I would highly recommend Car Care Clinic. When I stopped in for an oil change, I was not expecting the service that I got. The lady at the front desk was lovely. She was very king and helpful. The oil change was done quickly, and they didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I really appreciated this.
The waiting area was clean and comfortable. It was a nice place to wait. They offered soda and water.
The nice surprise was the card that was left in my car. It had two suckers on it and let me know that I could stop by to get my fluids and air pressure checked and topped off at no charge.
I will defiantly be coming back here. I plan on bringing my husband's vehicle in for an oil change in a couple weeks.
Again, I would highly recommend going here.

After passing by this repair shop for years, I'm thrilled that I finally stopped and gave them a job. Pricing seemed fair and their customer service and attention to detail was out of this world. Have been back twice since then and will use them as my to go car repair shop in the future. For me having a trustworthy car repair shop is right in line with finding a good doctor, dentist, hair stylist and bike mechanic. Thumbs up!

My neighborhood garage. Smart, friendly, honest and skilled, they really do it all. Aside from competitive labor rates and access to high quality parts also at reasonable prices, their customer support is first rate: (how many other garages invite you to drop by between oil changes for an oil top off, fluid/air check for free?)
Thrilled to have a place like this just walking distance from my house. My only gripe is I wish they were also open Saturdays.

Jeff Jensen (owner) has been my mechanic for 30 years. If you want your car fixed right the first time, this is the only place you need to go. Jeff has saved me plenty of cash by the things he won't do. He will tell you if something doesn't need to be replaced because it is still within tolerances. His shop will note what to keep an eye on and how long you can still go before work needs to be done unlike so many other shops. Jeff is definitely in it for the long term and it shows in the quality of his workmanship. Everyone who works here has that same attitude.

When we first moved here 3 years ago, we had car troubles and didn't know where to go. We want to a few chain mechanic companies and we never seemed to leave these places without the employees "discovering" more problems. We finally decided to check out Car care clinic due to its convenient location for us. They have been honest, friendly and consistent. With an older vehicle, there is always something, but car care clinic keeps it real with us - Some things need fixed now, some later and some never. We are glad to have found this place.
I almost forgot - I really enjoy their decorations. They decorate for every single holiday and they have given me carnations near Valentine's Day and ornaments during Christmas - adorable.

Don't bring you car here! This place rips off customers by charging excessively on parts, when most places just charge for the labor and the cost of parts, They even charge an extra 25% on the labor if you bring your own part. And oh yeah, the owner is a real jerk.

Car Care Clinic was recommended very highly to me by an ASE certified mechanic at Jiffy Lube when his garage was unable to provide the work I needed (brake inspection and service.) It speaks volumes that a qualified mechanic takes his own car to Car Care Clinic when he doesn't have the time to do his own work. I had a great experience with them: drove right up, no appointment needed, diagnostics done within 15 minutes, quoted a fair price (less than what Midas quoted for the same repair), service completed in about an hour while I waited in their very comfortable waiting room with lots of amenities. Jeff and his mechanics were great: explained everything to me and discussed what should be done and what could wait, showed me my parts and explained what was wrong with my brakes, went over their generous insurance policy, etc. I drove away very satisfied, and the brakes are working great! Overall outstanding customer service and efficient, quality work done in a very convenient way. I will absolutely be returning for my future car needs, and give them my highest recommendation.

Only had a brief, one-time encounter with this shop so far, but their service was fantastic!
My side door was closed while holding the handle in a way that prohibited the locking mechanism from working (leaving my door uncloseable, which was interesting driving while my passenger held the door closed, but still ajar). Obviously this would 1) drain my battery with a door open, and 2) be problematic in winter with a door ajar in outside, public parking. As soon as it happened, I drove to the closest mechanic/auto shop I knew of which happened to be the Car Care Clinic on Univ. Ave.
Craig got my details, set up an estimate of roughly $130 to repair (in the worst case scenario of disassembling the door to fix it), and we waited. Luckily for us, it didn't seem busy, and within 15 minutes, they had pulled the car into the garage to inspect. Another 5 minutes later, they pulled the car out and were done. When Craig called us back up, he briefly explained the cause and the repair, and said the service was done without charge!!! FANTASTIC!
It's really great when a truly small car problem can be examined, fixed within minutes, and the shop is willing to build rapport with customers by offering their services (for such small issues) without charge. They easily could have charged $20-30 for it, but I'm impressed they didn't and went the route of service that is above and beyond. Excellent job guys!
One negative comment or constructive criticism, it seems like there are some loose tiles near the kids area in the waiting room, might be dangerous, but a parent should spot it and be able to control their kid(s) anyway. Thanks again!

Have had several large repairs done here and they have always fixed everything in a timely fashion, have never gone over estimate, and have not tried to sell me anything I didn't actually need. Very convenient to UW campus/UW hospital to drop off my car in the AM for maintenance and pick it up in the afternoon.

I took my car in because the heat wasn't working and there was smoke coming from under the hood. About an hour later, they had everything completely fixed and working perfectly. It didn't cost much either! They were super friendly and nice about explaining to me what was wrong with the car. I will definitely be going back there and would recommend this place to other people too!

TL;DR - Shop didn't upsell any work I didn't need, work was done within a reasonable time frame, friendly staff. Longer version: Just moved to the area. In another life I spent several years as a service writer for my family's auto shop. Prior to moving to the area (and the subsequent drive from there to here) I knew exactly what work had been done on my car and what it might need. I also had a pretty good idea for the time frame to expect the work to be done in, and had a good estimation of the price in my head once they told me what needed work. Since I always plan to leave it with the shop for at least an overnight stay when it's more than an oil change or brakes, the time frame that they needed wasn't an issue at all. They did not recommend excess work (i.e. -- a fluid flush or plugs when I did not need it), the work they recommended was reasonable for what I had done with the car between shop visits, and they called both to get my permission before the work was done and to update me on one complication that arose before asking permission again. Their service writer was friendly as all get-out, and the tech/mechanic I talked to on the phone was also very polite. It was exactly what I expected given my previous background working in a family-owned auto shop in a different state, and I'll keep taking my car back there for its maintenance/work until there's a solid reason to stop. Even the complaints I read in the other reviews are exactly the same type of complaints I'd field at my family's shop (grumbles over charging for diagnostic labor, owner's personal parts issues), with the same responses we gave. Pretty much sealed the deal for me, personally speaking. Give these guys a chance, and hopefully you'll be as happy with their work as I am.
