MUST READ REVIEW***
I took my car to this shop after my car was hit by another driver while being parked on the street. There was not too much damage to my car, just needed to fix my left rear wheel and tire; bumper; and front left fender.
**My car was in the GnD auto shop for a total of 47 days!!!**
47 days?!?! That is way too long!!
Here is what happened...
After yelping a lot of body shops in OC, I noticed this shop and it's great ratings. So I called and Angela answered and had my car towed to the shop. She informed me it would take about two weeks to fix my car. Throughout the two weeks, I did not receive any phone calls or any status updates on the progress of my car. So I had to call Angela to get the status of the repairs myself. After two weeks go by, Angela tells me it may take another "week or TWO." I was ok with that, so I let another week and a half go by and still no one called to me keep me updated on the status of my car, I had to reach out to them throughout the two weeks AGAIN to find out what is going on. The second week goes by and I call again and Angela tells me that they were in need of additional parts and that there needed to be a supplements from the insurance. She told me it may take up to another two weeks and not to worry. I was very worried because my rental was only covered for 30 days and my car was in the shop for more than 35 days AND they said they needed it still in the shop for another week.
So another week goes by, I finally go in person to check the status of my car. As soon as I get there, the woman (Angela) I was dealing with this whole time left for vacation without giving me a heads up. So her nephew was now in charge of the job and he was picking it up halfway through the process and was unaware of everything that was going on. I finally got to see my car at the shop and it so happened it was in the paint room getting a new paint job at that time. The nephew (Johnathon) told me he would have the car ready for pick up by the end of the week (4 days). 4 days pass and I receive a call saying that he needs the car until the following Tuesday because they are missing yet another part and need to call for a supplement from the insurance AGAIN! Luckily, he was actually able to finish the car by that following Monday (45 days from dropping it off at the shop)!!
So I go to pick up my car and sure enough it looked to be in one piece and looked fine EXCEPT the tire and wheel they fixed was missing it's hubcap. Johnathon said he had to order it and should have it for me to pick up at the end of the week. Ok fine it was just a hubcap no big deal, UNTIL I started to drive my newly fixed car and the wheel alignment was ridiculously off. The car kept steering far to the right. I call Johnathon to see if they can fix the alignment. He said no problem he will have his friend down the street do it in one day.
I go and drop off the car at the shop again for the alignment and they covered a small rental car for me for the day. Later that same day, I receive a call from Johnathon saying that he may need the car for another 2 days because it looks like they were missing another crucial part for the wheel so they need yet ANOTHER supplement from the insurance.
After this whole nightmare, I finally picked up my car. All the wheels had the hubcaps however the alignment was still off. After all that time, my car still did not feel like it was completely fixed. I also check the inside of my glove compartment where I keep my iPhone white earphones and the white wire on the earphones were all dirty and had all kinds of black marks on them as if a mechanic touched them with their dirty hands. So I'm guessing while they fixed my car, someone decided to use my earphones...
Angela was nice enough to waive my insurance deductible. However, the customer service I received from GnD was very VERY disappointing. The un-organization on their part and bad communication is what really disappointed me because I read all the good reviews and expected to be treated like a valued customer. My experience with GnD was FARRR from being treated like a valued customer. And to top it all off, the length of time that it took them to fix my car (which didn't have that much damage) was really unacceptable. My car was at GnD for a total 47 days. That is a ridiculously long time to fix a few things on a car. I can see if I was in a huge accident ok, but 47 days?!? For a small repair and small paint job??!? Come on, they could have completed that job in two weeks if they really wanted to.
I honestly feel like they took advantage of my insurance and put my car on the back burner and didn't take any initiative to fix my car nor help me in a timely manner. That is why I was really disappointed with their service and give them a 1 star.

I was a single mom raising a kid when I first found G & D Auto Collision in Yelp in 2011. I wanted someone I can trust with my only means of transportation which was a 2003 Ford Explorer. I have been getting my car serviced at G&D for over 5 years now. My only son is now 17.5 years old and getting ready to go off to college. He is looking to inheriting my old 2003 Ford Explorer. I was happy to bring him in and introduce him to Angela at G&D Auto so my son can see what it is like to own an auto. We asked G&D to replace the brakes and bearings and confirm that the car is road worthy. Thanks to G&D, our good ole American car which had about 180,000 miles is purring like a kitten. It feels safe and reliable for my one only child to drive while he is away to college.
Here's another story about G&D... My fiance has an 2005 Audi which is treated like his "baby". This car has very little mileage always been serviced at the Audi dealership. During a routine oil change, the Audi dealership mentioned that the car needed the front & rear brakes and rotors replaced and was wanting to charge us close to $1500. We brought the car to Angela and she gave us a very competitive estimate with original audi parts. We gave G&D the green light to start the repairs. However, when the mechanics looked at it, they saw that the brakes and rotors were still good. Angela called us back and told us the truth. She could have easily done the repairs just to make a profit. G&D Auto is definitely one of a kind. There is absolutely no doubt that this is the best place to take your car for repairs!

I love this shop!!! The family is so nice and treat you so well. I was in an accident 9 years ago and they did such a wonderful job and helped me get through all of it with wonderful service. I remembered them when I recently had another accident. They have once again done great work. Especially since it is the same car and is now older and harder to find parts etc. They take great care of you and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who needed their services. They give fair prices and do great work as well as having wonderful customer service. It is hard to finds that in places these days let alone all of it in one place. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ENJOY A CAR ACCIDENT?? YES!!!! Angela and her team assisted this female first timer from start to finish!! I was treated like family and I felt like I had a support team the whole way through. I felt that Angela was going to take care of me no matter what, so that I could actually get on with life while knowing she had everything handled. My car came back better looking than before the accident!! And clean too, I have a five year old so that in itself, was worth everything!!. The bumper on my Jetta was recently hit and was left with a deep scratch and hole in my bumper. My entire bumper ended up needing to be replaced. This is my first time getting body work done on my car and I was not sure what to expect or what the experience would be like.

