I initially took my car in a few years ago after an auto accident. It took three days longer then expected, and they failed to notify me each time the deadline came and went, I had to call them. I had to have the part repainted about 18 months later. Another 2 years later the paint is peeling again, so I went in a month ago to let them know. Waited 2 weeks for a call back, nothing. Went in, and was given the excuse of "we're busy", and a promise to call back. Waited another two weeks, and nothing. Went back in, and got a phone call that day, to bring my car in by 8am the following Monday. I showed up at 7:30, and was completely ignored. Several other customers came in, and they were immediately taken care of. I waited until after 8 and left. I called my insurance company around 10, and they contacted them directly. It was claimed that Mid Tex tried to call me, but I had my phone on me the entire time, and since I give them my number EVERYTIME I go in, there is no reason for me to miss a call. With the insurance co on the line I got them to agree to pick my car up, and am now waiting for it to be done by the end of the business day as promised. Will be following up with USAA auto insurance, as requested by them.
* UPDATE 03/07/16 They brought it back to my house at 4:30, and I immediately noticed flaws in the paint, and the way the bumper was put on. Taking it back in tomorrow to once again TRY to get this fixed.
*UPDATE Took it in today 03/08/16, and they looked at it immediately. It's missing a rear support beam!!!!!! Like How do you forget to put that in? Did they seriously think I wouldn't notice? They have to order the part, and can't give me any idea on when it will come in. Updated the insurance company, and they are launching an investigation. Upon conclusion of this inquiry, they will decide if this business will be a USAA approved location in the future.
*UPDATE 03/30/16 I waited until 3/23/16 to inquire about the part, as I did not want to go with out my car during spring break. After over 2 weeks, there was some confusion as to if the part was in. I called at 8:00 am, and was told to call back at 10. I called back at 10, and was PROMISED that they would call me back. I waited until 4:30 PM, and called my insurance. They called, and were again told they Mid Tex had called me, and that I had an appointment for a full repair scheduled. I was not told about the appointment, and did not need a full repair.
After some back, and forth I agreed to bring my car in on 3/25/16. I asked ahead of time for something in writing documenting THIS specific repair, AND something saying that had gone over the entire car just to double check. I was assured this would be no problem. I was also told to only deal with the adjuster that works with my insurance company. He didn't show up until 30 min after the shop opened, though I was told to be there first thing. All I got as far as paperwork, was another copy of the original repairs. I was also told that the current repair was supposedly NOT part of my original work, and was done at a courtesy. The rep, and I walked out to my car, and it looked exactly like it did before. He tried to convince me that it was fine. I had to grab my keys from him, so I could leave. ~*~ I contacted USAA, and they schedule me with another company, which I saw today. There ARE some issues, that if not fixed could mean major repairs down the road. MIDTEX will be paying the new shop for the repairs, AND covering the cost of my rental car, since they were given more then enough chances to fix this, and didn't. Lost me as a customer, putting their membership in USAA's star program as risk, and I tell everyone I meet not to take their car there.
