If you could leave no stars, I would. I am a woman whose car broke down at night. I had it towed to Interstate and knew it was my starter. I got a call from the mechanic telling me it was the starter and that the starter alone would be $435. Total with labor would be $650. I drive an import and do know repairs are a little more expensive but that seemed excessive. He also tried to sell me a battery which I declined. I told him to go ahead and install the starter because I felt I had no other choice. In the meantime, I checked online for a starter. I found a Bosch starter for $125. I also called another mechanic in the area to find out how much a starter for my import would cost. He said it should be no more than $350 with parts and labor. When I went to pick up my car, they rang up a total of $660. Before I gave them my credit card, I asked why the bill was so much as I did some research. The mechanic came out and I called it out to him. He then said he found a cheaper starter that would save some money. If I didn't say anything, I would have been charged the $660. He kept throwing out the Bosch starter name, which I highly doubt is in my car. Then he said $660 is what the dealer would charge. So they were going to charge me what the dealer would charge! He did end up taking $100 off the bill. However, it was still $200 over what I would have paid elsewhere in the area. The only good thing is it was fixed within 24 hours. However, anyone else in the area could have done the same for a lot less money.

Please do not trust anyone at Interstate. They actually sabotaged my vehicle to have me come back multiple times for repairs. I was overcharged and ripped off as well. I will never go back and I do not recommend them to anyone. Go elsewhere in Hackettstown.

I went here to Interstate Car and have been coming here for years, this shop does a great job on repairs and car maintanance. They do everything quickly and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful with any questions i have. Extremely Reasonable prices, Knowledgeable, Service/Timeliness, Take the Extra Service-Steps, WILL Return AGAIN, WILL Recommend to friends

Been bringing my families cars here for a few years now, wouldn't go anywhere else. They are fast, and reliable. I use them for the routine maintenance that I can't do myself, as well as for the occasional dreaded "check engine " light. They always get it done..period .Thanks guys, for all the jobs well done!

I have been having my 2005 Honda serviced there for years,because of their knowledge of my car s needs, they have provided me with a trouble free car for many years ...They are EXCELLENT !!! Interstate Auto Repair is able to fix and repair my car quickly and at very reasonable prices, not like the overpriced charges of dealerships. They have provided me with back and forth car service to my home and job , while my car was being repaired there. The staff Bruce and Frank always are knowledgeable and get the services done quickly and perfect. I have recommended this Interstate Auto Repair to all my friends and family over years and will continue to do so. GREAT Auto Repair Center !!!!!

This place is a rip off! Stay away. I was charged $42.50 for a regular low-beam headlight bulb replacement (not LED or Xenon, it was $8 bulb for 2007 Honda Accord). On the side note: Customer waiting room stinks like people was smoking there for years. Once again, stay away from this place!

Stay away from this place and save yourself some money!!!!! They told me I needed an alternator and that it would cost over $800 just for the new alternator!!!! Thought price was insane so I took my car to the dealer and they tested the alternator and said it was good. Long story short I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau

Don't bring you car there!!! Total rip off!!! Very bad job on brakes, have to replaced twice already pads and rotors after 10 months (8000 miles) after paying almost $600 . Not honest , taking advantage over you, think that you are stupid.
