Super nice guy, but doesn't seem to have much experience with insurance companies. I got into an accident and had my car towed here because it was close to home. Estimates and payment were coordinated between my insurance agent and the shop, the shop was supposed to check for any underlying problems from the accident and do the repairs.
When I eventually get my car back the alignment is off (or rather, the car was pulling to one side). I take the car back to the shop and he's super nice about doing a re-alignment for free. I get the car back again and he says that the car is aligned, but something with my steering is off. He explained that somewhere in my car steering there is a component similar to a rubber band and one side is stretched causing one side to pull more when driving. I explained the car didn't do that before the accident. He said it was normal and that it wasn't an issue to worry about.
Well, here I am several months down the line with a car that significantly pulls to one side (although he is right, the tires are aligned). leaving me concerned and annoyed with the pulling. I tried replacing all 4 tires to see if that would help. It didn't. I ended up taking it in for a second opinion to a different shop... and now I have to try to see if I can re-submit a claim months later for a possible strut issue that should have been figured out and added to the original insurance quote from the beginning.

Rafael and his team did a great job with front brakes service on my 2004 Camry. The place is a family owned complete auto service center and Rafael is an absolute gentleman and down to earth person to work with. While waiting for my car, I was impressed with his honest and straightforward dealing with other customers as well as parts vendors. He even offered me a ride to get an errand completed while my car was at the shop. I am glad I found Cartech and Absolutely recommend the shop to anyone looking for an honest quote and thorough auto service done in the Livermore and Dublin/ Pleasanton area

Rafael is as good as they come - completely honest and reliable. Did a great job on the repair/service for my Toyota. Did a great diagnosis of the problem and fixed it quickly at a great price. My Toyota dealer was planning to rip me off by charging a much higher price. I am glad I came to Rafael. I plan to stick with him. I recommend him highly.

A car guy with honesty, integrity, excellent customer service. Rafael is a family man. He has been in the car repair industry for over 30 years- 22 years at a dealer in san ramon- 12 years owning this place.
When we first walked in- he was very professional. He heard us tell him about our car issues--- brakes making a grinding noise and the oil light remaining on even tho the oil tank is full.
He immediately asked follow up questions thhat showed he knew what he was talking about. We filled out the paperwork and handed over the car keys so i could get my husband to work. I aplreciate that his shop opens at 8am so we can take care of this and still get to work on time. We were in and out in 5 mins.
After we left, we just felt a sense of- "yup, we can trust is guy.He knows what he is doing and we can trust him"
In an hour he called to tell us exactly what was wrong with the car and gave us his price quote and asked for permission to go ahead with the repairs- replaced all brake pads, resurfaced roters, oil change, new oil filter, checked fluids and tire pressure all for a very reasonale and affordable price.
He didnt try to upsell or fix something that wasnt broken
He had the car done before my husband got off work and we were able to pick it up same day before he closed at 6pm.
When we picked up the car, it was as if we were old friends- his engagement with us was friendly, still professional, and just lovely.
Now our car purrs and runs so smoothly- it is delightful to know our car is safe- especially if there is going to be bad weather in the season to come.

These guys are the best. Rafael is the only honest mechanic I have ever met. How can it be that this wonderful mechanic has only one review?!?
Rafael, the owner-manager of Cartech, is absolutely top notch--knowledgeable, dependable, and, most of all, HONEST. I've been taking my truck and other family cars to this shop for several years and have nothing but pleasant, satisfying experiences.
Friends and coworkers are always surprised when I tell them how much Cartech charged me for a given job--"That's all?" they invariably say. Rafael doesn't try to upsell, doesn't pressure at all, and won't try to replace a part unless it really needs it. The majority of times I asked him to check a car's brakes, he ends up saying nothing needs replacement yet.
Rafael, bless his heart, also doesn't resist doing the small jobs--once he tracked down a replacement window latch for my wife's '99 Nissan Quest and installed it for a nominal fee. Suffice to say that I never hesitate to ask Rafael about any car-related issues because I know my car--and me--will be treated well.

Rafael is sincere honest and passionate about his (and his shop's) work. He will explain AND show what the problem is, and what is necessary to correct it. Rafael will also work out the repair cost with you. The job will be done as promised! If you need a ride,home or work, he will take you. If you need to be picked up at home or work, he will pick you up. Honest, polite, friendly, sincere. A good mechanic!

I love this place, I wish I found them earlier. Last week Rafael and his team replaced my radiator at a very reasonable rate. Today I came because the term connector to my new battery was loose and needed to be replaced. He did it at no charge. They are friendly an helpful, and I will not use any other repair shop! Plus they're open Saturdays, hard to find in Livermore!$

This place was great.. after shopping around they are by far the most reasonable and helped us fix my 97 toyota celica - needed timing belt, 2 seals were leaking oil and also needed spark plugs.. their pricing overall was what i would have paid elsewhere just for the timing belt repair - the staff was very helpful and friendly - felt like I wasnt taken advantage of at all - they called my husband right away with all estimates and had car ready the same day - Would recommend highly
