This place is great. Really took customer service to the next level.
After a diffrent car company had screwed up they were able to email and get all the information needed and set everything right.
If you have a problem they can fix it for you and do it with a smile making you feel right at home.
Thanks again for all your great help randy!

If you need to get an interlock device installed into your car, please DO NOT go to this dump of a place unless you want to be treated like a piece of trash and if you enjoy getting ripped off then maybe Long's car care center is the place for you. The employees at this place are super rude and very unhelpful especially the super old guy and that loud mouth pushy blonde lady (she is more of a beast than a lady). I've never been treated so poorly in my entire life, these people are not here to help they are only here to scam money out of people! Another thing you have to watch out for is Long's car care will purposely make there LifeSavor equipment malfunction so that you will have to pay out more money. Also when there equipment does malfunction they won't even investigate what the problem is/was, all they will do is put the blame onto YOU and then they will charge you more money!
Do you guys see the trend here? This place is only here to scam you out of more money!
The moral of this review is, if you need an interlock device installed into your car, go anywhere else but this dump of a place called Long's Car Care Center!!!

Recently brought my 2004 Acura TL in for my 105k service which involved changing the timing belt and plugs along with a few other things. Upon showing up I was amazed at how clean and nice of a building the shop was located in. I've taken my car to various other places and they don't hold a candle to how clean and updated this place is! The staff there were extremely nice and explained the break down of repairs and what kind of parts would be used. Aaron and Michelle went really above and beyond making sure I felt comfortable with all my repairs and made the experience as painless as possible. I'd highly recommend Longs to anyone and am so grateful to finally find a trustworthy, clean and friendly shop!

They've exceeded my expectations yet again. The crew at Long's have had our backs time and again. Recently, I got a new job, and the day after I started, my fuel pump went out. Tahoe would not start. Walking the boy to and from school is one thing, but walking to and from work when working 7-11pm in Woodinville and living in Kirkland, not happening. We had the truck towed to Long's and they had me back on the road in a day, with plenty of time to spare before my shift. These guys are fair, honest, and know what they're doing. Thanks guys

I brought my Ford Ranger in with a "Check Engine" light on and they did a great job fixing it quickly and at the cost of the estimate.
Plus, I couldn't get there in time to pick it up by 5, so the accounts person said that she would be able to let me pick it up and settle the bill after hours. I will definitely bring my other cars there when needed.

Was looking over the comments about Michelle, am surprised because I've had no problems with her at all. Based on her accent, I think she's originally from upstate NY or PA, maybe another case of Pac-NW culture clash with the East Coast.
I've been using Long's on and off for several years, haven't had any real complaints. Prices are fair, estimates have been pretty accurate and don't try to upsell un-necessary services. They've worked with me on scheduling. If I had a really tricky problem, I would go to a dealer, but for regular maintenance work, they're pretty good.

I have truly enjoyed the kind spirits and family feeling of Longs Car Care Center. My car issues are always taken care of quickly and affordably . I have never felt better about taking my car into a shop for maintenance until I came here. I definitely recommend this shop for any maintenance or questions!

We live in Spokane, but asked Long's Car Care if they would look over a car we were thinking of buying from a dealership very close to them. They were happy to do it. And for only $120!
We had the car dropped off at Long's and they called us pretty quickly afterward to say that we shouldn't buy the car. They made this determination so quickly that they didn't even charge us to look at the car. I chose this repair shop because I read the other reviews.
Obviously an ethical shop. We would have no way of knowing if they looked at the car in depth and would have gladly paid the $120. I highly recommend them.

The woman who works here was rude and abrasive. Car trouble is stressful and the last thing you need is attitude from the mechanic. Will not go back.

Long's is AAA Approved... and reviews looked to have promise.. so I gave'm a try. Albert was very patient during the appt setting process... realistic in his repair recommendations... and prompt in his check-ins. Extra points to Long's for offering early hour and Saturday appts. I've been a die-hard Smart Subaru fan for years (still love'm) but Long's is just down the street. While Long is not a dedicated Subaru shop, I'll be bringing them all my business.
_____________________________________________________________________
Update... last time I was in no Albert. Estimate was inflated because the mechanic didn't know enough about Subaru's to know that an easier option was available. My mistake... I'm back to Smart Subaru 100%.

