Kevin and the H-Tech crew helped me get my car fixed and saved me over $1000. I can't say enough good things about them. I thought I was going to need an expensive part replaced and rather than seize the opportunity they showed me I didn't need it. They have worked on all our family vehicles and they are always fast and professional.

Just returned home from this business. Waited 21 minutes to talk to someone (there were 2 employees behind the counter) and finally left. They have a large shop (5 or 6 bays) but only 1 automobile in the shop and NO mechanics working. If their technical expertise matches their customer service, this is place to avoid.....as indicated by their total lack of CUSTOMERS in their shop.....

Edit: Brought to an official dealer after, initial diagnostic was COMPLETELY wrong.
They're all just money hogs.
We were on a vacation from San Francisco when our engine broke down. As our car is a hybrid, which requires special certification to work on, many other companies we called directed us to Hy tech. I guess there's a reason competition is good for the economy. As they were the only viable option nearby, we were forced to get towed there.
In the end, they charged us over 100 bucks for a "diagnostic", which they said they would get the next morning. As we were on a timed vacation, we told them we needed it to be as fast as possible, which they complied to. However, by 12pm the next day, there was still no phone call. We called in THREE times, which all we recieved was a hostile "not yet," with the excuse being the mechanic was out on an appointment.
It finally got completed right before they closed, around 4pm. When we took an uber there, the mechanic gave us a shitty diagnostic that sounded like it was made up on the spot. I doubt they even looked at it, but perhaps it was cause we rushed them by calling for an update. They said they couldn't fix it there, and we had to go somewhere else. All that for 150 bucks.
We had to call another tow truck. Go straight to Reno instead.

Professional, Clean, Helpful - This is the best shop we have ever gone to for an emission test. We have an older Denali and called first to see if I needed an appointment. They said no and told me about a discount coupon they were offering on their web site.
We went the next day and they were able to get us right in, we waited in a spacious and clean waiting room and were finished in less than 30 minutes. They sent in our test results electronically immediately and told us we could get our stickers right away at the DMV or AAA if a member. This saved so much time being able to drive over and pick them up.

I had my brakes and rotors replaced here, after less than a year I experienced violent shaking in my steering column. When I brought it back in they said it was normal and I "needed to deal with it" or pay them to replace. No warranty in their work. I have since brought my vehicle to a mechanic in Reno who noted the previous repair was shotty and it could have caused an accident. Never going here again. Truckee, you keep pushing us locals away. Thanks for endangering my safety.

Hy-Tech Auto is a great place to get the smog check. I called Kevin and he gave the price for the check over the phone. He has a coupon for $10.00 when you visit his on line business. My son was impressed with the clean working area. No old parts or tires cluttering up the place. The test and paperwork for DMV was completed in less than 30 minutes. I will be a return customer even though we live in Incline Village. Integrity in business means a lot to me and earns my business every time.

Kevin and the staff at Hy Tech automotive were outstanding!! We were on our way to Reno and our car broke down outside of Truckee. We arrived at the shop only an hour or so before they closed. Their team was able to get the car diagnosed that day and said they would try to get the work done that evening. Unfortunately it required a part that needed to be ordered but Kevin got online quick so it would arrive the next morning. At that point we were kind of stranded in Truckee with our hotel reservation in Reno. We were preparing to take a taxi ($100) to get to Reno. The owner went out of his way and gave us a ride there - free of charge!! We couldn't have been more grateful! The team at Hy Tech are knowledgable and courteous. The owner is a genuinely kind person. We recommend this business to everyone!!

I made an appointment with hy-tech because another auto repair place told me my brake pads were near the end. After looking at them, Kevin and his team agreed I had 70% left. I also complained about a persistent metallic rattle. The mechanic fixed the rattle and re-assembled the brakes. No charge. When I got home there was a message from Kevin checking to make sure that they fixed the rattle and it hadn't re-appeared. Old fashioned customer-centered service!

After a bad experience with "Tahoe city garage" I was scared to drop off my car at any other shop but went to Advanced body & frame since the car was still needed repairs. Damian was very professional and upfront from the very beginning and their work is perfect. I would highly recommend this shop. Their busy for a reason but worth the wait.. I did take it to the other shop 1st but had to come here to have it done right..

My Jeep was just repaired by advanced body and frame. It took them well over a week just to get a quote together. They finally repaired it after haveing it for 2 weeks. Any other shop could have done this in a day. If you dont use your car take it here, if you need your car like me find anyone else to do the job. Worst customer service of my life!!!!!!!!!!
