Amazing!! Lee and the team at A1 Muffler were fast and honest and did a fantastic job!
We brought our car in to get looked at as the coolant light came on and then the car died from overheating. Towed it over and left keys in the key drop since it was after hours with name and number. Next morning Lee called just after 9am to find out the issue and said he could take a look and call me back. Called back soon after with a diagnosis of a leaking radiator. Gave the okay for the repair and he said they would be done by 3pm.
Around 2pm I got another call from Lee saying, it wasn't good, and fearing the worst, I braced myself for the bad news. Lee said the new radiator had been installed and tested and the leak still occurred. He admitted it was a misdiagnosis on the part of his tech and that it was actually a hole in the water pump bypass which was spraying directly onto the radiator which made it appear like the radiator had the hole.
He told me he wasn't sure they could fix it, but he would find out and also see how much it would be to fix. He ended up calling at 4:30 with the news that while they uninstalled the new radiator and reinstalled our old radiator, they were able to weld the hole in the bypass.
Lee said he couldn't charge me for labor on work that wasn't right, and so he was willing to settle the bill for the cost of the antifreeze and some of their time. For a grand total of $40, Lee delivered on his word and had us back on the road in great shape!
Most other mechanics will still charge an exorbitant diagnostic fee, and a lot of the ones I have been to previously have charged me for something that didn't end up fixing my problem or that I didn't need. Lee was not like the others. He was sincere and honest, apologized for the error (which understandably happens when working on cars), and made it right by me as a customer by not charging me for the work where most others would have.
Thank you Lee for being an upstanding guy when your line of work has so many examples of people who don't do what's right. We will be taking all of our business to you and your team from now on!

Great shop. They removed my mufflers on my Cadillac for me and put in the blank pipes perfectly. Nice, small shop without the pomp and circumstance of a lot of muffler shops. Can work on grandma's car or enthusiast projects. A++

This is the way it should be done. This man runs a proper business with the most expedient and honest work possible. I needed a performance exhaust installed in a pinch. My regular mechanic was booked a week out, and would have cost me more than double.
I cautiously adventured into the Muffler Shop search.
The reviews brought me to A1. Called, spoke to the owner who was extremely pleasant, drove in, left the car, and went for a coffee. Within half an hour I was driving away with the new exhaust. They even *cleanly* welded an area for me for strength - at no cost.
Do yourself a favor and go to A1 if you need your performance exhaust done. It's a pleasant experience and the guy does honest, professional work. Highly recommended... don't waste your time going anywhere else.

I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon to receive a quote for my 2015 Ram. Just wanted a deeper more throaty tone for my Hemi.
Lee gave me a reasonable rate to install a new muffler.
We agreed we to do the work the next afternoon.
I arrived and they set to work on my truck right away. They quoted me a time frame of 1-1/2 hours for the work to be completed.
Went to lunch and came back 35 min later and they were just wrapping up. Went in to pay and it was complete!!
Make sure it sounded the way I wanted and I was out in 45 min!!

I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger and wanted to do a muffler delete. After dealing with a lot of people on the Westside in Hillsboro who kept wanting to make my car quieter, I decided to try A1 out. the reviews are great an the owner seems to have lot of experience.
Was quoted 140 for the delete, and maybe slightly more due to the tips. So I was prepared. I got in at 10:30 and was done by 11:20. Lee charged me the 140, even though they had to do the tips, was great. Fast and the work looks great. I will take a small dusty waiting room with these guys, over those fancy ones other have, as the service here was amazing.
Oh and my car sounds like a beast.

Lee, the owner of this org, is a solid guy with honest and genuine advice on any type of Exhaust issues in car. I had this scary P430 code (Catalytic converter issue) in my car. Lee fixed it in reasonable price and I renewed my DEQ certificate. Best muffler shop in the area which I came across.

So after reading the numerous I decided to give these guys a visit. If there was any way I could give this place more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat.
My 20 year old truck had a "Check Engine" light on (o2 sensor I already knew about) and 20 year old Catalytics / Muffler too.
I had already got a quote from Lee (via the message center here on Yelp), he was not there when I arrived but without me saying I had already had a quote from the owner, the other gentleman (my apologies for not remembering names) quoted me the exact same price. Showed me these guys are completely on the same page and honest. So honest in fact I had them do what I was planning on doing myself the next day (change the 02 sensor). Left there with no more expect engine light on, new catalytics and a new muffler for an amazing price.
To everyone out there, these guys know what they are VERY good at what they do and VERY honest. I even got lucky and was in and out in about 90 mins. The only reason it took that long was they were finishing up working on a BMW when I got there. Being there at 3:30 in the afternoon and having it done that fast was amazing.
My 20 year old truck sounds and runs awesome.
As far as I'm concerned, Lee you have a customer for life. Thank you and all of your crew.

A1 has some pretty stellar Yelp reviews, and I'm going to add another. I stopped in early in the afternoon to ask them about helping with an admittedly odd problem. They were quite busy and I didn't have an appointment, so they asked me if I could come back by in a couple of hours. This was not a problem for me, so I ran a few errands and stopped back at the agreed upon time. They were able to quickly get me in, and after a brief consult and a minor change to the work I needed done, get me in and out in under 30 minutes - all for an EXTREMELY reasonable price. I'll also add that the floor-show you get from the folks there and their regular customers is a pure value-add! I'm happy to give a solid 5-star review to these folks!

