HCS has taken good care of almost every Honda I have owned for the past 15+ years. They are professional, courteous, knowledgeable and understanding. I wouldn't take my precious Honda anywhere else. They treat my car like it was their car and I can't thank them enough.

I brought my car here to get a second opinion after the check engine light came on. The engine code indicated a leak in the evaporative emissions system and the first place I took it (Hare Repair) estimated the cost of repairs at around $450 saying that it would require replacing a solenoid and two way valve and that the gas tank would have to be removed to get to them. At HCS Automotive they replaced the gas cap and cleared the engine code. My check engine light has not come back on in over a month. Take a guess where I'll be taking my car for repairs in the future?
Update: I've taken my car to HCS two more times (timing belt replacement and AC problems) and had excellent results both times. Now I'm sure this place is my mechanic in Houston.

Came in to check on pricing since I was in the area and noticed all the 5 stars on Yelp. But when I walked in the lady was on the phone and didn't acknowledge me. A worker also came in and not a word. Once she was done she picked up another call without a word to me. Guess she didn't want my business. So I walked out. Bad customer service.

Called and they told me 2 hours to press in a wheel bearing into the knuckle/hub. I told them I will bring in the hub and if they can just press out the old bearing and press in the new one. Its one hour tops to do the job especially if I bring them the hub.
Then they proceeded to tell me that will not be able to do it this week and would have to refer me to the dealership. I never said I wanted it done this week and could wait as this was for my other car a 2007 honda civic. Others might have gotten good service from this shop but I was not impressed with the customer service. I moved on to another shop that could quote me a fair labor price.

As a customer, I highly recommend HCS Automotive. The customer service is outstanding. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and professional, and HCS' rates are very competitive! If you want your Honda, Toyota, etc., serviced right and at very reasonable prices, check out HCS automotive at
. When you call ask for Sheri. She'll treat you right!

Relocated to Houston looking for a place to repair my vehicle and I ran across HCS which was located literally 3 blocks from me. I called before bringing my car and she sounded very welcoming. My vehicle (Toyota Camry) was showing 5 different codes all referring to the air mass flow sensor which I knew prior to bringing my car in. They did a diagnosis and cleared the codes. Initially the check engine light did not come on and she was going to let me go home without charging me a dime. Unfortunately clearing the code was not enough. I returned my vehicle and the mechanic took off the part within less than 3 minutes. She kept my car for 3 additional days and also got the car inspected, which helped me save so much time. The price was reasonable since they kept my vehicle to ensure nothing else needed to be replaced. I really appreciate the service and recommend them but make sure to call them first.

HCS Automotive and the people who work there are great. These guys know what they are doing. I highly value/recommend their customer service and their expertise. Professional service at a very reasonable cost.
I am glad I found them and I will not take my car anywhere but here.

HCS Auto has cared for our family's 2002 Toyota Camry & 2007 Toyota Prius like family would.
The owners Tony & George remind me of my grandpa from the greatest generation.
What a joy to have an auto repair team whose faith we can trust to sell us only what we need.

I love them! They're honest! They know their craft. Their prices are fair and their work is good! Complete Wins! I've had major work done here and I've had minor work like oil changes done as well. In either case, I've been incredibly satisfied. I'd highly recommend them. I love their work.

This is the only shop I've ever been to that I feel completely comfortable at. I don't feel stupid or like I'm being taken advantage of here. I don't know much about cars, but every time I leave I learn something new.
The lady at the front is knowledgeable and sweet. The mechanics are quick with their work and know what they're doing. I've taken my S2000 to Honda a couple of times (I was forced to, unfortunately) and I've always had to take it back because they didn't fix what I went in for, it was ridiculous. But after leaving HCS I can rest assured I won't have to come back for the same problem, and I trust that it's been taken care of. Their prices are fair and reasonable, as well. I hope everyone that works here lives forever so I won't ever have to press my luck in finding another shop as amazing as this one!
Thank you, HCS, for all your hard work and kindness! It is greatly appreciated by many!

I wouldn't call myself mechanically inclined, but I'm not afraid to turn a wrench either. When it came time to do the timing belt/water pump/drive belt on the Acura, I wasn't ready to put Megumi on some jack stands and hope it all worked out. There's a 50mm bolt that you need a special tool for when you do this job, and often times you need a breaker bar and a ton of leverage.
I'd actually asked on Yelp Talk for any recommendations for an Indy shop. Of course some guy who's never turned a wrench his life recc'd going to the dealer. I'm sure the job would get done right @ the dealer, but the quote from the dealer closest to me was 2k, and the one closest to the job said 3200. Keep in mind that the parts for this job might cost you ~400 on a bad day.
Did some searching on an Acura forum and this came up.
The shop is in one of the more industrial parts of Houston, but right across from a charter school. Sheri, the lady @ the front desk gave me a quote over the phone, and it was the same when I got to the shop. I told her what other issues I was having with the car, and she told me what it might cost.
Miguel, one of the techs, drove me to work. And about 3 hours later I got a call from Sheri letting me know what needed to be done. (broken motor mount and tensioner needing replacing along with the 2 belts and water pump). Pretty standard stuff
When the work was done, Miguel came to pick me up. Now I had it in my head that I was going to ask for the parts. When I got to the shop, she had all of my old parts in a box ready for me to inspect. They'd thought of everything.
We settled up, and then showed me some other problems with the car, but all in all, it was some great service. Car runs better than it's ever run and I paid 1/4 of what the dealer was asking.
Highly Recommend

HCS is so expensive that I think I am being ripped off.
Before doing business here shop around to get an idea of what other mechanics will charge you.
Make sure you get a estimate and idea of the price before authorizing work at HCS.
I will never be returning here because of the huge labor charges I was forced to pay. HCS needs to work on being more transparent with their labor billing.

