After getting over 4 quotes for AC check for more than double the price of this place we took the BFs car here and they were amazing! Dropped it off in the am and it was done before 11 am! Sure enough it was very minor and we ended up getting out of there for less than $100! Very honest and double checked everything! We will be back anytime we have an issue with either vehicle! Thank you Tripps!!

My first visit to the shop was to see if I could get my oil changed. I was amazed at how quickly it was done, with no appointment. I have waited for a few hours at other shops, even with an appointment. I just had a good feeling this was a great place. I will definitely be back!

Richard is amazing and I found him through a friend, as well as the mail out I received a few months ago. I came from another shady place who wanted to charge me $909 for the replacement of two rear wheel bearing and hub assemblies on my Honda Civic.
Richard looked at my car and told me I only had 1 bad bearing, not two. He fixed my bearing for $230 and I also paid for an oil change. I could not be more happy, he runs an honest shop and I will return for all of my needs.

These are honest mechanics. They know what they are doing because they enjoy working on their own vehicles. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they aren't going to "fix" something that is not broken, so you save plenty there! One of the first times I went there, they mistakenly charged me for overlapping labor, but I didn't catch it. The owner called me back an hour later and asked me to come back so he can give me my $200 back that they overcharged me. How many mechanics do you know that would do that? I take everything there and I recommend them to everyone.

These days, I think most of us have an expectation of being taken advantage of when we have to have our cars serviced. We are at the mercy (our car is broke) of what the mechanic says needs to be done. Some of us may know more than others about cars, but I think we all worry about the mechanic shop encouraging or insisting on additional work being done that really isn't necessary. Richard Tripp and his team are absolute GEMS. They are fair. They are honest. Their prices are reasonable. Their work is quick. In fact -- Tripp's Auto really has the customer's satisfaction as their #1 goal -- and it shows in how I am greeted when I walk in the door, how respectfully they talk to me, and how well they keep me informed with repair progress. I live in the Galleria, and I drive to Katy to Tripp's for all my auto repair needs. Bravo to Richard and his team. Why go anywhere else?

Tripp's was recommended to us through Nextdoor and we could not be more pleased. They actually confirm that the work is truly needed, and do nothing unnecessarily. We went in telling them we had a laundry list of issues, come to find out there was only one small item to take care of. They were honest instead of easily taking us for a ride. It is so refreshing to have a go to mechanic that is honest and trustworthy, that does solid work, and is affordable. They have made customers for life out of us.

CRAFTSMEN NOT PARTS REPLACERS I have taken my cars to Tripp's Automotive for over ten years, but the particular failure I'll describe was unique. The Tripp's team removed a broken bolt from inside a crankshaft to replace a failed harmonic balancer bolt. Here's the story of a craftsman. While idling at a stop light, my 1995 Honda Civic made a loud clank and started running erratically. Very slowly, I drove it to Tripp's. Within minutes of my arrival the team diagnosed the problem as a broken bolt holding the harmonic balancer on the crankshaft. This failure could not be corrected by simply replacing the broken bolt because half of that bolt remained lodged deep inside the crankshaft. What to do!? The Tripp's team provided two options: 1) replace the motor, or 2) drill out the broken stud in the crankshaft. Richard Tripp said that replacing the motor was a guaranteed fix, but although drilling out the broken stud was much lower cost, it was difficult and might not work. I bet on the skill of Tripp and his team------a very good decision. Richard drilled out the stud and the team fixed the car in a day. Eight months and 4000 miles later the car is still running great. A mere parts replacer would have been stumped. Only a craftsman could have fixed this car. Many thanks to Richard Tripp and his team.

Will NOT trade with any other shop in town. Richards shop takes care of my truck ..... period. Integrity is a rare commodity these days and Tripps is a gold mine with nothing but the customers best interest in mind. Plus they know what theyre doing :)
