David and the guys at Jones have always done me right, but this weekend they went above and beyond. The alternator on my truck broke an hour before I was supposed to catch a ride out of town. I thought I'd have to cut my trip short, but these guys came through on short notice to have me back up and running in time for work on Monday.

I had taken my car in for a routine oil change and all went downhill from there. I had previously received oil changes here so I assumed that they would advise me on any issues that were encountered. I was emailed and ask to pick up the car. I dropped off a check and was given a receipt for the service. A week and a half later an oil spot was developing in my driveway and at work. Myself and a former employee to Jones Automotive looked under the car and noticed an oil leak at the drain plug. I called the shop and described what I experiencing and was asked to bring it in(again). After keeping the car over the weekend I had to call twice and follow up. The shop manager told me that he had talked with his mechanic who told him that the oil change had not been performed. I was then told that I needed a new oil change because it's normal wear that a drain plug cannot be removed. Since the plug could not be removed when I had my car there initially then the best thing to do was replace the oil pan(an additional $340.00 charge at my expense). I did not seem to be a big issue that the actual service was not performed on my car and that I was not notified three weeks after I had paid for the service. At this point I still have a leaky oil pan. I stopped by to receive a refund for the presumed oil change the shop manager gave me a business card marked,"free oil change due!" Unbelievable how some people try to take advantage of others because they cannot simply write a check. To hand me a business card IOU for an oil change that was not performed gives me the impression that I have a card with absolutely no value. Jones Automotive is a disgrace with no offering to fix my car for the damages that they created. To me the drain plug should have been noticed upon previous oil changes. However, the business does not want to own up to their mistakes so I have been forced to take my business elsewhere. Be cautious to the work quality here as there are some shady business practices occurring.

We were traveling cross-country with two cats when the a/c in my car stopped working. In Tennessee in August, that's an emergency. The Travel America just off I40 had no mechanic shop, so they sent us down the road to Jones Automotive. Those guys saved our trip, and probably our cats' lives. They let us keep the cats inside the office, out of the summer heat, and they ordered and installed the blower we needed in about 1 1/2 hours.

I discovered a lot to like about Jones Automotive when I had the valve cover gaskets replaced on my Dodge Dakota. This was something that I figured to be very time consuming and expensive because so many components had to be moved or removed to get at the repair. When I called, the service manager, David Passmore first explained how he would verify the diagnosis and do the estimate and we set up a time for them to take a look. They got the vehicle on the rack quickly and David said he would call me the next day after figuring materials and labor. The estimate was less than expected and there was no pressure to do the work, but when I called a couple days later, they got me in the next day with a declaration to have the work done by afternoon. It was time for the shop to close, but they stood true to their promise and the mechanic worked late to have things done. I usually do my own mechanic work and I found that they did things the way I would have, they cleaned the engine compartment and all the lines and hoses were nicely cleaned and aligned a beautiful repair, done quickly, for a very fair price. Jones advertises honest, down home service, and I would affirm that this is certainly the case: David and his team are absolutely super to do business with.