I cannot say enough good things about Lee and his business. Based on others' prior reviews here, I dropped by unannounced last Friday for an estimate on my '13 Toyota Tundra Crewmax SR5. Lee came out, took one look underneath and said he could do what I asked but there was no reason because of the size of the OEM pipes already installed. He offered me a perfect alternative at a fraction of the cost, and after 90 minutes this morning the truck has the sound and appearance I wanted. I'll be referring family, friends, co-workers -- and anyone else I can talk to -- to A1.
They've more than earned their name.

Was in a pinch and owner stayed after hours to work on my custom header application. Very impressed that they accommodated me same day and delivered what they'd promised. Actually, when job was done price was $50 less than quoted... I was so happy I gladly gave him the extra $50!

A+ ... Friendly straight shooters not trying to gouge or upsell ... Lee and the other guy are cool, and both are highly skilled welders .... They did a great job on my muffler + a few feet of pipe in an hour.... No added "shop supplies" or extra crap charges we see all the time now in auto repairs... I recommend these guys!

This guy is the real deal. He is friendly, honest, straight forward, answers your questions directly, I am very new to the area and needed a muffler for my 96 GMC 1/2Ton. I called around and got one ridiculous quote of 400 to 420. Called a couple other places and were upwards of 225 to 300. That was more then I wanted to pay. I was ready to wire a coffee can around the hole. I read the review of Lee's place and said what the heck. Called him, gave him the specs of the truck, he quoted me a GOOD price out the door and we set an appointment for today Monday 6-15-15. I arrived at the appointed time, the muffler had been delivered, car went on the hoist, and within an hour he was done. No attempt to add on, up sell or anything like that. I got exactly what I wanted and expected. Great experience, great conversation, clean operation, and he does breaks too. I will return to have Lee work on my vehicles. Lee is the owner by the way.

Truly outstanding service! I brought my 2004 Volkswagen Jetta into the dealership because I was having problems with the muffler. They found that the catalytic converter had broken off, and told me they'd have to replace the entire muffler system. It would have taken them a few days to get the parts, and they were going to charge me $2000. I brought my car into A1, and they were able to fix the problem in an hour with some welding, at a cost of $100 even. That's a $1900 savings over what I would have spent at the dealer! I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs muffler service.

These guys were friendly, shot me straight on what my car did and didn't need, and charged significantly less than other estimates I got. The work took only slightly longer than they estimated (only 20-30 minutes longer) but it was well worth it. No hidden charges or hard-press upsell. No condescending talk to the pregnant lady who doesn't know much about brakes. Plus, they did the work well and it fixed the problem (needed new front brakes) right
the first time.
There's no fancy waiting room, but hey..The Original Pancake House is just a few blocks away, and it filled in well in a pinch.

Bring your checkbook because you will be charged twice as much as taking your car to the dealership.
I bought a Groupon to A1 Muffler thinking I was getting a deal ($90 for front brake replacements) only to be quoted $480 when I actually arrived. I apparently needed new brakes, new rotors, and new sensors. Fair enough, right? Well, I decided to call the Audi Dealership (most expensive quote you can possibly get) and they quoted me less than $350 for the exact same services. I brought this to the mechanics attention and he talked himself out of his original estimate. Said it was only a ballpark figure and it could change once he entered everything into his computer. The updated price he came up with was $330 (on top of the $90 Groupon I had). Big swing from his original quote, but I guess this is how they make money.
I talked him down $130 from his original quote, but I still ended up paying $330 over my original expectation. Don't be a sucker and buy a Groupon to this place like I did.

Lee is a great guy and runs a great business. We have been going to him for years and have recommended him several times. It is hard to find someone who runs their business with integrity and honesty and this guy does just that. I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my vehicles to him and I would trust that he would give me the best price and do a great job. A rarity to find but totally recommend A-1. Price compare and you will find A-1 will give you the best deal plus they are honest so will not try to rip you off saying you need something when you don't.

My girlfriend's car was making a weird noise so she brought it here for an inspection. The inspection was free and they diagnosed the problem and fixed it for a very reasonable price. The service was quick and Lee was very friendly and straightforward about what needed to be done. No BS like many other mechanics. Would definitely go back here and recommend this shop to anyone.

This is the best place for service. I took my Ford Mustang in because it looked like something was hanging down from the exhaust system after scraping bottom on a speed bump. It turn out it's a FORD counter-weight, which is totally unnecessary addition they put on the car! They Welded it off for FREE! No more hanging weight! Talk about excellent customer service. Thanks!

I took my Suburban in to Lee with a rattle... 10 minutes later he had diagnosed the problem as a loose heat shield... 10 minutes after that he had tack welded it and had me on my way. My radiator started spouting fluid on Tuesday. I brought it in to Lee just after noon on Wednesday. He called me a little over a half hour later with a very reasonable quote to replace the cracked radiator. By 4:30 the job was done. One of the guys even stayed a few minutes after close so I could pick up my car when I got stuck in traffic. I am so happy with the fast and courteous service. Nice guys there for sure. They totally helped me out. I replaced both exhaust manifolds myself but couldn't get the pipes back on the manifolds due to bad threads on the studs. They took care of it in an hour!

Brakes were shot and leaking on Saturday. Called him on Monday, he said we could bring it in for diagnosis and estimates, but won't get started on until Tuesday. Figured out the problem in less than 20 minutes, called me promptly about it. Had it fixed and called me to tell me it was ready by 11am Tuesday. Very nice and timely. So far feels pretty trustworthy. Good place and people.