Ended up taking less time, which is pretty rare for any type of shop having to do with automotive repairs/maintenance. This place is great! I came in a few months back when my car was hit not once but twice in two months. They repaired the front right passenger side all the way to the back bumper. She gave me a quote right away and my insurance covered it no problem. Even the insurance company told me how nice Angela was! She's the sweetest and has a customer for life over here from now on!

I needed my car fixed after being hit in a parking lot. Had no idea where to start. A friend recommended this Establishment and I couldn't be happier. My car is back to looking awesome and I wasn't expecting them to clean and detail the inside but they did !!! I have had my car repaired here twice and my daughter has had hers repaired at least 4 times in the last year and a half! (Sad I know!)
Angela greets everyone with a smile! And treats you like family! This last time, my daughter tried to avoid a dead dog in the road and ran into the center divider. She ruined both tires, both rims and caused suspension damage to her BMW. Angela, fixed the car (well as much as the insurance would approve) we were not satisfied and fought with the insurance for several weeks to do what was needed to put the car back to pre accident condition. They wouldn't budge, so Angela took care of it herself with no charge.
She has always offered us rides and loaner cars, she has gone above and beyond. Having you return as a customer is important to G & D and they treat in a way that would make you WANT to come back. Their aren't many businesses like this any more and I am so glad I live near this one!

What a nightmare, so now on or about May 19th, 2015, GND had a "litigation attorney" send me a letter saying now I owe for $7,500 in storage fees for my vehicle, and threatening me with a lawsuit.
What a joke!
Yesterday, Angela is calling my family asking questions about me and crying saying that "why would I pick GND to cause problems!" Are you kidding? Then she continues to harass my family and making threats that she will have me "hurt" and have me "arrested".
HELLO ANGELA! Are you listening? STOP HARASSING ME AND MY FAMILY WITH YOUR DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS!
Looks like we may be heading for a great fight in court!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you ever need collision repair, please do yourself a favor and come here. I got a quote from some place in LA and they made me feel so bad about side scrapping another car. I felt awful when I left and the quote was devastating. I found G&D on Yelp because of their great reviews and came here. I was immediately was given a quote for one-third the quote the other people gave me and they reassured me fixing it was no problem. Turn around time was quick and the car looked as good as new. Hopefully I wont be in another accident but if I am I know Im in good hands when I take my car to G&D.

You can trust this place. I'm restoring a classic car and I needed some medium level body work. They don't typically do restoration projects but Angela told me she would look at the car anyway. I got an estimate that day and left my car there. The work was high quality and the final bill was the exact same as the estimate. Also her estimate was almost half of what I had been quoted elsewhere. Customer as long as I'm in SoCal now and already passed her number along to some friends. You'll feel like family here. Also Angela knows cars and body work, just take her advice if she gives it.

I needed some body work done on my Lexus RX350 just before Christmas (2015), and Angela and George and their outstanding team did a tremendous job for me. The vehicle looks like new! Angela, who runs the show, was considerate, communicative and extraordinarily accommodating. The price was very reasonable and the results were superb. And, to top it off, they completed the whole job and my Lexus was ready for me on Christmas Eve!
As a consumer, I had never enjoyed dealing with auto dealers, repair shops, and especially auto body shops. Well, I found one exception! Although I certainly don't intend to need G&D's help again, I know exactly where to go if any of my vehicles could use some body work. I've been telling everyone I know about G&D... and that includes anyone who is reading this review. So, NOW YOU KNOW!

5 stars again! Let me explain.. A few days ago, the passenger side door of my car started closing weird. It was like I had to slam the door to close it and I kept thinking I was gonna break the window or something. This is strange since no one ever sits on the passenger side, and I don't remember doing anything to my car that would have made it off balance. It's a 2003 mustang so I figured since its old, I might have an expensive problem on my hands. Wrong! I stopped by G & D on my way home from work, and Angela drove it back to have someone check it out. Ten minutes later, she's like "your window was rolled up way too tight, try to be careful when you roll it up before you close the door." And didn't charge me anything! Thank you Angela!! I know I have an old car, and tiny problems like this can happen. But knowing that G & D will always be honest with me and not charge me for silly things (most places would have charged me for a new door or something) I feel so relieved. I feel like family ; ) I wish more businesses treated their customers like Angela treats me!

Highly recommend. Honest people good prices and great service. I shopped around and got three quotes. D&G had the best combination of price, service and attention to detail. We decided to keep my wife's 2001 Toyota Sequoia which runs great mechanically but needed to have some paint work done to keep it looking great. D&G was the auto beauty spa treatment. I am so glad I ran into this place. :) Angela is really nice, sweet and helpful! Every time I walk into their lobby, I always see new flowers there, given to her by satisfied customers. There are "Thank You" cards plastered on her walls. :)
I had initially gotten an estimate from a different auto shop. They also added in the bumper because they said since my latch was broken, it constituted as a new bumper replacement, or something like that. I didn't like that because there was rarely any damage. So then i came to this place, due to the help of Yelpers and Angela quoted me at a cheaper price, (she told me i didnt need to replace the bumper, that she will just repair it) i also asked about other internal damages and it seemed like a fair price. This place, like many others were mentioning, did take a bit longer than some. But Angela did explain that they were super busy, and were even backed a bit. I totally understand because they seemed to have so many customers walking in and out. But they made sure everyone walked out happy. I loved seeing my car again, it was nice and clean =]

Took my Accord in to have several parts of the exterior repainted. I was prepared to have much more of the car painted, nearly the entire thing, but Angela explained that this was not necessary, that 50% of the car's finish could be saved. That saved me a good chunk of change. She really understands what it takes to create a loyal customer--she is very real and genuine, very attentive to the customer's needs, the price was very good, and, most importantly, the job they did on my car was terrific.
After my experience with G&D I had no problem referring my fiance's car to them, and as long as they're in business I'll be referring family and friends.

After visiting other shops including Caliber Collision and Gustafson Brothers, I was frustrated and overwhelmed. I then found G & D through Yelp!, and based on my experience, all of the feedback and reviews are TRUE.

