My sister in law and I went to Southdale center Wednesday and on the way home my blazer started chugging, she googled auto repair nearby and called Leroy's auto repair. We limped in, he was very friendly and looked at it right away. We walked over to a little strip mall nearby while they worked on it, hoping this day wasn't going to turn into a financial nightmare.
About an hour later he called and it was done, thankfully, something not too serious. I was so relieved, I am such a sucker for car repairs, I know next to nothing about anything mechanical or technical. He knew we were stranded and could have easily taken advantage of us. I wish they had a shop in Rochester, I've always taken my vehicles to dealerships and it always costs a fortune. Great business, I recommend them.

I have never had a bad experience at Leroy's. I usually pop in to see them to get an oil change when necessary. They are always honest about the wait time to get your car in, they are usually spot on with the amount of time your repair will take and they are very accommodating and professional with the way they communicate with their customers. Leroy's staff goes above and beyond by providing me with a list of additional items/things to consider getting checked out repaired after my visit. They don't give you a false sense of emergency with this list, it is just a friendly FYI notice about what else is going on with your vehicle. I don't ever feel pressured to get additional repairs completed while I'm there, but that list of "things to consider" is one of the main reason I continue to go back to Leroy's.

My family has been going here for years with a variety of cars. All of the guys that work here are respectful and thorough and I have never been disappointed by a wait time/price/job done. I moved out of the area and drive back for maintenance. A really impressive group of guys that genuinely like their jobs.

I had a radiator installed they gave me an estimate of $525.00. They called me back and told me the cooling system needed to also be flushed out for an additional $120.00 I said ok. I learned later from other reputable service centers that flushing the cooling system wasn't needed if you where replacing the radiator. I talked to the service manager refused to give me my $120.00 back. Not going back to Leroy's again!

Leroy's was recommended to me by a good friend who swore by their service. He'd had everything from oil changes to engine work done there. At first I wasn't sure... I mean this is a guy who builds potato guns and races a motorized scooter when intoxicated. He told me I'd like the movie Starship Troopers 3. He tricked me into eating a sandwich with a ghost chili in it. So he's not always the most reliable source.
I'm really glad that I listened to him on this one though.
I've been into Leroy's several times, mostly for oil changes. I've never had an appointment and only once have they been so busy that they didn't get me in right away. They are well-staffed and EXTREMELY friendly. Half of the time, I pull into their parking lot and somebody actually comes out to meet me as I'm exiting my vehicle.
They work quickly and do a great job in my experience. One thing I hate about most auto shops is that their employees are not only patronizing, but really try to sell every part your car could ever need. At Leroy's, I was shown a list of things that their tech noticed I could use, but never once was I pressured into getting them done. It was just for my reference.
I should also mention that several months back, my girlfriend's POS car was making a weird sound. I got all up under the vehicle. Dug around under the hood. Couldn't find ANYTHING. So she brought it in to Leroy's. They got it up and found a strong, brave little stick wedged into her axle. The pulled it out. They charged her nothing for it. NOTHING.
This is how business is done. In an industry that, I think, most of us perceive as kind of shady, Leroy's stands out above the crowd. I'll continue giving them my money. They deserve it.

Not impressed. I recently brought my car in after it shut off while driving and wouldn't start again. A friend of mine got it jumped, however, it was still not working right so I brought it to Great Bear Tire & Auto. Upon arrival the kid came out, opened my hood and kept the car running while he tested the battery and said that the battery and alternator were fine. He couldn't have seemed more uninterested in helping me. He said everything was charged the way it should be and it's probably something electrical. That was the end of it. He gave me a new oil cap and told me to pay him whatever I thought because it was out of his tool box. I left Great Bear auto and chanced a drive to the place I normally take my car where they informed that it was in fact a faulty battery that can barely hold the charge once it's going and that it took the alternator with it. Testing a batter while the car is running and has been running for over 30 minutes proves nothing. I am extremely disappointed in the service at this place. There was obviously something wrong with the car considering it wouldn't start and had shut off while driving. I'm tried of bringing older cars places and no one wanting to work on them. I wouldn't suggest this place to even someone I didn't like. If I'm willing to pay you and I don't have a time limited because I know it's first come first serve, then why deny helping?

My husband and I flip-flop between LeRoy's and Discount Tire that's down the street. The other day he noticed that his sister's car had not one, but two nails stuck in her tire. Plus her tires were in need of a changing as well.
We went over to LeRoy's because we knew they were open late, fast, friendly, and knew what they were talking about. The guy that helped us was really helpful and gave his sister the best prices on a set of tires with the best advice he could give her (had she tried to keep driving with those nailed up tires). She knew what she had to do and they took her car that same evening and finished in 1.5 hours flat. Her husband who couldn't be there saw the tires, drove it, and loved them. So he got a set for his own car as well....at LeRoy's of course.

I have used LeRoy's for years, they are within a couple of miles of me for most repairs all except for the very large complex jobs which I take to my dealer. I generally make an appointment but, have on occasion dropped in without one without an appointment and they were able to get me on my way fairly quickly. Large garage with attached gas station, & refills propane tanks (versus swapping them).

Our A/C wasn't working in a 2007 vehicle and they were honest in telling us all scenarios for the vehicle and what they each could cost. After checking it out, they only replaced a switch that was bad and everything is cooling great! All employees we talked to were friendly and helpful.

The employees here are fantastic. I got both of my headlights replaced exactly 2 months ago and I found out that I had one out already. I went back and told them this and they fixed it for free, I was worried they might charge me. But they explained why this would happen so soon and what we could do to fix it. I won't go anywhere else now because of how friendly and honest they were and they knew how to solve my issue!

What's the saying? You can tell if someone's smiling over the phone? Yes and Leroy's Best answered my call with a smile. Can I get a quick oil change? Absolutely! Bring it in! With my busy schedule that's what I needed. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. No additive sales pitches either. Plus I loved the wool soft cloth car wash which was open @ -14 . It's getting difficult finding friendly service these days. Thanks Leroy's for making Monday start great.
