Top notch service! We were towed here from breaking down right off the 101 and ended up needing a new fuel pump. The guy behind the counter had the part hand delivered here from down the street so the mechanic could start on our car right away. That saved a few hours of waiting and we can still get back on the road today without having to rent a car.

My family could not be happier that we discovered this auto repair shop. Their staff are very professional, excellent communicators, and go the extra mile to do a stellar job. We have Volvos, they were very comfortable and knowledgeable with them.
Alliance offered to set up a car rental for us in the interim while we waited for our car to be available. While we did not need it, it was great to have that as an option. And, my favorite part, my car was washed and extra clean upon pick up! I am very happy to have my car in their hands, they are awesome.

I didn't receive service from this shop, nor did I deal in any money matters.
These five stars are just for letting me bring my car over, put it on the lift, and assess some Julia-caused undercarriage damage.
The guys inspected the damage and gave me their advice. All of them were cool and honest and nice. Steve made it happen. Thank you to all of them; you guys made my weekend better.

My boyfriend has a 2001 BMW, we have spent thousands of dollars on his car here and we are very disappointed. 5,000 dollars later on little things the car needed His transmission failed. The screen on his bmw was telling us this but they insisted it was the other things we had payed for. We took the car with out without a new transmission and it was $250. They broke the thing to pop the hood didn't fix it and the speakers are some how ruined don't waste your time if you have a luxury car here.

These folks are amazing! Was driving over hwy 20 on a Friday afternoon when one of my rear wheels locked up. Got a tow to these guys and even though it was 4:00pm on a Friday they started tearing it apart to see what was wrong. Since they are the only shop in town that is open on Saturday my car was ready to go before the weekend was over and their rates are the best in the area.

I'm new in town and my wife's '09 BMW started running as if down a cylinder while on 101. Check engine light came on. She nursed it home. Alliance scheduled it in next day and diagnosed the problem. They ordered parts and made repairs the following day and also caught up with overdue service items. I was very happy not only with their work but also that they could diagnose and repair locally and I didn't need to go to the nearest dealership, in Santa Rosa.

This place is terrible, look up this shop on the bbb. Website he had a grade of F - before they kicked him out of the program. He charged more then the dealerships for parts. I sued the owner in small claims court after charging me $2,000 to fix my truck and never fixed the problem, he replaced parts that didn't need to be. Numerous complaints with the State of California regulatory agency. This shop gives the industry the poor reputation it's trying to overcome. Better off going to the local dealerships.

The day that my car was supposed to be ready, I called & they said it would be $1000 more because they needed more parts for the engine replacement. I asked for a specific list and they never gave it to me. I feel that they really took advantage of the situation because my car broke down out of town and I didn't have a lot of choices. Steve was nice, but the others were totally unprofessional.

WORST MECHANIC EXPERIENCE.
My friend and I were driving through Ukiah and experienced some smokey brakes. Naturally we became worried and yelped for a good mechanic in Ukiah. Given the great reviews for Alliance, we chose them.
We met Steve at 5:30pm, told him about the smokey brakes, and he recommended we replace the pads, the rotors, the calipers, the caliper brackets, and hoses. I asked if all of that needed replacement and he assured me they did. When I asked him how long it'd take, he said it would be done by noon at the latest.
Over the course of the next day, we'd stop in the shop and ask about the progress. Parts he thought he had needed to be delivered still, or the part he ordered didn't fit, or there was some other unexpected snag. Every time, he'd say "it'll be done in a couple hours."
We spent the entire day in this fashion, when finally the brakes were done by 6:30pm. He assured us that the wait (and price) were worth it. We asked him if $65 per rotor was too expensive, and he said they were the better quality rotors that would last longer (note that he never asked us whether we wanted better quality rotors or not... later research suggested that $65 is way too much for a rotor).
We left, a little frustrated over the price and the entire day lost in "waiting purgatory" (I'd rather he tell us straight away that it'd take a full day, we would've taken a day trip instead of visiting the mechanic every other hour). Not even a week later, my friend is experiencing brake issues with the car again! The brake lights are lighting, and the brakes feel like they're dragging. We have a 12K mile warranty, but the time and aggravation wasted on Alliance is even worse in this light. Now, we have to take the car back into a shop, and when we asked Alliance which shop would take the warranty, they said "any." It turns out they're wrong here, too. The shop has to be affiliated with the warranty's network.
All in all, I would not recommend this shop to even my least favorite person. They don't deserve a high yelp rating at all. Their customer service is awful. Their work didn't hold up. Their prices are too high.

I recently broke down an hour-and-a-half away from home, near Ukiah, and was very fortunate to find Salvador's shop nearby on Google. He found a lot wrong with my car and patiently explained everything he'd done to diagnose and repair it. To top it all off, after offering us a rental car, he had an associate drive us all the way back home, so my friend and I could use another car to restart our roadtrip to OR. On a subsequent incident, he personally drove a half-hour on a Sunday night to provide roadside assistance, diagnosing yet another problem and escorting me to a nearby car wash to hose off my grill. He took responsibility for something he felt he'd missed on his first set of repairs and reimbursed me for the labor and parts done by my usual shop. Salvador is obviously a very competent mechanic and personally invested in his work. He got my car back on track and was incredibly thorough, generous, competent, forthright, and professional throughout. On top of that, he's a cool person and set me at ease about my situation, and the time and expense of these major repairs. I highly recommend Sal and Alliance for any repairs you might have and am very grateful for his knowledge and above-and-beyond service and attitude. Thanks, guys!