Looks like my car has found a new spa for itself. This place truly deserves. 5 stars.
My front left break had been making a noise for last 2 years. I took my car to Firestone and one more place, all of them change couple of parts (bearings, break pad and what not) of-course it costed me a lot of money.
I had to take my car every 3-4 months for the same problem, recently I decided to try out HCS based on the yelp reviews and I am so happy. They figured out the reason quickly and identified the right part that needs replacement.
It costed me much less and I don't hear any noise anymore. My car is running awesome. They also gave me some discount on the labour.
Thanks George, you are absolutely awesome in what you do.
Highly recommend this place over any other so called experts...

HCS came recommended to me by my wife's boss. I was looking for a replacement shop as my old shop just wasn't cutting it and going to the dealer is highway robbery.
Before I took one of my cars there I stopped by to meet the crew. I was greeted by Sherry and then I met Tony, Miguel and Anthony. I was impressed immediately by their knowledge on many mechanical issues. I decided to give them a go.
This was one of the best decisions that I have made. They have now worked on 2 of my Hondas, 2 of my Toyotas and my Scion TC. I call Sherry (who is as knowledgeable about the mechanical workings of cars as any of the mechanics), give her a heads up that I am coming and when I arrive, my vehicle is pulled into the shop and the service performed.
They have rebuilt a transmission on my '03 Honda and provided me with a 3 year, 36000 mile warranty (won't get that at the dealer) and they most recently replaced the throttle body and brake pads on my '04 Toyota Camry. They've also performed all of the oil changes for all of my vehicles.
I've twice brought in vehicles that I was considering purchasing to have them inspected. One they gave the green light (the Scion) and one they said no way (an Acura). I trust their judgement fully.
Recently they have started using BG products
. These products have a great reputation and I've added BG44k to my fuel several times in the past.
They also remodeled the office and the waiting area and it looks really nice.
If you are looking for a top notch shop, you owe it to yourself to stop by their southwest location (north location has closed). I promise you that you will be glad you did.

Words cannot express my gratitude and elation for having found this establishment!
New to Houston, I was grief stricken when my Austin car shop owner died of a heart attack.
I literally wept because he took excellent car of my cars. I trusted him explicitly! Extraordinary man!
I'd gone to one body shop that was recommended.
Not a good fit.
I had gone to several Honda dealerships...paying way to much!
My finding these guys was via YELP!
I called on a day they were closed for Thanksgiving.
Both the service man/technician and the owner or manager spoke with me.
Incredibly kind, knowledgeable and respectful.
I went in the following morning, again they were closed though offered to see me!
Above and beyond!!!
Needless to say they took excellent car of my car and spoke to ME, not my breasts, nor in a condescending manner.
Professional and courteous!
I can not exhale and relax because I have found the relationship to keep my car go go going.
Honda Civic 2004 over 207K miles and purring!
Thank you GENTLEMEN!

We have used HCS Automotive for several years now. My husband happened to come across this shop and now we won't go anywhere else. They are reliable, honest, thorough and have great customer service. Sherry, at the front desk, is amazing and the mechanics are great as well. We can recommend this shop unequivocally.

Let's be honest. This shop isn't located in the poshest area of Houston nor will it be mistaken for one of the Honda/Acura dealerships' service departments. I was hesitant because my car was a few months old. My family always took our German and Italian cars to the dealers because despite their high prices, they could fix those cars - they had hundreds of parts that easily broke down and were hard to fix.
If you want WiFi, a pretzel with water, and the latest Bloomberg market reports on an HD flatscreen while you wait, go to Sterling McCall or John Eagle. Don't forget to pay 2-3x more than here. If you know that Honda/Acura are reasonable to maintain, take them to places that fit that no-frills/simple vibe. Surprisingly, HCS provides transportation if you need it, and has technicians actually trained to work with Honda/Acura vehicles. Read their website for more info.
I brought my 2013 Acura here for the "A" and "B" service intervals; the additional $135 over HCS's price that the dealership wanted was insulting. They told me to avoid (honest) places like HCS because only dealers could do Acura's A/B services. In fact, the "A"/B" services are actually oil changes. The difference is that "A" is just an oil change whereas "B" is an oil change plus a 38-point vehicle inspection. Since most garages that change your oil inspect your car anyway, the distinction between "A" and "B" is meaningless.
HCS's price was reasonable for the "A" and it included a 10-point inspection. They used Valvoline Durablend at 5w20. I recommend buying your own full synthetic oil + filter and giving it them (they'll charge you less). This way, you adhere to the exact oil specifications in the user manual i.e. 0w20.
The lady at the front was very warm and friendly. I waited inside for about 45 minutes. They called my name, and asked for the Acura service log so they could stamp it and check whatever they had done. When I drove off, I noticed one of the technicians had reset the MID/car computer for me so that the maintenance had been recorded and reset for the next interval.
I'll be returning here again from now on!
P.S. I really wish this place had a spin balancing machine so I could do the "A1/B1" here instead of going to another shop for the tires/wheels.