I think in general this is a great place to go to get your car fixed. if you are on a tight schedule, then you may think twice b/c I think it's difficult for many auto body shops to have a firm date. That being said, I was disappointed that my car pick up date was pushed back however everything else went really smoothly.
The price point was average if not on the lower side and the service was great.
Like everyone has said, Angela is great if not the most knowledgeable, and seems in high demand. I would post "before and after" pics but seeing pictures of my crunched car makes me super sad, but they did do a perfect job of replacing it, good as new.

1. I was told to turn my car in in the morning, which I did. I never received a follow up call so I called them a day or two later inquiring about it--they didn't even know it was in the shop! Some form of miscommunication happened so they didn't know they had it hence did not start to work on it.
2. I had to call them every time. I'm not super neurotic, so it's not like I needed a daily update, but they never called me, I always had to call them. Also, they weren't sure if we had to do extra work on the car so it's like, I would like to know if there needs to be extra work done or not...
3. I was told it would be finished by Friday, I called on Friday morning because I hadn't received any call on Thursday and wasn't sure what was going to happen. Ugh, turns out it won't be ready until Saturday maybe not even til Monday. Disappointing.
I just felt like there was little following through and I had to keep calling them again and again, but I guess that's just how things are in general for most auto body shops?

I dropped my terribly damaged Lexus off here today. My car is my baby so I was relieved to speak with Angela. She made me feel that she was going to make sure that my body work would turn out great. I trust this shop. As I was there I noticed that they were working on several beautiful high end cars, and happy costumers were walking in and out as I waited. I have no doubt that I will be more than happy! I noticed a few people have posted that it took too long to get their car back, but with something this important, I'd actually feel better if they take their time and get the job done right. Some things are worth the wait. I am not a fan of rushed work. It's nice walking out of a body shop feeling that things are going to be handled. So far so good!!! Very good customer service.

I really wanted to give this shop 5 stars. They are a family run business and everyone I dealt with was very nice.
I'm only giving 3 stars because of false promise. During our consultation, G&D suggested they would touch up some minor blemishes/scratches/dings on my car while it was in for a separate repair. This was above and beyond and certainly unexpected. I was thrilled!
However, when I picked up my car, not a single ding that we specifically discussed was touched. I would have been more satisfied and all expectations would have been met had we simply not discussed the additional 'free' service. But making a promise of above and beyond service and then failing to deliver was like letting the air out of the balloon.
Beyond this, service was good, timely, and the price was significantly better than another local body shop.

No one can compete with the 5 star customer service these guys offer. Angela (owner) and J-Paul are on top of their game from start to finish. They are genuine in trying to help their customers. They treat everyone like their own family. I dropped my car off and Angela had her daughter give me a ride home. Everyone was so nice and courteous that it reminded me of a small town in another world; not something you find often in Orange County. I am writing this review 1.5 years after my car was serviced. 3 months later, got hit in this car for the second time! My bumper had a small section of 7 or so shallow, long dents, but being a lease they had to go away. Brought my car back to G&D and they again did an awesome job smoothing out the dents, did a perfect color match, and even the clear coat texture seems to be similar. I'm happy with their work, price, and time it took for the second time around. Here's hoping there is no third time.

After going through a nightmare with my insurance company and going through hoops and loops looking for a auto body repair shop, I finally found the gem of Orange County. I must have visited about 8 local shops before making my selection to go with G & D Auto. This was the best decision I have probably ever made in regards to my car. Angela has got to be one of the most experienced, sweetest, honest and caring people in the business and anyone that says anything bad about her must be lying. My car came here 5 days ago in really bad shape on a flat bed tow truck. Today I am picking it up and it looks better than the day I picked it up from the dealership when I bought it. Seriously I will post the pictures in this review. The whole experience was enjoyable, from working with Angela to picking up my car today which was detailed and looks brand new. If you are looking for the best of the best I would definitely recommend this shop. Trust me, bring your car to G & D if you need repairs.

A few weeks ago I was driving down the 5 fwy late at night, I ran over some sort of object 10 minutes before making it home. When i got home i discoverd the reason for the unpleasent noise my BMW was making. Turns out my entire bumper was caved in. I took the car too G&D Auto as I have dealt with them in the past. Angela the biggest sweetheart in the world, made sure that I was taken care of right away and dealt with my insurance for me. Now in less than 4 day's my car looks better than ever. Unlike the other positive reviews, my experience was not as good as other body repair shops.
First, they informed me that the repair would take 3 days. "Guaranteed", they said. It took 6 days and the repairs were not significant. The tech told me that they didn't start on my car until the 4th day! "Why?", I asked. "Because we had other cars..." Well, then let me bring my car back when you have time and I do not incur higher rental charges. They get your car in and keep it so they get your repair.
Second, the repair was not completed and I had to return to make sure they finished the work.
Third, they informed me they repaired one side, when the estimate stated the other. I had to drive back and show them that their paperwork was contrary to their statements.
In conclusion, nice people, but shop around.
There are many other shops in Costa Mesa.
You can do better!

Words cannot express how awesome this body shop is. From the moment you walk into this shop you are greeted with a smile and superb customer service. The whole process dealing with Angela and family was outstanding. My car was hit on a side street in Orange County and I had it towed directly to G&D auto. My car was severely vandalized and my auto insurance suggested I go to another shop. I searched on yelp and was horrified to see the reviews, so after some searching, I found G&D Auto Collision and their reviews were at 5 stars.
You can't have 5 stars for shotty jobs and crappy customer service right?
So I convinced my auto insurance company to let me go to G&D instead AND I could not be any happier with my decision! I dropped my car off late on a Saturday and they had my car ready by Friday afternoon (so a little less than a week) which according to my auto insurance company is standard (if not quicker than other auto shops). I have a red car so I was worried that they would have trouble matching the paint. They didn't! Solid and clean work and my car even looks cleaner than it did before I brought it in.
Such an amazing family-owned business with Angela being at the forefront of excellent customer service and making me even feel like I was part of the family. I would highly recommend G&D Auto Collision Inc to anyone and everyone!

