I love this place, I felt like I was in there once a month last year as my old '99 Saab began to give out (clutch, water pump, etc.), just like old cars with 140k on the odometer and a lead-foot owner are apt to do. They always did a great job on my car, and Joe (owner) would take a lot of time to explain to me what was wrong and what they fixed. Joe would even tell me honestly it was time for me to start thinking about replacing the Saab, as the brand was out of business and parts would most likely become harder to find and even more expensive. It took me a year to take his advice. I will be taking my new car exclusively to Wright's for repairs and oil changes. My parent's take their cars here too. I have never had a problem with any of their repair work. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for honest shop that does great work!

Wright's German Motors is a shining example of what is wrong with the world today. Profit comes before good service. On July the 7th I took my VW Bus to Wright's German Motors to have the alignment done. The price $95 I thought was a little high but I was referred to them from another shop and I thought that for the price I could get the job done right.
We pull in and were treated respectably and made use of their office while we waited for the alignment to be done. As I see my 1972 VW Bus pull back up from the shop I am excited in hopes that she will no longer pull to the right. I had limited knowledge of alignment at this time but soon had to educate myself on the matter after. "That'll be $95" I pay the man known as Joe with a slight German accent and leave.
I drive down the road and notice that the bus is still pulling to the right. I am in a hurry to my next location and can't come back immediately as I have to fly out of town and drop the Bus off at another mechanic to have the valves checked. I did some research and the "caster" should have matched. They printed me out a report of the alignment and according to some VW Bus alignment documentation if the caster does not match on both sides of the vehicle it will pull to the side with the smaller number. My caster was 3.0 on the left and 2.0 on the right. Something that I thought a professional mechanic would catch and I would not. The shop I dropped my VW off also confirmed that the alignment was not done right.
When I come back to town I give "Joe" a call and let them know my alignment isn't right. The day is Monday the 18th the first day they are open when I get back. "We can't get you in until Thursday or Friday" Joe replies. "I am leaving town and cannot wait till Thursday or Friday can you try to get me in any sooner" I replied. "I am sorry, I can't" is all Joe replied. "I can't stay in town that long I have to be somewhere I will just have to dispute the charge".
This is my full experience at Wright's automotive. In my opinion Wright's automotive only cares about making a profit by charging high prices. They obviously don't care about their consumers safety or else they would have brought my vehicle in immediately to correct the problem. They let me drive off and pay $95 for a vehicle alignment that was done incorrectly without any regard to my safety and refused to quickly remedy this situation for the sake of good customer service and my safety. For now I have to fill out the dispute form and waste more of my time because Wright's automotive only cares about making money and not taking care of their customers.

Work was fine and staff was pleasant, but they charged me $90 for an OBD2 read and a check engine light clear. I pointed out that an hour of shop time for an OBD2 read was crazy since it's a five minute job; they didn't have an answer and offered me a break on other (overpriced) work instead of correcting the ridiculous price on the code pull. I won't be going back.

He charged me $83.65 for a standard oil change. I thought that seemed a bit steep, so I looked up how much oil changes are supposed to cost, and it is certainly not $83.65. I got home and my husband told me that I was way overcharged. My husband then called him immediately and the guy couldn't have cared less. The mechanic completely ripped me off with a smile on his face. GO ELSEWHERE.

This guy is a crook. My wife went for an oil change and he charged her $84! When I called to ask about the details he was rude and hung up on me. Went here one time before and it was the same service. Do not!! Take your car here!!

I had a very bad experience. They only got one star b/c they are quite polite ; politely bad mechanics. they have Joe who answers the phone and is very curteous. his German accent makes you think he is the owner and may know what he is doing,
The more i dealt with this place i realized he likely is just there to make it sound like they work on VWs.
I thought i was getting a courtsey inspection, but turns out they charged me $85, which i decided it was ok b/c i did not cleary ask them that. BUT, since all the info they gave me was wrong, i felt like i got ripped off. He very clearly told me several major things were wrong with my van and I then spent time and money getting them checked out and the Specialists (transmission place, A/c Place) all disagreed with him entirely.
Don't go here. Don't be fooled by the German accent.

I've gone to Joe for more than 30 years. He's worked on VWs (my first car, a classic bug), Toyotas and Volvos for me. He's always fixed it right the first time, called with a reasonable price and given excellent advice. When my husband went hybrid I asked Joe. He said keep the S80, it's a great car and has plenty of years in it. Since I've had Joe longer than my DH, I'm sticking with his auto advice. You can't go wrong at Wrights.

I am writing this review for a roundabout reason. My car has crapped out on me and as I live in a new city I have little direction on who to go to that I can trust not to rook me and fix only what needs fixing. As I grew up in Arvada, my family have been taking their cars to Wright's for as long as I can remember, years and years. And he's (I forgot his name, my bad) always been upfront and honest to us about any mechanical issue. The weird thing is our family has owned almost exclusively Toyotas, not German cars, throughout the years and he still knows what he's doing so it seems he doesn't need 'German' in his company name. I'm just passing along my civic duty, if you need an honest mechanic go to Wright's, now if someone could do me the same favor here in Pasadena...

If you have a Audi go here

They have fixed our cars in the past. I was told to go their after our Audi broke down. The first impressions of this place were bad. I did not think that they knew how to fix anything. I was way wrong. I go my car back in about a week. It…

Response to owner: I would think with 50 years of experience the mechanics would know that the caster should be the same on both sides. You didn't do your job right and now I had to drive to Washington State with bad alignment and I'm out $95.00. Thanks for nothing.

I am a woman and this shop is honest, clean and respectful. I have been going there for years I have recommended many friends. Honesty in this industry can be hard to come by.

I had a decent experience. On the one hand they were very honest when I took my recently bought 1.8t in and said my belts and water pump seemed very new, thus I didn't need to get the timing belt done. I had no history on the vehicle so this was a good thing to hear. On the other hand I wanted to do the APR ECU upgrade and was told over the phone it would be about $400, but ended up with about a $750 bill somehow. For a first time customer I felt this was kind of weird, since now I'm unlikely to go back. If this had been closer to my quote I would probably be sold and go back to them any time I needed major-ish service such as a clutch, etc. Now I'll keep searching around....

Joe has been taking care of my vehicles for over 10 years now. I can't say enough good things about this shop. They are fair, knowledgable, and best they are honest. They'll never try to get you with add ons or any other garbage. I trust Joe completely. You pay for what you get when it comes to quality mechanics, and while he may not be the "cheapest" out there, I'd rather have someone that knows what they are doing and has the experience to back it up!