My windshield wipers broke on the highway - not a good situation in Western Washington. While I was waiting for a tow, I called Long's to see when they closed. Even though they were closing at 5 PM, they still looked at my car when I got it there at 4:35 PM with no complaints. They fixed my wipers at a fair price and it saved my cross country road trip. I would recommend Long's to anyone who asked, super helpful and friendly even when they had cause not to be.
Thanks!

This place is GREAT!! I will be taking my car here in the future and refer friends to come here.
I first took my car to another mechanic (ah hem Firestone) because the brakes were squeaking. They told me it wasn't just the brakes but I also needed upper and lower ball joints (which by the way are not cheap; $1300 please!!). I did not have the money for the ball joints so I just had the brakes done thinking it'll help for now. My car squeaked MORE after they fixed the brakes and had me thinking I needed to hurry up and get those ball joints repaired.
Took my car to Longs for a second opinion. Not only did I NOT need the ball joints but my car was squeaking so bad because Firestone put the brakes on wrong!! These guys just saved me almost $1000 and I couldn't be happier with their work.
Thank you Longs for not trying to 'fix' what didn't need to be fixed!!

Read the other reviews and decided to take a chance on Long's. My 1998 Windstar failed emissions, and since the temp gauge wasn't registering I figured the thermostat was shot. I called Long's and spoke with Kevin, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He agreed that it sounded like a thermostat and told me to bring it in. I left the car Wednesday night and received a call Thursday morning confirming that the thermostat needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $250, which seemed high to my husband and I, but we approved the work (I was thinking this might be a case similar to another reviewers experience where the bill would actually be lower than the estimate). When I came in to pick up the car the bill came to $267. When I looked at the breakdown I was shocked to see that it was only $82 to replace the thermostat, and it was $94 for diagnostics! I can't believe they charged me more to hook the car up to the computer and read a code than they charged for the repair!
I talked to Kevin about this, even calling back after I got home and reviewed the bill in detail, but he refused to budge.
In the future we'll be taking our car back up to Jim Startup's in Everett. He's a great mechanic and he doesn't charge for diagnostics.

All of my experiences have been positive here. They do a good job, at reasonable rates. The people are friendly, the waiting area is clean and pleasant, wifi is available and there is a Shake 'n' Go in the parking lot. They are never too busy and usually can get me in and done quickly, even when I am unable to make an appointment. Of course, now that I am telling you all about them, they might begin to get busy, and then I might not get such quick service, and, well, never mind. Pretend you didn't see this.

I have always worked on my own cars, I enjoy it. Heck I grew up twisting wrenches in my fathers shop, its in my blood. but, time is money...
Now I own a small carpet cleaning and consulting firm and I depend on my service van to get me and my equipment to and from my clients homes safely.
Dads retired now so I'm great full I found Longs Automotive. I do my best to keep up on the daily maintenance but its great when I get my oil changed, they do a multi point inspection every time and give me a heads up on what is going on. They saved me a ton of money when they noticed the front breaks were wearing unevenly, catching this early prevented costly repairs. I have been using Longs for almost 3 years now and will continue to do so for all my vehicles while referring Long's to all my clients.
They really do, do it all, do it right, guaranteed! Thanks Randy!

For full disclosure, I am far from a gear head. I work on computers, not cars. I know where the gas goes, and could change the oil and a tire if necessary...but beyond that I am pretty useless.
Earlier this month I purchased a used vehicle from a private dealer that seemed to be running fine. Admittedly it had alot of miles on it, but it seemed to be running just fine. 2 weeks to the day after purchasing the vehicle the car would not start. An hour previously it was running fine. So I called AAA and had it towed to my home. I did my research through AAA and Yelp and found Long's Automotive not far from my home. I shot a video of what the car sounded like and was doing when I tried to start it and emailed it to Long's Automotive via their website (
). Within a couple of hours I received an email response from Randy Long, the owner. At first he was shocked, cause it was the first time someone sent him a video to try to troubleshoot. Then he went on to say that if he had to take a wild guess it sounded like my timing belt had gone on it. But he would have to look at it first hand to confirm. Later that night I had AAA tow my car to Long's Automotive.
The next day I got a call from Randy saying that sure enough it was the timing belt. He also recommended that with the mileage on my car that they replace the water pump at the same time. He gave me a quote over the phone. I proceeded to do some research by calling around to a few more shops, searching the net, and talking to a few friends who were motor heads. Overall, I found that his quote was pretty spot on. Other shops I called quoted me a few hundred dollars more even. So I decided to have them do the work.
Once I gave Randy the approval he told me they would have it done a few days later. Sure enough, my car was done a few days later, and almost 10% under quote. My car started right up and I have not have any further problems.
Long's Automotive is a family owned operation. They treated me fairly, and I would not hesitate to bring my car back or recommend them to friends.
Thank you Randy and your team! If only all auto shops were as trustworthy.