I had two cars repaired here now. Both of my vehicles were repaired for about half the cost of what other places estimated. They repaired one for under the estimated cost. What other place would estimate the cost and then repair your car for less? If you can find one, I want to know about it.
If you're looking for a place that will get everything exactly perfect the first time and you're not on a tight budget, then look elsewhere but if you're like me and you want to get an excellent repair job at rock bottom prices then this is the place for you.
Angela, one of the owners, goes out of her way to make you happy. If there are any problems with the repair just bring it to Angela's attention and it will be fixed.
As with any repair shop, I'd recommend taking pictures of your entire car, inside and out, before the repairs, just so you have documented exactly what the vehicle looks like and what condition each part on the car is in.
This is a family owned and operated shop.

I was referred to G & D Auto Collision after I got hit in a car accident. Being new to the area and feeling out of place I was hesitant to go anywhere, on top it I was tired of dealing with car insurance manipulating lingo.
Angela was SOOOO helpful, I felt totally taken care of, she arrage car rental and talked to the other parties insurance to get me the best repairs and an upgrade on the car rental.
Two and a half weeks later I picked up my car and she even fixed a little scratch I had on the other side of the car for free.

Angela is a ROCK STAR!
This is the third time I have had the pleasure of taking one of my cars to her and I could not recommend G&D high enough!
I have a BMW 325 that has been there once, and this was the second time for my vintage BMW 2002. All three times has been due to a collision and each and every time we have not only gotten a great deal in regards to price, the workmanship has been beyond reproach.
Now...nobody is perfect, and painters make mistakes, but Angela inspects each and every car herself and if there is even the slightest flaw, she has it taken care of straight away without question.
You really get the feeling that you are the most important customer in her life and she goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. She's really fun to watch....hustling and bustling to get everybody taken care of and her bubbly personality is infectious!
I am very particular about my cars and am happy to write this review which is something that I very rarely do.
If you want good work at a fair prices by someone who you can trust.....then take your car to Angela. Nuff said.... :o)

Angela is one of the sweetest individuals I know. My whole family take our cars and put it under her care, we know she will make sure to take REALLLYYYY good care of our da-to-day transportation. Angela is the best, just like everyone has reviewed on her and her shop. My car's bumper was hit lightly when parked in a shopping mall. I first took the car to the dealer's appointed body shop which quoted quite expensively. Then I looked up at yelp and found 2 shops. I chose G & D because so many people wrote great things about Angela, and also the shop is closer to my home. Sure enough, the initial quote was almost $200 less. When they first started the job, they realized that the bumper costed more than they quoted to me. However, Angela was so good in taking up the cost difference and did a superb repair job at the original price. She even gave a car wash and it looked brand new when I went to pick up. I had an INCREDIBLE experience with G&D auto collision. Angela was extremely helpful in making sure the entire process was easy and ran smoothly. She stood as the middle man for me in my situation with the person who hit me and she made sure that I was always happy with her service. I was in LA for a short while and unfortunately had a collision; luckily not severe. I did not know anyone in the area and relied on Yelp to find someone. I chose G&D because of the quality and number of reviews and it turned out to be a great choice.
Everyone I met and talked to was very professional and the quality of the work was totally sound. But more important for me was that they worked to get the repairs done expeditiously because I needed the car (SUV) to get my gear back to the Bay Area. I was very grateful for the efforts they made to keep their commitment on the schedule. I would highly recommend the company.
The bad part was leaving the shop getting picking up my stuff, then onto I5 and hitting a 4 plus hour jam heading up to the grapevine!

I bought a 2005 Black Prius with a fair amount of damage on the passenger side door panel and the surrounding panels. I was a bit concerned that maybe I had paid too much for the car when I received a quote from one autobody shop. I then thought I would get a second opinion from another shop, but when I took my car in to the other shop for an autobody repair estimate, they told me that they are more of general auto repair service, but instead gave me a strong recommendation to go to G & D Auto Collision. So I decided to give G & D a try but truly was not expecting a much better quote. I did look them up on Yelp and found that the reviews were very good and they came highly recommended, so that was good to know.
After waiting for Angela at G & D to finish up with another customer (who by the way looked very satisfied), Angela came over and introduced herself and her company. She explained to me that G & D was a family owned business, and I really enjoyed getting to know their history. I explained my situation and ended up getting a quote from G & D. Angela personally went over the quote and the car in detail with me. I could tell right off the bat that she and G & D had integrity and really cared. The quote was more than reasonable, and I decided I would move forward with the work.
The car was ready when Angela promised. However, Angela asked me if she could keep the car one more day to do a bit of extra work. I said that would be great and I was amazed at the end result when I picked up the car. It is only a 2005 Black Prius but G & D/Angela treated the car as if it was a brand new luxury car. She took care of everything we agreed and more, while going out of her way to make my first experience with G & D a wonderful one. I was quite impressed and really felt good about all aspects of their service. I would highly highly recommend G & D, and plan to take all of my autobody work to Angela and the G & D family going forward. Thank you Angela and G & D!

I simply cannot push this Auto Place enough...Honestly and unquestionably this is probably my favorite retail/service location anywhere. I will never forget Angela's warmth, charm, quality...AND Great Prices!
I found G & D by accident. After my vehicle was struck I was referred to her for the repairs...and it was almost as if Serindipity had brought me here because after the kind, expedient, and efficient repairs as well as seeing the bill breakdown and her very fair prices I ended up continuing to come here a couple more times for my vehicle's needs.
Before her I already had a regular mechanic in Lakewood for years and I would have no problem driving to him even once I had moved to Orange County, but alas he had purchased a new spot and raised his service prices so high that I was sort of forced to seek the competition. After countless attempts to find quality and value enter Angela and G & D Auto!
Angela's warmth, charm, prices, and attention to detail (she had my car washed every time mind you) is what keeps me coming back here. This family owned and run business is most definitely worth your time and duckets.
I had called her recently after not speaking to G & D for almost 2 years (long story that has absolutely nothing to do with them I assure you) and she totally remembered me and was looking forward to me coming in again. I also look forward to coming in and you will too!
If there is an issue of any sort, which more often than not there will not be then just inform her and she will have the concern fixed in an expedient fashion with kindness and professionalism.

