWs and Mercedes. I know because some of my family members have such models.
Maybe Francisco does do good work and honestly, I don't mind paying a little more to help with local business but I am sure I can find another auto mechanic who can repair just as well and not charge 113% of the dealership cost. And we all know that dealerships tend to overcharge. So let me ask again, how can I trust Francisco and his business.
Regardless, part of it is my fault. I should have asked for an estimate of the service in writing so that I can determine if it is a cost I am willing to agree. For future reference and for any additional car repairs, an estimate is what I would ask for and should the service be billed more than what is estimated, I would request that the auto repair give me a call to confirm service and charge.
All in all, trust is not only developed through good work but also honest and reasonable billing. If I feel that I was "cheated" in billing, what would stop me from thinking that I was "cheated" in the quality of service.

We are from Las Vegas, NV and always road trip to CA for weekend get-a-ways. About half way through our trip from Las Vegas to Anaheim we started hearing an obnoxious thumping noise coming from underneath the car. We were doing about 80 in major winds and realized that the under panel came loose- which was causing the obnoxious noise. We pushed forward to Anaheim, and looked up various mechanic shops that were closer to Huntington Beach (our final destination). Francisco's was open at 7:00AM on a Saturday and had great reviews...
The first person to great us was Francisco himself, and he was more than happy to assist us in a quick fix to get us back on the road and provide peace of mind. While waiting for them to repair the under panel- we had the pleasure of speaking with Francisco and getting to hear his story. Francisco has been in business since 1985 and is actively involved in helping his community by providing goods and services to the homeless shelters. He also took the time to show us pictures of Crystal Cove and tell us all the places we should try and see while we were at the beach!
Once the work was completed on my car (and they were kind enough to check my fluid levels) I asked what my total was. Francisco politely told me "Just put 10 dollars in the homeless shelter jar and we will call it good." We put in a 20 :)
I am new to Las Vegas and still don't have a trusted Mechanic to take my car too- I hope that I can find one as kind and genuine as Francisco is... if ever I run into an issue while cruisin' over to CA, I know exactly where I will take my car! This could have been a horrible experience, and ruined the anniversary get-a-way, but Francisco ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for all your work and help!

Way back, about 15 years ago Francisco's was able to diagnose a problem that I had with my fairly new Izusu. I had taken it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. With a lot of hard work, Francisco's found it. My family has taken various problems to him over the years with only the best results. Yesterday I picked up my 2006 VW/Passat after having automotive locking system problems, malfunctioning in the the cooling system in addition to other issues. Again I was impressed with the service. Most of all , I appreciated the communication regarding the mechanical problems. I felt like part of the "family" as there are no barriers put up between the customer and the staff. Going to Francisco's Auto Repair was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Very poor customer service. After my car was supposedly fixed Francisco himself told me he didn't check the mechanics work and they didn't test drive the car after. Since I've gotten the car back it's been running a lot worse with the check engine light on and it stalls out while driving. This car was in perfect condition before it came to Francisco's and just had a complete tune up with a full diagnostic that shows the car was and always has been running great. He's was just supposed to do some AC work that's it. My Cadillac Allante is in horrible condition now. Francisco himself is an arrogant, rude,overcharging mechanic with a very bad attitude and he's very disrespectful. Since then I have brought my vehicle to another REAL shop and they are currently checking on the work that has been done at Francisco's. If this diagnostic comes back that Francisco's shop damaged my vehicle(which I'm sure it will) I will be suing Francisco's Auto repair. You can bank in that.

Terrible place. Warning, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR here. There are plenty of wonderful auto shops you can go to. The owner is a smooth talker and will try to go over your head with costs and work needed for your car. If you have AAA insurance, and your service was not up to par, contact AAA to complain and they will guide you through the easy process. I trusted this place. Took my family to get their car and mine fixed here several occasions, but the last one left a sour note.

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. I have been taking my Mazda 3 to Francisco for over 3 years. It has been a godsend. I feel lucky to have found a place that I completely trust and really takes care of the customer. Francisco is one of the friendliest guys you will ever meet. He (and the rest of the staff) really know how to treat a customer. They also do a great job repairing my car. I like the fact that when Francisco calls you to go over the repair costs, he does a great job of explaining what needs to be done immediately, and what could be done at a later time. He never pressures you into doing something you don't want to do or can't afford. I also like it that when I drop my car off I am always offered a ride home.

I've been to Franciscos twice now. The first time was 2 months ago and I bought a used car from him that he said was in great working condition. I had to come back this week because the starter was completely broken. I was really frustrated and had the car towed to his shop. First off, he only called me once the entire process. If I wanted to know what was happening, I had to call him. It was very annoying. He didn't really explain to me what he was doing and just kept throwing out prices and saying "OH, you're getting a good deal!!!" It took 2 days for him to do an hours worth of work and he charged me double what the part normally is. The labor was reasonably priced, I'll give him that. He also told me the first time I came in that if my car was dirty, the mechanics wouldn't respect my car. Just a weird thing to say. Anyway, I feel extremely ripped off and annoyed. I will not be returning.

Based on the reviews I decided to take my car here for some major maintenance (timing belt, spark plugs, valve seals and a new battery). When the work was done the final bill was huge. They padded with some unauthorized charges (eg. radiator cap, though they didn't mention touching the radiator). Their parts prices were triple what you could pay at auto zone. The car ran when I got it back, but the gas mileage soon declined and it developed a stalling problem. I took it to another mechanic who told me the previous mechanic failed to seal the erg tube causing a vacuum leak, didn't secure a ground strap and didn't bother to replace a couple if bolts. Sloppy work at sky high prices. Too bad Francisco seemed nice and knowledgeable. Maybe he doesn't know what his lead mechanic is up to.

