HONEST MECHANICS. Short story - passing through Jackson we had brake trouble (loud screeching noise) on our truck. Expecting to need new brakes, we bought new rotors and pads. Took our truck to Able Auto and, to our surprise, they discovered we had plenty of life left on our old brakes! Screeching noise was apparently a rock or piece of metal that got caught in the wheel. If these guys were dishonest, they could have just installed the new brakes and charged us for it. You can take your vehicle here with confidence that you are dealing with honest people.

Traveled to Jackson, Wyoming for a vacation and had car trouble. Called Abel Auto and they got us towed and in the shop under an hour. We thought for sure we were stranded for a few days but the guys in the shop were amazing. Caring and compassionate! They really care about the "one time" customer. They were smart and HONEST. Showed us our issues, gave us information about future needs, and fixed our car all before the dinner hour. We are back on the road and enjoying this beautiful country. Thank you so much Abel Auto and Jay!!! Hope they pay you well!

We were visitors to Jackson and Able Auto was able to see us right after we called around 3pm. It was easy to find, they ordered our brakes and rotars having them in and ready for us by 9am the next morning. We were able to be on the road by 11am the next day. No problems on our 1500 mile drive home. Awesome!

This place came recommended by someone who had been there before. Man I'll never trust his judgement again. Dropped my truck off on a Wed. night and left for a trip and told them I needed my repair done by early Monday afternoon. The repair was a simple two hour max job. I returned Monday afternoon and it looked like my truck hadn't moved. When I went in to pay they told me they hadn't gotten to my truck yet and were hoping to get to it that day. They had more than enough time do the job. I understand if you get backed up and can't get to a job but at least call the customer and let them know!!! I won't ever bring my vehicle to these people again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone as well.

Honest mechanic here, had transmission issues but also inquired about a bad wheel bearing that I was told about after getting an alignment done the year before. The shop that did the alignment wanted to fix it right away but I noticed no noise, figured a year later, maybe I should have it checked. Able Auto told me there was no such issue, could've took me for that cost but did not. They fixed my transmission properly and sent me back on the road. Unbelievable right, a mechanic that takes a customers self diagnoses and says, nope, nothing wrong.

We had a "service engine soon" light appear on our trip. Stopped at a few places to see about a diagnosis...were referred to Able Auto. Really helpful, even though they were obviously busy. Checked out our code and reset the computer in about 5 minutes!

Great folks who went out of their way to get us back on the road. I wish they were in Maryland so we could use them for all our cars. Veteran owned and operated, too!!!

We have used most of the shops in Jackson and Wilsonover the past 40 years. A few of them are simply terrible depending upon who did the job. Able took care of my daughter and a foreign visitor this Christmas with a complicated problem in a late model Volvo. My daughter's 91 toyota would sometimes not crank. I figured it was an expensive ignition problem. It was just the starter contacts and Dan and the men at Able could have thrown in a $200 starter+ labor but instead they rebuilt it for a fraction of that and had her out the door for half that which included the labor. Very sharp and what's more very nice people with unquestioned competence. The Volvo was a complicated issue but they took care of that with overnight parts delivery. My foreign friend was very pleased. These guys are ethical and intelligent and if you are an out of town stranger afraid of being "taken" to the cleaners with auto repairs, consider no other shop.

I've been taking my vehicles to Able Auto for years--first a Subaru, which is one of their specialties, and more recently a VW Eurovan, which is not. I've never had a bad experience with them, and on more than a few occasions they've simply handed the vehicle back over to me and told me that what I thought had been a problem wasn't a problem at all. They're competent, honest, pleasant, and quick. I brought the VW to the "local expert" at first (Shervin's), only to find that while they might have been competent, they were neither honest nor pleasant. Despite the fact that Eurovans were not exactly Able Auto's specialty, they've done the same good work with that brand that they had done with the Subi. I won't take my car anywhere else.