I have brought my truck to G & D three times in the last couple of years. I was referred to them by my neighbor. Angela and Georgeta are so sweet and you can tell how much pride they have in taking care of their customers.

This place is FANTASTIC. My side mirror was pretty badly scuffed and the glass was broken. I went to 3 places. I got 3 estimates: $425, 280, and $100 lol. I told Angela and she took my car in the shop and did it for FREE (buffed out the mirror and it looked fantastic). Just had to pay for the mirror which was about $30 total. She was great. I have been a repeat customer of G&D over the years (2 BMWs). I think I initially came here through an insurance recommendation, but I don't recall exactly.
What I love most about G&D is that it is a family run small business that does excellent work. Angela, the mom, is cheerful and attentive and really has her customer's interest in mind. She makes you feel like one of her kids :) And the price is always more competitive than other body shops of the same calibers.
Although it is alway annoying to have body work done on cars, Angela and G&D make it a little less painful.

I don't t typically write reviews but last year when my brand new baby was hit at a valet location in LA I was devastated. The driver had hit my car on the passenger front bumper and pushed the rear driver side of my car into the back wall. How this happened I'm still uncertain. What appeared to be strictly cosmetic ended up being a $3k job later. LUCKILY enough, the honest person left his information with the valet attendant and I was able to contact his insurance company. I searched Yelp and found that G&D Auto had good reviews so I took my car to get an estimate. Angela was great to work with... She had my best interests in mind and was able to negotiate with the insurance company to have my front and rear bumpers completely replaced.
I noticed that after I had my car worked on, it sounded "louder" when I would accelerate on on-ramps, etc. I took my car both to G&D and my dealer and both expressed that it was the car and the engine that was loud. I knew my car sounded different but was convinced that after 2 weeks, I had forgotten what she sounded like.
Flash back to present day and I took my car in for a routine oil change. The dealer notified me that an air duct was missing from my car.. Which to me seems like a huge oversight from both G&D Auto and my dealer since no one picked up on this earlier. It is an inexpensive part, but it seems like it was removed and no one remembered to put it back in.
After speaking with the dealer, I contacted G&D and brought my car into Angela right away. She expressed that she knew it was not her wrongdoing but that she would order the part and have it installed at no cost to me. Obviously this was greatly appreciated and I was grateful that Angela expressed that my long-term business was more important to her than a $50 part.
After getting my car back, there is no longer any noise with acceleration and I am certain that the part was accidentally removed and not reinstalled by G&D last year. However, I appreciate Angela's integrity and willingness to work with me.. Whether or not she believed that the part was removed by her mechanics.
As a woman with my own car, I understand that it is often intimidating to take my car into a shop... However working with Angela was very easy and I never felt uncomfortable. Despite the "hiccup" with my car, I am happy to recommend G&D Auto.

I cannot get over how wonderful this shop is. at first, I was very hesitant to go to a new place, despite my boss' GLOWING recommendation because I am foolish and am afraid of change.
THIS IS MY GO-TO PLACE! Angela is a warm person! The moment you meet her, you will SEE it! Her whole family actually exudes this feeling of sunshine. They are all courteous, polite, and driven people! They always manage to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and well taken care of, despite doing the same for 3 - 5 other customers in the room.
The customer service is beyond phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough! You will not be disappointed as soon as you meet Angela and her family/crew. She is a woman who knows how to do things, and get it done perfectly. The first time.
I had an accident, and it was my fault. We decided to pay out of pocket. The person that I hit went to get an estimate done, and to replace his car's panel and it was a very high amount despite the "friends and family" discount..
Angela beat his pricing, and even actually had better suggestions as to how to fix it for an even better deal!
She set the guy up with a rental car at a great rate, and we went off on our way!
She did an amazing job on both of our cars! My car also needed more work than what she quoted me for, but she did it for free out of the kindness of her heart! I was just so touched because you could tell she really cared about me and all her customers.... My car looked like it was just driven off the lot too! How can you beat that?

Sadly, my family seems to need car service at least once or twice a year. Dings, fender benders, parking lot accidents, minor mechanical and electrical fixes....you know how it goes.
Happily G&D is always there for us, especially Georgette! We have been taking our vehicles to G&D for the past 12 years always with perfect service, stellar quality work and fair pricing.
There was one incident where the paint color didn't match just right and they repainted the whole bumper - no charge, and had it ready the next day. No one is perfect, but these guys do their best every single time.
We can not refer enough people to G&D! Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors...everybody!
Angela and Georgette will take good care of you and treat you like family. We have family that drive from San Diego just to bring their cars here - it's that good.

Hubby accidentally scratched his front bumper while turning into the garage one day, so we went on Yelp to find a trusty auto repair shop.
This came up on Yelp and had nothing but 5 star reviews. We took the car in later that week and handed it to the famous "Angela." We read so many glowing reviews about her that we thought we were in good hands, but boy, were we in for a surprise.
When we picked up the car, we noticed a lot of flaws (ie: running paint, missing paint, misaligned bumper, missed paint, and etc). Hubby pointed it out to Angela and she quickly dismissed our complaints and concerns.
G&D definitely did not live up to it's 5 star reviews on Yelp. How terribly disappointing that this had happened. Not only did we spend $xxxx for the repairs here, but we spent another $xxxx to have it repaired at another shop to fix the original scratch and all of Angela's mistakes at G&D.
How terribly disappointing and costly it was. Shame on you G&D!

Never had such a great experience with an auto body shop before as I did here. I went to the famous Angela and she did nothing but great things for my car!
I was in a hit and run accident, my front bumper was damaged, I was referred to this place from my boyfriend who had just also been there.
Not only did she fix my bumper but she did a few extra things that made me very happy! I could not be happier with the service, she really does treat her customer as if we were her family! I would recommend this place to any of my friends and family! I am never going anywhere else!

