I took my car to three different places for estimates after being rear-ended at a traffic light, and Lava was the only one that validated my concerns about the damage to my car and was honest about how poorly aftermarket and reconditioned bumpers fit on the newer Honda Civics. The other shops kept pushing aftermarket and reconditioned parts because that's all the insurance companies will pay for, but Johnny at Lava ordered me a brand new bumper and even called Honda to see if they would be willing to match the price of the reconditioned bumper. When they knocked off some money but weren't able to match the price exactly, Johnny told me not to worry about the difference. My car was fixed in a day and a half, and now you can't tell it was ever hit because they did such a great job matching the color. I highly recommend Lava due to their courtesy and professionalism. I doubt I would have received this level of service anywhere else in State College. I hope I don't have anymore accidents, but if I do, I won't hesitate to bring my car back to Lava.

Highly Recommend!

Great place. Very honest and helpful. Son's car was damaged while a student at PSU. They handled everything...from arranging a good time to fix car with my son to dealing with the insurance company. Beautiful work...matched paint perfectly. Would recommend to anyone. 5 STARS!

Worth the Drive from Downtown

Located just outside State College on the road to Pine Grove Mills (PA 26) West College Ave., this shop has taken care of my vehicles for many years. Just past Harner's Orchard, Lava's offers top rate work, honest and fair pricing and the attention to detail that one would expect from a family run business. To my knowledge they don't advertise much since their work speaks for itself. I have always been impressed with the quality of their work. They give you all the options on detail and let you decide. After check prices at other shops, I've always found their prices to be in the mid range while their work is definitely top notch.

These guys are fantastic. I've had to take my car here twice, once to have the entire bumper redone, the second time to have a small scratch buffed out.
The bumper paint job was flawless, it looked as perfect as the day I bought it. The price wasn't cheap, but it wasn't overpriced either, especially since the quality was very high.
The small scratch they buffed out without any issues, I sat there for a half hour while they did it and then went on my way.
If you ever need any body work done in State College I strongly recommend Lava.

This place is great. Did some damage to my car and got it quoted at around 1500 at another place, but my car was old and there was no way I was putting that kind of money into it. They ended up doing a budget fix for around 600, and although the damage is still noticeable, you have to get up pretty close. It passed inspection, looks pretty good and saved me a ton of money !

They do good bodywork. But they are some very rude people. Have no respect for anyone. Hurling insults at me and saying to take my f**king car and go f**k myself. Hideous...Hope I never get into an accident again and have to come to these guys...

Lava Auto was EXTREMELY helpful in dealing with insurance companies and the driver who hit me. Very stand up guys and I would recommend them to anyone who needed serious body work done. They fixed up the rear end of my Sentra and it looks great! Again, would recommend!

Had gone there a couple of months back and had to wait a long time before someone came out to help. The quote they gave me for the repairs I wanted seemed to be high. I went to the local toyota dealership instead and they got it done for 500 dollars less. Maybe this place worked for people. Didnt work for me.