I can't say enough about this place. My wife and I needed a second opinion on a used car inspection before we purchased it. Once we arrived, Sherry gave us their detailed inspection list and kept us informed on their findings. The inspection took about an hour to complete but the piece of mind knowing we were buying a clean vehicle was worth the wait. Thanks again for all your assistance!

I have been bringing my cars here for maintenance and repairs since it was known as the Honda Car Shop. They originally only worked on Hondas and Acuras but have expanded to virtually all Japanese brands including Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, etc...
These guys are top notch. The staff are all very friendly and professional. They will fix it right with high quality original manufacturer's parts. They will shoot you straight and will tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. I really appreciate this type of honesty at an auto repair shop. These guys stand behind their work and have been around for a long time.
I am very particular with who works on my vehicles and I have no worries when these guys do the work. Prices are in line with what you would expect but the quality of work is far superior to any shop or dealer's service dept I have been able to find.
I'd send my mother there- as a matter of fact, I do!

I recently had these fine people install and hard wire a v1 radar in a new Sedan for me.
Initially I saw this shop when it was called the Honda Car Shop instead of HSC,,they were down the street from a porsche repair facility that I have used for years. I saw them but never needed to use them and now that I have I am grateful that I did!
The staff is very courteous. The mechanics are honest and polite in explaining your cars issues. The shop is very clean and organized. Comfy waiting room. They are closed on Mondays which I don't like but all is well.
So instead of going to the dealer [and I have to mention I have free oil changes at the Dealer] I just bring the car here for oil changes & regular maintenance etc. They use Genuine Honda parts as well. I put about 25k -30k miles yearly on my daily driver so I buy Mobil 1 oil/filters by the case and just bring the fluids/parts every 4k miles etc ..the labor charge is always fair and honest. I've also had them take apart my center console to remove my drivers license bc I dropped it in the e-brake crack and was charged minimally
I would let my grandmother bring her car here without blinking!
I am a car person so I thought that I should log in and give the shop a well deserved Five Star review.
Good people here!

I brought my newly-purchased used Honda there for a once-over by the mechanic named Carlos. He did an excellent and thorough job. I needed just a few things after the once-over, and the shop quoted decent prices for replacement parts well ahead of time of the repair date.
So far, I'd recommend this place to anyone with a used Honda or Acura. I'll re-review if any of my opinions change.

I have been bringing my cars here for over ten years. I am now on my third car with them which is how I found out that don't just work on Hondas. They have done well by my Infiniti as well. I hate dealerships so I only go there when it is something covered by manufacture warranty. Being a chick that knows very little about cars I never know when I am being taken advantage of. I have never felt like I am being snowed at Honda Car Shop. I have even gone there telling them it was something major and was pleasantly surprised when they told me it wasn't what I thought it was and ended up making a small, cheap repair. The car is always ready when they say and they even offer shuttle service. It is nice to know I have place that I can trust when something goes wrong.

My daughter had a flat recently while picking up her brother at a school near HCS's shop...I was stuck more than 2 hrs away and her mom was still at work...there was nothing we could do immediately...while looking for a tire-store store near by, I saw HCS and called to see if they had a tow truck to assist with the tire change...Sherry answered and after a brief explanation of our situation, she simply said "Don't worry, I'll send someone over there right now"...and that was it....no questions, no credit card, no nothing...just doing all she could to help out someone in a bind!! Anthony was the young man she sent over and he was a perfect gentleman and so amazingly helpful...HCS, Shelly, Anthony...thank you so very much! You are a testament to whats good about humanity!!

For the lady who just answered the phone, you're incredibly rude! Third shop I called, the ONLY shop that could not give me a rate on replacing synchros and a clutch. $3500-$4500 to replace synchros and a clutch when it takes every other place less than 10 hours, and every other place ranged from $780-$1300. I can take my car to a Stealership and have the entire engine and transmission replaced parts and labor for around $4500! Since I have used this shop in the past and really loved their work, I wanted them to do this job too. However, due to her very sour attitude, very rude bulldozing tone, and not knowing a damn thing about what she's talking about, I will take my business elsewhere!

Have had three Honda products, which we really enjoy. Once our warranties ran out we found HCS. They do great work at a fraction of the dealer cost, in addition to knowing their product. My understanding is they do all Japanese brands, including Toyota. Have been getting work done here on the MDX for the last two years post warranty and will do so until it dies!