This review is just for the estimate visit I had. Let me just start with this...I have never had such great service at an auto place in my entire life. This was certainly a first. Angela, the owner made the entire estimate process a cake walk. She was so kind and wonderful it was hard not get sucked in. I can't believe I have lived so close to this place for years and never went before! This was my second time taking my car was hit by someone parked outside my house. Angela is the best! She will take care of you and your car! The first time I took my car to her it took forever and a day to get the parts. They were coming from Germany and explained she didn't control over shipping times. However, she put me in a rental for the extra days I had to wait on her dime! She explained she didn't want me leaving with a bad experience and wanted to gain a customer for life. She has and that is why I took my car in this second time. Angela is the nicest person ever. I took my car in for a hood repair and she was very honest and transparent about the work that needed to be done. The price was very fair and they did it in 2 days! The staff here did a wonderful car fixing my truck when I got rear ended by some jerk. They not only fixed the damage but went the extra mile and repaired some pre existing damage and redid the paint in some spots where I got keyed using the money they got from the insurance. My boyfriend referred me to G + D Auto Collision to get some repair work done on my car. I had been in an accident and needed a new front bumper and headlight. Not only did Angela and her super friendly and and accommodating staff fix my accident repairs to look like new again, they graciously offered to fix a large scratch from where my car had previously been keyed, and a puncture on my back bumper FREE OF CHARGE! When i arrived to pick up my car, the mechanic who fixed my car informed me the damage done to my front end had also damaged the AC, so they fixed that as well!!! All this extra work was NOT covered by AAA, the insurance of the guy who hit me. Angela and everyone else at G+D Auto Collision is professional, customer-service minded and 100% honest!!!!! This IS as good as it gets! My daughter backed up our Nissan Pathfinder into a fire hydrant...and badly dented the rear cargo door. The worst part was the door would not open. My auto mechanic suggested I go to G & D and ask for Angela. So I did.

I was referred to G & D by a friend. I was involved in a hit and run. The damage was to my headlight, headlight mounting frame and bumper. I went in for a estimate and and got the most reasonable amount. And trust me I shopped around. I took my car in on a Saturday and Angela helped me with a rental at a very affordable price. I had my car back Wednesday evening. They hold true to the family owned business. I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of or that they were trying to work me over. LOVE THIS PLACE! When I got my Mitsubishi Eclipse back I was shocked. I usually had friends of friends touch my car and the outcome was just a grade B- because It was great, just not perfect. I absolutely love G&D Auto Collision. I took my '91 Jeep Cherokee there after getting slammed in my driver's side. The work took longer than my insurance would pay for a rental car, so the owners lent me one of their own cars for 2 days while G&D finished the repairs. Sure, I was a customer, but they didn't know me at all and yet they trusted me with one of their own, private vehicles - so kind.
They are a family-owned business and they are the kindest, most honest people you could ask for. They do fantastic body work, too! My Jeep looked awesome when they were done. They also came across some mechanical issues while repairing my Jeep and referred me to Harbor Automotive Service to get it diagnosed. Though it would have cost ME $75 for the time spent to diagnose the issue, THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME A PENNY OF IT! Seriously, that just doesn't happen now days! (Harbor Automotive is awesome, too, and is now the only mechanic I go to.)
And to top it all off, I had to take another vehicle in for some minor body repair and G&D gave me a 10% discount (off of their already reasonable prices) because I was a returning customer. Great people, great service - awesome!

Fortunately I had little need for auto repairs. Also fortunately, the few times I had the need I went to G&D Auto Collision due to friends' recommendations. I must say that I was more than satisfied with the quality of the repairs and the openes of the communication. They carefully inspected the cars, handled the insurance claims start to finish, even negotiated on my behalf with the Shipping company which damaged one of my vechicle during transport to assure that they pay fully for all damages.
The repairs were done really well, very quickly and Angela personally assisted me for the pick-up inspection, explaining everything that was done and making sure I was totally satisfied.
One more thing which speaks volumes about this shop is that I once forgot a laptop computer in the car when it was left for service. During the regular inspection that Angela performs personally when a car is left for repairs, they found the laptop, placed it in the front office and Angela called me to let me know that it was there and ready for pick-up wheneven I needed.
Note. I saw a commend posted on Yelp from a lady and I must ay that she must either be mentally disturbed or after some hidden motives. Just from cusiosity I checked that lady's history and by far most of her posts were negative scants. That settled it for me, but I don't understand why Yelp allows such people to continue posting.

I had just moved to the O.C. when a kid with a shiny new license tried to beat the light. WHAM! And suddenly, I needed a body shop. Of course, I headed immediately to Yelp. Made a few calls. And another body shop who was too booked pointed me to G&D. "Call Angela. She'll take good care of you."
Best advice I've ever received! So, I pass it on to you. "Call Angela." How many auto collision shops do you know with a giant wall full of thank-you cards and notes? Angela has owned and run G&D for 25 years. She treats you like family from the moment you walk in the door. And I just got my car back - in way better shape than it was in BEFORE the accident!
Angela also has some sort of magic touch with insurance adjusters... she gets what you need from them. And centrally located in Costa Mesa off the 55. Have your car towed to G&D and your life (and car) is about to get a whole lot better.
So, 5 stars is nowhere near enough for G&D Auto Collision. This is one of those rare businesses that combines excellence in its work and excellence in its customer service. And you really haven't lived until you've been given a ride on Angela's red golf cart!

If it were possible to rate a business with 10 stars, I wouldn't hesitate to give G & D that rating.
A short time after purchasing what I thought was a certified previously-owned car from a dealership, the gasket around the front windshield came loose and deteriorated quickly. Harbor Automotive showed me that not only was the windshield not the original, but the installation of the replacement was so poor that careless scratches behind the gasket had already rusted. He recommended G & D for the repair, and after receiving a quote from Carsmetics (who had done work for my family 3 times in the past), I decided to give Angela at G & D a try. After all, her estimate was HALF of the others I received.
With cards and letters of thanks lining her waiting room, her family business reminded me of the business my mom and dad used to run -- the kind of business that is hard to find anymore with all of the "chain" stores pushing out the independants. They are not only reasonable, but they are careful (managed to get my windshield out and back in without my having the additional cost of a replacement), helpful, polite, and go the extra mile beyond what they contracted to do. The entire family seems to value integrity above all else, and that is not only rare but refreshing these days.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. Give them your business, and you will not only have the best service around, but you will also be contributing to the importance of keeping small businesses alive and thriving. Great job, Angela!