you won't find a more professional, knowledgeable mechanic than Long's auto. i have been going here for years, and i can always count on repairs to get done in a timely fashion, and i am very trusting of their service and work. they have told me at times when i didn't need to get certain work done after other auto mechanic places tell me i needed something, so Long's always does right by their customer's and never sells me on additional repairs and service that i do not need. their mechanics are highly skilled and trained, the owner really cares, and the Service Manager Kevin was an absolute pleasure to deal with. he always returned my calls on time and provided me updates on my car getting worked on. then he washed and vacuumed my car without even asking me!! that was a nice surprise. Long's is such a better value than infiniti of kirkland, and i trust them more than any dealership. they really know their stuff here, are friendly and want to earn your business. for me, it all comes down to TRUST. they also were much cheaper than my dealership's prices on basic tune ups and oil changes....for me, there's only one word you need to know--LONG's. just try them once and you'll be a customer for life like me....there's no going back after you have had a taste of professionalism. they are very sincere and they do very good work at reasonable prices. i feel happy that i have found a good mechanic whom i can trust. my 2 cars run great at over 250,000 miles because of Long's...they help keep both of my cars running, and they are very friendly with a great attitude. i highly suggest them!!

My daughter just had her 2002 Focus towed there. Alternator out. She even told them that was what she thought it was. $85 diagnostic fee. Didn't look at her car until 2pm the following day and so she had two hours before they closed to get it fixed. Charged $750 for an alternator. $370 for the part. I called my local mechanic and he would have charged $450 total. $220 for the part. Then I called O'Reilly's and their cost was $224 for the part. How abusive to take advantage of a young college girl. They also wanted to fix her toggle switch and told her the alternator went out due to an oil leak. NOT unless oil was dumped directly ON the alternator. Scammers. I am pursuing this in other avenues because I do not want anyone else to be taken by such a scamming operation. Oh they did give her AAA discount of 10% when I called. Odd wonder why they didn't give her that upfront knowing she was towed via AAA. You tell me.

My Toyota Truck needed brakes and had a small oil leak so I stopped by Long's to get an estimate. They would need the truck as opposed to an hourly rate which is fine as it indicates they aren't using a labor and parts pricing program. They text me to confirm the work needed and price including tax before working on my truck and also gave me a firm price (tax included) for a "90 K mile service" which is a full day of work, a lot of parts as I'd asked about that since my truck is close to 90,000 miles. We have that scheduled for later. The price for both services was quite a bit below other shops in the area. They were very accommodating to my work hours, communication while my truck was there, after hours pick up, weren't dismissive of any mechanical concerns nor too busy to answer a few questions in text and in person. They didn't leave grease/dirt on the inside of the truck as some shops do that use a "runner" who is bouncing around the shop. I'm happy with brakes that work and no oil leak (minor fix, asked for oil change since it was there). They aren't new to the area, I'd just figured it changed hands since the new shop was built and would be just another shop - I was wrong on that and will be taking it back in a month for a mini-overhaul and any other work a 14 year old daily driver truck will be needing in the future without any regret. Honest review, work performed Dec 4 2015.

Professional, competent, courteous. I took my can in with an electrical issue. They were able diagnose the problem quickly and only charged me a fraction of the diagnostic fee since they figured it out so quickly. And the quote for the repair was better than the other 5 shops I called for the same service.

My headlight quit working shortly after they fixed it. It turned out to be due to a pervious accident that was causing a short. They fixed it again for no additional charge and it's still working great!
