A rip off!!!!! SUNNY, the elderly man, we thought, was very informative. We thought.
My cousin was having problems with her air conditioner system. We took her car in. We also asked if he could replace the bulbs for her signal lights and repair the arms on her wheels, she had gotten an estimate on the arms prior... but Mr. Sunny told her that they dont break, and all was needed was some WD40. After all that was asked... he never gave us an estimate on the repairs.
We dropped the car off at 10 am... by 5 pm he called and said the car wasnt ready. The next afternoon, we picked up the car. $800.
Immediately she noticed that the car was not blowing cold air. She turns around and took the car back. Mr. Sunny told her it was too late to repair her air conditioner and to bring the car back the next morning.
That following morning, she takes the car back... he puts in some anit-freeze and dye, saying that the dye will tell if theres leaks in her air conditioning system. $400.
The very next day we take the car back! Its still blowing hot air! Now its Friday... we were there for four hours. He never looked at the car. So inconvenient. We ask when will the car be ready, he said.... not today. We were pissed! Mr. Sunny told us to bring the car back Monday morning.
Its Monday morning at 9 am. We take the car back. Called at 3 pm to see if its ready. Mr. Sunny tells us that he hadn't got to it yet. OMG! We had to leave the car at his shop.
Tuesday morning, we call to see what time the car would be ready... Mr. Sunny told us that there is more things wrong with the car. So we drive up there, Mr. Sunny is no where to be found.. we are very upset at this point. So we talk to the only guy that actually does the mechanical work there. Mr. Will... and he tells us whats he has found...
She needed new arms... remember Mr. Sunny said WD40??? Break pads, roaders for the front, a new air filter. We told Mr. Will that Mr. Sunny said the arms dont break and all was needed was WD40. Mr. Will said, dad shouldn't have told you guys that.
We asked him how much would it cost to fix everything, so.. he gets on the phone with O'Reillys auto parts and gets quotes for the things we need.. we go pick the stuff up, $477.
When we get back to the shop... Mr. Sunny is still not there.. Mr. Will was straight forward.. he tells us that labor would not be more than $200, and the car would be ready in a hour... now, Mr. Sunny walks up. He is pissed because he sees all that we've bought at the auto parts store...
He tells us that his son should have spoken to him before informing us about what was wrong with the car.. we ask him... so how long before the car would be ready... he said maybe tomorrow... now theres an argument.. he said... this is my shop... and we said.... but we've been paying you! Mr. Will stepped in and stopped the arguing and said he will stay and work on the car until its done.
At 5 pm.. Mr. Sunny calls and tells us that the cost will be $800. We are so angry..
We go get the car, and ask him to justify the cost.. he said, for parts and labor. Now the arguing starts again. I showed him the receipt for our purchase for the parts, and he pulls out his tax books, saying that he has to pay his taxes... what the hell does his taxes have to do with us? Then he tells us that, if we had brought the car up on time that morning he wouldn't have to charge for rush labor... we brought the car to him the day before. We asked him if he was loosing his mind. He forgot that hes been having us bring the car to him every day for almost a week. Hes kept the car in his shop over night, twice. I told him that it seems that hes got dementia... he told me to get out!
My cousin paid the bill... and guess what??? The air in her car still didn't work.
Later, we found out that he does this same thing to females that he does not know. And has been doing this for years.
He come up with these crazy prices, refuses to give a clear estimate, and does not care that he inconvenience you by not fixing your car and holding in his shop.
Oh... he said that he makes commission off the auto parts, and that his son should have not told us to go buy them.