This is my 4th auto body work done by G&D. And again, great job by Angela and her crew. For this latest job, I was sent by the other guy's insurance company to another auto body place for an estimate. I went but I did not feel right about having them fix my van (I took my van in on a Saturday at 8 am and they tell me it will be fixed by Monday. Odd, since the shop closes at noon and they're closed on Sundays. What kind of repair would that be?). Angela knows how to deal with insurance companies. Don't let them talk you into using their "preferred" shop. You have the right to choose your own shop and the insurance company should pay for the car rental required. I know that Angela will fix my car correctly. Her rates are lower than the rest and they are a trustworthy operation (small family-owned).

Huge disappointment. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I felt taken advantage of because i was a girl and don't know much about cars. First off it took longer than they told me it would. Then after getting it back I could tell it looked a little sloppy. The paint was chipped and peeling as if they put the parts on when it was still to fresh. THen my boyfriend ended up pointing out a few things that didnt look right and a missing cap under the windshield. I took it back, Angela apologized and agreed with me. She said she would take care of it, but when i picked it back up it was as if they didnt do anything at all. Ended up taking it back a total of 4 times because the job was done so terribly and other things kept coming up. I am definitely not satisfied with their service and thanks to them parts of my radio is not fixed and my transmission does not sound right. they try to justify themselves by telling me one thing and then another. Employees have a lack of communication, and im sorry if a customer is not satisfied and gets upset, that does not mean they should start yelling and arguing back ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS THEIR FAULT! wish i never took my car here and everyone else should consider a different auto shop. When you walk in the office there is a wall dedicated by customers full of letters and cards of Thank Yous for the work and service G&D did. Angela makes sure all the arrangements for u r taken care of including super fast rental service who pick u up on the spot literally in 10 mins. They also do an excellent job of handling paperwork. I would definitely comeback to this place just hoping i don't need to. Angela also fixed something extra for free, sort of an Xmas gift!

Twice I have needed an auto body shop that would be trustworthy and honest. Both times I used G & D twice and each time they beat the previous estimates. On my first need for service I was skeptical because I didn't understand how they could beat the original estimate by more than half and not compromise quality. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The second time I needed to use them I took it to another shop closer to home in Tustin (just for giggles) to see what the difference would be. Again, I was pleasantly surprised.
It is always smart to get more than one estimate, but I would never hesitate to come back to Angela and her family for help. They honestly want our business and will do what it takes to get the job done to the customers satisfaction. This is why it is important to support locally run small businesses.

I found G & D through Yelp and boy am I glad I did. As all the reviewers before me have stated, there's something special about this place and her name is Angela. I called to ask what hours they were open and told them I was going straight over there for a quote. Angela saw me pull up and immediately came out to show me where to park and shook my hand like an old friend. I'm in the customer service business myself so I know what it looks like. Awesome service! Angela was soooo sweet. Fixed my car for a couple hundos cheaper then I got quoted any where else.
Also, while my car was in the shop someone hit my GF's car at a gas station. Because of the great service I was getting I had them fix her car too. They helped her deal with the other guys insurance(AAA were being D*cks about paying for the repairs). Angela even fixed a spot where her car had been keyed and a small hole in her bumper for free!

I just picked up my car from having some more cosmetic work done and it looks AWESOME! Not only do the body and paint look great up close and in direct sunlight, but they got my car SO CLEAN before I picked it up. Seriously, I had grime on my steering wheel that hadn't been completely removed during several hand washes, and they did it. Car looks great, inside and out. Their customer service is par none. I did end up going three times expecting the car to be ready and twice it wasn't, but Angela is such a problem solver and values each customer so much, that she just problem solved and got it done. She hooked me up with a rental car so that I wasn't inconvenienced. Per usual, I got into my car and wasn't able to reach the pedals (I'm short and this was fixed with the push of a button), but that and the length of time it took are my only complaints. Well worth it for the outstanding customer care and quality work that they do. G and D remains my go-to body shop.

I had received a recommendation for G&D from my roommate. She had been here before and talked about how great their body work skills were. I've just moved here and wasn't sure where to go after I had gotten into a fight with a post in a parking garage at work. I was so bummed and just wanted this taken care of. First, I went to a well known auto body shop and they quoted me a price of $875. Now I know paint is expensive but the dent was such a small area I wasn't ready to cough up $900 to fix this. When I went to Angela, she gave me a fair price, offered a rent a car service, & had my car finished just the way it was before my accident. I was worried about not blending the paint, but it would've been an extra $150-$200 to blend. Angela assured me that it would be fine without and I am so glad I listened to her advice. I will go ahead and always support small businesses as much as I can. G&D definitely proved themselves to a newbie like me.

Just had some minor work done on the tailgate of my truck at G&D and the experience was outstanding! I was really only asked paid to get the handle replaced but Angela helped correct the alignment of the rails on the bed for free. Bottom line... she didn't just do the work I paid for. She was committed to solving the problem so the handle wouldn't break again and she didn't charge a dime extra. To top is all off, service from both Angela and her daughter Georgeta (note a family company) was warm and top of the line.

I'm definitely like this family-owned auto shop. I've been there twice for minor repairs, and both times I got excellent service and quality workmanship. I honestly believe that they put their customers' concerns as their number one priority. You never get the feeling that they are upselling you or telling you to get repairs that you don't need. Great experience! This is an auto body shop that is honest, kind, friendly and knowledgeable. My husband's van was vandalized during a recent visit to LA--they broke the window, but not before trying to pry open the door with a crowbar. :( Needless to say, between that and another vandalism attempt a few years prior, the passenger side door was pretty gross looking. We searched Yelp and after reading the great reviews about G&D, we gave them a call. They completely took care of us (replaced the door with a "new" used door) and gave us a great deal on the work, even fixing a dent on the side of the van from an old accident for no extra charge. They even knocked $50 off the price of the door because it was $50 cheaper than they anticipated (she could have easily pocketed the $50 and we wouldn't have ever known or cared, but I thought it spoke a lot to their integrity.) Great experience and highly recommend!

