A mechanic you can trust is hard to find. We are lucky to have such in our neighborhood. Can't recommend enough Greg and his crew. Very much appreciate the patience while I decided what to do about my truck & quite happy with my decision to keep the ol' thing on the road. Never ran better!

After being lied to and told to trade in my 2011 Vw cc by Kuhn because oil is leaking onto my water pump and the whole job would cost me $3500 I took it in to Greg where he checked and it was only the water pump needed to be replaced for a fraction of the cost. His honesty and good work will have me back in his shop but hopefully not too soon

All work on my car was completed in one day. I brought it in around 9:30am and got it back a little after 5pm. Bonus that this place is only about a mile from my house so I rode my bike home after dropping the car off and then rode back to get it.
Greg himself talks to you about what you'll need done however I wasn't offered a quote when I talked about bringing the car in, only once it was already there and they'd gotten into it did he call and say "This is how much everything is."
My total was $320-something.
Replacing 3 belts (timing, steering, one more) was under $150 which I found very reasonable. I bought a battery, had it installed, and had the metal connector parts replaced (corrosion). However, I was charged over $60 for an oil change. I brought the oil and filter myself so the $60 was just for labor...it seems very excessive. I also spent $20-ish to have my headlights replaced, which were also provided by me. You're probably thinking, "What kind of dummy can't change her own oil and headlights?" Well, some jerk stole my ramps and hydraulic jack (not here in Tampa) and I can't fit under my car without it being elevated (thanks, boobs). 2 of my headlight screws rusted (it's an Indiana car) and broke off inside the assemblage so I couldn't get them out.
In conclusion, overall pricing for repairs seems ok, turnaround time was great, Greg is nice, the giant aquarium in the lobby is nice to look at, the grouchy little office cat made friends with me, the couches are comfy, and there are plenty of magazines to look at while you wait. I recommend this place, but if you're having your oil changed you'd better ask for a quote first. I'd hate to think what it would've cost me if I HADN'T brought my own filter and full-synthetic oil with me. It probably would've been well over a hundred dollars just for an oil change!

I was referred to Greg Bailey Auto and was told he is an honest, trustworthy mechanic. I have been there several times now with my car and I can say that Greg lives up to that reputation. Honest, reasonable pricing . You will not go wrong with Greg. I will continue to use his shop and will continue to refer others.

Greg has been the best mechanic ever! He has saved our cars by prolonging their lifespan since he was in high school, and so was I! My family has followed him from the downtown location to his present shop. He has done everything for our cars to include rebuilding the engines for my Mother's VW Bug a few times! Greg is now working on my daughter's Mazda, keeping it going. He is very honest and a superb artisan. Greg loves what he does! Overall, he is a good man and a decent person who has an intact moral compass. So many places will rip you off. With Greg this has never been the case, and we go back to the 1970's

Greg is the most straight forward honest mechanic in Tampa. I recommend him to all my friends with foreign cars, especially German makes. He keeps my 2006 VW Toureg going like new, always quick service for the best price in town. I have shopped around and no one beats his prices, from big jobs to an oil change. And he is very knowledgeable. He can figure out issues very quickly and get it done right the first time. Cant say enough good things about this man and his establishment. Thank you, Greg!!!!!!

I have experienced such horrendous service at a number of Tampa repair shops that I feel it fair to call out the best experiences I think I have ever had with a mechanic. I have had 3 or 4 major repairs done at Greg's shop and each time I was extremely pleased with the price and quality of the work. I find Greg to be a knowledgeable and straightforward guy with no inclination to rip off his customers. He offers a warranty on his work (inquire with him for specifics) and unlike other mechanics I have dealt with, he actually honors the warranty without a hassle or undue grief. Greg and I share an air-cooled VW background and I feel he still carries that humble good guy ethos I appreciate from the old school air-cooled folks. He works on all makes but I usually see more German vehicles than anything else there. I trust him unconditionally with my car and I highly recommend him for all your auto repair needs.
