I was looking to find a good used SUV for the wife and found what seemed to be a great deal on a Honda Pilot and was referred to Eric from a friend to have it checked out.
Eric went above and beyond even adding a couple bolts to the back latch, tighten up a "rattling" sound for the owner even before I purchased it!
As well even more importantly was able to give me a solid analyze of the condition of the vehicle and a couple specific points of "wear and tear" that need attention in the near future. As well as able to confirm the Maintenance the owner told me he had done to it... (Brakes, shocks, etc..)
If your looking to buy a used car of any kinda, and even more so a "Honda, Toyota, or Subaru", hints Eric's business name "HTS" you got to go see Eric!
Great experience for a great price!
* I'll give everyone an update soon on the "Engine mounts" work I am going to have Eric do that he found before I bought the SUV, to prevent the further effects they will have the rest of the engine left in their current condition.

Eric is awesome and so his his shop. He just put a trailer hitch on my mini for a great price. Most shops said they couldn't do it!!! If you need a reliable, good hearted, trustworthy mechanic he's your guy!! Do yourself a favor and see him. He also has a really cute pup that hangs out in his shop

Wow, what a great job! Eric and his shop are absolutely amazing. It seems you have two options in the automotive world: Go to a dealership where they've got the expertise, but charge you double... or go to an independent, where the cost is reasonable, but they work on too many types of cars and may or may not know how to work on yours. Eric is the best of both worlds: He has the expertise in imports, and keeps his prices reasonable. If you drive an import and live in the Denver area, go to HTS Automotive.

Eric fixed my plastic engine cover underneath for no charge whatsoever in about 20 minutes. It was my first trip to him but it won't be the last. Thanks Eric!

Eric is the best mechanic I've ever had. He is efficient, straight forward, extremely knowledgeable, and very fair. I found him when my Honda Accord leaked oil all over (some lower engine cover gasket that Hondas are known to have issues with). My car savvy friends found Eric in a review somewhere and called him. After discussing the repairs with him, and several other mechanics, they suggested I have my car towed to HTS. Took it there Saturday night, it was ready for pick up end of business Monday- and he's not even open Sundays! He did the timing belt also since it had oil on it from the gasket leaking and only charged me for the part and maybe 30 mins of labor since he was already in that part of the engine. Total was around $450 - everyone else wanted $500-$700 for just the gasket, not including the timing belt!! He's been my mechanic ever since. When money was tight, I'd ask him to laundry list items that needed to be done and give me guidance on what was crucial and what could wait, along with dollar amounts and timeframes. That way I could budget for repairs as they became necessary. He was always straight with me, NEVER pushed for something I didn't need, and even let me know if I could fudge on repairs until I could afford. Most repairs/services he'd schedule with me would take less than 2 hours and I'd just wait in the office. Everyone else wants at least half a day to a day and you're stuck figuring out what to do for that time.
I had him look over a used Subaru I just bought (quoted me 1.5 - 2 hours at $75-more than fair) but was done in 20 minutes. I panicked, thinking I was screwed. He said it was in great shape and the work that had been done by the dealer was top notch - he was so fast because there just wasn't anything wrong with the car. He did adjust some heat shield he heard rattling underneath and didn't want to charge me (made him take $30). Again, he's not a scammer!
He's a great mechanic and a really good guy. Highly recommend him! Side note- he does work on all cars, but specializes in Toyotas, Hondas and Subarus. He can be busy at times because he does work on race cars for folks that do off road racing (Subarus, etc) but it's worth trying to reach him a few times and wait if you have to/can do so. He does text which is helpful for me.

I can't say more positive things about this place. Eric (the mechanic/owner) is a fantastic resource--honest, hardworking, delivers on time and on budget. I've dealt with many mechanics over the years before finding HTS--now I head straight here when I need anything car-related. A few things I really value:
1. He will tell you what needs to be done immediately, what can wait a few months, and what things you'll need to think about 6+ months out.
2. He'll tell you how you can knock a few dollars off and give you an honest recommendation--sometimes used parts save you money (and he'll source them for you and get them delivered), sometimes it's only a little more expensive to just buy new. He'll tell you his recommendation and then let you decide.
3. I call and he'll get me in as soon as possible, usually the next day.
4. After I drop my car off, he'll call/text (whatever works for me that day) and tell me what's happening and how much it's going to cost. Then I authorize the work and he makes it happen.
5. Whenever I'm considering buying a car, I always take it to Eric and have him check it out first. He'll do a thorough inspection for a great price and help make sure that you're getting a good deal (or let you know if someone's done shoddy work that will only end up costing you money in the long run).
Seriously, this place has diagnosed problems that other people gave me GIGANTIC quotes for because they really don't know what's wrong. HTS has saved me thousands of dollars and keeps my cars running smooth. I live in Lafayette/Boulder and it's worth the trip down to HTS.