Got into a small accident with my brand new Kia. I looked on yelp, found a few places and drove around to get a few estimates. I chose to pay out of pocket. I went to a few places that were quoting me up to $3500 for damages (trying to charge me for parts and body work that was not needed). By the time I took it to G & D auto collision I was stressed out. I met Angela and she greeted me with a big smile and reassured me that she could have my car fixed like "it never happened". She gave me a well priced estimate and honored it two weeks later when I decided to bring my car in. Angela and the other employees take their work and commitment to customer satisfaction very seriously and it shows. I had a small fender bender and took my car in for an estimate. Prices were reasonable so I chose G & D after researching other local shops. They also gave me a good deal with their rental car company and arranged a pick-up and drop-off that accommodated my work schedule. My Infiniti G37 had damage to the bumper and quarter panel and tail light. I received a number of estimates from body shops in Costa Mesa ranging from $830 at G&D to $1,250 at others. Then, when I took it in Angela of G&D said she could fix the bumper and attempt to "buff" things out in the other areas and the total cost would be $421. Plus, I was able to rent a car through G&D for $20/day via car rental servies they have partnered with which was great since I only have one car and the car rental service picks you up and drops you off at G&D. In just 3 days, Angela completed the repairs and I showed up to see that the entire damage was absolutely no longer there. It looked like nothing ever happened. She repaired the car for just $421. Besides this, she was very professional which I appreciate as an insurance business professional.

The screen on my navigation system cracked and I was not about to take it to the Lexus dealership and pay an arm and a leg. My boyfriend encouraged me to stop in at G&D and see if they would be able to fix it. To my surprise, they sure did! Angela mentioned that they had never done this before, but was confident she would take care of me and that is exactly what she did! Angela was so incredibly helpful and extremely polite! Not only that, there was some issues with my insurance company and she told me she would talk directly with them and take me out of the middle! I picked my car up a week later and the navigation system work perfectly! I could not be more satisfied. i have not one, but two estimates for $2,000 and $3,000 to fix this mess it took angela nearly 4 months to create! plus, pics and verification from my own insurance company! she merely paid me for the stolen cd's and the detail to remove the grease they got all over the interior. the cd player is still broken, as i don't have the funds to replace it. i am trying to save up to redo the repairs! i suppose they are all liars, too, plus, there are other complaints against this biz on yelp. offense is the best defense, huh? own up angela! you don't know what the f@#$ you're doing and should shut your doors! can't even read a gas guage or buy wholesale the correct parts. that evidence is irrefutable. additionally, she admits she did not remanufacture the bumper she was paid $600 to do. hence, the gaps and irregularities in the spacing across the entire front end. call a&j in costa mesa and gamboas in roseville, ca. they have the bids for the 06 gold xlr. ask them what's wrong with it and how long it will take to fix -2 weeks, not 4 months! they have no reason to lie.

I am a really big fan of this garage. I have taken my Toyota Tacoma here twice now and have really been delighted at the level of service. They are very understanding and flexible about time lines and price concerns. They have it in good with all the rental car places around and got me a $20/ day deal on my rentals. To illustrate how much they care about their customers and having a good reputation Georgette even picked me up at the airport and took me to Hertz on a Sat morn, while my car was in the shop. They just have a great family business and I do not remember the last time I really felt that type of customer service in any industry. They even gave me a part list of the parts put on my car that illustrated all that they discounted me on and all that they were able to find good used deals on. I highly recommend to all my friends. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ENJOY A CAR ACCIDENT?? YES!!!! Angela and her team assisted this female first timer from start to finish!! I was treated like family and I felt like I had a support team the whole way through. Run for your life !!!!! Horrible customer service and the worst body collision repair I have ever seen! This was the worst experience I have ever had in business in 35 years. I picked up my car ..... it was completely filthy dirty, the body repair work was much to be desired the paint has "runs" in it. I noticed that the owner Angela was very nervous and it took over an hour to just pull my car up and when she drove it up she opened the drivers door and hit the mailbox and chipped the paint and dinged the door, then rushed me into the office and I said I wanted the check out my car she replied "the money the money" . I realized the car was running and after I reluctantly paid the balance I drove away and felt unsafe driving the car. I showed the work to 3 other body shops and they verified that it was not quality work, it seemed to be in worst condition then when I brought it in for repair. The car was not " in alignment", I paid for an alignment - I paid for suspension work that was not repaired accurately, I got a second opinion from Fletcher Jones Mercedes - and they did verify that what I paid for was not done right and I paid for work that was never performed. When I confronted the owner Angela she immediately said don't take it to Fletcher Jones Mercedes " they will find things" and then I realized that I needed to pay for my wheel alignment again "that I paid for" "that was not done".... I paid Fletcher Jones an additional $800 + I paid a third party auto repair an additional $ 700+ for repairs -- after I paid GND approximately $5000. all I got was a run around.... then she offered to write a check and was concerned that I wouldn report her business to the Bureau of Automotive Repair bar.ca.gov. She stated that she has "receipts" for my parts.... but I never saw that.... she first offered $1000 because she admitted that all the repairs I paid for were not done, then she said that she didn't want to refund me $1000 she offered me $700 refund and forced me to sign "a release authored by her attorney to not sue", under duress I signed it because I needed desperately my car back.... she also stated that if I try and sue or report her and GND that she has "lots of attorneys and they will help her " and she also stated that "I better not try" Lesson learned --- never again will I ever bring a customer or family member or refer anyone again I am still paying for additional repairs....... my car is still missing parts..... but I will have it completed by a more qualified auto body and repair ! This was the most horrible business transaction I ever experienced ---- I am the customer and I felt like this was a bad movie..... buyer beware....