I can check that job off my to-do list.... take car in for Oil change & servicing. Why this duty becomes such a chore I don't know... it's relatively easy.. take car, leave car, pickup car. But I am always really relieved when it's done. Same feeling I get after a necessary visit to the Vet when Violet is ill.... duty done!
Same ' new in town' ordeal of finding the right DDS, dry cleaner, etc... There are no Grease Monkey's or Fast Lubes here. Then John remembered that he knew through Rotary [ yes, he's a Rotarian !] this Automotive place that seems to do everything, so he scheduled an 8am dropoff today.
And I was happily off the hook... John could do it and walk the 2-3 blocks to work. And this is just as well... I think men get a more honest deal & better work done typically in these places than a woman [ i don't think that is a old fashioned assessment-- I truly think so in many instances and in my experiences, that a woman gets taken advantage of. ]
I thought I'd be without a car a couple hours... no problem, I have plenty to do at home. At one o'clock, John calls saying it will be another hour or so, and he'll bring the car back... no problem, time to do a few errands after. At 230pm... well, you get the idea. Car was there all day.
The scoop is-- they did a great job. Oil, fluids, filters changed. Tires, tubes & plugs checked. A couple small parts on order & to be replaced. Car left neat & clean. Cost is acceptable.
We've found ourselves a car service place-- what a relief.
And I really didn't want to go anywhere today anyway.

COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE. I brought my car in after my former mechanic retired. I needed the fluids checked before a 9 hour trip to Los Angeles. I also explained that a diagnostic had been done and I needed a part replaced. They performed another diagnostic, charged me again for that and for checking the fluids, and gave me a list of parts I should replace first -- starting with the temperature sensor switch. They replaced it, and my "check engine" light was on within two days again. My oil warning lamp lit up on the dash and then shorted out, so I stopped to check the oil. They had never checked any of the fluids at all and I ran out of oil completely -- twenty miles from any services!!! It was the main reason I brought my car there! Fortunately, I had a quart oil with me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.

I've had good luck with mechanics in Ukiah so far, but unfortunately Alliance seemed determined to buck the trend.
Pros:
- Salvador is a nice guy
- Salvador himself gives great service
- Convenient location
Cons:
- A good public-facing Rotarian/Baseball Coach/etc. image can't compensate for poor service (by employees for the most part)
- Customers at a mechanic shop are a guaranteed fact, a dime a dozen, etc. ...prepare to be treated as such. Wait times are crazy.
- Some fundamental problems with my car were not discovered during a thorough check
- After the fixes took place and the rubber hit the road, my car was not road worthy and I ended up returning to the mechanic.
In summary, I think the place needs better employees or more employees. Poor Salvador has to be the public face of the place, but he's got a million jobs.

While on a drive in the mountains in our 19 year old Explorer we broke down. The car quit moving forward and we discovered a long trail of transmission oil on the road. We were 20 miles east of Covelo on dirt roads. We called AAA for a tow and were told they would take us to the nearest AAA approved garage. We were stuck and figured we would give it a try. After a 90+ minute ride in our car on the flatbed tow truck we arrived at Alliance Auto Repair. It was 5:30 but we were greeted by a smiling Alajandro. He listened to our problem and wrote a service order. He assured us they would check out our car first thing in the morning and get back to us by noon. He then drove us around town showing us motels and restaurants. We chose a motel and settled in for the night. By noon the next day it was decided the transmission needed new seals. I was pleased to learn the estimate was well below what I had expected. They also checked out the whole car and suggested, without any pressure, some other work that should be done in the future. They said the work might be done by Friday, Saturday latest. They arranged for a rental car for us. I had made some calls earlier and found the car they arranged through Hertz to be cheaper than any I had found. Friday afternoon the work was completed. I wish Alliance was closer to where we live. I would have them do all our auto repairs. Breaking down away from home is never a pleasant experience. Salvadore and Alajandro made it more pleasant than it might have been.

Alliance is my #1 choice

I highly recommend Alliance!!!! I took my car to another auto shop, but their quote for a diagnosis was outrageous plus they said it would take about 2 days just to diagnose. I decided to go to Alliance. I had a great first impression. I couldnt believe how clean it was. It didn't feel like a greasy auto body shop. I was immediately greeted by Salvador who was really friendly and helpful. He said they could start working on my car at 2:30 that same day and would know what was wrong by the end of the day. Sure enough, he called a little before 5. I was shocked!!! What the competition told me was gonna take 2 days, only took 2.5 hrs. My car was ready the next morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had detailed my car. I have heard of auto shops taking advantage of woman, but this wasn't the case...he treated me with respect and didn't make me feel dumb because I don't speak car language. Oh, and by the way....He even gave us a delicious slice of red velvet cake :-) yum To all you guys out there....I had a great experience and I'm sure you will too. I hope I never have car problems again, but if I do...I know where I'm going, as long as me and my car are getting excellent service...Alliance is my #1 choice!!!!

I am new to town and have been struggling a bit to get on my feet in a new area. My Jeep started to act up and I immediately panicked. Salvador is who I got to speak with and they were able to get me in that day and he was incredibly reassuring.
