Rick is the only mechanic in Los Angeles that I trust. He doesn't rip you off, he can always fit you in, and he is always happy to answer questions.
I have used him for several cars that I have owned. And on one experience in particular, I was quoted by Firestone to replace the spark plugs in my Dodge Avenger and clean the oil spill for $450. I thought this had to be wrong, so I called Rick. Rick quoted me $150.
His shop is a little out of my way, but I will always take my car to him.

I went to RS Auto Service for an oil change, and they said I needed to replace the belts. I went to a different mechanic just to get a second opinion, and they said indeed, the belts were really cracked and needed to be replaced. Fine. So I got them replaced at RS Auto Service (because it was more convenient for me than the second place), and from day 1, they squealed like HELL every time I turned my car on.
I went from perfectly functional belts to perfectly embarrassing, annoying belts over night. I thought it might go away, but even after a few months, it has gotten worse! And now I have to go through the tremendous inconvenience of finding a new mechanic all over again and getting the belts changed.
I won't go back to them to get the belts fixed, even for free, because god knows what else they'll do to my car.

Excellent, honest service. Doesn't get any simpler than that. It's nice to find a mechanic you can trust - especially for the simple things like oil changes. I know enough about cars and car maintenance to know when someones trying to get over on me, which is what most of the quick stop chain businesses do (i.e. "charging you $30 to change an air filter that cost $5 at AutoZone and takes 10 seconds and remedial mechanical knowledge to install). Rick is the polar opposite of these types of shops. He is now my go to guy for car repair and maintenance. I happily recommend that you try him out for yourself..

Rick is a straightforward honest mechanic, worth his weight in gold. Been going to him since I was a kid, my mom found him through a referral and we have followed him from his previous location to here.
He will give you great prices and honest opinions. Bought a car from him when I was in college, a 1990 Toyota Pick up. He financed me and was a pleasure to do business with. We still go to him for our repairs 20 years later.

I highly recommend Rick and RS Auto. Rick was recommended to me when I first moved to California and my daughter and I both use him. He is a gentle man and is very honest.
Recently my transmission was going out and Rick told me we could try sensors first before jumping right into a new transmission. He quoted me a price on the sensors and I returned the next weekend to have them installed. The final price was actually lower than the estimate! Sensors are in and have been just fine for the last 3 months.
My daughter was having engine trouble and a big chain auto supply place told her it was going to be $3,000to fix. Rick and his guys fixed the issue for $800 and it has been fine ever since.
It is hard to find a good and reasonable mechanic these days. I feel blessed to know about this gem - RS Auto Service.

This establishment was recommended to me by my neighbor who has been a long time customer of Rick at RS Auto and I was not disappointed. Took in a car to have some work done before selling it and he gave me a complete run down on what needed to be repaired and I selected the items I wanted to do to it to get it up to re-sell condition and he was able to repair it quickly. I was thankful for his great service and will take my other cars here when they need work.

Ask for Rick... Really nice guy. I believe he is also the owner. He went the extra mile for me when ordering a replacement part for my car even though they (RS Auto) wasn't doing the installation.

My gf & her dad goes to this place for all their cars and I'm tired of paying dealer prices. I am waiting for my car to get a drive belt so when I get it ill update this review.
