I use this place a couple times a year. I am into classic cars and they do great exhaust work. Craig knows how to put together a nice system and prices are right. He's expanded into general repair, so I took him a car that needed 4 things done. Nice job on all repairs and price was very fair.
They were very busy on my last visit so the word must be getting out. Nice family business that's been in Castle Rock for years.
I recommend.

I found this great shop and business owners just a month ago. I had a very great experience getting the muffler for my Toyota. The owners are very kind, patient and honest. I will definitely be getting all of my car work done there. My son has had them work on his jeep two time now and he felt the same way. I HIGHLY recommend this auto service shop!

Went here due to the great reviews. Took car in Thursday morning, no phone calls. Got through to them in the evening, short staffed, would have it done Friday. End of Friday got a call, it would be Monday. End of Monday got a call, come get it Tuesday morning.
All the work was done, car battery got disconnected so I had to manually start up the navigation system and radio from lockouts, they didn't do that. They changed the oil but didn't reset the counter on the dash for that either.
Sad to have this experience given how good a time everyone else seems to have had.

Short and simple: Craig and crew have your auto repairs on lock down. Tired of that crappy chain business that reads you a script? This is the answer. When you need something done these are the guys to come to.
I needed my exhaust bent back to normal on my Subaru after backing into a curb. Craig got my lowered car up on a lift, the exhaust torched and a rod in my hand to help bend it back in no time at all.
Im a very hands on type person and these guys were right there with me. Props again, I will most definitely be back.

My car has been there recently. I have been going to this place for several years, Not once have I been disappointed in the work that they have a performed. it is not fun with your vehicle breaks down, nor its not cheap to fix. However, every time I have to take my vehicle there they have met my expectations.thay are very upfront about what is the problem, and potential problems down the road. The front office reception is very friendly, and we'll work hard finding deals for parts, new, and use parts if you request it.
I have been comeing to this mechanic for years, and will not take my vehicle anywhere else to be fix. Some truth is if I need something fixed I will take it here. I dint go here for oil changes I do it myself.
If there is a problem with your vehicle take it here. they will do their best to fix it, and find you the best product thay can.
Will I hope I dont need to return here, but if I do. I will be comeing back here.

A while back my pickup was making a leaking exhaust sound which seemed to be coming from under the hood (maybe exhaust manifold or down tube connection leak). Ironically, I had been thinking of putting some headers and a dual free-er flowing exhaust on it which prior to the leak I'd already purchased to install myself. I'm very handy and capable, so installing those myself wasn't an issue, however at the time I'd had other things going on, etc... and decided to have them professionally installed.
So I did some online research and called around to various shops to see if they'd install customer pre-purchased equipment and for how much. I decided upon Gene's and the experience was painless.
I took my truck over to have them look over my issues/needs and to get an estimate. We then arranged for me to drop it off the next AM so they could start on it. They said they'd need a few days, which was fine. The quoted estimate and ultimate cost was about $800 for them to install the headers and dual cat-back glass pack exhaust, which included some custom tweaking (cutting & re-welding) of the original down tubes to get a better seal with the new headers. Also included was a brief check back with them a week later so they could re-torque the header bolts after several heat cycles.
Both their mechanics and the front office staff were pleasant and helpful.

My Honda needed a new muffler last week.. I was referred to Gene's by Christian Brothers Automotive. They were able to get me in within a day - which was great because it was in need of being replaced right away before falling off! Thanks, Craig! Thanks, Dustin! And thank you all for your help (and the Keurig coffee..yummmm! ;-) Vickie, Castle Rock

I went on yelp to see if I could find a good muffler shop. After reading the reviews for this shop I decided to check it out. I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate. Upon arriving I was greeted by the owner Greg. He diagnosed the problem in about 5 minutes or less. The most impressive part was he didn't want me to have to come back to do the repair. They repaired my exhaust gasket at a reasonable price and sent me on my way. I will recommend them to everybody. Thanks for going above and beyond Gene's Muffler and Auto Service.

Walked in with a gas tank to pressure test. A 1960's gas tank with a bleed screw in it.
After a couple of double takes, the ideas on how to do it come. Cleaned out their big tank special for me, and found a little button leak in the gas sender. Nice folks and charged me a reasonable price..

Being new to the area, I had to do some research when deciding where to take my car for what I thought was a brake issue. I narrowed it down to 2 places, Gene's and the local shop of a larger chain, and decided to take my car in to both for an estimate. The larger chain place came back with an estimate of over $900 and said I needed new front rotors and pads and needed the back rotors machined and new pads. When I said I thought that price was a bit high compared to what I've paid in the past, he 'recalculated' everything and told me he could probably do it for a bit over $500 if I wanted to leave the rotors alone. That threw up some red flags for me. So, I took it to Gene's. I instantly liked them. The lady in the office was so sweet! She made me feel at ease instantly. Then the mechanic came up front to introduce himself and to ask a few more questions. He was very friendly as well. My gut told me they were a trustworthy place. After inspecting them, they told me there was nothing wrong with my brakes at all! I actually hadn't heard the grinding noise in a few days by the time I took it in. They said it was likely just some dirt and grime or maybe a rock had gotten stuck. They estimated I had at least 6 months worth of life left on the back brakes and said the front ones were even better.
So glad I didn't have to get my brakes fixed, but when I do, I know where I'll be taking it now. The people at Gene's seem very knowledgable and trustworthy. Glad to have found them.

Had a brake issue and called them in the AM after a 3-day weekend. Of course they were full but still got me in, found and fixed the issue the same day and the charge was WAY less than I expected. Excellent service, even better people.

Craig and the rest are great guys! When the factory exhaust started rusting out and leaking, I had a new system put on at Gene's. They did a fantastic job. The cost was very reasonable. I called around and although they weren't the absolute cheapest, when all the extras that the cheapest quotes included were added in, they were better than most. Not only did they give me a good quote, the final price was slightly lower because they didn't need some of the parts they initially thought they might.
Fast forward a year and a half; the 2 mufflers and pipes are still in perfect condition. A few months ago I took my car in to get the oil changed and the guy working on my car asked who did the exhaust. I was prepped for him to make some snide comment but instead he said, "I used to work in an exhaust shop for years and I have rarely seen such a good job. You've got some custom work on this thing that must have cost you a small fortune."

These guys were amazing! I had a minor freak out when out went out to the motel parking lot and my car wouldn't start. When it finally did, it only managed to go about 15 miles per hour. Knowing I couldn't get on the highway to find my typical chain repair place, I quickly jumped on Yelp to find a closer place. Gene's was only about a block away and in a less traveled area. While this type of area is normally out of my comfort zone, I had no choice. When I pulled up, I was immediately greeted my one of the mechanics. I quickly explained my situation and he immediately started to look at my car. I could see that they had a bunch of cars they were working on, but he went straight to work on mine. I usually have a lot of anxiety about car repair places, because I feel like I've been taken advantage of in the past. When he came back and told me it would be about $175 to fix I gladly to him to go right ahead. In the end, it ended up being a less expensive part. They readjusted the price only charging me about $100 for the part needed and sent the unneeded part back. I was so impressed that they were honest and upfront about the real issue. The lady in the office was friendly and personable and made me feel at ease. I would definitely come here again.

Gene's Muffler Service is by far the most honest, trust-worthy auto service place I've ever used. I've never paid more than the original estimate; in fact, today I picked up our car and paid just over half of what Craig had estimated the cost would be. Even though he knew I was willing (and expecting) to pay the original estimate amount, he charged me fairly, based on the time it had really ended up taking him to complete the job. The people here are honest, down-to-earth, and know and enjoy their profession.