I took my focus to the ford dealership because I had bought the prepaid maintenance package. I asked them to check on my car because it was stalling, my Bluetooth/sync because it seemed the microphone was broken, and perform an oil change. Not only were they rude and condescending, the only thing they did was switch out my oil. And I had to call several times to find out what was going with my car and finally 8 hours later they told me that they couldn't duplicate the stalling issue or the Bluetooth/sync issue therefore there was nothing wrong with my car. When I picked up my car it stalled right after I picked it up, the Bluetooth was still not working and my tire pressure was very low. So I took my car to Francisco's and they checked out my car, found the problem right away, and called the dealership for me to tell them the issue that needed to be fixed because it was covered by my warranty. I had him do the oil change because they did it right and had it washed before I picked it up! Thanks Francisco's!

Francisco, Mario and his whole team are the best. They helped me out with a major timing chain issue that I thought I could fix myself. They took the time to not only fix the problem correctly, but also explained what I did wrong. I could have had a major engine issue if I didn't take it to them. There is nothing quite like having a good mechanic. It's a peace of mind like having ample insurance or job security. Francisco gives you that peace of mind. You can be assured that if you take your cars to Francisco, you will be in good hands. My family was recommended to him via word of mouth. Ten years later, we continue to recommend him to anyone wishing to get a problem fixed correctly and thoroughly or just maintain the condition of a newer or older vehicle. My wife and I continue to use him...even though we live in Fullerton 20 miles away!
He always is very proactive and thorough in everything that he does. He always uses genuine manufacturer parts, maintaining the warranty of any vehicle. One thing that I always appreciate is that if there are several things that need to be fixed (read: $$$), Francisco will always suggest ways to take care of the most important things first and come back for other things at another time, thus saving you money. He regularly sends out coupons and other money saving advertisements. His entire staff is friendly, professional, and very honest. They even offer a shuttle and/or other accomodations.
I appreciate having a trustworthy, reliable, and throrough mechanic like Francisco and his staff. I know the job will ALWAYS get done correctly!

I found Francisco's about a year ago, when searching for someone to replace my car's radiator. I had placed 10+ inquiries for quotes and Francisco himself was the first to respond. From the beginning, his easy going nature made me feel at ease. He sensed that I was shopping and was very confident in telling me to go ahead and get quotes. He also let me know about specials/coupons that he had that would benefit me. I did my due diligence and decided to give Francisco a try.
The service and his team's willingness to explain procedures to me, made me feel good about my choice. I was very pleased with the service, pricing, and demeanor of both the owner and the staff.
Since then, they are the only repair shop that I bring my family's cars to, and I feel confident in referring Francisco's to my friends.

Dammit! Car died...but it's not his fault, I should listen to him when he says he isn't feeling well.
Took him into this place (BF has gone there for a while) since I don't know where else to go.
The office staff are all very friendly and competent and really fast getting you in and out.
Asked them to check my charging/electrical system since my newly replaced battery wouldn't keep a charge. They got back to me in about 4 hours....pretty fast for a shop in OC!
Of course there were other things they said needed to be done, but they gave me a list prioritizing each repair and how urgent it was.
Repairs definitely less expensive than at dealer and about average for OC.
Very fast service. Had oil sender unit, alternator, oil pump replaced and it only took two days.
LOVE THIS PLACE and will go to it even though I am about 10 miles away...gotta stop just taking car in when it is totally wiped. My bad.

Francisco's overcharged me for a diagnosis and induction cleaning, told me my truck was fine. My engine blew within a month of them inspecting it. My 2001 Toyota Tacoma was misfiring badly when I took it to them. They told me they changed the spark plugs and that there was no misfiring to diagnose. Either way my engine check lite was off and they told me it was fine so I paid them for the diagnosis and another $220 to clean out the injectors (which they told me would be $120 on the phone). I don't know what a $200 dollar diagnosis should cover, but I would expect that if they told me my engine was fine, that it would be. I will never use these guys again. I will take them to court to get my money back since they also refused to refund me on their misdiagnosis. See you in court Francisco you jerk

Franciscos auto repair is a SCAM!! I totally got ripped off. My first impression of Francisco's Auto Repair was a good one. But Shane has terrible customer service issues after he has the vehicle. I dont know why maybe he needs customer service training. I am surprised he still gets customers with the attitude he gives. I could swear the he wants you to leave him alone. I will never go back and I will spread the word He has had my vehicle for 3 weeks for a muffler job! Huh! $2000.00+ I agreed but will never go back. Be careful don't be fooled.... Pros: NONE... This place is AWESOME!! I recommend Francisco's Auto Repair for professional and trustworthy service. We live in LA and my car broke down because of a cracked radiator in the Huntington Beach area and I had no idea where to take my car to be fixed. We first had the car towed the local Pep Boys and they gave me a ridiculously high estimate. Fortunately, we looked online again and found Francisco's.Eric and Leah were incredibly helpful and gave us a very fair estimate for replacing the radiator and 2 tires. They were also very fast...our car was ready to be picked up the same day that we dropped it off. They even surprised us and had it washed. What more could you ask for! Thank you!!

Sick Running Ford F-150 2001
