BEWARE.. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. I had major work done and spent thousands of dollars. Had to bring it back immediately after. Still having problems. Brought it to another shop and found out they didn't tighten down numerous things which created more work and caused me more money. They are not honest.

I've been going to Rhodes for several years, Great owner operated business. I use him for pretty much everything auto related when I'm in Wisconsin. He's worked on all my cars, SUVs' and Classic's. A couple of times over the years I've had issues that I needed bailing out of fast. He was right on it! Same as the rare couple times I've had to call and say I don't think something's right AGAIN RIGHT ON IT! Professional set up that you get what you pay for.

Repairs

I brought my older gem to Rhodes after my race car mechanic neighor noticed there was a problem with the Serpentine belt tensioner in my car while he was replacing a leaking hose for me. Got right in at Rhodes. First had an oil change, engine tuneup, ect. at my request and then brought my car back in a few days later for cracked tensioner and shot belt repair, according to Jay. Car runs just great...good as new. (I did not ask to see the old parts as suggested by my neighor, tho) Was very happy with the service. Jay and staff pleasant and informative. I hear from others that Jay is a little pricey but would go back in a second and will be, for regular maintenance from now on.

Please Pick Another Place.

During the 3rd week of April 2009, I brought my car to Rhodes Auto & Truck Repair for a front-end clunking noise which turned out to be 2 lower ball joints. One day after leaving it there, Jay called me and said that the car may need a some type of valve in the transmission, I said OK. The very next day, Jay called me and said the transmission was trashed and that it wouldn't go anywhere. I personally drove the car for approximately 6 months before this with absolutely no problems with the transmission. Also, on April 3rd, 2009 the car in question was brought to Cottman Transmission for a complete transmission fluid flush since I had bought the car used and I wanted to make sure the fluid was good. Cottman Transmission is located at 8232 Sheridan Road, Kenosha, WI 53143. Their phone # is: 262-605-6866. They told me there was nothing wrong with the transmission and changed the fluid & filter. Between the 3rd and when I brought the car to Rhodes, I had no problems with the transmission. The car had to be towed from Rhodes to Cottman Transmissions. I went in the next day and the first thing asked of me was "how fast were you going when this happened?". Scott, the mgr at Cottman's said the entire front of the transmission case was cracked which I had confirmed by looking at it in their shop. There were also several pieces of metal laying to the side which belonged to the trans case. I immediately went to Rhodes and asked Jay what happened and he told me it came in that way. He said he would not reimburse me for my costs because he did not do it. Once again, the car was driven in and the mechanics at Cottman's say this had to be caused by either high speed shifting or neutral drops with a high revving engine. I feel that I am owed the $2,600+ it cost to fix my transmission due to the fault of someone at Rhodes. This is my 2nd input of my complaint because after all this time - Rhodes has not written myself or the BBB back and there is no record of a complaint in their file. I will continue to file this complaint until there is a derogatory record placed in Rhodes BBB file.

I've been taking my cars to Rhodes for 15 years, Jay and the crew at roads are excellent mechanics, and their prices are very reasonable. Thank You Jay and crew for fixing my little Cavalier once again.

These people suck. took my truck there,and they had it for a week.never once called me to inform me of what was going on. I called them every day and was told tomorrow every day.finally had enough and went to check in person. truck was parked on the lot,while they worked on other vehicles. when I asked what they had done. THE ANSWER WAS WE DON'T KNOW. did I mention they had my truck for a week. never ever again will these people get as much as a tire rotation from me.

Excellent customer service. I had an issue with my car battery plugs & the guys were so nice. They came out on Christmas Eve and fixed it even though it was close to them closing for the holiday. I had called so many shops in town and they were the ONLY ones willing to come out!! And they fixed it quick!!Super nice guys and the women who answers the phone was also really nice. I will definitely be going to them from now on for all my car needs!
